Yesterday was my first time at Five Guys but, thankfully, my friends gave me the heads-up on proportions. Large fry, anyone? The fries were really good, skins and all. One cool thing is that they post what farm that day's potatoes are from. You get a bonus fry! YOU get a bonus fry! EVERYONE GETS BONUS FRIES! You know how we all like getting "bonus fries" in the bottom of the bag? Well, our bag had more bonus fries than what could fit in our four cups. The pop machines were unique or at least I've never seen anything like them before. They had a touchscreen with so...many...options. You could even add different flavors to a pop. Going back to when we arrived, it wasn't long before we got to order. The crew was rushing but seemed to be in good spirits, making the visit more enjoyable. They have peanuts to munch on while waiting but we didn't get through many as food came pretty fast. Mistakes were minor and easily fixed. One was forgetting a sauce BUT...I like how they offered it on the side if we weren't sure we'd like something. They missed the cheese on my burger but it tasted so good that I didn't bother bringing it up. I have no doubt that getting it would have been without issue though. I think their biggest drawback is seating. Forget about personal space and legroom if you get stuck at one of the little tables with four stools...and then add space for food. I don't know if tables are that small at all locations or if it's just that the restaurant is just cramped into a small suite. Yet we still had a good time, enjoyed the food, and will be back. We'll just wait a little later before coming next time. I leave you with this last little tidbit...I'm told they have NO PRESERVATIVES! I'm assuming the condiments do but knowing they don't use it in their food is nice to know. read more

The burgers have never disappointed us. Thought I'd try their award winning fries. They were awful. Load with grease. The bag was drippings with grease and the fries were inedible very soggy and excessively salty. I will still return for the burger but will stay away from the fries. read more

I'll sum it up like this: overpriced bag full of greasy food. It's probably been five years since I had been to a Five Guys, now I remember why. A cheeseburger, small size fries, and regular drink came out to just over $20 with tax!?! I've never understood why they use such a small container for the fries and dump a bunch in the bag. How about a slightly larger container that holds all the fries so I don't have to go foraging through the bag? And what's with the salt? My fingertips were covered in salt after the first few fries. You know what it shows me? How unhealthy your food is as I see the grease stains penetrating the brown paper bag. When I opened the foil wrapped burger, the bun was crushed and soggy. A burger doesn't have to be a sloppy mess to be good. The only bright spot was the grilled onions - not enough for me to even give it two stars though. I seriously don't know how they remain in business. I'll take Culver's, Red Robin or even Wendy's over Five Guys in a heartbeat. read more

Super good burgers and fries. If you get the large burger, you better be hungry! Especially if you get a lot of condiments on it. All condiments you want are free, even mushrooms! The French fries come in a lunch bag an one order is good for two people or more, depending how hungry you are. This is a hamburger joint, so you will not see a large selection of items on their menu. They do sell hot dogs though. Other than that and drinks that's it. read more

I placed an order online, drove to five guys, spoke to the person at the register to confirm my order and began waiting. (Side note- i had a broken ankle and was on a knee scooter) After 20 minutes, I asked if my order was ready. The redhead male staff became visibly frustrated, as they were busy. He then said there were no online orders and I had made a mistake. I rolled my broken ankle self back out to my car to grab my phone for the mobile receipt. I showed the receipt to the angry little man, who again said I had made a mistake. I became upset, pointed to my obvious injury and stated I didn't want to wait anymore, didn't want to talk anymore, just make the order- I had proof that I paid. The angry little man began slamming things around by the grill and fries in order to make his frustration with my "mistakes" clear. Upon receiving my completed order, it was obvious the order was incorrect- I had ordered a burger with bacon, not a hot dog and Cajun fries. I pointed out the error and the angry little man lost his mind. He was somehow able to find my order on the computer, refunded it and refused service. I'd tried Five Guys in Chicago and was very disappointed so I was expecting the same here. Thankfully they surprised me. I'd read a review that suggested getting their little burger and little fries unless you have a huge appetite. That was some great advice and that is exactly what I ordered. I'm not into limp fries so I asked mine to be cooked extra crispy. They came out cooked to an almost dark brown and were perfect. My only complaint on the fries would be that just like in Chicago they give you about 2 to 3 times as many fries as you order. I understand that the restaurant business is very competitive and they need to do something to stand out, but I hate throwing away good food and even though I was hungry when I started eating I still ended up throwing away about 2/3 of my fries. As far as my burger goes it was good. Thankfully it wasn't like in Chicago where it was so greasy that both the top and bottom bun had so much grease on them that they were very shiny. Here the burger was moist but not greasy. They call it a little burger but realistically even for somebody like me who likes to eat it was plenty by the time I added lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, ketchup and mustard. Not the best burger I've ever had but certainly a good one. If you're adventuresome with your burger toppings they have a LOT of toppings available and they are all available at no additional charge. Overall a good experience and I will return here. Next time I'll just have to remember to tell them that I really only want about 1/3 of an order of their little fries. read more

Really disappointed. I brought my two boys with me. It has been a few years since I've been here and I remembered why. Service was really subpar. Nobody seemed kind or friendly. Burgers were fairly small and over cooked and definitely not juicy. More than $30 and we didn't even get any drinks. That is probably the last time I go to this place. Hmm...another burger joint, of course we had to try this place out! When you walk in there's peanuts all over the floor which reminded me of Logan's steakhouse. Menu is simple and easy to figure out. Little pricey for a fast food joint. I got the little cheeseburger and my husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger with all the toppings on it. Ordered online so expected it to be ready or close when i got there since you pay upfront. Expected ready time was 9 minutes. Got there in about 9 min, checked in and waited another 20 because apparently they dont start your order until you get there. So whats the point of ordering using the app? They then forgot to start my order and Lady behind counter blamed me for not checking in even though the other cashier confirmed i had and she just didnt listen. She then hid in the back. Very rude and did not even apologize. Gets 3 stars since food was good. Docked 2 for rude inept service. read more

Usually very good, and fills a craving; not tonight. I ordered only one fry with my 2 burgers because they usually do an extra scoop of fries for every regular fry order. Not tonight. I ended up spending $20 for me and my girlfriend, and then I'm not even full. Not real happy. Also not happy with the bag being soggy with grease at the bottom with the fries. Strain the grease from the fries before serving?!?! Also, if I count on something, because it's happened every time I've dined there, and then they don't deliver, i can't count on them for consistency. Consistency to me is key for me going there often. I'll probably be back, as the burgers with crispy bacon are unbeatable, but will likely skip the fries next time. $4 for one smallish order of fries that are dripping with grease. Come on. Burgers just the way you like it! I recommend starting with the Little Cheeseburger and splitting a Little Fry with someone, that's a good amount of food for lunch. This location also has that Coke machine where you pick from 100 different combinations. The only downside is they need more seating - it's pretty disappointing to not have a place to sit and eat for dinner. Hopefully they can make some patio seating or something. Also it's on the higher price end for a burger, but the quality is good. read more

I've been to a lot of burger places - even In And Out. But when I get a craving, Five Guys is the place to be. They are amazing. They make your food fresh at the time of order. One of the best burgers I've ever had, period. And their fries are incredible, too. Freshly made from scratch, from Idaho potatoes that they bring into the restaurant - no pre-made, frozen fries. Keep it up Guys, great food and great staff. read more

Five Guys has a delicious burger and fries and are consistent from locations to locations. My daughter really enjoys the Grilled Cheese sandwich, but they don't have shakes there, which was a disappointment to her. It did not prevent her from indulging on the flavored sodas from the fancy machine (It's nice they have two). They are fast and efficient, and always top the bag with a fair amount of fries. read more

The most delicious burger I've ever had in my entire life. Better than applebees, better than ruby tuesdays, better than any burger I've even made in my own kitchen. Absolutely blown away by the bacon cheesburger. Get it with pickles, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms, and hot sauce with a large cajun style fry. Oh myyy goodness. Might be expensive, and you can taste the heart attack, but for every once in a while, it is the flat out best burger there is. 5/5 stars all day long read more

Just your typical run of the mill burger joint...... a tad pricey if you ask me for just a simple burger. Fries are tasteless and soggy. I won't be returning. Red robin and checkers are MUCH better. I'm so glad Holland finally has a checkers. For a tourist town i sure wish we had better restaurants to choose from. read more

I ordered a bacon burger and they gave me a bacon cheeseburger. I am lactose intolerant and called to complain. They offered me a gift card to fix this but after a month I received nothing. So, I called back again and again they apologized and offered to send something. It has since been a week and a half and still nothing. My husband and I have been waiting for a good burger joint to open in Holland. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll keep waiting. Although better than Bagger Daves, the food at Five Guys was just okay. The patty and bun were pretty good, but the "grilled onions" were raw onions just heated up and the mushrooms were from a can and slimy. The fries were a generous serving and had good flavor but were soggy. For the price, I expect a great burger and fries. My biggest complaint, however, and what will keep me from returning is that the woman taking the order simply added large drinks onto the order for everyone in our party (at about 2.60 each) without asking us if we wanted them and then made us wait while she tracked down a supervisor to cancel as we wanted water. She repeated this high pressure tactic for all following customers. I appreciate people asking if I would like a drink, but I won't put up with people charging me for things I didn't order. read more
