Nothing on the internet seemed representative of what I wanted to wear. It was even harder to shop in person as I didn't know which stores would be homophobic or which stores would welcome me. Finding B Anu Designs was like finding a beacon of light. Anu's team was welcoming and made me feel safe. She was able to capture the essence of my vision and transform it into something beautiful. I wanted something masculine but extremely feminine at the same time. I wanted something traditional but also modern. I wanted an outfit that I could feel gorgeous in and comfortable. Anu was able to deliver that and much more. In addition to my wedding outfit, Anu designed a series of outfits for me and my wife to wear at my sister's wedding. We wanted something coordinating in an obvious, but elegant way. Anu was able to deliver just that with our reception outfits. We were having a rush wedding in under 2 months, so we assumed we would only have time to buy outfits off the rack and not get anything custom made - but Anu made it happen! She worked so hard and got our outfits to us by mid-April! I walked in with barely any vision of how I wanted my lengha, I just knew I wanted it simple and light pink and in my tight budget, and Anu really took it from there. She took this simple lengha design that I liked and turned it into a full on bridal lengha! At first I was just going along with whatever she liked, but it really was a "trust the process" experience. She made my entire bridal piece look incredible. I especially cannot rave enough about how gorgeous my dupattas were. Anu also created my husband's sherwani, shawl, pagh, and juttis. She dyed all the fabric together so there wasn't a hint of difference in the pink between our outfits. Everyone loved how well our outfits complimented and matched each other. When I texted asking about the status, I was told they were ready for pickup and that I could come in for a trial fitting. However, when I arrived, it became clear that the tops had not been altered at all, despite me paying for those alterations. My order had either been forgotten or not properly tracked. The pants were also very poorly hemmed. When I initially pointed it out, my concerns were dismissed and I was repeatedly told everything looked "fine" and "that's how they're suppose look".After looking more closely, the hemming was clearly uneven and poorly done which even she couldn't deny. On top of that, one of the pants had a stain, and the tops were leaving cuts and rashes on my arms due to the stitching/material. Given the amount I spent overall, I was very disappointed by both the quality of the alterations and how my concerns were handled afterward. Overall, I found the experience extremely disappointing given the amount high reviews she has. I would personally avoid this business. The pricing was very high for the quality provided, and I did not feel there was much accountability or customer care when serious issues with the outfit and alterations were raised.

I agree with other reviewers that Komal's communication is terrible and inconsistent. It's hard to get status updates, confirmation on prices, etc. I worked with several high-end designers and medium-end ones directly through their teams and had good experiences doing that. This is what I'd recommend that others do. Komal does not provide written invoices or payment confirmations, leading you to have to Venmo or Zelle often thousands of dollars, with limited visibility on the status of your order. It's tricky to trust this kind of merchant with limited paper trails and similar reviews to immune for momentous occasions like your wedding.
