First time here and I'm pleasantly surprised. Fast and friendly service, which at a burger place isn't always the case. It's clean, decently priced and made the way you want it. The down side? Well it's more then I would have liked to pay but all and all not too shabby. Next time I think I will try a shake. This time was just the humble burger and fries. Anyways who doesn't like these fries is either lying or just doesn't have good taste. What's not to like? I couldn't find anything! Unlimited toppings on Burger's!!!! I don't add anything bc they come great already. If you want a burger with more toppings then In N Out this is the place. (still love me some dbl dbl animal style add peppers) What I think sets them apart is the fries!! You can get them regular or Cajun seasoned and man they're both good and the portion size is crazy. You definitely can share a regular size with 2/3 people. Only thing that keeps me giving 5 is they don't really have combos (or I didn't see the option) other than that I will say and yeah prob get a lot of criticism for it I prefer 5 Guys over In N Out mainly bc the fries are so good!! I've been going to this Five Guys for some years now. It's always been good. I don't know what happened tonight - did the manager go out of town and leave all the new people alone to struggle? Are they no longer training the employees? We ordered two burgers, drinks and a small order of fries. Our little bacon cheeseburger was missing the bacon, grilled onion and grilled mushrooms. The other burger was missing a topping, too. A young woman at the counter was very helpful and got me the missing toppings. Another customer was up there getting his missing toppings, too. The fries were undercooked. The drink machines were leaking all over the floor. Burger was tasty as always and the meat and toppings were as good as ever - far better than most places. My favorite burger place in El Cajon, I can get the exact burger I want, how I want it, and it's perfect every time! I love the French fries, too, of course, and I usually order too many. I eat mine with a side of mayonnaise, European style. The music at this location is loud and blaring, which some of us love! If it's too loud for you, you're too old! Or, you can take your order to go or eat outside. But it adds so much to the staff's cheery attitude that it really enhances the atmosphere to me. On my last visit, the cashier who rung my up was the sweetest person ever--I would have loved to take him home with me!!--and when was the last time YOU thought that about someone working a register at a fast food joint? Dear Five Guys, The staff is horrible here. We clearly explained to the staff our order and to make sure the fries are crispy or at least cooked but have had multiple issues with cold undercooked food. We are generally a fan of Five Guys, but something's gotta give...We went in hoping for a quick warm meal. My husband spoke to a lady who even looked like the manager or supervisor on duty and asked her to please make sure the fries were not mushy and explained our previous problems in the past. She made a comment that they always make them mushy, ( Sorry but I don't know a single person that likes mushy cold fries), but assured us our food would be cooked fully and kept under heat and so we waited for our order, but when we went to check on our order we noticed the bag was not under the heat table and ended up picking up cold soggy burgers and undercooked fries...again! Second time ever at a five guys and definitely my last. After the initial shock at the price of a cheeseburger, we ordered fries / salted. We got water and had to wade through a flood in the restaurant to get some, then about 10 minutes later the burgers were ready along with cajon fries. We brought the fries back in for the salted fries and was told they would bring them out. Once we were done eating our tiny happy meal burgers I went inside to retrieve cold fries. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and Cajun fries from Grubhub last night. Seriously one of the best meals I've had in a long time! I could have a meal of the Cajun fries alone they were that good. My burger was cooked perfectly and just the right amount of toppings. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about my meal last night. I just might have to reorder. The only downside is price. Went to the parkway plaza 5 guys for the first time. I had heard a lot of comments through the grapevine about how good the burgers are there. Well, while the store was clean and tidy, the music up so loud that the cashier could not hear the orders so several items had to be repeated. A few items were not included in the final ticket even though she repeated what we wanted. We did not go back as there was then a line by then. The burger was cooked to the point for being hard and dry, something I am not a fan of. I probably will not go back but that doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve a try. Ordered curbside pickup, tried calling 4 times to let them know we were waiting, finally decided to go in, and the food was just getting started on being made. Got home, our "bacon burgers" had no bacon, our fries were almost raw potatoes and half the typical serving size. Hamburger all the way, minus mayo. BEST burger EVER! Look, I am the cheapest person I know. I am one of those guys who eats off the dollar menu and this place is not cheap. However, the food is so good I would pay whatever it cost. Besides, the portions are good, the food is fresh and it really is worth it. A regular hamburger actually has 2 patties and they pile the fries into the bag. A small fry feeds 2 people easy. Can't say enough how good this place is. They even have one of those awesome soda fountains that lets you make basically, whatever flavor drink you want. If you enjoy a good burger, you have to try this place. read more

Came here for dinner after being out shopping. It was still a bit early for dinner so the place was pretty empty, there were only a couple of other customers. Although there is seating in the restaurant, I was surprised to see ow little there actually was. If you have a family I would certainly suggest bringing your food home and easting at your own table. The staff was friendly and the service was very quick. The food portions are huge. An adult can easily order off of the children's menu and feel incredibly full once you finish your meal. Their fries are always great and salty. I like the Cajun fries but there is always just a bit too much Cajun, I would suggest mixing them with a regular order of fries to get the right amount of Cajun. The milkshakes are also always great, I love the Oreo milkshake. The one thing I truly hate about this chain is that there are no cheese varieties. There are so many amazing cheeses and they can seriously take a burger to the next level so when I don't get a choice, I always get mad. The price is a bit expensive but as I said, the portions are huge so it is pretty worth it. Overall, a pretty good place to go for a burger and fries to go. read more

I'm only writing this because I literally almost broke my tooth. I ordered a large Cajun fry and it had a screw in them! The screw was so hot and covered in seasoning. So CRAZY!! I actually bit it without knowing it was in there I could of gotten extremely injured. This is NOT okay. They only offered to refund the order. The fact that they didnt notice is beyond me. Veryyyy upset and ready to take the steps in order to get compensation. They literally seasoned the screw as if it was a fry!!!
