You can't even sit inside and enjoy your meal anymore, and now you're ordering from a computer instead of having the experience Steak 'n Shake was once known for. But what made this visit even worse was the fact that our order was wrong through the drive-thru -- and the restaurant wasn't even busy. Mistakes happen. That's understandable. What's NOT understandable is how the situation was handled when we brought it up. Instead of simply replacing the incorrect items, we were basically told to take the items off and eat it. That is not acceptable customer service. It's honestly a sad excuse for what used to be a great fast-food restaurant. Steak 'n Shake has lost so much of what made it special, especially since sit-down dining was taken away. The food and service experience just isn't what it used to be, and unfortunately, it seems I'm not the only one who has noticed. It's not in my nature to leave a bad review, but this experience needs to be addressed. Sometimes you have to speak up and give your two cents when a place has gone this far downhill. I truly hope someone at Steak 'n Shake takes these reviews seriously, because the brand I remember growing up with deserves better than this.
