To make matters worse, I found out that week that no one would be able to help me pleat and drape the saris that I'd planned to bring. I desperately searched for someone who could pre-pin my saris on short notice, but I didn't have much hope due to the timing. Luckily I found Chhavi, who not only responded to my query almost immediately, but found a way to accommodate my travel timing (I drove from Santa Rosa) so that I could fit our appointment into my work schedule. When I got there, she quickly measured me and explained exactly how she would pleat, iron and pin each sari. When I told her that I had failed to find a lehenga in time, she gave me a recommendation for a designer close by that I could check out while she worked on my saris. But when I mentioned I was concerned about the cost and time to tailor the fit, she took it a step further - she offered me one of her very own beautiful lehengas at a much lower cost! So within 90 minutes of me arriving, she had perfectly pleated, ironed and pinned two saris, she had acted as designer bringing me three lehengas to choose from, and had even altered the top for the lehenga that I chose. She also sent me detailed video instructions on how to put on and secure the pre-pinned sari. I had gone from being utterly unprepared to feeling like a princess ready to own the dance floor. **DO NOT GET YOUR WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS DONE HERE.**…read more I purchased my dress at blossoms & decided to also do my alterations there because why not its a bridal store , their professionals... I trusted this store with my wedding dress, and they made my dress worse than when I first received it. The delicate threading was damaged, the lace was uneven, the sleeves did not match, and the front of my dress was left crooked and poorly done. I pointed out issues during my fittings and asked for them to be corrected, only to come back and find that they still had not been properly fixed. I ended up having to take my wedding dress to another alterations professional just weeks before my wedding and pay over $500 to repair the damage and fix the alterations that were done here. The second alterations professional had to correct problems that should never have happened in the first place. What makes the situation even worse is the lack of accountability afterward. I was told that the person who altered my dress is an independent contractor. However, she performs alterations inside their store and is the person they provide to customers for alterations. The owner said she can only refund $35 because that's what they show on record and shes an independent contractor. However, I paid over $500. As a customer, I trusted the store with my wedding dress. Trying to separate the store from the person performing alteration services inside the store is extremely disappointing. I was also told that because I took my dress somewhere else to have it fixed before the owner could personally inspect it on me, they cannot take responsibility. My wedding was approaching. I was not going to leave my wedding dress damaged just so they could inspect it first. I had already given them opportunities to fix the problems and they were not corrected. I also find it extremely concerning that they claim they do not have records of the other alterations I requested. Even if that were true, how did parts of my dress that supposedly were not being altered end up damaged? This was my wedding dress not an everyday piece of clothing. Having to find someone else at the last minute and spend hundreds of dollars fixing damage caused during alterations was stressful, expensive, and completely unacceptable. The photos attached show exactly what was done to my dress. Brides, please be extremely careful before trusting your wedding dress alterations here.
