We live close by and have been passing by this place every single day so really wanted to try it out unfortunately won't be coming back! Ordered the School with jam and cream. The scone had powdered sugar on it and was doughy. I have never ever had a scone with powdered sugar on it let alone for it to be doughy. chai latte was absolutely delicious! Lunch we ordered a veggie Panini, which came with a side salad and the dressing salad and the dressing were fantastic veggie Panini not good at all. It was not properly toasted, and it was very wet as a sandwich. I've had much much better sandwiches. It's such a shame I had put a lot into my expectations for this place and was looking forward so much to having a lovely delicious lunch and experience, but it was quite the opposite. High Tea for a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday. We enjoyed ALL OF IT. The service was great, we loved our semi-private location and a lot of the items reminded us of Mom's cooking. We will definitely come back even if it's 30 km away. Will recommend to our high tea event seekers. read more

The customer service was wonderful. The staff members were very pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and very comfortable. I really appreciated that they offer gluten free high tea! The sandwiches left a lot to be desired. They were very dry with a small amount of filling. The GF scone was great and I purchased some to take home. The "devonshire" cream was terrible. It was thin and I'm quite sure it was sweetened cream cheese. The GF sweets were very nice. They were moist and flavorful which is pretty good considering they were GF. My sister booked a high tea service for some of our family today at the Langley location. What a wonderful experience!!! The servers were absolutely great. The gluten free and regular trays were beautiful, the food was delicious and we could not finish all of the delectable treats so I even have a few items for later! I was walking by and stopped in for cupcakes. I bought 2 chocolate raspberry $3.50each. I took them home and they were decadent and delicious. I wanted a pie but am glad I didn't after reading the other reviews. I would like to return and try different flavors of cupcakes. We have visited this location for many years. I thought I would finally provide a review after all this time. Service and food is never consistent. Staff here seem to have more bad days than good as they are never happy to provide customer service. Selection is very limited. We have ordered cakes before from here that were very dry and tasteless. One time for Father's Day they gave our cake away to another customer. Parking is horrible even for pick up only. Today was the last time we are making the drive and supporting this business. There are so many cupcake locations now that there is no reason to buy from here. read more

Tracycakes is a special place for our family!! Having two girls we have had many tea parties with friends, High teas with Grandma, Aunties and Cousins! At many of their different locations! I think my favourite might be the first one in Ft Langley but that might just be because that's when my girls were little! This location is in a heritage building on five corners in Murrayville! It is both pretty and rustic...which I love. The simplicity of the white and black decor is lovely. They are know for their cupcakes all over the lower mainland! These are my oldest daughters favourite cupcakes...she likes that they keep them cold in the cooler and of course the butter cream icing! They package them in cute little boxes so they are always a special little treat to take to someone! A friend and I were there one morning when the chef was doing some recipe testing and got to sample some delicious crepes! So good! The parking is somewhat limited but there is a lot across the street for over flow parking. Make sure you make a reservation for High Tea...you may not be able to just drop in! But there is another cafe across the street if they are full...they do not serve High Tea though! It's a lovely place for tea and we will surely be back many more tea parties, breakfasts or lunches! read more

Drove by this quaint house and had to take a double take, it's a bakery/tea house! Had the mid-afternoons munchies so stopped in to pick up some baked goods. Got there right before closing and scored on a nice selection of goodies leftover at the end of the day. Wow, I was about to post a review and saw the owners comment. To someone who appears to be a long time customer. It was a very odd dismissive way to respond, felt like gaslighting and completely insincere. This terrible attitude towards customers clearly permeates into every level of this business. Yikes!! Is there negative stars? After this review and observation the response was deleted. Now back to my review after reading all the other reviews, I should have done this first and would have saved time and money wasted at this establishment. I threw out the poor quality desserts. The cupcakes were over cooked and the cake portion tasted like saw dust. Other desserts were horrible and scones tasted like bisquick. I agree with the reviews about poor food quality and customer service experiences. Their staff appear to hate working and customers are treated like an inconvenience. English Tarts in Mission is a wonderful experience in suburbia. Krause Farms has wonderful pies. I will stick to my YVR choices in future, especially for a quality high tea. Only thing going for this place is 51 flavours but if quality is poor or hit and miss then that loses value quickly. read more

We stopped by while there was a 2 for 1 afternoon tea special for the month of November. There is a small selection of tea to choose from but was still a decent selection. I found the afternoon tea service to be somewhat basic. The highlight was the scone! However, it was not served with Devonshire cream. It tasted like a blend of sour cream mixed in. That was a bit disappointing for me as I always look forward to that cream over some amazing scones. Service was a little slow. We had to ask for hot water to be refilled for our teas as our server was also working the cash register. It is a cute tea house in the area for those who live close by without having to commute to downtown Vancouver for some of the nicer options. read more

I'll start off with the good: the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere of the place was nice. The decor was Winner's basic but that's fine, we're allowed to have a little basic in our lives. We came in for the high tea and had a great time, though the pastries in my opinion left a lot to be desired. I've had a lot of high tea in many places so I acknowledge I'm a bit of a snob, and I also live in vancouver with a huge variety of venues, but it felt like some of the treats on the tray were unconventional... and not in a good way. The bottom tray: the sandwiches were good, but the quiche was undercooked and still in the tin. There was also a sort of pesto cheese mini pinwheel or brioche type thing that was alright but nothing spectacular. They did offer something visually different though. The middle tray: the scones were massive (I love big scones, I also love getting more bang for my buck, but high tea should be about the cute and dainty: ie, small scones that fit nice on the tray. Big scones are for non-aesthetic tea time). The scones were very tasty though! The top tray: This was the one that was the kicker. The mini cupcakes were cute and tasted good (are they high tea appropriate? idk but they were a highlight for me on this sad tray). I did absolutely love the earl grey lavender cookies. I was surprised to see a bran muffin there, which I can guarantee you is not among the usual texture or flavour profile for high tea. I love bran, but this isn't breakfast. Also this wasn't a couple mini bran muffins, but a full sized one quartered (we were splitting the tray four ways). I'm seriously wondering why the bran muffin was included and presented like this. Finally, we had some cut fruit on the tray that seemed to be thrown in as an afterthought. Good quality fruit but -- ironically -- it was cut too small. I don't think it's crazy to say that you shouldn't need a toothpick to grab a high tea treat of a tray. The tea: I was surprised to find mightyleaf teas on their tea list. They're great, I also enjoy them, but why are we doing bagged tea during what is supposed to be an "elegant" meal as their own website claims? Y'all. If I wanted mightyleaf I'd make myself a pot at home and eat it with regular sized pastries. I go to high tea for the fine tea and the mini pastries. Elegance. Overall, no cohesion, no thought given to presentation beyond cut off crusts and buttercream frosting. For me, it's the attention to detail that makes high tea special, and the reason why I'm giving 3 stars, because this was not high tea. I still ate the food, had a good time and enjoyed being there with my friends. But at that price, I will go somewhere else for an "elegant" culinary experience. read more

We had reservations for high tea. We walked in and we were not greeted by the 3 staff that could clearly see us. We awkwardly stood at the "please wait to be seated sign" until one of the staff came by only to tell us to hang on while she took the table that we were standing next to order. There were a bunch of tables free so the place wasn't busy. We saw the only clean table for two and assumed it was ours so we ended up seating ourselves. All was fine, we showed up early and were seated and told to look over the tea menu again the high tea displaying 30 dollars as the price. At no time was I told even with multiple phone calls from them about making sure I was still coming in for my reservation that because I scheduled it for Valentine's Day I would be charged 34 per person. We only found out after being confused on how our bill came to 71 dollars and we called in where they made excuses and ended on how the "prices were listed everywhere". Please stay away from this place. Incredibly expensive for what you get, the service was horrendous so much so that the waitress chatted with her brother instead of assisting us. read more

The service was great, the tea was excellent (I recommend the earl grey cream or the earl grey lavender), and the food was delicious. I'm so disappointed in what's become of Traceycakes. The tea was the highlight of our whole meal. The chicken in the chicken and brie sandwich was microwaved and the quiche was over cooked and rubbery with very little flavour. The borscht was under cooked and crunchy. And it was cold. I love this place. Nice bright windows, clean and well kept. I love the charm of this place and this will be my go to place with the gfs in the townships of Langley. There were options for gluten free cupcakes and even had vegeterian soup. The decor is so pretty and authentic to the time the building was built. Even had pretty tea cups and saucer. We had a gluten free chocolate cupcake that was so good and Earl Grey tea with hand picked lavender. I would have given them 5 stars if the menu was just a little broader and more options. Took my mom for High Tea today for her 81st birthday. We were really looking forward to it. Sadly, we were very disappointed. The service was extremely slow. We waited over 10 minutes at our table before being recognized by any staff. By the time we got our High Tea menu items, our tea/coffee was cold--we were served nearly an hour after arriving. I won't be recommending this restaurant to any friends or family, sad to say. Paying patrons deserve more. read more

Brutal service and the food was subpar. Super small, messy sandwiches and no variety. I left here still starving. The staff miscounted the number of guests at our table and didn't give us enough food. Not only that, they were rude and confrontational when we asked where the rest of the order was. Our server did not top up the hot water for our teapots until we asked (by that point, everyone's teapots were empty!). And finally when we wanted to pay our bills, staff were either standing around talking amongst themselves or examining the display of cupcakes, completely oblivious that a line had formed at the till. Our table spent $200 and the staff couldn't have paid less attention to us. Not recommending this place and never going back. We were greeted, sat down , ordered tea from a small selection, then out came the food for the High Tea, I was so looking forward to yummy sandwiches, fantastic scones, and most of all Double Clotted Cream, the sandwiches were most certainly plain, the scones were ok, but what they claim to be Clotted Cream , most certainly was not, it tasted like cream cheese with sugar added, huge disappointment. I LOOOOOOVED Tracy Cakes! I was looking for a cute place to have tea with my girlfriends and this place was perfect for that! We did the high tea special and I was most impressed with their baked goods. The staff were also very kind and accommodating. I had a friend who has a nut allergy, one friend who is a vegetarian and another who is gluten free and dairy free. I had many conversations with the staff before making reservations and they were so kind and patient. They spoke with the kitchen to ensure me my friends would be able to eat there. We also wanted to have some cupcakes to go but I was too late to pre-order but the staff said they would leave a note and make sure a dozen cupcakes would be put aside for me the next day as they sell out quickly! The atmosphere is also very charming! It is very small and cozy. It is like you're visiting someone's home for tea. I will definitely go back again to try some of their other items! read more

I went to Tracycakes Bakery Cafe sat feb 20/2016 for a surprise Birthday Party for a friend. There was 11 of us we had reservation for 11 people for 12 noon When booking the reservation we asked the gal at the cafe that we would be their till 3 pm she said that's good. There wasn't another big party coming into the cafe till 3 pm Shortly after arriving we ordered Tea and some ordered coffee. Then we ordered our food. Which some had sandwiches and soup others had sandwiches. Others had salad and soup. They Tracycakes Cafe were upset that we didn't order High Tea - Finger sandwiches scones and cream preserves assorted Danites with fresh seasonal fruit Which was $22.50 per person Which when we booked at the time we told them that we couldn't order ahead because we didn't know who was going to have it. The gal that work there said I will put you down for 6 out of the 11 people that are going to have it. We said no!! Again we don't know who will order. Maybe no one will!! Then after we were there 1 hour the gal that works at the cafe said you all will be out of the cafe by 2 pm. We said what are you talking about. When we booked I told you that we needed the table from 12 noon till 3 pm you said that you didn't have another big party into cafe till 3 pm Now you are telling us we have to leave at 2 pm she showed me the appointment book. They had it written down from 12 noon till 2 pm we said that's wrong. I didn't want to argue. Also we wanted to bring our own cake into the cafe. They said that they would have to charge a fee of $2.00 each so we could bring in our own cake. So we ended up buying a cake from Tracycakes cafe. We ordered our food at 12:45 pm and our food arrived at 1:30 pm. One of the gals never received her lunch till most of us were finished with our lunch. Not good. One of the gals with us had to send her lunch back 3x they still had it wrong when she finally got it. We were rushed out of there. The other big party arrived for 2 pm and was hovering over us. We finally finished our lunch at left the table at 2:15 pm This has happened before. But we all thought we would give Tracycakes cafe another chance. Service was not good. They never asked us if we wanted more hot water for our teapot or if the gals that had coffee wanted refills and several of us asked for water and it never came. They never came by our table to see how everything was. To see if we wanted any dessert. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. We stumbled upon this cafe today accidentally as we were in the area to visit Porter's across the street (which was closed for filming). The ambience inside and out is very appealing and quaint. My boyfriend ordered the soup of the day and a biscuit (for $8) both of which tasted heavenly. The biscuit was hot and fresh and the soup was very flavourful. I ordered the avocado toast which I would not recommend to anyone. On the menu it sounded delicious with feta and lemon but It was served on one piece of bread and the lemon was two very measly slices that I couldn't have squeezed unless I was looking for an awkward and unsuccessful struggle. They ended up promptly on the side of the plate and without that kick of lemon the meal was definitely lacking. My meal was also $8 but it was more like a snack with regards to that one sad piece of bread. I think I just made an unfortunate misstep ordering the least appealing item on the menu. I would come back for high tea but next time I will ask more questions before I order to make sure I get what I am expecting. Also our waitress kind of flaked off after bringing us our food and never checked back to see how it was. The cafe was full with a lot of people enjoying the high tea special and everything looked lovely. There is even a nice spot in the corner to accommodate parties. On this day a birthday party for little girls was underway which just added to the charm. If the mom of that girl ever reads this review - your party idea was amazing!!! Such a cool mom. After looking high and low and comparing reviews I decided to book tracy cakes the morning before myself and bridesmaids were to go dress shopping. I booked the high tea a month in advance. 4 days before the Sunday high tea I received a voice mail saying that it would be canceled and moved for a "private venue" which fully booked the restaurant. Then later received email correspondence stating "closed for renovations" after being very disappointed I agreed to let tracy "turn my frown upside down" she catered a high tea at my townhouse complex. She completely forgot about my order of gluten free high tea (one of the reasons I specifically chose Tracy cakes) my sister had to eat fruit and watch everyone eat... later that day a friend posted on Facebook she had her daughters birthday at Tracy Cakes the day of our canceled reservation. The food was okay, Tracy is definitely more talented as a baker, but lacking management and organizational skills. I would not recommend them to anyone after my experience. There are many similar businesses in the area who can provide similar services and better high tea. (And they won't cancel your reservations last min) read more
