Buy 6 waffles for a discounted price
    Nancy L.

I was a little disappointed at how my waffles tasted. I finally had the chance to get then yesterday and the lady told me if I got 6 then I'd get a discount. Seeing that I needed breakfast for this week, I thought why not? 6 waffles for $16, for the waffles that are priced a $3 each. If you buy ones over $3, like my yuzu (Japanese citrus) then you'd get an additional charge of the difference. This morning, I heated my yuzu waffle up like she advised. 1) the yuzu flavour was too light and I could barely taste it. 2) the texture of the waffle was too doughy. I shouldn't be chewing a liege waffle the way I was. Also, the interior of the shop wasn't somewhere I'd want to sit down and chill with friends.

Plain looking storefront, but don't judge a store by its front!

Had the original waffle here, and I must say it was a pleasant surprise! The batter wasn't cloyingly sweet like most other Belgian waffles; instead it was only mildly so, and I was surprised by the small sugar chunks in the mix that added to the texture and made up for the sweetness. Service was attentive, and they even heated up my waffle for me! This spot is easy to miss, so look out for the shop sign they place outside their store!

Mmmm....waffles!! Located in the heart of Steveston Village, this is in a small strip mall, with a very plain storefront. Many would drive/ walk by without even noticing it. But follow the sweet smell, and it will lead you to this hidden gem. Inside, the owner's children roam around, but your attention will quickly turn to the perfect round fresh Liege style waffles. They are smaller, sweeter and denser than "Belgian waffles". They make their waffles in house, without eggs and preservatives. They're made with real butter, honey and a special sugar from Belgium called pearl sugar. Vanilla (original) , Cinnamon, Maple, Matcha (Grean tea). Dark , Milk or White Chocolate. The plain ones are $2.25, and the ones dipped in chocolate are $2.50. There's a couple of small tables and seats for customers that want to eat in. Since they were closing, I decided to buy some to take home. The owner recommended that I reheat it my toaster, to get the outside a little crisp, and the inside warm and soft. I bought a matcha and a vanilla one. At home, I made some tea, heated the waffle up, and savoured a delicious afternoon snack!

Anything in Steveston is a hidden gem if not on the main strip :( or ;) lol. Nice little mom and pop w/ bright orange painted walls, and an open kitchen/bakery so you know it's fresh. Nice Frenchmen and japanese wife possibly, friendly. Explained a bit of each waffle in display case. all kinds, so chose the caramel, but not to get too excited w/ caramel oozing out, but rather, added to the dough. this was yummy. Other white chocolate, a meh, melted over on top. there's also creme brulee too which I try next time. nice and clean place. Also have breakfast waffles too.

What a perfect light dessert or mid-day snack! The consistency of the batter is well-balanced - not too heavy but enough to give you some chewy goodness. There are a variety of flavors: from chocolate covered to Matcha green tea to apple to maple. My fave is the cinnamon one ~ a light tasting waffle perfect with a mocha or hot chocolate! Buy a box of 6 for $12 (with 2 chocolate covered waffles max) A nice, quaint place to catch up with friends. Plus it's a cute bonus with the owners' kids just peeking over the counter as you pick your waffles =)

Damien's does Belgium waffles right. Just visiting Vancouver for the week and my cousin brought me here. The place has a classic bakery feel with a large back room with all sorts of baking equipment and a small storefront for customers to enjoy breakfast. I got the matcha tea flavored waffle with whip, strawberries and blueberries. It was really well balanced and hit the spot. French press coffee was good too. Def a great spot if you're looking for Belgium waffles or a great breakfast.

This is the waffle gem of Steveston!! My husband is in awe! He ate his white chocolate waffle in 2 blink of an eye...i have never seen him indulge. The place is family owned and they were genuinely nice! Small little store. They have the best waffle in Richmond!! And yes, they do supply Cafe Medina. Order the belgian hotchoco too..you will forget your name after drinking it.

We tried the tiramisu eggette, and it was everything I needed in that moment: warm, gooey filling with a lightly crispy exterior that softened just enough with each bite. The texture was spot-on -- a perfect balance between chewy and crisp, and the tiramisu flavor was rich without being overly sweet. It's one of those treats that instantly makes you feel like you've found a hidden gem. Definitely a must-try if you're wandering the market and craving something sweet. Note: I gave it a three stars because I thought the prep areas could've been cleaner and tidier. Maybe I just had a bad batch, but it didn't have that brown sugar sweetness that is signature to Portuguese egg tarts. Combined with the fact that this was $9, I wouldn't go back to get this filling. So don't believe the hype from YouTubers and influencers out there. If anything, I'd love to try the tiramisu filling the next time.

The batter didn't have that typical eggy fragrant smell or taste either. The black sesame flavour was quite lacking as well. I think they need to toast the black sesame first before adding it to their batter. It was so mediocre I only had 2 pieces. I remember their egg waffles being so good, hot and crispy many years ago. No wonder the shop is always empty now whenever I pass by. Their drink prices have gone up, too. For drinks, there's so many other better options in Richmond, and they all cost the same price so don't waste your money here. Also, they no longer have a public washroom. The sign says out of service but I am pretty sure the staff use it themselves. I understand why they'd do this although I don't know if it follows the rules for cafes. I would recommend Eggette House for egg waffles instead. Definitely won't be coming back.

The walls are decorated with pictures from Europe and the teacups are very "British." Besides scone and tea, you can get regular food here as well such as fries, salt & pepper chicken, and radish cake to name just a few. You can also get cold drinks like juice & bubble tea, and bubble tea drinks here too. So...not your typical British style Afternoon Tea joint. Kind of half restaurant, half tea place. My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.
