Cook Out never disappoints! Number 1 fan honestly with a an amazing menu. Everything here hits the mark: the burger is A+ and satisfying, and the hush puppies are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. Service is always quick and friendly, and the sauces are bountiful. The standout for me, though, is the Orange Pop Milkshake. It's a must tbh. It captures a nostalgic, creamsicle-like flavor that keeps me coming back. Will forever be a Cook Out Stan

First time trying this and was really impressed! $14.50 for a burger, corn dog, chicken quesadilla, drink, and Cajun chicken sandwich. Chicken really tasted like it came out a backyard grill. Corn dog had the right amount of crunch and breading. Quesadilla had a lot of cheese for a side! Cheer wine had a nice semi sweet cheery flavor. The burger was similar to 5 guys but a little smaller. The pictures don't do it justice. I'll definitely be back, worth a little drive. The drive thru was busy but it moved at a decent pace. It

First time at a Cookout. Pretty stoked about the selection of milkshakes.

I've wanted to try Cook Out for over a decade after a friend told me about their milkshake selection. I am a milkshake fiend. This location did not disappoint about that. I had a wonderful Peanut butter fudge milkshake. However, everything else was nothing short of madness. The bathroom situation is okay. Only one stall in the room so you can lock the door. That door, though, must weigh 10 pounds. There's no reason for someone to have to throw their entire weight against a door to get it to open. The decor is bizarre. What part of industrial metal tables and silver, red, black walls says, "welcome to my backyard. Have a cheeseburger"? There's a tiny counter for placing orders, and the youngster taking orders was either new or stupid. He just couldn't remember to push the chicken tender button so Jeremy could order some. This happened TWICE because after being disappointed by the size of the patties in his first sandwich, Jeremy went back to get a second burger. And to try for the chicken tenders again. He still had to practically yell, "dude!! Chicken tenders!!" At the kid before he wandered off behind the scenes. When Jeremy asked if he could have two of the bigger patties (like the one that came on my burger), the kid had to call for his manager. They conversed briefly in Spanish before the substitution was allowed. I got the Steak Burger, which came with tomato, lettuce, an entire slab of grilled onion, A1 and mayo. I thought the burger would be moist, considering the two sauces, but I was wrong. Man, that sandwich was dry. The onions were the only thing to give it flavor. I got onion rings and hush puppies as my sides. Both would have benefitted from some salt, as they were fairly tasteless. Crunchy, yes. Delicious, no. Jeremy got some burger with cheese sauce the second time around, and was finally satisfied. The quesadilla side is laughable. I don't understand why that's even on the menu. When's the last time you went to a backyard barbecue and there were quesadillas on the grill? It was a decent amount of food for the price, but none of it was anything I'd crave or want to revisit... except for the shake. I'm sitting here wondering what the banana peanut butter one tastes like... maybe just avoid this location.

Cook Out is a privately-owned restaurant that started out in NC, but there are locations in TN, SC, GA, VA, WV, and KY. This particular Cook Out has been opened for just a few months, and their menu is just like any other Cook Outs, offering items such as char-grilled burgers/chicken breast/hot dogs, chopped pork BBQ, spicy chicken breast fillet, chicken strips, sides, floats, and a variety of milkshakes. We came here for a later lunch, and we ordered: +a Big Double Burger - with no buns +a Jr. TRAY - opting for a small burger, a side of fries and white cheddar cheese bites, and a Cheerwine The buns on the burger were dried out, and the patties themselves were pretty small; having a double versus a single didn't really make much of a difference. The fries could have been freshly made, as they were cold. The curds were good, but could have been more cheesy and melty inside. Condiments are gratis. Service is pretty friendly, and there's ample seating inside; there's no self-serve for drinks here, so you'll have to go up to the counter to get refills. Plenty of parking in their private lot; they also have a drive-thru. +Cheerwine soda +friendly service +drive-thru available +parking available in lot

Cheerwine?!? Count me in! While in the military I been to a few cookouts in the south. I had no idea there was one in Virginia until recently. I was already in manassas for something else and was hungry and low and behold cookout was nearby. If you've never been give it a go. It's literally bbq cookout food. Burgers are better than 5 guys to me they have walking tacos and of course my favorite ... cheerwine!

So I heard so much hype about the cook out that I drove 30 minutes out to try this fast food place. Service is quick, you can sit in or drive thru and we just drove through. I feel like I can't fairly review this place because I didn't get much- just a shake for under $5 and cheddar cheese bites. It came out to about $8 so the real deal here is getting their Cook Out combo where you can sub a drink for a shake for $1, and it would come with a whole entree (burger) side (like cheese curds or quesadilla) and a drink for around $9-10. There are so many options for shakes and I want to try more, but I heard their banana shakes use fresh bananas so I went for the PB banana. It tasted good, just really hard to suck up the straw and nothing spectacular. I heard their cheesecake shake might be better because they use real cheesecake so maybe I can try that next time. A lot of the peanut butter ends up sitting at the bottom so it's not properly mixed in, but they sure do use a boatload of PB. Cheese curds were smaller than I expected, pretty small in size and in quantity. But they taste like cheese curds, no complaint there

Good stuff. B wanted to try this place out and so here we are. Plenty of parking is available. There is a Drive-Thru as well. Upon entering, we were welcomed by the delicious smell of charcoal flamed burgers. Yum! Plenty of indoor seating is available. Restrooms are clean enough. Took us some time to go through their menu, it is quite extensive. The cashier was incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. In no time, our box of goodies was ready. The flavors were all there, nothing was overly salty or greasy. B's cheeseburger was well prepared. His onion rings and chicken nuggets were good too. My cheeseburger was quite pink in the middle. Not all that appetizing. The corn dog and fries were on point. We are big fans of their milkshakes. They were creamy and not overly sweet. Would definitely come back, just for that! I'm glad we got a chance to try it out.

Food was warm and I asked for hot fries! Corndog was just warm. Hush puppies ok. Okra was the best part of this non food event. The smell of grilled meat seemed promising until the reality of the food arrived. Looked like grilled meat from frozen patties. Service and ambience is generically missing. The dystopian black, gray white gave me time to ponder my choices. They got my coke right. I have no plans of driving over here for this ever again. A lot of hush puppies but they had no vinegar. More puppies than cold fries. I tried but...pass. The counter needs to be organized better for orders and pickups.

I ordered Cook Out via drive-through recently. I think I went during off-peak hours because there wasn't a line when I arrived. I ordered quarter lb burgers and milkshakes to go and was surprised at how cheap and fast my order was prepared from the time I ordered until I pulled up at the payment window. I wasn't expecting much for fast food, but the food we had was worse than what I expected. The burger looked very sloppy, and the milkshake was too icy. The service was okay - I could barely hear the person taking the order because the speaker system wasn't great, and the person that gave me my order was in a hurry to get rid of me.

    Christopher L.

I was expecting the "best deal in town," but for $11 for a tray because I requested the hotdogs be the cookout style hotdogs and with 4 onion rings, and a really sad looking "bacon wrap" which was a tortilla with a strip of iceberg lettuce and bacon I was very much disappointed. I will say their sauces are pretty good. The ice tea was exceptionally sweet as well. I was told that I should have ordered their burgers, so I will be back to give it another try. But for now, the hype is just that - hype.

I added this casual spot to my list a couple months ago, but didn't have concrete plans to check it out. Driving to Manassas and back on I-66 from where I live would cost half of my brain cells and all my patience. However, a few friends and I drove out to Shenandoah this past Friday evening, and I made a convincing argument that HawaU would be on the way. By the time we arrived, we were all incredibly hungry and ready to wolf down anything edible. The ordering process was easy: we ordered and paid at the counter, grabbed a seat at one of the few tables, and waited ~10-15 minutes for the food (parts of it are made to order). LOCO MOCO (BOWL) - 9.99 The chipotle-sized bowl was topped with loco moco: white rice base topped with hamburger patty, fried egg, grilled pineapple slice, and a generous pour of beef & mushroom gravy, plus sides of fresh cabbage salad and mac salad. The gravy nostalgically reminded me of the ones I'd get from cafeteria-style school lunches -- thick, salty, slightly starchy, yet oddly comforting. The egg, hamburger patty, and rice were pretty standard, but the familiarity of the gravy tied the whole dish together nicely. Both salads were good -- the cabbage was more light and refreshing, while the mac salad felt a bit heavy after all the loco moco. Since it's my first time eating loco moco, I can't say how it compares to others. However, I found HawaU's incredibly comforting and hearty. It really hit the spot for me, and I ate the whole bowl within 10 minutes. The loco moco is definitely their signature option and a must try. My friends who got the spicy pork bowl and udon thought both were just OK and not special.

Before going in, I read some Yelp reviews and they were on point. The ambiance is clean, decorated, inviting, with soft lighting. The cashier and cook were quiet but nice. Not shouting or overly excited to chat me up. He was soft spoken, cautiously shy, but nice. Once he realized that I was cool and knew what I wanted, his serious face softened and he opened up. The cook easily smiled. There's no music, just sizzling sounds from the grill. There's a funny message on the bathroom floor the sink needs updating and it needs a nice soap dispenser with quality soap. Other the that, the place is nice. Would be a spot to go on a date. The vibe is grown and sexy, not kiddish like other burger joints. So don't expect crayons on the table and high chairs. Now to the food. I ordered the Chicken Over Rice platter. They plated it quickly. It camed with fresh salad, pita bread, and a few French fries on top . They covered everything with their delicious white sauce. I asked to have the hot sauce on the side bcz I wasn't sure how hot it was. I like spicy but some hot sauces can ruin the dish. Their sauce wasn't too hot, but I'm glad I got it on the side. The chicken was moist, flavorful, well seasoned, marinated, and lightly grilled. Everything was fresh, moist, and piping hot. I could tell the meat was halal bcz it had a fresh chickeny taste. If you know, you know. I ordered extra pita bread. The platter comes with 2 pieces but the extra comes with 4. I'm so full! I took half my platter to go with 3/4 of the extra pita bread. I'll save it for dinner. The platters come with a full tray. If you come for lunch, you'll be stuffed probably sleepy like I am rn. Take the rest home. If you come here starving, you'll leave full and satisfied. I only paid $12 plus $1.50 for extra pita bread. That's a steal in this economy! I hope they don't increase the prices after reading this. I'll be back, inshallah . Thanks for the good lunch and chill energy.
