I cannot recommend Fit On U Alterations enough! Chris took such wonderful care of me and my silk pants. I knew bringing them in was a bit of a shot in the dark because transparent silk is incredibly difficult to repair discreetly, and I honestly wasn't sure what could be done. Chris not only came up with an amazing solution, but she executed it BEAUTIFULLY. I genuinely like the pants even more now than I did before! Her pricing was also amazing. I truly was not expecting a repair like this to come in under $50, and I really appreciated how fair and honest her pricing was. As a woman working to grow my own business, that kind of integrity means a lot to me. The other ladies in the shop were also so sweet and genuinely excited for me when they saw how everything turned out. The space itself is also very nice and thoughtfully set up for alterations. You get a spacious private room for your consultation and fitting, so you feel comfortable and have privacy the entire time. I live in East Boca, and I will happily keep making the 20-25 minute drive to see Chris. She completely earned my trust, and I already can't wait to bring more pieces in for her to repair and alter. Thank you so much, Chris!! I'll definitely be back soon! read more

Stay far away from this place. My daughter was sent here by the dress shop where we bought her prom dress, and that was the first mistake. They completely took advantage of a 17 year old kid who was excited about her dress and trusted them. They talked her into a bunch of alterations and charged $450. What did we get for that? They butchered the dress. They cut way too much off the back straps so it no longer ties the way it was designed, and they removed the original manufacturer zipper to lower the back. When she got home, the bow couldn't even be done anymore and the "new" zipper they installed was already broken. We brought it back, and instead of owning it, they flat out denied touching the zipper, even though it was obviously replaced. Then they had the nerve to charge another $95 to "fix" it. At that point the original dress shop had to step in and call them out. Only then did they put the original zipper back in and still charged the full $450, didn't even complete the work they promised, and added another $65 charge for a "repair" they claimed they never did in the first place. So let's be clear: they overcharged, damaged the dress, lied about it, and then charged even more to cover their own mistakes. This isn't just bad service, it's dishonest, predatory behavior. They saw a young girl excited for prom and treated her like an easy target. Crooks. Liars. No accountability. Do not use them. read more

This is absolutely ridiculous. I called to get the price on shorten my pants. The lady started giving me the whole story and explanation. No set prices and sounds like dishonest service. Couldn't get the straight answer from them. Unacceptable. read more

Fit On U Alterations - Almost 30 years of uniform hemming, wedding dress, prom dress, suits, jackets, hard to work with material, PERFECT - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Boca Raton, Florida

Wonderful for complex alterations (taking it or letting out more than one size, hemming something embroidered, adding/changing a sleeve or boning) and fairly but not inexpensively priced. They are designers and artists who will remake a garment and make you look amazing! They did offer a small discount for items purchased at Mario Pucci in Boca which does not have in house alterations. They took in my wedding gown about 4 sizes (GLP1 LOL), hemmed it from the waist, added an off the shoulder sleeve, an internal corset for support (after I nearly lost it when the alterations person at the bridal salon suggested I wear my wedding gown with a sticky bra from Amazon), and replaced some stiff scratchy tulle with softer tulle to depoof and make it more comfortable, bustled the train, and yes it was $1300 of alterations on an $1800 dress but I looked amazing and I loved THIS dress way more than the $3K+ ones I tried on that still would need alterations. They also did my engagement party dress, really complex panels some embroidery embroidered - to hem they completely took the panels apart in 3 fittings (so don't ask them for last minute work) and put it back together to shorten and you can't tell it was touched. And several other dresses that fit absolutely perfectly and have become my favorites. BONUS - so many dresses these days come with those stupid looking self/tie fabric shoulder straps .. come to Fit on U to have that tie made into a fixed strap w a flutter sleeve crafted from the extra fabric from the tie! I'll see you ladies at Fit on U again soon, I've got a couple more complex hems that need hemming (I am short but love embroidery so sorry not sorry!) that I've been wanting to wear but need your help with :) read more

Brought here 2 pieces with simple alterations needed. One of them was a small stitch on both straps, well they did a horrible job, the first time were sewn with a different thread color and very sloppy that I could have done better. The second time after a long time waiting were sewn uneven and sloppy again, simply terrible. The second blouse, they messed up badly and ended up taking my both pieces back. It took so long to do such a simple fix and was extremely expensive $110 + horrible, will never recommend. read more

Super friendly and did a beautiful job with my prom dress. Would definitely go back for future alterations. read more

They did a fabulous job altering my outfit for my granddaughters wedding, however, they are very expensive.

EXTRAORDINARY!!! REMARKABLE!!! PLEASE USE THIS COMPANY! They deserve good karma. As we were leaving for my daughter's Bat Mitzvah, her dress zipper broke!! The stress and worry was unreal. We called Fit On U and they said 'come right over'! They saw our panic, had her change, and replaced the zipper in 15 minutes! They saved the day!!! We were incredibly blessed!! And previous to this, I have used their services, and their craftsmanship is always impeccable. Great company! read more

I gave them a beautiful new men's formal Jacket to have the sleeves shortened. They measured the sleeve lengths and said no problem for over $50.00. Went back after a week to pick up and tried it on. I put my arm in one sleeve and the new length was good however the lining in the sleeves were puffed up inside as if the inside sleeve lining was never trimmed to go along with the new length. Worse than that I noticed that the slit opening at the cuff that is on every man's suit jacket sleeve was completely sewn together. I told them that this was totally unprofessional and amateurish work. Whoever did this did not know what they are doing. They might be good at making hems for dresses etc. but men don't bring anything in that requires someone with experience and knowledge. read more

Terrible customer service Terrible job Needed to get the alterations done somewhere else to fix THEIR mistakes and they could not believe how one side of the dress was 3 inches longer than the other side Don't waste your time They don't care and they have terrible attitudes read more

I went back to this tailor because I was in a pinch to get a formal dress hemmed for my daughter. I asked for a quote and was told $250 for a single hem!!!! I previously went to this tailor and was charged $75 which I thought was expensive and swore I would not go back. Obviously I walked out speechless. I walked a few down in the same shopping center to where I saw a pretty red dress in the window with a neon sign that said "shoe repair". I wondered why a shore repair shop would have a red dress in the window. I walked in and asked if they also do tailoring. The owner said "we do everything". I showed him my daughter's dress and he said it would be $65 and I could pick it up the next day! I was thrilled and he did an amazing job. Moral of the story, always get a additional quotes. $250 for a single hem is ridiculous. read more

I have been coming here since I was 8. Over the years for weddings etc, I needed so many things fixed. I have walked in so many times last minute and they always get it done. I feel so loyal to this lance because I feel back. They care and they do a great job. Thank you for helping me as I grew up through life. Very reliable. read more

I was theMother of the Groom and had a beautiful gown with 2 side trains. No problem for them! They have been there for many years and are excellent seamstresses! read more

Fit On U has been my go to alterations since moving up this direction 2 years ago. I have had a number of pants hemmed, long sleeve shirts taken in/sleeves shortened, as well as suit jackets taken in (losing weight, despite being a Yelper!). They do alterations on site. The clothes are ready within adequate time window. I have never had to have anything redone. read more

Very expensive place. They wanted to charge me $400 to alter each brides maid dress. Those people are ridiculous expensive and want to charge clients like they are super wealthy. I can't believe how busy they are based on their prices. read more

Fit On U Alterations - Great place for Bridal gown alterations. Nice people great work - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Boca Raton, Florida

would not recommend SUPER EXPENSIVE $ 450 for hemming unheard of, very rude, place is outdated.

They had three opportunities to alter three pair of my pants. They are expensive and not very competent. After the third attempt I just didn't go back. They actually made a mess of my pants. They couldn't even repair a zipper without sewing it in so poorly that the fabric puckers. After the first two attempts I explained to them what the issues were. I'm not a taylor but I seemed to know more than their taylor's do. If you are willing to spend big bucks at this establishment, you obviously will be bringing in quality clothing. Don't unless you want a very incompetent job. One that runs your garment. read more

These seamsters /tailors can fix almost anything! Fit on U is my go to for everything I need altered. They work on the premises so you don't have to worry about your item getting lost or delayed. It's always ready when they say it will be. I've even had a seam stitched while waiting. They're very courteous and happy to accommodate Their work is flawless and very reasonably priced. Wouldn't trust anyone else!. They've saved me so many times by suggesting a fashion fix that always works perfect for the garment. It's great to be able to count on a job well done. At Fit On U you can. : ) read more

Terrible time management. They over book themselves in order to have more business but cannot keep up with the work load they create.

Brought my daughters homecoming dress in for a hem. (Like about an inch of a hem no major thing) They took care of us promptly and professionally. The hem was $35 which I found to be pretty expensive. Was going to bring a couple of suits in to be altered but I'm a little afraid of the prices. End result - her dress was hemmed perfectly. read more

Make sure you ask for pricing before you try on the item. Went here on recommendation from Bloomingdales sales person in dresses. Told me it would be cheaper. She was wrong! My daughter needed like 1/8 inch hem on a regular gown. Lined. And they wanted to charge $65! That's a crazy price. I was willing to pay $50. But they let me walk out without any negotiation. After they had pinned the dress. In NYC I never paid more than $50 for a hem on a gown. I don't understand how here in South Florida merchants charge unrealistic prices. Look at work that is required. Lost my business and all the people I wudve sent that also needed their gown hemmed. read more

Very nice ladies, and were able to make alterations to my linen pants for my wedding in Cabo on the same day I came in! I recommend this place to anyone looking to be happy, have fun, and leave looking good! read more

These guys are the best. After being told I needed to make appointments weeks in advance for my wedding gown alterations at my bridal shop, my mom told me to head to Fit On U. They had done the alterations for my sister's wedding gown and she was so happy. I walked in with no appointment and they took me right away. They took my gown from a sample size 12 to a perfectly snug 4 with not a stitch out of place. I had a fitting every week for a month to make sure everything was just right and I am so so happy with the results. They're all so nice and so helpful and their prices are so reasonable. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Lisa and her crew know how to do alternations fast, proper, and well! Definitely not the cheapest tailor in town, but I've been using them for years and really have never been disappointed. They done work on everything from suits, to pants, to jeans and each time i'm extremely pleased. Definitely check them out if you need a good tailor and are willing to pay a little more than average for great work! (I think its about $18 to get pants hemmed, and $14 to take in/let out the waist, for guys). read more

I recently moved to Boca and was in need of a good tailor. I brought in two pairs of pants that needed to be taken in, a dress where the straps needed to be taken up, a dress with a seam coming undone, and a skirt that needed to be taken out. On a Friday, 15 minutes before they closed shop, I ran in with my items. I expected them to be a little annoyed since they were closing soon and I had a lot of items, but instead they welcomed me warmly and took their time with measurements and pinning my clothes. They offered me a discount since it was my first time and did one of my items for free. My items were ready on a Tuesday which I think is a great turnaround time. All my clothes fit well with the exception of one of my pants which still need to be taken in and the skirt which I wanted looser. The pants were my own fault since they asked if I wanted them tighter, but I said no initially. So I went back with my two adjustments which they did at no charge. Overall, even if they never gave me a discount their prices are incredibly reasonable. In addition, they did a fantastic job with my items. Even the way they interact with other customers coming in says a lot - you can tell they really care about the quality of their work and take pride in it. After this experience I don't think I would ever consider going to someone else. They have a loyal customer in me. read more

This is a great alterations place in west Boca that does everything from Dresses to jeans and even Halloween costumes. The staff is super nice and fast! If you are in dire need of something next day they can usually get the job done. I have introduced many friends here and they have all been satisfied with the results. Designer Jeans need hemming but want to keep the original bottoms? They will make sure you get what you want! It is not the cheapest place on earth but not the most expensive either. read more

Excellent work. There was not even a single "wrongly stitched" stitch. My trouser looked like i just bought it from the store. Very nicely done. I couldnt even make out that it was altered! This is THE best place to go in Boca Raton if you need to have pants, shirts, dresses , etc. altered. I have been coming here for over 10 years and it is the only place I will take my clothes to! I get all of my jeans tapered here and every time I stop in, the service is always great. Lizzie is fantastic at what she does and everyone is always friendly!! My pants always come out exactly how I want them to be! Highly recommend!! read more

have used fit on u before and they did a decent job, although on the expensive side. this time when they hemmed dress I brought in they damaged the garment. the clerk claimed I had brought the garment in like that and even said she had pointed this out to me. I wanted to speak with the manager, so I asked the other woman at the desk if she was the owner, she laughed and said, I want to sell my business, and ignored me. I asked her again, and she walked to the back of the shop. felt like I was dealing with a 14 yr old, not a grown woman, business owner. she returned to the front and told me I had brought the garment in like that. I stated that if that were the case I wouldn't have bothered to pay $20 to hem the dress if it was already damaged. She refused to offer any adjustment to the fee, despite the damage. As I walked out she shouted, that's a very old dress. First of all, it was not, it was 5 months old, and the hem came undone. Secondly that is an inappropriate way to treat any customer. Rude and immature. Will not go back. read more

Fit On U has won the best alterations store in Boca Raton three times, including most recently in 2010. The quality of the alterations from suits to shirts to pants is outstanding as they genuinely care about their customers. If you want clothes made to order, wedding dresses adjusted correctly and even small jobs to replace zippers or repair hems are all done with an expert's hand, in a reasonable time and at a fair price. If you need anything done from an alterations standpoint, this is the store to go as they are truly the best! read more
