Love this restaurant , We have been looking for a Fish restaurant that has a great selection! My husband had the Fish and Chips , a lot of Fish and not too breaded! The French Fries were fresh and delicious! My Crab and Shrimp Grilled cheese on sourdough was so delicious! I can't believe I'm writing this review. My husband and I have frequently visited this location since it's very close to home. Usually, the food and service is great. I ordered a small salad with grilled shrimp at 5:58. They told me it would take 25 minutes. When I arrived to pick it up (well after the 25 minutes), I told the bartender I was there to pick up and he told me they were finishing it up. I waited for about 15 minutes and asked the bartender if he knew when it would be ready. He never said let me check or apologized for the wait. A server standing at the bar signaled to another employee. She came over and said I need a form of payment. I would have gladly paid when I arrived, but the inattentive bartender never asked. I said I would be glad to pay if I knew how much it was. I gave her cash and didn't ask for change because I was too mad. I went to my car and immediately called to speak to the manager. Paul answered and was apologetic, but I'm sure it went in one ear and out of the other. The bartender felt very emboldened to treat a customer in this manner, so it's probably not his first offense. My husband and I loveeeee FCG! Our spot was the Irving location... so we were so excited when they opened this! The grilled oysters tasted fishier than normal (yes, I know it's seafood, it's just never tasted so fishy the previous times I ate them). The blackened chicken poboy and oyster nachos were delish! It was our first time having the fish n chips but I felt like it needed a little more salt or something! The service was amazing.. it did take a while to be seated (and we didn't even go at a busy time, it was close to 3 on a Saturday!) love the decor compared to the typical decor.. however, we sat outside and the furniture all needed to be cleaned. Tonight was our first time in...it definitely won't be our last! The manager, Michael heard it was our first time in and brought out "The Welcome Wagon"...samples of 4 soups and samples of their fried oyster nachos! Absolutely delicious! We have been frequenting our favorite Fish restaurant 'Fish City Grill' once or twice each month since moving to McKinney, and the food and service have been great. Yesterday, the service was great. The food was not. Fried items were soggy and there was a strong taste of old oil in the food. The only thing that tasted good was the fish taco. I would have given fewer stars, but I am hoping this is a fluke. The ambiance is relaxed with sports channels on the TV, indoor and outdoor eating, and a friendly bar. Staff are wonderful and they go out of their way to please. It's always a joy to go there, and prices are very reasonable. read more

Fish city grill was a total vibe for us. We were already out chilling and enjoying the day when the hunger bug hit us hard. We turn the corner and boom Fish City grill was right there saying come on in. We enjoyed every part of our meal and every part of the restaurant. The drinks the apps and the main course were all top tier in taste and presentation. It was so refreshing to taste fresh fish from a restaurant. The spicy shrimp was perfect. The sweet to spicy combo was amazing. Those cooks were in there cooking that day. Matter of fact everyone was on their A game. Bartender made my drink to perfection and to top it off the waitress was one of the best we have ever had. We enjoyed the level of service she gave us. Our daughter even liked her. She had a great spirit and amazing service. I don't know if all locations are this good I'm finding out there's a Fish City grill a few miles from my house so I'll try that one. Came here to check out their HH and a couple of food items. Glad I did. Ambiance - 5/5 - Large, spacious, and a nice bar area. Staff - 5/5 - Friendly! Made sure we were taken care of. Food - What we ordered: Calamari - 4/5 - Nothing special here, but who doesn't love calamari??? Smokin Hot Shrimp - 4/5 - Not really spicy, but definitely a good flavor. Honey Chipotle Shrimp Tacos - 4.5/5 - Recommend. Great glaze (not spicy). Fish City Sandwich - 4/5 - Kind of like a Po Boy. I enjoyed it. HH wise - They have specials from 3-6 on wells, beer and wine. It isn't the best HH, but if you are trying to grab a few drinks, it's worth a stop. It's so bright and well decorated in here. They are going for an upscale vibe not the fish shack approach. We liked it. We tried the cheeseburger with bacon and a cup of gumbo. My daughter was impressed by the presentation, the size and the thick bacon on her burger. She also liked that the fries are seasoned. My appetite was smaller so I had a cup of gumbo. It's not super spicy and their version is very light on the rice. The glass of tea was overpriced but not terribly and I've noticed that's become the trend almost everywhere it seems. First of all, our server was great! He made suggestions and was very attentive. We ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta. It was really good except the shrimp tasted bad. It also tasted bad in the shrimp and grits, which had zero flavor. I do not recommend that dish. The server kinda warned me. Then I tried another dish that I can't recall the name as it was a special. With so many good restaurants in this area, I don't see us going back. First time trying this place for my birthday, in which I was treated with a dessert. Here's what we ordered: Chargrilled Oysters - delish. Five stars. Calamari - ok, flavorless unless smothered in sauce. Overcooked. Crawfish - good-ish. For a pound early in the season at a new place- $10.99. Flavor was good - however 15% of our crawfish were duds that were obviously crushed or maimed before cooking. The server didn't give a good explanation but crawfish should be reviewed during the cleaning process and you shouldn't serve rancid dead crawfish. I'll accept a dud here and there but we had like over 10 in our pound serving. When they weren't duds, it was good! Just highly disappointed with the lack of care or quality control. Shrimp Po'boy - delish except they served it with tomatoes when I asked for no tomatoes. No biggie- removed the tomatoes Haddock tacos (special) - delish!!! Just be careful, they don't drain the vinaigrette based slaw so she sloppy and the single corn tortilla doesn't hold up under all that moisture Bread pudding - hard pass. It tasted like some weird ass cinnamon chemical compound. I ain't mad bc it was free. Service was good with the exception of trying to excuse the quality control issues of the crawfish. So if you're here- look for yummy food but not excellent food. And if you're here for the crawfish prepare to be served up a bunch of dead crawfish that are high potential for an upset stomach or food poisoning. read more

Took the family to Fish City Grill in Prosper this Saturday before Easter. 7 people immediately seated at 6:45 pm on a Saturday!! Nice!! Olivia was our outstanding host for the night and she was awesome! We had our water and drinks quickly and all on point. My Old Fashioned was perfect with block ice and aged cherries (higher dollar bars could learn a thing or two from this joint). My daughter and her husband got the oysters as appetizers and the rest of the table ordered Calamari. All were perfect and served quickly out of the kitchen. Entrees of Salmon, Blackened Catfish, Fried shrimp, Fried catfish, and Cajun Shrimp tacos were all delicious. My daughter ordered an Espresso Martini as an after dinner drink and she stated it was delicious as well. Overall an outstanding night out thanks to everyone at Fish City Grill in Prosper! Just left Fish City Grill in Prosper. We were celebrating some good news from the Dr and decided to get fish and chips. We also got the jalapeño cream soup! Yum! The food was really good and portions are large. Honestly we could have shared and had a salad between us. The service was great and the manager came over just to say hi. Of course it's new but still noticeably clean. Music was awesome and the staff was dancing and happy. Leaving, we saw other peoples plates. We don't like tilapia which was prevalent on the menu. I was just reminded why I never returned after my first visit 2 years ago! The food is horrible and I wish I could get my money back. Decided to order a late lunch, early dinner. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp, scallops and risotto. I'm certain I'll be sick by the end of the night because I just ate a bad scallop. The other two scallops had a strong ammonia smell. The shrimp were dry & so was the risotto. This order reminds me why I need to cook more at home! So unhappy! read more

What sets Fish City Grill (Prosper) apart is the down- home feel of the place. The decor is not too over-the-top like other seafood restaurants (no boats or plastic sharks or anchors hanging off the walls or ceiling); just a nice warm welcome. The wait staff is great. The management is attentive, seeing to make your stay and food is enjoyable. We all have a favorite server (Kimberly). But every server tries to do their best. The food is always excellent and when it's not what you wanted or expected; they snatch it right up make it right. read more

Fish City Grill in Prosper has always been my go to place since it opened. Let me tell you they have lost my confidence in them going forward. Me and my family go here tonight around 6 pm and hardly anyone there. I soon realize why no one is there. We place our order and swear we waited at least 45 minutes minimum before we get our meals. Wife had fish and chips. The fish was terrible. I think it was under cooked cause it was very rubbery. I assure you this will not be my go to place going forward. Very disappointed. Think twice before wasting a good meal here. read more
