My husband and I wanted to go out for a burger so he suggested the 5 Guys in Burke Center. Well, our first trip will be our last trip. Not only was the burger tasteless (I had to put salt and pepper on it to have some taste) but it cost $31 for two hamburgers, french fries and one strawberry shake (I had water). Food is always amazing and happy there's one in Burke, however, when I order online and it says your pick up one is 7:02p and it is now 7:22p and I'm still standing in line for my pick up food... sooo not okay. Work on your timing. read more

This place isn't too far away, so we've gone a couple of times. Generally we like Five Guys. We used to go to the one in Fairfax all the time. At this place though, they've screwed up our order more than a few times. On our most recent trip we ordered a hamburger with onions, mayo, pickles, and lettuce. As was the norm, the cook staff was joking around. Normally I could care less, but.... When we got home and opened the bag, the burger had no top bun, no lettuce, and no pickles. When I called, the kid who answered said he wasn't the right person to speak to. He said he'd get a manager. I could hear him talk to the manager in the background and she said she didn't have time to discuss any complaints. So when he got back on, he told me he couldn't handle the complaint over the phone. He told me to drive back. I said no. So he said "well maybe some time you can come in and if I'm here we'll take care of you." Really? read more

I noticed some critics complain about the speed of service, and claim it's too slow? Whenever I call in for an order, it takes them "8 minutes" to get it done, so do not believe the poor reviews. Last time, I was about 30 minutes late in picking it up and Jacob, proactively made another burger for me because he didn't want me having a cold lunch. This is great hospitality! And even if it takes a bit longer sometimes during busy hours, keep in mind that they make your order fresh, from the time you order it. If you want super fast, fake burgers, go To McD's. Four adults 2 children for lunch on a Saturday around 1pm. Place was hoppin. You can watch everything being prepared. A bit too much socializing by the staff behind the counter. Order taker was very on the ball as we changed our orders a couple times. Bottom line everything was perfect. Hot and fresh. Burger was one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Not cheap. If you're looking for cheap and you're in a rush go to Mc Crappy or "Burger king". Felt the price was reasonable considering the quality of food was very good. I'm not a big fan of fries but these were delicious. Place was clean. Staff on the customer side of the counter was too busy cleaning to engage in any chit chat with each other. I'm a big fan of five guys...except for this new location. Tried it for the first time today and they were very busy so I understand if there are some mistakes. But they got my order wrong not once but twice. Not to mention the quality of the food was moderate at best. Mushrooms/onions didn't appear to be grilled. The sauce I asked for seemed to be more of an afterthought (little to none) and the whole sandwich was luke warm. Even the fries weren't up to par with the other locations! The fries! But that's just my opinion. I saw other customers experiencing similar complications/waiting a long time for their meal. Would not recommend this location or at the very least, only when they are not busy. I hope you have a better experience than I did. read more

A nice addition to the area. Clean, very spacious, very nice staff. Their burgers are really tasty, even though one of them was kind of oddly shaped but hey, they are hand made so it happens. If you're new to Five Guys, keep in mind that all the burgers are fresh and cooked to order so it's going to take longer than your usual fast food place. We've eaten many times at this conveniently located outpost of 5 Guys, usually top notch. However, this past Sunday evening, Sept. 9, we were disappointed. First of all, my little bacon cheeseburger was prepared without the bacon. Once I realized it, I went back to the counter and the employee wrapped up several pieces of bacon so I could add that to my burger. No fuss about it, which I appreciated. I was just glad I hadn't gotten carry-out. However, my biggest gripe about this evening was the temperature in the restaurant, which was uncomfortably cold. I was wearing long pants and a long-sleeve top and I was still cold; my husband was in shorts. Everyone who came in and sat near us made comments about how cold it was. I finally became so uncomfortable I went to the counter to see if they could adjust the temperature. The employee apologized, and said that the thermostat was "locked" and they were unable to change it. The outdoor temp was 61 degrees and the restaurant was noticeably colder than that. I hope that restaurant management will find a way to make the dining area a comfortable temperature for patrons while accounting for the heat in the cooking area. read more

OK, so we were thrilled to have a Five Guys in Burke--finally a decent burger place. But, after several months, this place is a let-down. When I want Five Guys, I'll go to the Fairfax restaurant, which has never let us down. What's wrong in Burke? After coming here numerous times, hoping that the crew would finally get its act together, the service and the quality are just not up to Five Guys standards. Last night, it took 30 minutes to receive two burgers and a hot dog. The crowd was standing around waiting, several going to the counter to complain, and definitely not having a good time. The orders were called out totally randomly, not in order at all. For example, number 6 was followed by number 19, huh? Not the way Fairfax is run. Now the quality of the burger. I go to Five Guys for a juicy burger; these were very overcooked and well done dry. The burger patties were so flat I thought I had mistakenly gotten them at McDonald's. The fries, as others have commented, were really soggy. What is the problem? Lack of organization behind the counter. I kept looking to see who the manager was--if there was one on duty, she/he was well out of sight. The high schoolers making the food, well, at least two of them anyways, were hopping from one station to the next, i.e. no assembly line production, while the others worked in slow motion. I felt sorry for the couple of kids who were really trying to get the food out, but it was a losing battle for them. Afraid this will be our last trip to the Burke location. read more
