My experiences with Boca Blinds have been quite different than those of the reviewers who have rated them poorly. My first order was in 2008 for Hunter Douglas pleated Blinds, capable of being raised up or down. The estimator who assessed the project and took all measurements was professional. The installer, Dean, was equally professional. He arrived as scheduled and did a careful and thorough installation. Yes, that was almost 10 years ago, but I remember it clearly. Recently one of the cords on a blind broke, I guess from extensive use. Actually, it's a blind that gets the most use in the entire house, so I wasn't surprised that this happened, although I was still disappointed. Being compulsive I found my receipts from the original purchase, and called them. While my first call was not returned, I reached the owner on the second call, and made contact with Wendy, who appears to be their office staff. An appointment was set up for the following week, at a time convenient for me. I was advised that their minimum service call was $75., but they did not bill if you decided not to have the work done. That's more than reasonable. Dean, who did the original installation, showed up at the promised time, and after assessing the problem, re-strung the blind. While it sounds easy, it actually took about 40 minutes to remove the blind,re-string it, and reinstall. He was careful and did a great job. I asked him to check out all the other Blinds (9), and felt good when he advised that they were all fine. No one was ever rude. And Dean put on booties when entering the house, without the need for me to ask him to do so. I liked that! I would not hesitate to recommend them if you have a small of large purchase and installation, or need a repair. I can't say they are the least expensive, you can and should always get estimates from other companies. They have been in business for 15 years, which must mean something. read more

I was interested in Hunter Motorized Luminettes. But I saw so many bad reviews on companies that sell and install Hunter that I found myself crossing out Hunter authorized resellers one by one. I found Boca Blinds after reading some decent reviews on them. A woman answered and said that she would call me back to schedule an in home appointment. . Then I called back on Nov 20 and this time I had to leave a voice mail. . Also I drove by there a couple of times as I work in the local Boca area but I never ever see anyone in the office I cannot help but think: If they are this difficult to get in touch with, what's it going to be like after the sale? read more

It was a pleasure working with Fran and Danielle, these two ladies worked hard to make me happy. I was not happy with the produced product, they sent it back. The product came back damaged, they sent it back. The product was what I was looking for as far as style goes but it may not have been the best product for the space it was intended. I highly recommend Boca Blinds for all your window coverings. I am from Pennsylvania and was so Worried to "blindly" order window coverings for my Condo in Florida. Their customer service is exceptional And that means a lot to me. I feel the price was very fair, the blinds great quality and I love that they were Upfront with how long it would take. They made no promises they could not keep. Working with Boca Blinds was a totally positive experience from beginning to completion. Cindy promptly responded to our initial phone call. Within 2 days, she came to our home with samples. The very next day, Dean and Wendy came to take measurements. Cindy told us it would take about 3 weeks for our hurricane impact doors and windows to come in. Sure enough, 3 1/2 weeks later, (even with a holiday weekend in-between), Cindy called to schedule an installation date. Two days after her call, Dean and Wendy installed our beautiful treatments. Dean and Wendy are exceptionally professional and equally personable. It is evident that Dean and Wendy take enormous pride in their work. Their job exemplified the highest level of craftsmanship. I purchased Hunter Douglas blinds from Boca Blinds 2 years ago. I had no problems placing the order or with the installation. Everything went smooth and uneventful....well, that was until today that I had the misfortune of calling to ask if I could PURCHASE a part that broke.....to be more specific, the part was a plastic piece that is attached to the end of the pull. The woman that answered the phone Cindy was anything but helpful and extremely RUDE! This was over a .75 cent part, possibly less. I called Hunter Douglas directly, told them the experience I had with Cindy from Boca Blinds. They apologized on her behalf, and delivered the part free of charge. 5 yelp stars to Hunter Douglas! 1 yelp star to Boca Blinds for POOR customer service. Boca Blinds brought the shades to their rep and then they told me that they could not smell what everyone else did. This is a company that really knows their business. The 3 other estimates I received all wanted to add other items that I realized I did not need. When Cindy came into our home, she explained in words we could understand what would look best in our home. Not only was the pricing 35% less than the other estimates she surprised us by recovering the window seats to match the blinds. This made these 2 rooms, even a bigger WOW! Something we would never thought about doing. Dean, the owner & installer found that one of the blinds just did not fit properly, even though they looked ok to us. He insisted that he return those to the factory for a replacement indicating that he would have not accepted that in his home & we deserve to have the blinds fit perfectly. Over the next few months, Dean has returned, with smiles, to fine-tune the blinds.....indicating at Boca Blinds we want everything to be perfect. I checked out Boca Blinds because I needed to get a single custom blind for my townhouse. When I called, the owner seemed to be 'put-off' by the fact that I needed only 1 blind. She was extremely condescending and arrogant as well as unprofessional. What she doesn't know is that I am house-hunting and I may have likely used her business for my entire house, but no longer! We had blinds installed for our entire house and they did a great job. Was expensive but worth it. The 2-star rating is because when I called them for a repair on a set of blinds a few years later they did not even return my phone calls. I wound up calling "Barry Dickman", who has a blinds-repair company, and he did an excellent repair job. They like installing blinds. They are good at it. But CUSTOMER SERVICE is not a concept here. The person who answered the phone went put of her way to be UNHELPFUL. I was calling from NY regarding blinds they had installed two years ago. I was having the apartment painted. The contractor needed to repalce a plastic cap on one blind. I just needed information on the type cap he needs to buy. Wendy absolutely refused to look up my order, she claimed she can do that only after a personal service appoint ment, which she can give two months down the road. My contractor took a picture of the blind to Home Depot and bought the part. Do not use them if you want to manage your vacation home from somewhere else. read more

Boca Blinds did the blinds and drapes for our entire house. We have lots of sliding glass doors, and some beautiful old wood-framed windows in the front so it was a very interesting design challenge. We wanted privacy but of course also the Florida indoor-outdoor ambiance. We got excellent design advice, and the installation, in several stages, was flawless. My wife and I are both very sensitive to smells, especially chemicals used in making furniture, new car smell et cetera. The Hunter-Douglas products as installed by Boca Blinds were no problem to us. I called Boca Blinds to do an estimate on window treatments for my entire house. From start to finish the experience was great. I made an appointment for a representative to come over and give me suggestions, they were on time and very helpful. I did my window treatments in stages and it was never an issue. I felt that they were very fair in their pricing, as I has gotten other estimates. The installation was nothing but professional, they arrived on time laid down cloths to protect my home, hung the window treatments, took care of what was not right, and when they left my house was exactly as it was when they came.
