Great way to start the day. This is the Farmers Hash. Perfect blend of eggs, potatoes, veggies and toast. Everything was cooked just right. My wife had the Breakfast Wrap, which she adored. Service was awesome. Our server was friendly, attentive and helped us plan our tourist day to Vancouver. Just note that this is a "cash only" establishment.

If you never venture out to White Rock but you're finally game for the 45 minute drive, this is the place to stop on your way to the beach. It's in a perfect location, is easy for parking (for two hours, at least), and it's located just at the end of Johnston road. It's probably the cutest little diner in Vancouver (or just outside, anyway) which means a lot. And in case you didn't know, it's warmer here, and the view when you walk down is absolutely beautiful. Yes, through the trees at the top of the infamous "hill", It might even be better than what can be found in the city. So with slightly warmer weather--what's not to love? I adore the retro decor of this little place, complete with old-fashioned booths, a counter bar with cute little stools, and silver screen photos of days gone by that adore the walls. While the lunch is nothing to write home about, (average burgers and average salads) the breakfast is diner-good complete with those skinny hashbrowns that no one seems to carry nowadays. Note- One thing you must remember is that keeping with the retro theme--they only take cash. Although I'm giving this a 3.5 for food, when looking for a lunch/brunch place on your way to the beach, this would be my first choice. The staff is friendly and even Archie and the gang would approve (of course). It's just not quite a four, but that's part of the diner feel, now, isn't it?

I love this diner!! Fresh homemade food served by friendly staff. It's a funky, cool old fashioned diner that is owned by a local family and frequented by both locals and tourists. If you are in the Five Corners area you definitely should check out this café.

A bit different than the standard breakfast menu. I had the halipino omelette and my partner had the mushroom omelette. I'm sure it is made with three eggs as it was a lot. It came with thin chopped potatoes and toast. There was plenty for us. This is a small dinner and the tables are the 50's theme. Chairs were newer. Big wall scenes enhanced the place. The owner was extremely friendly and I believe his wife does the cooking. Service was great and there were about 6 tables on going when we left. All were served quickly. The food came hot. It didn't sit around under food warmers. The place opens at 830 which I thought for a breakfast place is a little late for opening.

This "diamond in the rough" cafe is just what any hard-working business needs as the go-to next door joint Conveniently located as they are, they're available for dine-in, take-out, or Food Delivery apps such as UberEats/SkipTheDishes. NOTE: menu prices are subject to change when using food delivery apps- so shop around! This time around I ordered UberEats, for pickup. My coworkers have ordered from here numerous times and finally.. today was my day. The ambiance was clean, open, and inviting upon entering and I was greeted with a big smile from the man behind the counter, serving two dine-in customers. I was welcomed and given my order, waiting, very quickly, by the front door, and was soon on my way back to work. The Cajun Chicken Burger was tasty, and cooked just right, though the spices were to be desired. I love my Cajun food, but here, they were overwhelmed by the other accoutrements on the bun itself. It almost may as well have been salted/peppered at most. That said, the Two juicy pieces of white meat chicken? How can you go wrong! The only way, would be if you don't ready yourself with some napkins - my chicken was sliding all over l, out of the bun, and my hands were covered in mayo. But, it was worth it to pop those birds back in and chomp away~ My fries were crispy, crackly, and fluffy on the inside, without too much grease. They were fried to perfection and when paired with the delicious gravy (tastes like chicken!) I was beyond pleased. Smooth, creamy gravy with savoury notes, that tastes homemade? Yes, please, all day~ To round it out, I also got myself an English Toffee coffee to go. Hot, smooth, creamy, and buttery all rolled into a delicious brew, to go. Again, how can one complain? If you're looking for a tasty bite with a smile, at a slightly higher cost than fast food (because this trounces those joints), in a convenient location, that hits it out of the park every time with what they dish out, then Rosie's door is open and waiting for you to sit down and prepare to be satiated~!

The portions are huge and every dish is made with quality ingredients. French onion grilled cheese with shoestring fries: I got a nice cheese pull out of this, it satisfied all my cheesy cravings. It came with a generous amount of fries. Denver-ish breakfast bowl: order this if you want a nice variety for breakfast. I added avocado and it was so satisfying. Bacon eggs benny on housemade buttermilk biscuits with hashbrowns: fresh hollandaise over perfectly cooked eggs. The buttermilk biscuit is so much better than an English muffin. I absolutely loved the shredded hashbrowns. Strawberry milkshake: you need to try their hand spun milkshakes! Topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, I felt like a kid again.

It's bright and airy, even on a rainy nasty day on the West Coast. The decor is awesome in our mind, very diner driven and classy. The glass into the kitchen itself offers a glimpse into the line cook life. The service was top notch, the space is clean and tables are turned with precision. Nothing to quibble with overall, but the food itself was just average, and just that alone is not where a small place like this should be. The hash browns were bordering on overdone and were not plentiful. One piece of toast is always a pet peeve of mine, though the multigrain was good. The Romesco really had little taste and was almost a little dry. I had trouble speeding it around and ended up eating most of it in one bite, which I am sure is not the ideal scenario. K had the grilled cheese sandwich with onions. The fries were great but the sandwich was lacking in cheese and onions which isn't ideal. We also had three go arounds with our English Breakfast tea and the cream curdling once added. The date on the cream was far in advance and the cream was cold, so not sure what the issue was. I actually asked specifically for milk when ordering, so it didn't excite me to have this happen. They finally brought milk with the third tea try, K used it, I didn't bother. Small thing, but I like my tea while waiting for my meal, not with it or halfway through it. That all said, everyone was happy, seemed to enjoy the food and service and there appear to be alot of locals. We will certainly give the Douce another go, and hope that it's a far better experience.

From the hostess to the server to the runner, not one of our interactions was great. No one was friendly or even smiled. We thanked them so many times and they were nonchalant. I don't even think we were needy. They were just not friendly at all. Food was delicious! I can't say that enough. From the pancakes, waffles, taters, and omelettes, the food was stellar. I got the Greek Frittata Omelette (Spinach, Feta, Sautéed Onions, Mushrooms, Topped with Freshly Diced Tomatoes & In-House Garlic Olive Tapenade. Served Open Faced with Toast & Pan Fries) and it was MASSIVE. The flavor is on point with fresh veg and amazing flavors. The tapenade is such a unique and nice salty touch. The potatoes are the perfect salty side! Loved the food, prices, atmosphere.
