Espresso Martini
Will S.

Went back to Fish On the other night and it wasn't the best. We got there around 8 and it felt like the server didn't want any more tables in her section. (Really uncomfortable feeling). My cocktail, I really enjoyed- I believe it was some type of Grand Mariner Old Fashion. My appetizer was the fried broccoli but the peppers that came with it were just too hot for me. ( this dish repeated on me all night).. The entree I settled on was the pork chop with fried rice ( I asked if they could scramble the egg and fold it in - you should of seen the reaction I got, especially when I mention that another Sol Del restaurant does that for me.

Shrimp and caesar salad
Sherry W.

I have mixed feelings about my dinner here last night. First off I will say the restraint is lovely, nice size and a beautiful outdoor dining area. The service was also excellent. The food was mixed, the fish and chips was excellent. We also had a caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp was excellent although I always hate when they leave the tails on. The dressing of the salad was a bit too lemony for my taste. My husband had the burger which was good but there was no lettuce and not much sauce and no tomato so rather plain. He put some of my lettuce with dressing on it and that made it better. We also had the bread and butter, which was good but would have preferred it warm. One late comment, we had a glass of rose and although the wine was very good it was a very small pour. So, based on all the other reviews I would definitely give it a try and make your own judgment.

Fish and Chips

Fantastic fish and chips along with southern style fried chicken! Would highly recommend the fish and chips for anyone unsure. Honestly, the fish fillet was the largest we've seen outside of London so this place is doing it right! They have a great oyster selection as well. Reasonably priced, too! If you prefer dining outdoors you'll love their generously sized patio. That's where we sat. Lovely ambiance.

SALMON OSCAR

Excellently prepared cuisine with superb service. Only area I would want to have improved is how load the dinning area can be.

Hot Crab Dip ($16). Pretty good.

Stylish, comfortable space and an inviting patio that I'm sure is very appealing when the weather is nicer. Came in for Happy Hour in the bar area, but only ordered a $3 Coors Light draft and $6 Chardonnay off that menu. Crab dip was good. Came with plenty of kettle chips. Maple-glazed salmon was very good. The squash and shredded Brussels stacked under rather than on the side was a little unexpected, but it worked. An overall sweet profile. Great service from bartender Bonnie and good value overall. Would recommend especially if you're right in the neighborhood.

Salmon with couscous
Michele S.

Food was great! My daughter and husband had the specials. The salmon came on couscous with seasonal peaches. The blackened tuna had a great fried rice on the side. I had fish and chips and the serving was large. I had the best Peartini! Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly! We will definitely be returning.

The birria ramen was so bland. Don't recommend. Their desserts are good! & the fried green tomatoes & calamari are good also.

A special thank you to Peter "Pan" for making our night so memorable. Not only were the cocktails delicious, but watching him craft those amazing bourbon creations was an experience in itself. I only had the one I paid for. There's no need to lie, bad days happen. This is not a speakeasy, this is a restaurant cosplaying as a speakeasy. That may be a bit harsh, it's a speakeasy in training. Sure, it's got all of the speakeasy decor, blackout curtains over the windows and doors, and a big selection of pedestrian liquor but it's not quite there. We went in on an early evening on Wed and there were maybe 5 other patrons in there. Our waitress was nice and brought us water to the high top. She brought us two food menus, and a specials menu. I asked for a bourbon list and she brought it; no prices on the list. Annoying. On the specials menu there was a small section of manager recommended drinks and one was a Willet. The way it was written was confusing because it said it was both a 4 year and 14 year for $52, so I asked for clarification on the age statement. She took the menu to the barkeep, who confirmed it was a 14 year so I said yes I'll have that. A drink was brought to me, but I could tell from the taste that it was not what I ordered. I asked the waitress for the bottle, she asked the guy behind the bar for the bottle and he pulled down a willet pot still bottle (pot still is the entry level Willet and at best a 5 dollar pour, no where near what I asked for). I told her that I was given the wrong drink, then she approached the bar and between her, and the male and female bartenders they had a weird back and forth conversation. Then, finally they pulled down the bottle that I asked for, that was advertised, and gave me a pour of it. I asked to see the bottle and the waitress brought it over but held it instead of putting it on the table (it was a 13 year Willet, Paper Trail). As we were about to order we were told that they reset the menu the very day before, with the focus of putting more love and care into the food. Feeling good about that, we ordered the French quarter catfish and the bourbon braised short ribs. The corn that came with the short ribs tasted straight out of a store bought steamable pouch, and the "ribs" weren't ribs at all, just sliced meat. The only redeemable thing about the catfish dish was the aioli; the rice had no flavor, the corn was cold and hard, and the catfish was mostly breading. We both took a few bites and resigned. I have been to many speakeasies around the US, and there are common themes: a much better selection of liquor; 95% of the bourbon were low tier bottles you can find in any liquor store for around $50. Also, when customers ask for the bottle, it isn't because we plan to steal it or drink from it, its because we're genuinely interested in the information on the labels. The quickest way to get people to stop spending money is to make them feel as if they can't be trusted touching a bottle. Perhaps it was an off day for the staff and this wasn't a typical experience, but I won't go back.

They seem to be the only ones who offer this in the area for now and they have a good selection for me otherwise. We played air hockey where one side's outside goal borders a bit flimsy like last year or so but it still works well otherwise. Small arcade but it seems not too populated even on a Saturday night or not this one. The location and size may have to do with why there are not too many people either. They get most of their money from the food experience probably. Maybe bowling and other things that I don't know that they have might do better. There was a live band on Thai Sat evening. Not my kind of music but this more elderly, classy crowd seemed to be enjoying in the festivities a lot. The bathrooms here are clean.

The sesame oil add a savory taste that really is surprising, interesting and lovely. We got the wok green beans. The pepper crisp and spices really complement the crispy snap of the beans. We also tried the scallion pancakes and edamame dumplings. Both were tasty. For the mains we got the Dan Dan noodles which were good. The soba noodles base was an interesting twist with more chew than the traditional egg noodles. What stole the show was the Singapore Black Pepper Crab. I haven't traditionally been much of a seafood eater. But this was transformative in my understanding of what crab can taste like. It's not for those who are hot food sensitive. It packs some heat but it is layered. It has the dry background for black pepper then the white pepper kicks in. Finally the fresh bird chilies on top bring that fresh tasting heat. With the snap and freshness of the sprouts. Wow it was amazing. Exactly what you want from Asian food. Salty, savory, a touch sweet, then the heat and umami. Will definitely crave this dish monthly. Lincoln, the bartender, was incredibly rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in providing any type of customer service. There were six of us, with five seats at the bar and one person standing. If they preferred that we sit at a table, that is completely understandable--but there is a professional way to communicate that. Instead, Lincoln never greeted us, barely acknowledged us, and when one of my friends simply asked what he was making, he literally rolled his eyes at her. From the start, we were made to feel like we were a burden. Then, instead of simply helping us find a table or taking our drink orders, a manager(we think) came over and started talking about the fire exit. The way she addressed one of our friends was completely inappropriate and came across as blatant fat-shaming. There was absolutely no reason to make a customer feel embarrassed or singled out because of their body. If there was a safety concern, it could have been addressed respectfully and privately. Another friend attempted to order a drink, and the manager told her she couldn't serve it. Again, instead of Lincoln stepping in and saying something as simple as, "I'll be happy to get that for you once I'm caught up," he said absolutely nothing. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to provide service. So we sat at the bar, were treated like an inconvenience, received nothing, and eventually left. I have never experienced such a complete lack of hospitality. Being busy is not an excuse for being rude. Having a group of six is not an excuse to roll your eyes at customers. And a safety concern is certainly not an excuse to make someone feel ashamed of their body. We came in ready to spend money and enjoy ourselves, and instead we were made to feel so unwelcome that we walked out without ordering a single thing. Management seriously needs to address the way customers are being treated here. Lincoln's attitude was unacceptable, and the manager's handling of the situation was even worse.
