Stay far away from this place. My daughter was sent here by the dress shop where we bought her prom dress, and that was the first mistake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They completely took advantage of a 17 year old kid who was excited about her dress and trusted them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They talked her into a bunch of alterations and charged $450. What did we get for that? They butchered the dress. They cut way too much off the back straps so it no longer ties the way it was designed, and they removed the original manufacturer zipper to lower the back. When she got home, the bow couldn't even be done anymore and the "new" zipper they installed was already broken. We brought it back, and instead of owning it, they flat out denied touching the zipper, even though it was obviously replaced. Then they had the nerve to charge another $95 to "fix" it. At that point the original dress shop had to step in and call them out. Only then did they put the original zipper back in and still charged the full $450, didn't even complete the work they promised, and added another $65 charge for a "repair" they claimed they never did in the first place. So let's be clear: they overcharged, damaged the dress, lied about it, and then charged even more to cover their own mistakes. This isn't just bad service, it's dishonest, predatory behavior. They saw a young girl excited for prom and treated her like an easy target. Crooks. Liars. No accountability. Do not use them. read more

Wonderful for complex alterations (taking it or letting out more than one size, hemming something embroidered, adding/changing a sleeve or boning) and fairly but not inexpensively priced. They are designers and artists who will remake a garment and make you look amazing! They did offer a small discount for items purchased at Mario Pucci in Boca which does not have in house alterations. They took in my wedding gown about 4 sizes (GLP1 LOL), hemmed it from the waist, added an off the shoulder sleeve, an internal corset for support (after I nearly lost it when the alterations person at the bridal salon suggested I wear my wedding gown with a sticky bra from Amazon), and replaced some stiff scratchy tulle with softer tulle to depoof and make it more comfortable, bustled the train, and yes it was $1300 of alterations on an $1800 dress but I looked amazing and I loved THIS dress way more than the $3K+ ones I tried on that still would need alterations. They also did my engagement party dress, really complex panels some embroidery embroidered - to hem they completely took the panels apart in 3 fittings (so don't ask them for last minute work) and put it back together to shorten and you can't tell it was touched. And several other dresses that fit absolutely perfectly and have become my favorites. BONUS - so many dresses these days come with those stupid looking self/tie fabric shoulder straps .. come to Fit on U to have that tie made into a fixed strap w a flutter sleeve crafted from the extra fabric from the tie! Brought here 2 pieces with simple alterations needed. One of them was a small stitch on both straps, well they did a horrible job, the first time were sewn with a different thread color and very sloppy that I could have done better. The second time after a long time waiting were sewn uneven and sloppy again, simply terrible. The second blouse, they messed up badly and ended up taking my both pieces back. It took so long to do such a simple fix and was extremely expensive $110 + horrible, will never recommend. read more

I gave them a beautiful new men's formal Jacket to have the sleeves shortened. They measured the sleeve lengths and said no problem for over $50.00. Went back after a week to pick up and tried it on. I put my arm in one sleeve and the new length was good however the lining in the sleeves were puffed up inside as if the inside sleeve lining was never trimmed to go along with the new length. Worse than that I noticed that the slit opening at the cuff that is on every man's suit jacket sleeve was completely sewn together. I told them that this was totally unprofessional and amateurish work. Whoever did this did not know what they are doing. They might be good at making hems for dresses etc. but men don't bring anything in that requires someone with experience and knowledge. read more

I went back to this tailor because I was in a pinch to get a formal dress hemmed for my daughter. I asked for a quote and was told $250 for a single hem!!!! I previously went to this tailor and was charged $75 which I thought was expensive and swore I would not go back. Obviously I walked out speechless. I walked a few down in the same shopping center to where I saw a pretty red dress in the window with a neon sign that said "shoe repair". I wondered why a shore repair shop would have a red dress in the window. I walked in and asked if they also do tailoring. The owner said "we do everything". I showed him my daughter's dress and he said it would be $65 and I could pick it up the next day! I was thrilled and he did an amazing job. Moral of the story, always get a additional quotes. $250 for a single hem is ridiculous. read more

I have had a number of pants hemmed, long sleeve shirts taken in/sleeves shortened, as well as suit jackets taken in (losing weight, despite being a Yelper!). They do alterations on site. They had three opportunities to alter three pair of my pants. They are expensive and not very competent. After the third attempt I just didn't go back. They actually made a mess of my pants. They couldn't even repair a zipper without sewing it in so poorly that the fabric puckers. After the first two attempts I explained to them what the issues were. I'm not a taylor but I seemed to know more than their taylor's do. If you are willing to spend big bucks at this establishment, you obviously will be bringing in quality clothing. Don't unless you want a very incompetent job. One that runs your garment. read more

Make sure you ask for pricing before you try on the item. Went here on recommendation from Bloomingdales sales person in dresses. Told me it would be cheaper. She was wrong! My daughter needed like 1/8 inch hem on a regular gown. Lined. And they wanted to charge $65! That's a crazy price. I was willing to pay $50. But they let me walk out without any negotiation. After they had pinned the dress. In NYC I never paid more than $50 for a hem on a gown. I don't understand how here in South Florida merchants charge unrealistic prices. These guys are the best. After being told I needed to make appointments weeks in advance for my wedding gown alterations at my bridal shop, my mom told me to head to Fit On U. They had done the alterations for my sister's wedding gown and she was so happy. I walked in with no appointment and they took me right away. They took my gown from a sample size 12 to a perfectly snug 4 with not a stitch out of place. I had a fitting every week for a month to make sure everything was just right and I am so so happy with the results. They're all so nice and so helpful and their prices are so reasonable. I recently moved to Boca and was in need of a good tailor. I brought in two pairs of pants that needed to be taken in, a dress where the straps needed to be taken up, a dress with a seam coming undone, and a skirt that needed to be taken out. On a Friday, 15 minutes before they closed shop, I ran in with my items. I expected them to be a little annoyed since they were closing soon and I had a lot of items, but instead they welcomed me warmly and took their time with measurements and pinning my clothes. They offered me a discount since it was my first time and did one of my items for free. My items were ready on a Tuesday which I think is a great turnaround time. All my clothes fit well with the exception of one of my pants which still need to be taken in and the skirt which I wanted looser. The pants were my own fault since they asked if I wanted them tighter, but I said no initially. So I went back with my two adjustments which they did at no charge. Overall, even if they never gave me a discount their prices are incredibly reasonable. In addition, they did a fantastic job with my items. Even the way they interact with other customers coming in says a lot - you can tell they really care about the quality of their work and take pride in it. After this experience I don't think I would ever consider going to someone else. They have a loyal customer in me. read more

This is a great alterations place in west Boca that does everything from Dresses to jeans and even Halloween costumes. The staff is super nice and fast! If you are in dire need of something next day they can usually get the job done. I have introduced many friends here and they have all been satisfied with the results. have used fit on u before and they did a decent job, although on the expensive side. this time when they hemmed dress I brought in they damaged the garment. the clerk claimed I had brought the garment in like that and even said she had pointed this out to me. I wanted to speak with the manager, so I asked the other woman at the desk if she was the owner, she laughed and said, I want to sell my business, and ignored me. I asked her again, and she walked to the back of the shop. felt like I was dealing with a 14 yr old, not a grown woman, business owner. she returned to the front and told me I had brought the garment in like that. I stated that if that were the case I wouldn't have bothered to pay $20 to hem the dress if it was already damaged. She refused to offer any adjustment to the fee, despite the damage. As I walked out she shouted, that's a very old dress. First of all, it was not, it was 5 months old, and the hem came undone. Secondly that is an inappropriate way to treat any customer. The quality of the alterations from suits to shirts to pants is outstanding as they genuinely care about their customers. If you want clothes made to order, wedding dresses adjusted correctly and even small jobs to replace zippers or repair hems are all done with an expert's hand, in a reasonable time and at a fair price.
