Been going here since high school. Great food and super cool location. Anything NOLA is good here.

Salmon dip with pita bread was delicious.

The food is awesome, I was greeted with smiles and friendly faces. Service was prompt and your typical Fishbone atmosphere made my visit very pleasant. They also offer live music, I'd love to come back for that. If you're visiting Greektown this is definitely a spot to visit.

Heard good things about this place. We decided to split a shrimp po boy and get bowls of gumbo. Place is beautiful. Ate at the bar. Service was great and so was the food. Recommend the Ya Ya gumbo.

Tracy and I went to Detroit to see Cardi B we went to Fishbones to eat. We love appetizers so we got Calamari, Alligator bites and Oysters Rockafellar!! Oh yum!! Fishbones is a beautiful restaurant located near the Anthenium Hotel where we stayed...service was impeccable! Our bartender/waitress was Johnny on spot and drinks were awesome!! A must go to if you are in Detroit.

This location is a bit hard to get to. There is construction all around it and some roads are closed off on the side of the restaurant. Once inside, it has a nostalgic feel but also is big and open with plenty of seating. The service was lovely for our group of 4, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. We tried the coconut shrimp and you get a lot of small shrimp which was nice. I tried the jambalaya was good but could have been a bit more spicy.

This place is HUGE! I was a bit weary, due to some other reviews but I am so glad we went. Jessica was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! I got the braised short rib and it was perfect. A nice portion too, giving me leftovers. Pricey, but SO worth it. My husband got, étouffée, seafood gumbo and jambalaya. He loved the jambalaya the most, and the others were not too bad, he said he wished he would've gotten a larger jambalaya portion since it was so tasty. We would absolutely come here again if we ever make our way back to Detroit.

Went here opening day 4/4/25. It was an average experience. The management should've been better. All the food was cool. Drinks were fine. I loved my deep eddys lemon drop. Was disappointed that they didn't have the chicken & sausage gumbo. Especially after I had sat there waiting once ordered it. Thats the only reason i went there in the first place. The catfish poboy was pretty nice. The staff was polite. Drinks, silverware & Food took a lil long to come out. The waitress messed up the bills twice. Was surprised that they started yelling we are closed when 11pm marked the clock. They rushed their tables to exit. That was not ok! Is this a restaurant or a club? We are all adults... It was Very unprofessional & uncomfortable.

FABULOUS food, great service, and a gorgeous atmosphere. The building is so pretty. I'm absolutely coming back. It's hard to find good NOLA food in the Midwest, but man this is definitely it!!

Noted: All guests in your group must be present for your party to be seated.

Ordered the black rice, Michigan trout, Peruvian potatoes, and charred carrot. I would order them all again. The potatoes were excellent not sure of what seasoning they used, but it reminded me of another cuisine. The trout was phenomenal. So many flavors melded with each bite. The black rice was the wild card. I was nervous at first because I never had good luck with black rice, but this plate with scallops is perfected.

The place has a sort of industrial feel that didn't lend itself well to a date night. Cocktails run about $16-18 and wines by the glass are $15-20. I had the El Diablo with Joven Tequila, Rescoldo Beet, Amaro, Ginger, Lemon which I thought was good but nothing groundbreaking. Most of their cocktails are riffs on classics. My husband had a glass of wine. To eat, we got the rescoldo beets ($19) which was priced steeply for a simple albeit tasty dish. He got the black rice (Peruvian Bay Scallops, Moqueca Sauce, Preserved Lemon) - $38 and I had the chicken with chimibutter and mustard - $35. Portions for mains were larger than expected. Unfortunately, we weren't wowed by any of the dishes. If I had to order one again, it would probably be the chicken, which was cooked well. We took quite a few leftovers home and honestly barely touched them. It was a pretty big let-down based on how much people rave about Barda. I can't say I would return.

However the real gripe about service was regarding that we brought our kid and the only item on the menu was buttered noodles. That is okay, but after a few bites, even my kid who doesn't know many words informed us it was too oily and stopped eating. We wanted to buy something nearby and bring it back so he could have food, as he wouldn't eat the other items that we ordered. However, after multiple attempts, we were denied outside food or drink, solely for the kid. The restaurant's inflexibility because of their own dish being too oily and buttery, resulting in our kid being mostly hungry for the duration of our dinner . In terms of the dishes we ordered, the taste was unique for some dishes and average for others. We ordered cabbage, beef tartare, seafood pasta, and halibut. Of those dishes, surprisingly, the cabbage was the most flavorful and unique, and we rated it an easy 5 out of 5, as we never knew cabbage could taste so unique and tender. The beef tartare was good, but nothing special, as I think other restaurants serving beef tartare would taste about the same. The seafood pasta was interesting, as it had a slight crisp to it, but other than that, there were just a few pieces of octopus, which made it unique but not overly so. The halibut was tender, I'll give it that, and they prepared it in a unique bean sauce, which was also good and light. But again, nothing that beats halibut that I've had at other restaurants. The ambiance was dimly lit, packed. Plenty of servers and managers walking around. People were obviously well dressed. We sat in a corner, a dark and very cold area, so much so that we needed to put on something heavier. It is not a small dining area. The kitchen you can see on the way to the restroom was bright, well-lit, and open, with plenty of workers and chefs. The plating was pretty good, the service was quick. The food came out pretty quickly as well. However, it is a 1 to 2-hour dining experience. I don't think I would come back, as I don't think the flavor profile, service, and ambiance matched my expectation of this commonly noted number one restaurant in Detroit.

We had 2 couples and they customized the menu for us based on our likes and dislikes. We got 5 courses starting with appetizers, followed by pasta (which I forgot to get photos of), then sides, entrees and dessert. Plus a little aperitif to start the meal off. Zero complaints about any of the dishes. My favorite dish was probably the artichokes and the steak. So delicious! The atmosphere at the restaurant was very fun and modern. And our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions about the dishes. The meal continually went downhill from the first appetizers to the end. Started to go downhill when we had to pastas as a third course. They both tasted the same and were extremely salty. This was followed up by the smallest saddest toughest steak that I've ever seen in my life. Was extremely disappointed at this point in the menu. The dessert tasted worse than disappointment. We saw everyone by us getting pistachio ice cream other dessert that looked great. We got peach tomato ice cream, with a dry dusty cake that tasted like powder. Great service from the waitress though. Very knowledgeable and attentive so we still gave her a good tip. I think that the chef's tasting menu is just an angle to overcharge you for mediocre homemade Italian food. It's under the guys of they ask you questions to cater to you and the taste of the people at your table. The questions are so general and ambiguous. It doesn't really hone in on what your actual taste are. Haven't left a restaurant feeling like I've been robbed and wasted my money in a while. The main course made White Castle looks like a Michelin 2 Starr restaurant. Won't go back and would not recommend. To cap off the evening we took that weird raw steak thing that they gave us is our main course home in a doggy bag for our dogs. Our dogs usually go nuts about any meat whether it's lunchmeat, grilled ribs, or even the fat trimmed from the edge of the steak. This meat was so weird and bad that two of our dogs took it from her hand, went around the corner and poked at it and sniffed at it before trying to eat it. One of the two dogs spit it out and the other one left it. I've had steaks and beef at hundreds of restaurants over the years and can always identify what it is by how the piece of meat looks and how it is prepared. This was like mystery meat, very, very, very disappointed and feel robbed.

Then there was a man and a woman singing and playing the piano live, and I am not exaggerating when I say I genuinely thought the music was coming through the speakers for the first 30 MINUTES. THAT is how good they were. I didn't even realize it was live music until I spotted them and was like, OH MY GOD. The ambiance, the service, the entire experience was incredible. NOW, THE FOOD. This steak has officially taken the spot on my list of the BEST STEAKS I HAVE EVER HAD. I've had steaks at some seriously nice restaurants, and this one absolutely blew me away. One of my friends thought it was too salty, so obviously flavor is subjective, but personally, I thought it had the most incredible flavor and I was obsessed with it. Everything else we ordered was phenomenal, too. The lobster bisque? Amazing. The lump crab? Amazing. I genuinely have ZERO complaints about the food here. Everything from the atmosphere to the live music to the service and the food was just absolutely perfect. This is one of those restaurants that makes the entire dinner feel like an EXPERIENCE, not just a meal. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I cannot wait to come back. Even on a Monday night at 8:00pm, they were busy, which I think says a lot. The menu is small but intentional. We each ordered a drink, the Brussels (always, we don't care what we get for a main), and shared the burger and campanelle. You're probably never going to be blown away by a burger, but you know a good burger from a bad one. This was a GOOD burger. The campanelle though... we could not stop talking about it. We arrived on this misty evening around 8pm, into the dim, candlelit space with upbeat music playing. We were asked promptly if we had a reservation-- did not, so we were promptly seated at the counter, across from the bar-- which was actually less crowded than the section on the floor with tables. Onto the food, I had fries that were nicely salted, and covered in a curry spice. They were decent but nothing spectacular. I would also describe my burger this way. The best part of it was the perfectly toasted and buttery bun-- but I find it overconfident to serve a burger without any toppings-- just a sauce that was apparently blended with pickles that I couldn't really taste. The burger was seasoned well enough...plenty of pepper, but it was all one texture, I didn't pick up any searing or anything to make the texture less one note. I asked my server for extra sauce, mustard, and ketchup to make it better. My friend recommended this spot specifically for the burger so I'm willing to say, I just ordered the wrong thing maybe. Onto the desert, the corn tiramisu caught my eye as something unique to try and it was truly an experience. It made me laugh out loud cause it was strange unexpected food experience in both flavor and presentation, I enjoyed it, but wouldn't order it again persay. It came out in a little whipped pile covered in cornflakes with green jalapeño jelly. I appreciated the richness and that it wasn't too sweet-- but overall I'd enjoy it more if it was presented more neatly, and there was a bit more spice on the plate to cut through said richness, although to their the deep sweet and earthy flavored of jalapeños was captured perfectly in the gel.

The restaurant was getting full by 6pm, so having a reservation is probably best. We finally got a chance to eat here and decided on the Tasting Menu ($95/pp, the whole table has to have it) because a lot of the dishes were items we were already looking at. We started off with some drinks, all the drinks were well balanced and not too sweet-perfect. For Tequila: Good Behavior & (Mezcal): Better Off Red were super delicious. Note for the tasting menu (for the 2 of us), they plated 1 dish per course so just note that you do not each get a separate plate so I'm assuming the portions are double (although I wonder what they do for a single person and the whole trout...). I guess it's nice to share a plate so my hubby could enjoy more food but seems like a lot of plates and silverware getting used/changed with each course so it makes me wonder why each person doesn't just get their own portion. Anyway, first course: I don't really like scallops, but these scallops was cool, refreshing with a very mild scallop flavor so I really enjoyed it! Second: tomato tart with goat cheese +heirloom tomatoes salad (very good), Third: Ricotta Gnocchi (YUM), a lot of pancetta pieces, Fourth: Whole trout (the chef removed 95% of the bones, yay, loved that. It was pretty mild taste which was overall good, I liked all the different mushrooms that came with it & Last: Banana Split- feels healthy with the banana there and wow, the cherries look like Luxardo ones. Honestly, this was a good amount of food (I wasn't overly stuffed thankfully but full). I would definitely recommend the Tasting Menu (note, no modifications/subs allowed) and was glad we ordered it. The pacing was not hurried (we were not in a rush), but they can definitely accommodate (bring 2 courses out at a time), if you need to be somewhere by a certain time for a show or game. They also have a free parking lot (fenced in)! We will most definitely be back, it was an amazing night at Bar Pigalle!

There are pretty light fixtures, neon signs, and the seating is comfortable. For cocktails I tried the Loro Moletto, which has a uniquely delicious taste, made with tomato infused gin, suze, vanilla simple, cold pressed citrus, and egg white. For dessert cocktails, Happy Endings was fantastic and made with coconut rum, vodka, fresh pressed lime juice, agave, heavy cream, and pineapple and is paired with coconut gelato (so good!) We ordered the Wagyu pastrami as an appetizer and trust me you cannot miss out on it. It was absolutely fantastic and the spice of the house Dijon and pickles were a great addition. We also decided to order the tableside Caesar which was a fun experience. The lettuce was fresh, the dressing had the perfect level of zest, and the cheese was finely grated. The only thing I would change about it is that the homemade croutons were very difficult to cut. For our mains, we ordered the boneless ribeye, filet mignon, bolognese, and pasta carbone. The steaks were cooked to perfection and came with mini forks to scoop out garlic cloves. I would not add any additional sauces to the steaks because they're flavorful on their own and additional sauce would make them too salty. The pastas were very delicious as well! When ordering sides, they come out as shareables for the table in large portions. The truffle fries were crispy and the mashed potatoes were buttery. For dessert, our server brought out some mini cannolis for me and they were super good! I enjoyed the experience and decided to purchase a sexy steak knife to remember it!
