We had been coming in for about the last year and ordering the Dublin Spice Bag fries... but as of Jan 2026, these are no longer on the menu. We ordered the parm fries, which were good, decent size order and priced well. We also ordered the Thai sweet chilli chicken bites, but very disappointing. This was just a chicken strip cut into infant size bite pieces and topped with sauce. Laughable... we didn't take a pic. Save your money on this one and just order chicken strips. And lastly, we ordered the gyozas, but these were undercooked and sent back. This is the first time that we were disappointed, so will maybe wait a while before trying them again. Our first time here, walked up from the beach, seated promptly and waitstaff were friendly. Space is airy and has an outdoor section that's nice. There was a music set up off to the side with a DJ/harp/canned musak. Furniture is brightly coloured but seems like it's from Wayfair as the chairs weren't sturdy. Asked for a double espresso, it was brought in a very large coffee cup so that it was luke warm and bitter. First waste of money. Ordered the patty melt, no bread, and side salad. Waiter said dressing was homemade. The burger was small and dry as a bone and barely a tbsp of cheese not melted. The dressing was so sweet and tasted of no flavour I'd ever had, so it was left. The Rueben was a laugh. Hardly any meat or cheese. Bread was so greasy. Barely any sauerkraut, so it wasn't really a Rueben. The small amount of Caesar salad that it came with had alfalfa or broccoli sprouts with shredded lettuce. And it's expensive. I don't usually give negative reviews but someone dropped the ball on our meal. The server never came back until she was clearing our plates and that's when she asked if everything wasn't ok. Cute cafe and good service, however once I received my food I was so disappointed. The Avocado toast was missing the guacamole spread as Included on the menu I was given one single cherry tomato cut in half on top of the toast, it was extremely dry with no butter seasoning or spices or anything on the toast. Not only that but the cook served a literal packed ball of arugula on top. Eggs were eggs and the pan fries were deep fried and spread around the plate to make it look a bit fuller. On the plus side the food was fresh - the orange and didn't taste bad, just very regular. Also, why is the coffee $4.00!!! read more

A fabulous little cafe in the heart of White Rock not far from the beaches. I had heard about the Morrison Cafe' from several people who raved about their food. While in White Rock and looking for a good place to have brunch we decided to give it a try. Inside is a combination of 1950's style dinner with a modern twist. Very clean and comfortable booth seats. We had a 3 egg omelet with cheese, spinach and mushrooms. It was a generous portion and totally delicious. The waitress was friendly giving us insights into the cafe and why it is a staple restaurant in White Rock. Unfortunately I didn't think about writing a review until after we had eaten. However, I decided to take some inside and outside pics for reference to go with this post as their food was excellent! We will definitely return to try the lunch menu. While we love the ambiance of the place (fun coloured seats, bright and airy), and the waitstaff were courteous, providing fast service, the breakfast we had was very basic. L'Morrison's Cafe has a history of good food but service especially recently has been poor. This morning we waited outside at an uncleared table for 15+ minutes before we asked a staff to clear. A server with long red hair came out shortly afterward and promised us coffee right away. We left after another 15 minutes without service. The cafe was not overly busy. Ownership should note... So very disappointed in the Reuben Sandwich today. Small portion of meat, hardly any sauerkraut and the cheese was almost non existent. Came here about a month ago with my girlfriend. Her Belgian waffle had large chunks of crystallized sugar in it. The waffle was crunchy and gross, she only investigated about halfway through eating one of them. When we told the waitress, she went to the kitchen, came back and said "There aren't supposed to be chunks of sugar in the waffles, must be our sugar manufacturers mistake". She then proceeded to give us the full bill with the waffles still on it. After clarifying again that their waffles should not have chunky bits, the bill did not change. We proceeded to pay our bill and leave, feeling really weird about the situation. The waffle should've been replaced or deducted from our bill. read more

The cafe has a traditional European look and is cozy and well decorated, especially the vintage public pay phone. We got here just in time for breakfast. Even though it is Saturday, the cafe only serves breakfast till 11am. We ordered the chorizo hash and eggs, cappuccino milkshake and the black witch (black pudding). The hash was extremely fragrant and delicious with the monterey jack cheese and chipotle hollandaise sauce on top. The black pudding was kind of disappointing - overcooked and really dry. The bacon on top had a pool of grease. Not the most appetizing dish. The milkshake was flavourful with just the right amount of coffee. Service was unexpectedly slow and unfriendly(just our server). So... this once was a great breakfast spot. "Too small to fail" is unfortunately on the backs of their shirts where they can't read them. This was our THIRD attempt at breakfast and third fail. 1st fail... 10:45 and they refused to serve breakfast that is served until 11:00. Apparently not 11:00 today. Maybe yesterday? 2nd fail... 10:40. Given the lunch menu and had it explained that they've shit down breakfast now and can't still serve it because "the eggs would be too dark". Apparently eggs get darker after 11:00. And again Breakfast is served until 11:00 yesterday?? Today's fail... Arrived at 10:30. Was ordering breakfast at 10:35 only to be told "there is no poached eggs now they've put the poacher away". I attempted to order a piece of black pudding with a poached egg and Hollandaise. ZERO effort to serve anything close to what I asked for.... I got a side plate with a slice of black pudding. I will now vote with my dollars. This place has really failed. They are small but not TOO small to fail. Go elsewhere for breakfast. Seriously. They can't tell time. read more

Cute little spot to hit up after walking up and down the 1001 Steps. I ordered the daily special; corned beef sandwich and Greek lentil soup. Went with the bf, he got an omelet and toast and I had the turkey wrap with a salad. Both were very tasty, were brought out quickly, and came with everything we asked for. The waitress was nice but talked to us for too long when we were trying to look at the menu which was awkward and annoying. She also never brought milk out for the coffees or asked if we wanted any. The coffee tasted good for diner coffee and we got carrot cake to go, which was above average (I bake a lot so am fussy about my desserts), although the icing was too sticky and sweet for my taste. Everything was good, the reason I'm not rating this place higher is that it was pretty expensive for what it is - small portions of diner food. 2 coffees, 2 small meals and 2 pieces of cake + tip was well over $40! This place has been around for many years and changed hands a few times. I even worked there as a waitress as a youth. My favorite place for breakfast in South Surrey. The menu has many popular dishes as well as traditional Scottish food such as haggis and black sausage that are hard to find else where. Portions are the right size, not over sized, and the food is made with care and love. The salmon Benny is my favorite. I had that same dish at Morrison's and a 5 star hotel downtown (Yew at Four Seasons) in the same week. Morrison's was better by far. Love this place, and will keep going back. read more

The food was phenomenal for a cafe and I would have paid 2 to 3 times what I did for the gourmet Cajun chicken with goat cheese salad I had had I ordered this at a fine restaurant. We have lived in Ocean Park for 16 years and Morrison's has been one of our favorite local cafes. We loved it so much we used to come at least once a week for breakfast. However, in the last 5 years things have rapidly gone downhill from the service to the quality of the food. My husband and I had been working outside in the yard and wanted to grab a burger last Thursday evening so we headed to Morrison's. When we arrived the staff met us at the door saying they were going to close for an hour. The hours posted on the door did not reflect that. This is the third time that has happened. They've either been closed outside of the posted hours or were in the process of closing early. So you never know if they're going to be open. They do still have very good burgers, which is what I usually order if we're not there for breakfast. It just seems that no one is minding the store. The breakfasts are not as good as they used to be. It seems less care is taken during food preparation. After last Thursday night when they met us at the door and told us they were closing for an hour or so, my husband says he will not be going back. I went with a friend after a walk this morning for a quick breakfast. I had about 45 minutes and wasn't worried because they're usually very quick and there were only a few people in the cafe. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food and then we're not given cutlery, so had to continue waiting a bit for that. Seems like the server wasn't at all concerned. This has happened a few times before, which is why I'm writing this review. It appears no ones cares about the quality and service. Very sad when I think of how good it used to be. read more

By 11, we were all seated and at 11:02 the server returned to announce "if you were here for breakfast, you're too late. It's after 11 and they're very strict". I am local and have walked there for years, in fairness the food has been good but terrible service over these years has now completely dissolved my interest in eating there. I have tried my patience too many times and watched as other customers get frustrated with the servers. I have seen people leave upset with their experience every time I have dined there.
