Had food delivered to our hotel which came relatively quick. The hamburger buns were completely soaked and completely inedible. So basically we paid $93 for 4 patties and fries with delivery. Disgusting. Won't be donating any more money to this establishment. read more

Before I moved to Palo Alto, a Five Guys had opened up near my home. I thought it was the best thing ever. Large juicy burger, more fries than I could eat, stuffed into a paper bag. Life was great. Then I moved. No copious fries. No juicy burger. I tried to move on but I couldn't. In-n-Out was good, but I still craved juicy burgers. But this was still Country Gourmet, so it was not meant to be. Time moved on. I moved from the area, but then came back for work and, behold! A Five Guys! I can delight in my missing past! And with the magical Coke drink mix machine I can have everything I could ever want. And so I ordered a bacon burger, loaded with everything. And waited. And forgot that you wait just long enough so it's no longer fast food, but not long enough for restaurant quality. That the juicy burger was a little bit too wet, and might be kinda greasier than it needs to be. That it's actually kind of expensive to almost any other burger option. That the fries are still amazing. That you really can't drink as much soda as you used to. Five Guys hasn't changed at all. But I sure had. So although I will still go in every now and again for a bite to eat, it just doesn't fit into that same spot it used to. Too expensive to be a guilty pleasure, too cheap to be a sit down restaurant experience, but a great reminder of what I used to love in a good burger. read more

The hamburgers are OK; the french fries are really good. However, while eating there the air conditioner was blasting so it was just freezing inside. And, the worst thing was the cleaning lady cleaning the floor and moving all the chairs around. Loud, vibrant atmosphere. I couldn't wait to get my burger and fries to see what all the hype was about. Did it live up to what I was expecting? Ehh... kinda. LOVE: ~ Selection of toppings - Onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, pickles, hot sauce, etc... All FREE! ~ Patties - TWO patties on a burger. ~ Amount of fries - Don't be deceived by the sizing of the cups. A "Little" will still give you a decent amount of potato goodness. Think a mountain of bag fries. ~ Cajun seasoning - Win. You MUST get this on your fries or you'll be missin' out. ~ Endless amount of free peanuts! DRAWBACKS: ~ Good, but not THAT good. ~ Bread - Not toasted enough and it reminded me of the consistency of a McDonald's bun (soft, easily squishable, gets stuck in your teeth). I wish they had a bun with more substance to stand up to the ingredients and meatiness of the burger. ~ Fries consistency - Yummy. But I like my fries to be cooked a tad more well than what was served to me. The insides of some of the larger fries were a bit undercooked. Overall: It's definitely worth a try if you've never had it. I'm glad this location opened up literally right next to my boyfriend's apartment. This is the greasiest food I have ever been served. You get your meal in a paper bag that is already soaked through with oil when they hand it to you. The fries were soggy, the hamburger bread instantly fell apart and was soggy. They restaurant advertises how great they inside but this place is not only horribly tasting it is also not cheap. They cook everything in peanut oil and they give you free peanuts, but does everything have to be soaked in oil? I almost ordered an ice cream shake but was afraid I would find oil in that too. Maybe a place for a hangover, but otherwise these guys have it all wrong. read more

I still think the one in Sunnyvale does food better, I can't really give a good reason why, I just feel like they don't skimp as much on the toppings I guess. But overall, it's a great location. My first time trying this place was at the Redwood City location.Then they recently opened one near my home. My husband has never eaten here so this was a good opportunity to check it out. He likes it! I ordered my usual little cheeseburger with everything. I found out the difference between the little burgers and regular. Little is one patty and regular is two patties. When I got my burger and started eating it, I noticed a difference. The Redwood City location made my burger with grilled onions and didn't fall apart. Mountain View had raw onions and it fell apart but not to a point where it became a big mess. I do luv their fries and next time we order them, a small size is enough for 2 people. read more

Solid experience with veggie cheese sandwich at Five Guys. It includes green peppers, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, cheese, lettuce, tomato and regular onion. The green peppers and mushrooms were a great addition to the sandwich. Cajun fries were delicious and I devoured them. Would come again but way too expensive for all of this ($11 including drink) considering its fast food. Would come again if I had to, but would avoid the drink and share fries too make it affordable. read more

5 Guys is my favorite place for burgers. The ratio of meat to cheese to bun to toppings is always perfect. The french fries (I get the little fris and share them) are exceptional. There is a sign on the wall that tell you which farm the potatoes came from that day to make the french fries you are going to eat. I always stick with a pretty simple cheeseburger and it's always the absolute best. The crew is always fun and friendly too. read more

Edit: As with my prior review, they still can't be trusted to put bacon on an order. I have since been unwrapping and checking my order to make sure it's there. 3/4 times it isn't. It's amazing that they so reliably leave it out. I eat here about once a week since it's around the corner from my place. I love the food but occasionally they disappoint me. One thing is that of the ~6 or so times I've ordered bacon on my burger, 3 times I have discovered when I get home that they left it off. Just today I went there again and decided to check my burger before walking home, and there it was again, no bacon! How can they forget it so consistently? I'm suspicious that they do it on purpose. They can be inconsistent with the crispiness of the fries as well when they're busy. But that is less often. I'm still a fan of the place though, the staff are very friendly and helpful otherwise. This is the worst 5 Guys I've been to. I've been to this location about three times and I don't think I'll be going back. The workers seem to be in slow motion and they blare Classic Rock in the tacky dining room....I didn't see any customers that looked like they appreciated hearing Brian Johnson screaming "Thunderstruck!"...I noticed a few people wandering around looking for a quieter spot--as I did--but, alas, there is no quieter spot. It seems that this loud rock music comes right out of the ceiling. As far as the food, it seems they always forget something...like last week they forgot my mushrooms and onions and ketchup and mustard. I overheard someone saying "Hey, there're no pickles!"....Their companion confirmed that his burger was also lacking pickles. read more

I am a Five Guys fan and think they rank as one of the best burger chains in the country. However, this particular location is an extreme disappointment. Ordered 3 burgers online where you have to specifically state what condiments you want on your burger. It is even listed on the receipt. However, two burgers were made wrong. How can this happen when there is a simple list of condiments? Also, the kicker is that I happen to think that Five Guys have some of the best fries in the business. The fries here were limp, soggy and not plentiful. Really disappointed. Will not go to this location again. Food coma starting now! For $12 you get more than enough burger, toppings, fries and coke; its what we run on here in america. Love all the topping choices, keeps me coming back. Better than in n out, which is pretty much always the same. The burgers have great flavor. You pay a flat rate for a burger then get to choose all the toppings at no extra cost really simplifies the ordering process. Bacon and cheese are extra though. I wish they would toast their buns though The are nice and thick, not to crispy not soggy in my experiences. Try the cajun style fries if you wanna spice things up. Tip: just get the small fry, its more than enough for 1 person Extensive drink selection. I only drink coke, but its got something for everyone. We arrived and were greeted at the front door, there are piles of peanuts to eat and also very many staff to greet you. The kitchen is completely visible and the food is being made right in front of your face. We ordered a veggie burger which was all veggie's grilled perfectly. Eric and Alli were fantastic in their customer service and checking us to see what we liked and if we needed anything. The fries could be a bit crispier, but a large order , we couldn't finish. Let me start off saying I have NEVER eaten inside the restaurant, only ever ordered online. Ordering online is pretty easy, it's all self explanatory and easy to maneuver through. Their hamburgers are pretty good when I'm in the mood for something that isn't dripping with grease or dry. The milkshakes have to be my favorite item on their menu, they don't make them until you go to pick up your order which is nice, and I like how you can customize it with a wide array of topping/add-ins. Price! They are pretty pricey for what you get, I mean normally I would spend just under $30 when I go to jack in the box/in n out for my family but here I spend (easily) $50....so that's not so fun, but like I said, it's where I go when I'm in the mood for a hamburger that isn't dripping with grease or dried out. To be honest, it's what you want when you're craving a good hamburger. Parking is pretty good, the establishment is on a corner lot so no worries on getting stuck in a dead end parking lot. read more

Don't come here if you have a gift card. Cause they'll say you don't have an amount on it. I tried to pay with a brand new gift card and they told me I had zero balance on it, so I called the number on back and the phone line said I had $25 on it. So I go back up to the register and ask them to check the balance and they said it has $25. So people at this store need to learn how to operate a cash register. read more

I'm generally a fan of the Five Guys chain and have been to multiple locations in the SF Bay area. I pretty much order the same thing every time: little cheese burger with everything, little Cajun fries, and a drink. After visiting this particular Five Guys a few times, I've been disappointed by this location compared to others because: * Fries have not been fresh; instead of crispy they are soft. * The portion of fries they give you is smaller; at most other locations they usually give you 1.5 cups of whatever size fries you ordered. * The wait is unusually long. This location is never very busy but it seems normal two wait at least 15 minutes. I'm ok with the occasional off day but after multiple visits it seems this location consistently under performs. read more

Low quality, high prices. I don't know how a restaurant can get a bigger so wrong. The burgers are drenched in oil, greasy, and tasteless. The fries are soggy and dripping with so much grease that you can't even taste the potato. The burger and fries are handed to you in an oil soaked paper bag even when dining in. There are no trays; there are no plates; there is not even paper to place down on the tables. You either eat off the bare table or you tear open the paper bag to try to create some makeshift barrier between the bare table and your food. The prices are sky high. 15 dollars for a cheeseburger, a small french fry, and a small soft drink. These prices are higher than some sit down where at least you can get high quality, organic meat and your choice of cheese. Here, the cashier could not even say what type of cheese this was. The decor consisted of bathroom tiles on the lower half of all the walls and kinkos color print outs of all their purported great reviews. They even hung poster board size quotes stating how great their value and food was. It was like being in some horrible stadium bathroom where the scent of urine would be sure to fill the air.
