FOR THE FIRST TIME, YELP STEERED ME IN THE WRONG DIRECTION! Should have taken a hint, when they weren't open on time last Saturday morning when we wanted to stop in a get some pants hemmed... Walked all around the building and even met with one of the tailors in the back of building who was waiting to be let in by Adriana... She said Adriana was at home eating breakfast....(???) Another disgruntled customer waited for 30 minutes to pick up her clothes, left a note for Adriana on her door, and then left. We finally returned later in the day and were kindly greeted by Adriana. However, as my lady friend went on to try on her pants to get pinned up, Adriana took a phone call and continued to pin the pants while speaking to another customer on the phone. She made no attempt to confirm that the length was acceptable or that my girlfriend was happy with the way they looked. Instead, she assumed that it was fine, finished pinning, and without even the slightest bit of eye contact, walked back around to the back of the counter to continue her phone call. We had to ask whether it was okay to put on the second pair of pants, as we weren't sure what was going on... NO Communication at this point. The second pair of pants were treated in the same manner. Adriana talking on the phone, pinning the pants, finishing, and walking away. Completely disrespectful of our time and our money... No idea how she has such good reviews, unless everyone leaving the reviews on here, are her friends! But wait... it gets better (or should I say worse)? -- we had originally asked for the pants to be ready by Friday, but after realizing we needed them sooner, I politely called and asked if they could be made ready for Thursday, instead. I was informed that the pants had actually already been completed... (REALLY? THEN WHY WOULDN'T YOU GIVE US A CALL TO LET US KNOW? YOU JUST WANTED TO HOLD ON TO THE PANTS UNTIL FRIDAY)?? Thankfully we went and got them on Thursday, because the job they had done was TERRIBLE. The pants were too short and the pant legs were completely uneven. When we addressed this with Adriana, she actually turned around and told me girlfriend, "Oh, its because of your body..." - you're joking me, right? They finally agreed that they pants were not done correctly and said to give them another 30 minutes while they re-did them. As we were trying to figure what to do, another stereotypical "Boca" guy walks in and its like we don't exist. All of the attention was on him and our "little" hemming issue was nothing compared to this gentleman's needs and wants! Needless to say, we will never be returning to this business due to lack of customer service, exorbitant prices, and genuine lack of regard for customer's happiness. After paying $32 for 30 minutes of your staff's time I definitely expect MUCH more. And I know its Adriana's staff that does all the hard-work because they show up to work on time, were the ones who really fixed the issues we had, and quite frankly Adriana's French manicure wouldn't last five minutes under a sewing machine... If you want reasonable prices, don't go here. If you want your clothes tailored within a reasonable amount of time, don't go here. And if you want reliability, don't go here. I brought in my simple prom dress (simple meaning no beading, lace, etc - just fabric) to be hemmed and a bra put into it. I brought this dress to be tailored in the beginning of April (before April 16th but I don't know the exact date) and was told to pick it up anytime on May 10 after telling her my prom is on May 18th. The total was a whopping $230 (about $195 before tax) - which you had to pay upfront. I understand I probably should've left and went somewhere else with that substantial number, but I was getting a surgery and had to drop it off that day or else I wouldn't have time to bring it anywhere. I was unable to come on that Friday (May 10th) because I had a death in my family and had to go out of town for the weekend. I went on Tuesday (May 14th - 4 days after the time I was scheduled to pick it up) to get my dress. Upon the tailor seeing me walk in, a look of worry went across her face. I said I was here to pick up my prom dress and she pretended to go in the back to look for it, probably trying to think of an excuse for why my dress was not complete after not only being there for a full month, but an additional 4 days added on to that. She said "Oh, I'm so sorry! I'm not finished." I asked her why she's still not done after my dress being there for so long, to which she responded "I'll give you a discount, can you come later in the week?". I asked her how she could give me a discount when I already paid upfront, and she told me she would refund me some of it. I then told her I need to pick it up by tomorrow (May 15th) because I'm going out of town until the day of prom. She argued a little, but agreed the dress would be done by 1pm on May 15th for me to get. So I go back the next day and she has the dress all wrapped up. I told her I need to try it on, she seemed hesitant for some reason, but ultimately told me to go try it on the fitting room. It fit okay, it looked okay, but it definitely would never in a million years be worth $230 for the minimal work. I was in a rush to catch a flight so I just got dressed and walked back out. She was saying bye to me, which was confusing because she didn't even mention my refund, so I did. She then tried to hand me a 20% discount for next time, as if I would ever go back there. I refused that and asked for my refund, she only gave me 10% back, but I just wanted to leave at that point. Don't go here. read more

Adrianas Tailoring is the only place I would ever go! Adriana and her staff are amazing and can make anything fit perfectly. Adriana is a true artist and has amazing ideas - when she alters/tailors a garment for you it looks and feels like it was custom made for you. I bought a gown I loved that was sleeveless and mentioned to Adriana that I wished it had sleeves and the next thing you know she made me sleeves for it! It turned out beautiful and I got so many complements on it... you would never know that the dress didn't originally come with the sleeves. What do you do when you are away from home, on a Saturday, you have a wedding to attend in five hours you and just found out you need to wear an evening gown (which you do not own)? Well, once you finish panicking and shopping frantically for a gown...you turn desperately to Yelp to find someone to alter your dress in short order. And, Yelp, thank you for never failing me! Adriana's Tailoring was number one on the list and so highly reviewed. Even so, we never believed it would be possible for us to get it done in time. We called and asked if she could do the impossible and she said "come on in". She treated us with the utmost professionalism and kindness and told us she could have it done in a couple of hours. We went down the street and had some lunch to kill time but by the time we were done she was calling us to come back. Not only did she charge us a fair rush fee (considering the circumstances she could have charged us anything), but she did an amazing job! You would've thought that the gown was tailor-made for me. Her prices are fair and reasonable. Her attention to detail and the pride she obviously takes in her work are remarkable. Her professionalism and accommodating nature make her stand out even more than the quality of her work. We live in Miami and whenever we need any alterations or tailoring, we do not hesitate to make the drive up to Adriana's Tailoring. We've also recently discovered that she has an amazing knack for design and upholstery and cannot wait to have a chance to put that portion of her talent to use. We have highly recommended Adriana to everyone we know in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties and I have only the highest praise for her and her work... Wonderful alterations! Adriana and her staff are truly talented! I have had them work on everything from a hem on a pair of jeans to a Valentino Gown which was altered to fit me as if it were made for me. I now have her doing my wedding dress alterations which we are doing in steps. She is so thorough and detail oriented. I got a very a elaborate black dress made by INC concepts, Taken-in and tailored along the side because I had lost weight from when I previously bought it. I read other reviews on yelp that this place has done remarkable work on dresses, which is why I went here in the first place but I wish I didn't. The dress I was very happy with but the price she had charged me was very high for the work that she was doing or should I say her workers/slaves in the back we're doing because she works the counter in 5 inch high heels; there's no way that she worked on my dress. Although I am happy with the way it came out the price was very high and I wish I would have gone somewhere else. Jeans can have regular hems or original hem, which keeps the design or finish of the original hem. She fits dresses, suits, pants, and coats as well as just about anything else. I brought my wedding dress here. 4 fittings later, I found a quarter sized hole in my dress on the night before my wedding. Thankfully, my sister and mom found the hole and fixed it before I knew at the time. The service was good - everyone was very nice. Except on my first fitting, the person who took my measurements and there was a lack of communication between her and the seamstress. Therefore I was brought back in two more times. I don't mind being thorough. I mind 4 fittings and a hole that I couldn't see. I've learned to really, really examine the services I pay for - now! I had purchased an expensive, designer evening dress out of state and was in search of a local tailor for alterations. I took it to Adriana's and gave them very specific details and instructions of the work to be completed. They said they could do it, and I was required to pay in advance. However, when I picked up the dress I found the instructions had not been followed. No offer was made to rectify the mistake, and no money was offered as a refund. Okay, so I never write reviews, but I absolutely had to take the time and write this one: First of all, Adriana's Tailoring went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me personally in regards to my wedding dress. I had chosen a very intricate ball gown with layers upon layers of sheer organza that was very difficult to maneuver and work with. Adriana and her staff did it BEAUTIFULLY. Her store is clean,she pays attention to what you want and every detail. I had waited until the LAST MINUTE to have my dress altered and was freaking out about the timeline of when it could be completed, as I was leaving town to get married. Adriana ran into a few issues with the gown and ended up opening back up on their day OFF to accommodate me, personally. I don't normally like to write bad reviews, but since this popped up first on google under local tailors, I thought I should spare someone from making a major mistake. I have given them several chances and they have all been disastrous. They altered a dress that I couldn't get over my head afterwards, they hemmed a pair of jeans with a wide hem stitch, they hemmed a couple of dresses with a sloppy hem. Even after all this I gave Adriana a chance with drapes since she claimed that was really her expertise. Well, that went horribly wrong too. First of all she never came out to my house to see the space. She gave me the wrong yardage, so I had to buy additional fabric and had to have a seam, She sewed them backwards, She fixed that but they never fit the window right. She never even bothered after all the problems to come and look at them. I finally gave up and left it be. A very exensive mistake. Do yourself a favor and stay away. The place is very clean and nice. However i find them expensive. I had two dresses where the shoulders had to be taken up and a skirt taken in. One of the dresses i also asked for a zipper to be put in the side. $140 later i go to pick up my items and they forgot to put the zipper in. I will not visist again. read more
