This is my favorite place in Boca Raton. I was a total newbie when I came in; but I had been absolutely dying to learn how to Sew. I got my chance last Christmas, got my machine from them, signed up for classes and never turned back. They have a gorgeous gallery of sewing machines for all types of sewing. It's much better than what they have at Joann's or Amazon and it's really nice to see the machine before you buy it. In fact, I really wish more places had that option. Since I've been sewing and taking classes here, I've made Pants, Purses, Scrunchies, and now I've just upgraded my machine to a fancy combination Brother Embroidery/Sewing machine which is an absolute dream come true. Keep in mind I started sewing in January and I've accomplished so much in the short time that I've been sewing. I actually learned how to sew from scratch because they helped me and that's invaluable. Lori really took the time to help me and I really appreciate it. I come here for all my thread, needles, bobbins, and tools because they aren't over charging and they make sure I pick the right tools for my machine. Plus they have George who fixes machines and can generally help you with most problems. Also also they can do alterations or do projects for you. I got a dress fixed here before I considered the sewing classes and it fit perfectly before the wedding. This is a bit of a long review mostly because it's months overdue and I just wanted to let these ladies know how grateful I am for all the time they took to help me learn how to do this. Found this business on Yelp and I'm so happy I did! Lori responded to all my messages so quickly and answered every question I had. I brought in robes to get embroidered with The Office logo. Even though I sent all the details via message, Lori confirmed the design with me there and made sure I knew exactly how it would turn out. They were finished within a week! Not only is this the best place I have found that offers repairs, classes, New and refurbished machines, beautiful fabric, thread, scissors, ALL your sewing needs, but the owner also cares about the community. I contacted her on behalf of our non-profit needing sewing supplies for the homeless population in our community. Not only was she happy to help, but she went above and beyond giving us four bags of fabric scraps, several packs of scissors, tons of thread, tape measures, rippers and everything needed for masks. I have taken two embroidery machines to them in the past, and am about to take two sewing machines to repair. My dealings with them in the past were great. I'm sorry to see the handful of bad reviews... I also recognize that people generally only take the time to write reviews when they are unhappy. I haven't been there in 8-10 years but I anticipate the same good service I've had in the past. And I might even sign up for a class, since I learned sewing in the 1960s when the sewing machines didn't have the features they have now. read more

These are the nicest and friendliest ladies ever. And just about everything you need is in the store if your supplies break, run out, or you just have the wrong things for your project at in mind. I was in need of getting incredibly long pants hemmed for a gathering this weekend. I looked on Yelp to find a seamstress to alter the pants and saw Sew Much Fun had great reviews so I decided to stop by. SEW MUCH FUN EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I came here looking for a ribbon to match the one on my dress. Although they did not carry the right shade, the employee there did assist me greatly and I really appreciate it. She was very helpful, even looking through all of the ribbons they carry to see if anything matched. They also do embroidery here. For anyone who was wondering, a simple embroidery will run you $12. I went to Sew Much Fun looking for help sewing my prom dress, which was my first large project, and had such a great experience being taught by Lori. She went above and beyond every step of the process, from meeting me at the store to help me pick out fabric, to staying long hours to help me get the dress done in time for my prom. Brought two things here for alterations & they did a great job. However be sure to get a price quote first. They did a great job on my daughters dress but hit me with an 80$ charge. I was in shock as we could've bought a new dress for that price. Owner did give me a 10% discount. My pants were reasonable at 14$ for hem. Also was ready next day which was great as she was only here for the weekend. I would've given 5 stars if not for sticker shock on dress! I'd definitely go back again. read more

These folks know what they are doing.. I purchased my embroidery machine from them four months ago and it started acting up. I tried everything (or so I thought....). Took it in today so their technician could take a look when he came in and guess what.. Within 30 seconds, they identified the problem (which was not a technical issue). This is definitely a class I'll take again. I went to my first class today and it was great. I didn't know what to expect because I taught myself to sew so I'm not up with the correct techniques. Lori, the teacher, showed me step by step, the correct way to make my project- from how to pin the right way to what elastic works best for what fabric. It was a quick moving class and I was able to finish my pajama pants- from cutting the fabric to ironing the finished product. I really accomplished a lot while at the same time learning a lot too- what more could you ask for in a class! *I was also able to rent a machine which was great too- it was great being able to test it and see if it's a good fit because I'm looking to buy a new machine. read more

If the name of this business were reflective of how it is run it would be called Sew...Who Cares?? DO NOT use for alterations or honestly anything that you can't afford to make multiple wasted trips on. Called Saturday regarding alterations was told to bring them in. I arrived at 3:00pm and found no one at the front desk. A lady then frantically approached me telling me they were closed for a special class and that they couldn't take alterations today. I was told to come back Monday anytime. Before leaving, I showed her my items and asked how long it would take. She said 1 week. I reconfirmed that I would come back Monday and that the items would be ready within one week. Showed up today (Monday) only to be told alterations person was not in and that "she had a big pile of work" and it couldn't be ready in a week! This place is run like a disorganized hobby rather than a business. Very unprofessional attitudes and no concern for customer service at all. Lots of other choices in Delray who value customer's time and business. Save yourself time and grief. Avoid Sew Much Fun. read more

My 25 year old machine broke, and wasn't worth repairing. I started researching different brands, settled on Brother. I called a few dealers, both online, and local. Fortunately, I found Lori, who owns Sew Much Fun. In addition to buying a new sewing machine, I decided to splurge and buy an embroidery machine as well. Given I knew nothing about embroidery machines, and taught myself how to sew, my knowledge base is very limited, so I had LOTS of questions. Lori was very kind, patient, not pushy, nor tried to sell me more machine than I want or needed. She never made me feel stupid, or embarrassed by some of my endless questions. I did try to do a lot of research online, but it just isn't the same as talking to someone in person. After about three trips, and a thousand questions later, I purchased a Brother PS500, and a Innovis NS1150E. I LOVE my new sewing machine. It isn't complicated to use, though all the computerized functions did intimidate me at first. The PS500 gets amazing reviews online as well, so between reading several of those, and the conversation with Lori, I am not surprised how much I love my new sewing machine. Currently, my new embroidery machine is still in the box, but I am just as hopeful that I will love it too. Lori provides a free lesson when purchasing a new machine, as well as gives classes and private lessons. The first time I was quoted one price for repairs then was charged an additional $70 at pickup, the owner stated that the service quote was a mistake but wouldn't adjust the pricing. Recently took sewing lessons with Lori - she is like the kind aunt you always wanted to teach you how to sew. I am eight lessons in and sewing zippers! buttons etc. yes, everyone is getting a tote or purse for christmas. She has a nice selection of fabrics and I met a few nice ladies in the group lessons. Even if you know how to sew like a wizard Lori has all kinds of cool machines that do really fancy embroidery etc. I can dream. One dress was so small that I couldn't even sit down and they were able to fix it quickly. My most recent dress ended up being a few sizes to big.
