Met some friends for breakfast and tried The Wafflers. I decided on the Bantry Crepe, not really expecting the artful masterpiece that came out which was large enough for two people to share. Fresh made and fresh ingredients made this delightful and tasty. I also tried the lemon tea, which must have had at least half a lemon in the glass. Strong lemon flavor which did not need any additional sweetener. The staff was very nice when we ordered and they bring out the food to you. Waffles are my favourite type of breakfast food, so I was eager to try The Wafflers. It's cute little restaurant right on the main road by the beach. The interior of the restaurant is fun and laid back. A great space to gather and chat. When it comes to the food... The food was really lacking. I ordered the bacon and maple waffle, and found it quite sad. Literally just bacon sitting on top of the waffle with a side jar of maple syrup. The flavour wasn't bad, but for the price we paid, I expected a little more than waffles on a plate with bacon on it. read more

We stumbled upon this little cafe after venturing around the pier and craving sweets. This satisfied our cravings and we loved that there were games to play while eating or while waiting for the food. My friend and I went with a pretty basic combination "paradise" (strawberries + whipped cream) and added ice cream on top for some extra goodness. We sat and played games and it was a nice little stop. Overall the waffle was good but definitely have to give rave to the wonderful shop owner/worker who tried to chase us down when my friend left her purse at the booth. Recommend this place! read more

Not only do the food look amazing in pictures displayed in the cafe but its original taste is equally amazing . Crepes are so soft , toppings inside can be chosen from variety of meats and vegetables. Sunny side up egg in the crepes makes it even more full filling. They serve waffles , crepes both sweet and savoury ; all hot and cold drinks like coffee , tea and milkshakes or smoothies. Extra add ons for extra edge are also available. Two visits, the second being a follow-up to the highly enjoyable first evening by the water. First the good: These waffles are better quality and better dressed (ice cream, syrups, sauces, fruit, etc.) than any I've had world wide, including Benelux. Belgium, Netherlands, nor Luxembourg have nothing on these guys, nor do the street food vendors in Bangkok, and that's saying a lot! They proudly use whole eggs which make a huge difference, but they have an egg white only version which they readily admit isn't the same. Coffee is excellent as well, being large, rich, served properly hot and to order along with food upon request so that it doesn't cool off. Chef's kiss here, for sure. So why would I give only three stars for such a delicious little hidden gem getaway with great views of the water, so near the walking pier? Simply, it was the cranky and abusive old man (owner?) running the place from whom I would no longer entrust to make my food after only our second visit. After agreeing to serve and seat us curbside ten minutes before their 8 p.m. closing time, their credit card machine seemed to offer so many cryptic options for completing payment that even HE couldn't figure it out. He finally reset it to the point that I (clearly!) stated that I would pay cash for the tip and would just pay the main bill by card. He immediately began slamming dishes around and barely pretending to mutter about how outrageous it was that at 10 minutes before close we would leave no tip. It began to extend, so I had to interject that we had clearly stated that we would pay a tip in cash and that this was something no employee should express to their customer. I was sure to remain at the counter, sensing lingering resentment after no apology whatsoever, to observe his preparation of my wife's food. Yes, we tipped generously and thanked him for serving us at that late hour. In fairness, the lady who had served us the day before was kind, helpful, efficient. and gracious. The prices are somewhat inflated, so it's a shame that the service suffered so abruptly the next day. Take a chance, maybe? read more

Honestly, I didn't pay a lot of attention to the price and I'm American so it's better priced in US dollars. The food was amazing. I find the lower ratings hard to believe. Food was delicious! Cozy little place with a nice view of the water. And the people were very nice. Had a little issue with me getting double charged, but they were able to reimburse me for the mistake. And they checked up on us to make sure we were doing good. I got a hot chocolate, which was on the darker side, if you don't have a sweet tooth you would like it. The Duke Chocolate crepe was very good. I found this waffle restaurant very average, nothing amazing. Portions are quite small considering the price, which is disappointing. Flavours aren't anything spectacular, coffee was really good but again a bit overpriced. There are a lot of options for breakfast in White Rock and the surrounding area, to be honest, I would have rather spent the same amount of money on something more substantial. If portions were bigger or prices were cheaper then I would recommend, otherwise I wouldn't. read more

Waffles, games and a perfect view of the beach. What can go wrong? This place really was amazing. The ambiance is quite plain, I would've liked to see some more minimalist decor. Maybe it's because the place is fairly new? The seating was pleasant, as there were multiple board game and puzzle options to keep us entertained as we waited for our waffle (which was made to order BY THE WAY!!). My friend and I ordered the Oreo waffle and chai latte. I'm not usually a waffle a person but this was by far the best waffle I have ever had. It was smothered in chocolate and caramel sauce with crumbled Oreo and topped with a generous amount of quality ice cream and whipped cream. The plating was very nicely done and was quite appealing to the eye. The food was even more appealing to my stomach haha. The chai latte was simply delicious with the perfect amount of spice, and a lot of cinnamon, which I enjoyed. If you like chai lattes I would highly recommend this one. The girl helping us at the front was also very sweet. She offered us water and at the end gave us a stamp card along with coupons. I will definitely be back! read more

Came to white rock just to eat dinner and gelato but passed this place while walking to find a picnic table and the smell coming out of this place mmmm... We had to try it. There was 5 people in front of us and most of the seats were taken but 3 tables. It was quite busy. The shop could accommodate around 15-20 people max. My gf and I tried the hazelnut crunch waffle~ After ordering, we waited around 25 minutes for 1 waffle we also received complimentary water but that's ok cus we just ate dinner and we were stuffed so we didn't mind waiting. They had a bunch of games on some of the tables such as connect four and jenga, we had jenga and played while waiting. We also received a stamp card for a free waffle for when we come back I think only because at one point the cashier that was working forgot what we ordered and had to ask what we ordered again. We were also honest when she asked, we could've gotten away with getting a free waffle right there and then. But (good karma) you don't get anything out of lying! We basically inhaled this waffle, when it came out it was done within 5 minutes. So goood!! We will be back to try more!!! read more

I used yelp to find this place and based on the reviews my husband and I gave it a go. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was tidy and clean. We ordered hot chocolate and a Banana Nutella Waffle to go, as we wanted to enjoy it on the beach. We didn't care to open the box to check the waffle we had gotten. When we got to the beach and opened the box both my husband and I let out a gasp. We could not believe what we had gotten. As you can see in the picture, never did we think someone would plate a waffle like that. We looked at the pictures that they have on their website, and the plating of the Banana Nutella Waffle clearly does not look like the one we got. We were not offended by it. However, we wonder if it was an honest mistake or done on purpose. The person making the waffle and/or packing it should inspect the final product. We had a good laugh but someone else might have reacted in a different way. The hot chocolate was a bit lukewarm. The waffle was light and toasted and tasted ok. read more

Finally a great waffle place in White Rock! If you're looking for a chill place, with great staff, awesome service and a great location (right across the ocean) look no further. The Belgian waffles taste delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The presentation is on point and each bite is as great as the last. While you are waiting play some Connect4 or Jenga on your table. We stumbled upon this cute place while on the White Rock promenade. The delicious smell of fresh waffles drew us in while we were still considering what to get. We eventually chose the Nutcracker, as it seemed not overly sweet. Indeed, the only super sweet element on the waffle ended up being a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The waffle itself was standard- fluffy on the inside with a slightly crunchy interior. I did feel that they skimped a bit on the toppings, but overall, the waffle was nice. The man who was working at this place when I went in was SO RUDE and because of him I'll never consider going again. I walked in with my boyfriend who was planning to buy a coffee, and I was hoping to use the washroom. The man behind the counter seemed busy so I carefully walked towards the back to see if I could use the washroom, to not interrupt and this man came out from behind the counter all angry, so of course I apologized and let him know my boyfriend was going to buy a coffee and that I would like to use the washroom if possible. I am a very polite person so I'm not used to being treated so badly, especially by someone who's working at a business. What happened to customer service? This VERY RUDE man yelled "NOTHING FOR YOU" at me like he was the soup nazi from Seinfeld and basically forced me and my boyfriend out of the shop. He had so little patience that I could hardly understand that he was even kicking us out because he yelled at us as we were trying to figure out what was even happening. I wasn't even going in there just to use the washroom, we were going to purchase something just to be considerate. The place had customers seated at tables so it possibly being close to closing time is no excuse. This was by far the worst experience I've had at any type of business EVER in 25 years. read more

Super unimpressed with the business side of this place. Have yet to actually eat there because the customer service is attrocious. My boyfriends family lives in white rock and we heard about the place from a friend. We are waffle addicts! Live for them. We are both away from school so at Christmas break we made it our mission to eat there. Well we walked by one day and it was closed. No signage posted with holiday hours or anything. So we went home and looked them up online, and saw they were to open the next day at 10am. We walked down again, nope closed. Called the business phone number listed with no answer. I resorted to messaging on Instagram and asking for there hours, explained I was slightly upset about the fact of no holiday hours being posted. The solution was "you and your guest can come down at (extremely specific time and date) for a free waffle" ... ok thanks but that date won't work for us, we go back to school. So we went down the strip a bit to the ocean yacht club for their $5 brunch, and waffles! They were delicious by the way. Great service too :) read more
