Late night, post game dinner stop. The kid was uncertain concerning what he wanted, so I made the decision and we hit 5 Guys. Surprisingly not crowded on a Saturday night. We were helped immediately. As expected, the price is a little up there but do you really mind if the quality is there? You pay for the burger and a majority of the toppings are "free." Burger was absolutely on point. I got a hot dog as well, because.... why not? Dog was good as well but the burger is where it's at. Fries may be at the top of the list for chain fries. My son got a milkshake and when I asked him how it was, he said "good." He's a teen now, so good means very good. Ugh. Place was clean. Everyone was attentive and there's a big barrel of peanuts that you can snack on while you wait. Only downside is the price. Love this place! Wife and I have come here multiple times! Food is always great. I love me some burgers, and FG knows how to do them better than most places. I will say that the staff could do a slight better job of cleaning up the front of house, but its neat enough. Customers should also do their part in cleaning up after themselves. There usually isn't a line to order, but there is a line to pickup! I love all the toppings that you get to choose from. I really wish that they would add the Cajun spice to the burger as a topping... I have to get it separately... No big deal. Burgers are always delicious, but messy, especially if you get more than 4-5 toppings. Sometimes simple is best. I get the cheeseburger with bacon a-1, both onions and L-T. Online ordering: Ordered directly through the website (powered by Olo). Was pretty uneventful, but I did notice that it didn't seem to work properly with PayPal key. Burger was ready for pickup quickly and they didn't put the fries in the bag until I picked it up, which was nice. A consequence of this is that you do have to go to the back of the restaurant to pick it up. Some oil did make it to the bottom of the bag, so consider this for your car. Food itself: Typical Five Guys quality, which is to say plenty of food and pretty tasty. Fries are over-portioned and salty as usual. Order was correct. I pan fried up the extra fries at 280°F in butter to make breakfast potatoes the following day, which makes for a crispy treat if you can't eat them in one go. The quality ingredients that they offered to their customers compared to Burger King or McDonald's is completely different and that's why it's my favorite. I love that they offer a lettuce bun option instead of a regular bun for those who are trying to lower their carb intake. This is where I go when I'm craving a fresh, substantial, fast food burger. This shop stacks their burgers high with toppings and grills their burgers fresh, which makes all the difference. Great flavor and they are very generous with portions. The double bacon cheeseburger is my favorite here. Fries are excellent. Be prepared: you always get more of them than you order, which is a good thing! No frills here. Burgers come in tin foil and fries come in a brown bag. The hot dogs are also excellent. My last trip to five guys on 12/14/2023 at Rockaway, NJ mall I got something extra in my bacon cheeseburger - a nice shard of SHARP piece of GLASS. It's a good thing I didn't bite into it. I can only imagine what would have happened if I did. I did cut my finger on it when I was wrapping remaining burger up. I went to cashier and all I got is I'm sorry, here's a bandaid and a refund for the burger. I think it's safe to say I won't be coming back nor recommend this place. Today I went to this establishment around 12:45pm to pick up 2 orders I then went to place my own order because I was hungry and I had just left the gym. My blood glucose monitor went off letting me know that my sugar was dropping really low. As I began to order the short female at the expediting side yelled out to the manager who was the cashier at the time , to not take my order cause I'm picking up food. I asked the manger are you serious, he said yes the food will take to long. I asked him so is this Fiveguys new protocol ( standards?) he said yes I informed him that this is your franchise's policy? He said yes, I asked this is from the DO ( Director of Operations?) he said yes and every-time he gave me a attitude about it. At that point I didn't even want to eat at this location because how can someone tell a customer all you can get is a fry or a soda cause the food takes too long. From my understanding during peak hours there should be food cooking and staged ( in the second zone and first zone because if you stay ready you don't have to get ready) I understand cook less more often but peak hours requires food to be complete within 10 minutes why would food take longer then that especially when I was already waiting almost 5 minutes for 2 other orders?! I don't recommend this place and I will let others know about this franchise and how they treat ppl with disabilities. Folks should I have passed out due to lack of service then these teenagers would've acted like they cared ( not only for my well being but, sales and customer service) folks stay away from this place. read more

I never realize until now that I had a Five Guys in a local strip mall next to Lowe's on Route 17. So I did a quick hit by getting my favorite test food, hot dogs. This place is a nice size and I don't see having a lack of tables here if you want to sit and hang and it's much cleaner than the NY joints. I order a Bacon Hot Dog with just mustard and radish with a small fries. Don't get bigger fries sizes because Five guys always reload more fries into the bag so a small good end up being a large. That cashiers was nice and friendly and ask what I wanted on my hot dog since I didn't realize that they had lots of options, not like some places that only have a 2 or 3 condiments at side counters with the salt and pepper. The hot dog was pretty could I will add some sauerkraut next time to make it better and the fries are great while still hot but get soggy when they cool down so eat fast. This location is awesome and the staff is definitely amazing. Parking is great as well since its in a strip mall. My go to burger is the bacon cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, onions and BBQ sauce! It's hefty (double patty), juicy and packed with flavor! My go to fries are the Cajun fries. I normally opt for a small as it can literally be shared by 2-3 people. I've never ordered the large but I assume it can feed a family easily! Located at a strip area off of route 17 North is Five Guys. They have a good amount parking spaces which they share with other shops to accommodate their customers. There is a good amount of tables at this location with a self served drink station. Typical Five Guys menu with the burgers and fries. I usually get the single patty all the way, the double is too much eat. Not a real fan of double meat hamburger's anyway. They are usually generous with the fries they give you. If you order the regular fries there's enough for three people can eat them. The restaurant is clean and you have unlimited roasted peanuts to eat while you wait for your food. A burger and fries chain that originated in the Northern VA/DC area which has been expanding in recent years and just recently reached this area of New Jersey. Their new store on 17 in E Rutherford open this week and the kid wanted to go so we stopped in today. As with the couple of times I've been to the VA/DC locations, the burgers were fresh and tasty and the fries were also quite good. Both burgers and fries are made from fresh, not frozen stock, and it shows in the taste of the food. The menu is short. You can order single or double burgers, single or double cheeseburgers, with or without bacon. You can also add any or all of the 15 free toppings offered. Also available are Hot dogs, cheese and/or bacon dogs. Again, available with the toppings. For the non meat eaters among us they also offer a veggie sandwich, not a "veggie burger" (basically a bun with as many/much of the toppings you want). They also offer a grilled cheese sandwich. I really like the freshness of the burgers and the taste and texture of the fresh cut fries. That said though, I think the prices are just a tad on the high side. $15 for 2 (less than 14lb) cheeseburgers, 1 order of fries and 1 drink seems a bit much, as does 60¢ a slice for cheese (the difference between a burger and a cheeseburger.) On the other hand the doubles are probably a decent value. As are the drinks at $1.79/1.99 as they are refillable. The peanuts which they give away (big open box sitting in the dining room) are also a nice touch. All in all, if the taste of fresh ingredients is something you appreciate, then you can do far worse than Five Guys. read more

Four stars for Five Guys, hoorah! Overall, Five Guys is my favorite fast food chain (well, really, the only fast food chain I frequent), and this particular location is the greatest. The food is the usual Five Guys fare -- I love the choices. You can get single patty or two, and any combination of toppings and sauces. Go ahead and try the "Cat D" -- single patty, raw onions, jalapenos, and BBQ sauce -- and your life will never be the same! Great fries (cajun or plain) and free peanuts! This location has some of the best customer service I've encountered in a long time. The employees always seem to be working hard; if not cooking, they're ringing up customers, cleaning tables, and even straightening chairs. In three words: greasy, heavy, and huge! First, if you're allergic to any nuts, don't walk within 10 feet of the door. Crates and crates of peanuts, it smells nutty, FULL of peanuts, everything in cooked in peanut oil. It takes a long time to get a burger and fries, 30 minutes is just to long. They are also a leading factor in obesity, the portions are insane. A small fry feeds 2 hungry people (at least!) and they were so greasy the bag they came in actually got over-saturated and tore. The burgers were okay, nothing you couldn't get at a old diner. Once you add fries and a drink it is a tad pricey but i have never walked out of there unhappy. Super delicious and you can tell it is fresh.
