Five Guys just opened today in Old Town Haymarket - off of Route 55/Washington St. First off - I think Five Guys has their address wrong - they are just a couple of doors down from Goodfellas in the same building - and Goodfellas street address is: 6683 Turner Hill Rd. So I'm pretty sure the street address for Five Guys should be: 6675 Turner Hill Rd. Anyhoo - stopped in for lunch today. I've not been to a Five Guys in so long - I can't remember. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles, plus a small Cajun fry - and a bottle of water - to go. $23 for a bacon cheeseburger, small fries, and a bottle of water. Seems pretty steep pricing for a burger these days. The burger was quite tasty - and the fries also tasted good - they could have been a tad crispier. The place is clean and brightly lit. My family loves Five Guys and have never had any issues at any other location. We were super excited to have one so close to our neighborhood. We ordered pickup - 3 little burgers and 3 regular fries. When we walked in all the teeny boppers working looked miserable, confused, and completely unmotivated. Customers were standing around everywhere waiting for their orders and looked exactly the same. The manager was even worse and had no customer service skills what so ever and was barking orders at everyone including the customers. Our 3 Regular fries - which cost $22 alone were not even full, let alone not one extra fry in the bags. You know their signature move is to pour a pound of fries in the bag on top of the cup already full!! NOT HERE! Complete waste of money and time. Will never come back to this location. read more

I had an excellent experience here, we normally order from the Atlas Way store since this location didn't have the best reviews but chose the haymarket location via the app by mistake but our order was spot on, the food was fresh and the staff was very courteous. I have never been to a 5guys I didn't like except this one. Omg the food was horrible! First off, at the register, the kid scoffed at me when I didn't tip enough. Tips for doing your job are not required and should not be expected at all; they're for going out of your way and doing an exceptional job but all these places are doing this crap now and they almost always make you feel bad if you don't tip. These kids today expect it. These are not living wage jobs. So, I was the only person in there. It took 16 minutes to make a burger and fries. I can only guess it's because I didn't tip well enough but $20 for a burger and fries that take that long and taste like meat from Walmart... I could have just went to McDonald's across the street. The buns were cooking literally the entire 16 minutes. They were oddly dry and hard-ish like 7-11 hotdog buns that sit in a hot location all day long. The fries tasted weird which is a first and the burger didn't taste like 5 guys at all. This place is really off. I couldn't imagine going there at lunch time when things are busy, you'd be there an hour. I'll just go to the Gainesville location for now on. I was going to say 4/5, but felt I should give a 5 to counter the reviews from a month ago. Unlike what the previous people said the service was pretty fast and that was with a packed house. Staff was friendly and motivated. I see it just opened recently so it probably just took time to get everyone trained up. read more
