I rarely go out for lunch during the work week but this was a special occasion. I had challenged a Tesla owning colleague who eats at the same five places every week to use the new "I'm Hungry" button in his car and possibly go outside his comfort zone. Unfortunately for me but lucky for him, the first place that came up was Five Guys. It was a dreary, rainy Thursday as we pulled into the pot holed parking lot on Sudley Road around noon time. The milk shake sign in the window tempted me but once I saw the calorie count on the menu for it inside I stayed with water. I did though order a bacon cheese dog for the first time in lieu of the typical burger. My colleagues ordered burgers and we all got fries. We really should just order one large bag of fries and split them as they are very generous with their portions. The dining room was mostly empty and we had our pick of tables. We grabbed a fistful of peanuts before sitting along the ceramic tiled wall with a clear shot of seeing our food come out when it was ready. It took a few minutes as everything was being made to order but worth the wait. My bacon cheese hot dog was yummy. The dog is sliced lengthwise, splayed on the grill and fried to perfection. It fits snuggly in the toasted bun and topped with my choices of ketchup, grilled onions and relish. I really enjoyed it and would try it again. My only minor complaint is that I would have preferred shredded cheese instead of a slice. read more

The manager Jr is just amazing. I came in about 15 minutes prior to closing and he didn't act rude because they were about to close. He made me the best burger ever for me I sat inside and ate him and his staff didn't say you have to leave to let me stay an extra 510 minutes after they close, they didn't give me any looks. The prices seem to have gone up. The little burgers and little fries are ok-priced and perfectly sized for a meal, but the bigger ones are too expensive for what they are. Also, $6 for a regular sized hot dog? Seriously? That's like, 4 hot dogs and 4 drinks at Costco. Or even just 2 hot dogs at Moothru. Or like 3 at 7-11. Why are these priced like movie theater hot dogs? The only thing special they do is split it in half. Not worth at all. Disappointed in Five Guys. I know 5 guys burgers and other foods can be a bit pricy but is it worth it? Absolutely!! I always see them take out fresh made patties from under the grills and afterwards change gloves to cook them so their is no contamination! Way to go 5 guys but besides being very clean and organized in the seating area and in the kitchen I can taste the deliciously made fresh made burgers and fries. That's another thing I love their fries, not so salty and more potatoey. Seriously can never go wrong with 5 guys burgers and fries, been ordering for curbside pickup for a little over a year now and it makes it so easy to just pick up food and go home during the pandemic. But, the overarching question here is price versus value. My tab was 15 dollars and some change. Was my meal 15-plus dollars worth of good? I mean, there is nothing else to recommend it, there are no other mitigating factors that are imputed into your price versus value calculation. I've really had ENOUGH of this location! Whether Door Dash delivery or pick up, they RARELY get my order correct! They either forget certain condiments, or add condiments that you did not ask for. First of all, there were no peanuts. At least not the day I was there. Otherwise, the quality is typical 5 Guys which is generally a good thing, especially when it comes to the fries. But the prices are getting out of hand (not just at this one). About $22 for a bacon cheeseburger, small fires and a shake not counting tip. Seriously? Good, but not that good. Also, on this particular trip I was with a friend. All he ordered was a milkshake. The guy asked if he ever had one of their shakes before and when he said no, the guy said it was on the house. Great gesture....for my friend. But if you are going to give freebees, think about the person who just spent $22, not the one who would have spent $6 at most. I was in the area and thought I'd treat myself to a Five Guys lunch. I decided to get a bacon cheeseburger. As for the burger, the bacon was dry and not savory; the cheese was hardly melted. Not a tasty experience. And I'm still trying to come to terms with a $20 lunch bill. But my biggest complaint with this particular location is the extremely loud soundtrack playing in the store. It was so loud that I was moved to ask the manager to lower the volume a bit, which she was reluctant to do. Her explanation was "this is how loud it always is." Hmm. For starting, service is great, fun music, friendly workers, and they make your food fast on a busy day. They never get your order wrong either, be warned, they give lots of fries and vegetables, if you ask for regular Fry's , that's enough for 2-3 people. But, it can get pricy, 2 burgers, 1 Fry's, and 2 drinks were just under 25. The fries taste pretty good. Never crunchy, but perfect amount of salt and never cold. The cheese burger is really good, melted cheese with fresh vegetables, and no burger is ever handed out cold. The only problem with the burger which really made me think twice about ordering another one is how far the meat is cooked, you can really taste how cooked it is. Some side over burnt and just doesn't give a good juicy bite, they have alot of options to drink from milkshakes to a coke machine, which is awesome. I don't usually get milkshakes since I don't think they go well with burgers, I am very impressed, but they really need to cut down cooking time on meat. Ruined my meal, It's very clean, you'll almost never find dirty tables or floors. The seats arnt the most comfortable but you forget about them since your there to eat. Don't know who's managing, but there doing a great job, recommend bringing some extra cash as it can get pricy. Until the meat is cooked reasonably, ill give this place a solid four. read more
