This was my first time visit to this Five Below store . I am surprised to discover this is like a Marshall and Ross mix but price are a lot cheaper. Small toys are $3 , make up pallets are $5-$7 . They have everything a discount store ( 99 cents store ) has but in better quality and materials. Therefore , they are $5 and up . It carries items different from the 99 cents store . It has better make up ( foundation, eye shadow , brow pencil, eye liner, brushes ) etc . The rechargeable battery is $10 and the phone cases are $7 for iPhone ) . Nice headphones are $8 each . There are T shirts with 60 % cotton and diff designs for $6 . I bought some cosmetics and two T shirts . The most amazing thing was that I could refund my items within 90 days with good condition recipe . In Daiso and 99 cents discount store , they're are no refunds . All sales are final . I like Five Below the refund policy . If I buy something for the school craft project... I can refund all the unused items . Way to go ! read more

Was here yesterday trying to return an item I purchased online. I ordered 2 Kuromi t-shirts in XL thinking they were kids size but nope, they're for adults so I tried to go exchange at the store. Website showing 5 in stock (but they weren't). I then asked if I can just return the items, but customer service (Indian/middle eastern) lady refused to accept my return stating she couldn't do it without a barcode and I didn't have one since it was purchased online. I showed her the receipt and website where it states that they will accept any returns with original receipt or online order confirmation. Not at this specific store apparently, so I emailed corporate and they confirmed that returns are accepted at ALL stores. Well, that was a waste of my time, so upset I drove my lazy ass there on a Monday morning for nothing. ***UPDATE*** Corporate issued a refund and I didn't have to return the shirts, will be donating to goodwill. Still giving this store 1 star for not honoring their policy. read more

This and the other location in Fremont are good to have close by. I can usually find what I'm looking for here, (at both stores), since both stores are pretty big. However, it seems like they need more cashiers at both stores to help you at self check out. Only one station was open. I saw an employee at what looked like a help desk, so I asked if she could help check me out, but it seemed as if she wanted me to wait in the self check out line, with an attendant to help. They need to improve checkout lanes and times for a smoother shopping experience for customers. You used to be able to check out items yourself at these stores. I don't really understand their method of working. It would save customers time and the store I suppose to hire more workers and cashiers. I was feeling quite impatient today since I was with friends and we were trying not to spend too long in the store. This is an ok store to kill time, but keep in mind may take a while to get in and get out, I suppose. read more

Great new addition to the Pacific Commons area. It's located on the same side as Kohl's and Burlington Coat Factory. As you can guess, everything is $5 or less. While they have a variety of sporting/fitness, tech, pet, makeup and personal care items, their larger sections are the toy and candy sections. Lots of squishmallows, stocking stuffer type of toys, craft kits, anime, and other fun things kids would love. They also have books, posters and art supplies for sale, as well as a holiday section with Christmas decor. There's a small section for home decor in the back, wish it were bigger. Found lots of cool things here and I'll be back for sure. I almost forgot to mention but they also sell Mylar balloons and regular balloons for birthdays and other celebrations, along with party supplies. It looks like you can purchase them and they will fill the balloons with helium for you. Prices range from $1-5 I believe per Mylar balloon. By the way, in addition to the usual credit/debit payment options, they also take Venmo and PayPal. Update: Visited this store on a Friday, Sunday and Wednesday (yes three times in a week...what can I say, my kids love this place) and I noticed the inventory was slightly different each time. Things that were there Sunday were gone and replaced by different merch when we went back. So if you see something you like, get it because it might not be there next time. Bought 40 units of an item for a fundraising event. During checkout, I asked if I could return the items if we did not sell through them. They told me no problem as long as you have it in the original packaging and you had the receipt. Fast forward to today... I had to return 28 units. I was initially told that she had to get a manager because they DO NOT process returns over $40. Where is this in your policy? Why wasn't I told about it initially? They were not scanned appropriately by the original associate, and I ended up with an item in a different UPC number due to the mis scan. The employee returned 27 of the items and would not give me back the money for the 28th item. She ARGUED with me that it was not on the receipt and would not let me keep the item. She spoke to me in the most condescending tone. I've worked retail. You simply tell the customer, I cannot take this return. YOU DO NOT REFUSE THE RETURN AND REFUSE TO GIVE THE ITEM BACK. I had physically walked into the store and immediately walked straight to the return area with my items in a reusable bag. The way she treated me, she basically insinuated that I stole from the store. She had to get a manager to help her because I kept telling her she was wrong, and the manager processed it under a different UPC. I would have been ok taking the item home so I guess that was a salvaged scenario. There was NO apology whatsoever for the behavior. I will never again give this store another penny. read more

I've been wanting to visit this store for months just to see what all the hype was. So my friend and I drive up to Fremont to check this place out, it's like a kid's paradise of junk, toys, games, candies and all sorts of stuff that you can stuff in party bags, or Christmas stockings. My friend got tons of cute little gifts for her nieces, and the choices were many. read more

The store was bigger and more stocked than the Fremont Hub. It could be more organized though. I gave it two stars because the female Indian associate made me uncomfortable. There was one self checkout open with no associates at the registers. The Indian associate followed me while I checked out all of my four items and took my bag out of my hands until I got the receipt. They did not do this for the woman in front of me. I am wondering if this is racial discrimination because I am Hispanic and the woman in front of me wasn't. Or perhaps it's because I am a young woman. I had a small purse, no hoodie or hat so I could not have looked suspicious. I paid for all of my items and left. I will not be returning to this site. read more

I first found about this store on a NYC trip of all things, back in 2020. it was a Manhattan location, just randomly came across it. Got some goodies and shocker, reasonably priced. Spare earbuds came in handy for the flight home. And during a Christmas run now in 2022, I was very surprised to find this location open at the hub. Had to do a double taken. It has the same overall feel and look and goods. Snacks, toys, decor, beauty, and electronics of all kinds. It's nice the stores expanded out west, from the east coast. read more

I got 5 on it! Yes 5 dollars buster and below items! Some pretty good finds / priced if your location has the inventory still! These store are rather new so i enjoy going to them because there clean and new looking. Also you never know what you will find that is 5 dollars and below. There are some good items that i have found that other places sell more than 5 like kids themed headphones or some t-shirts and toys! Really fun store to check out! read more

New store comes to Fremont! We got a Five and Below, woo hoo! Stopped by after I visited the Nordstrom Rack next door. I was greeted by a very spunky and enthusiastic young lady. Did a quick round and found many things that I absolutely don't need but are fun to have. I was with my spouse so I didn't want to buy much lest he would judge with his harsh anti-hoarding eyes. I picked up gift boxes--8 for $5, and a nice gift bag for $3. Things aren't ultra amazingly cheap here, but I found that there are a lot of good quality items here. Some dollar stores have a bunch of items, but they are of such bad quality. On the contrary, there are some brand name items here that may be worth a pick up. When I was looking around, a kind employee offered to get me a basket so I can more easily hold my stuff. That was nice of her. Store is super bright and clean; not dingy at all! It also didn't have a weird smell like some discount stores have. Then again, they just opened last month. Maybe we'll give it some time. Check out is super simple--self-checkout only. The perky young lady who greeted us was also managing the checkout line. She was doing a pretty good job and being so sweet while at it. Give her a raise. read more

Came here to make a return this morning. I had a receipt and within number of days to make a return. The Indian/middle eastern lady (not sure if she is the owner), came at me as if i couldn't make a return. Immediately asked for a receipt and I was like, yes, I have one and she said, let me see. I didn't even make it to the register yet. She made me feel very uncomfortable and her customer service skills are terrible. Another lady who did my return was very nice. If you are the owner of this Five Below location and you are that lady, you seriously need to go back to management training for a retail store and stop making your customers feel uncomfortable. read more

There have been several grand opening dates scheduled for the Christmas holiday 2022 season. Just today, another note on the door, saying that they are waiting for authorization to be able to have the grand opening. This is after a banner went across the building that said grand opening on the ninth, which is today, as I checked out the signage, I found a whole family of four, who had drove all the way from union city for the grand opening. Several other people had also walked up, only to be greeted by a sad little sign. Had corporate headquarters truly helped the management figure out what to do, they were here. Had an email to send a request for updates where everyone who emailed would have gotten a newsletter of some kind with updates on when the grand opening was going to happen. There was no scan code or email only we don't know when, and no predicted date, and now I went to go look at the corporate HQ website, and there is no phone number to call to make that suggestion. And somehow, in my attempt to try to talk to the corporate board of directors, all I did was set my sign up for their NASDAQ report. I did not want that, I highly recommend that if you don't like their service when they do open, but you should not hesitate to make a notice in Yelp so that the corporate office can learn from our information. This better not be another 99 Cents store management style, because as many of you do, we avoid going to 99 Cents store, and less absolutely positively necessary because of the long lines and very restricted customer service abilities. I know. I know. We get what we pay for. Come to think of it, I have no idea if this means that they're going to open up later today or on a completely different day. read more
