Service: The restaurant was relatively slow due to being so newly opened, but the service was great. The staff worked hard to answer our questions to the best of their ability. Food: The menu had a few mixups with the things that were labeled gluten-free, and the staff seemed unclear what the answers were until another person (owner) could be available. This is critical for my friend not to be sick. In the end, my dining partner kind of did her best guessing and was happily correct. So yummy! We saw this in yelp before our trip and made our first stop. We ordered the chicken bowl with rice noodle and Asian chipotle sauce and the pork wraps with peanut sauce. The food was so refreshing and filling! They could've rolled my wraps a little tighter but other than that it was great! The inside of the restaurant was peaceful with painted rice hats all over the place. The service was fine. Not designed for much interaction. Just a grab and go style. My wife and I lunched at Up Leaf Cafe today for the first time, after an enthusiastic endorsement from a neighbor on Nextdoor. We had a good, but not perfect, experience; we will, however, be returning to try other things. I had the Vietnamese BBQ pork rice noodle bowl. The noodles were delicious, and the balance was perfect between all of the various ingredients. The crispy shallots are a good touch, adding a nice crunch and a pop of flavor. My only quibble with this dish was that the pork could have been sliced a bit thinner, and grilled a bit more, to get some of that delicious BBQ char on the meat. Their "Vietnamese Sauce" (Nước Chấm, maybe?) was tasty too, and worked well with the meat, the noodles, and the pickled daikon radish. My wife had the Korean-style beef salad. The bulgogi was good, but not exceptional (she had just made bulgogi at home a few days earlier, so we had a recent basis for comparison). Unfortunately, the salad had what she describes as a faint and vaguely musty flavor, as though the lettuce has been sitting too long under plastic wrap. It all appeared fresh (no wilt), and apart from that, the salad was good but didn't stand out. "I won't get that again but will try other things," she said. The staff were friendly and efficient, and someone (perhaps the owner) checked on us while we were eating - a nice touch. We will be returning to try some of their other dishes, and recommend them to anyone in the area. You might be able to find better or more authentic Korean or Vietnamese food if you head to Grand Rapids, but to have a place like this nearby here in Holland is a real treat. read more

For a new place, this place has such a cute & simple aesthetic! Drink options tried; Dragon Fruit 'N' Cream smoothie was delicious & one of my new favorites! The Strawberries 'N' Cream smoothie was very light and didn't have that strawberry flavor but it wasn't bad at all. This place is definitely a quick and grab for Vietnamese fusion. The Balance Delight Tofu Rice bowl has lots of flavor to it once all the sauces are added in! I really like this rice bowl for being filling and mixed in with a fresh, delicious flavor! The Vietnamese BBQ Pork Rice bowl was also great!! Just wish there was more meat but it did feel like you're at a Vietnamese restaurant eating this. All the flavors compliment eachother. Spacious place with signature Asian bowls, custom bowls, and rolls. The interior was nicely finished and even has a lounge area. I had a Vietnamese pork bowl on rice noodles, which was yummy, very textural with soft and crunchy elements, and came with rice vinegar sauce on the side. So good.
