Absolutely perfect. We were in the mood for really good sushi but not in the mood to drive to some of our favorite places 30 minutes away. We discovered Fish Boon and are beyond happy we did. Service from start to stop was amazing. Very friendly and efficient. We ordered the spicy garlic edaname, Del Mar, Yellowtail mania and Fantasy Rolls. They were all beyond fresh tasting, flavorful and a nice portion. The ginger was also very yummy. We also enjoyed some wine and beer and were happy with their offerings. The food here is pretty good 5/5. Ambiance is also good. My only complaint is that every single time I've eaten here the service is very slow. I've came in on a week day where there wasn't many parties inside and our server only checked in on us maybe once or twice which makes the overall dinning experience unpleasant. read more

Came in a group of 4 for a late lunch. Dined inside in booths. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. The servers were very nice and helpful when prompted with questions. The food came out moderately quickly though the miso cod came significantly later than the rest of the other dishes. Food tasted great with my personal favorites being the king salmon roll and the lemon roll. Can't go wrong with their real crab rolls. Bento box for lunch special came with four pieces of California roll small salad, miso soup, and rice and my option was tempura which was very nice and not too oily. Other members of the party got the black miso cod, sashimi bibimbap, and Tororo rolls and it was all good. We were so pleased we dined here. From the initial greeting to our final goodbye we were treated as treasured guests. Polite, attentive and not intrusive. The sushi was amazing! Try the toro tartare and you will be in for a real treat. The Salmon carpaccio delighted us. There was not too much rice on the rolls we had. The misaki roll was great with real crab. The level of sophistication is greater here than any other sushi offering within 10 miles. We brought our quiet and polite pup noodle with us and sat in the pleasant patio. They brought him a water bowl and refilled it just like ours. The interior was clean and composed with care. There is a beautiful light fixture over the bar and a fun neon sign you can't miss when leaving the restrooms. HORRIBLE Experience. 2 stars vs 1 because the food was good at least. We were sat but it took 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. Ordered drinks and appetizers. Took 30 minutes for our appetizer which it turns out was sitting at the sushi counter for 10 minutes before being brought to our table. We ordered 2 sushi rolls and a Ramen for our entrees. Due to the delay, our sushi rolls came out at the same time as our appetizer. Were told the Ramen would be out in "1 second" but that took 15 more minutes. Our drinks were never refilled after the initial drop off. We were offered a refill but the server never came back to actually refill them. Our server was nice and apologetic and explained that they had multiple call outs. OK then why are you seating every single table when you are so under staffed? I asked for a manager at the end but was told that the manager/owner didn't show up that day either. All we were offered was our drinks, that were never even refilled, taken off the bill. We came last night to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. Alfie gave us such a wonderful experience! He was thoughtful, humorous and attentive. The king salmon was UNFORGETTABLE: silky and decadent. LOVED the unique twist of the new cajun appetizer. I'd seen numerous photos of the padre roll posted online and it did NOT disappoint. Beautiful addition to the Bressi ranch area. Finally a good sushi spot with fresh sushi. When you walk in it's beautifully decorated and everyone is nice and helpful. Service is especially attentive. We love that they have real crab options. My fave is the albacore but their salmon roll is really good as well - fresh! and I'm picky about salmon sushi. I always get a salmon skin hand roll - one of those things that I feel you can't mess up and they made it perfectly. Even a basic Philadelphia roll is delicious here. Super cute space and the food is good, we had miso soup, the sashimi sampler and a couple of rolls. Even the shrimp tempura in the crunch roll is raw which is unexpected. My friend and I came in for sushi recently and had a phenomenal experience! Our server, Anthony, was so attentive and gave the best recommendations. Although it was busy when we came in, Anthony did a great job checking in with us and making sure we had everything we needed over the course of our meal. The quality of the fish here is outstanding and you can tell is very fresh. We started our meal with the crispy rice with spicy tuna which was a 10/10. So well balanced, not too saucy, and amazing bite sized pieces. For our main order, we split a few rolls including a negihama roll, the Padres roll (with a side of sushi rice), and the Torrey Pines roll. All were so delicious and a perfect amount of food for two. I am so happy Bressi Ranch finally has a good restaurant. I did enjoy Ebullition which was here before but once Chef Gunnar took off it became just pub food. The whole complex has just a bunch of commercial chains that do the job if you must eat, and the corner Pizza addition is nice, but this entire corporate center is just filled with the most mid restaurants. until Fish Boon came along. The fish is so fresh and quality, ambience, service, Asahi on draft. They have real crab rolls (for extra) Nice to finally have a solid restaurant that we don't have to drive 20 minutes to. Gave this place another shot a couple of days ago. This place is just... off. The owner or manager whatever he is, always looks stressed, and it sets the tone, everyone else seems on edge too. They're constantly understaffed, like they're trying to save money. The food isn't authentic, and the Korean dishes are a "jack of all trades, master of none" situation. To top it off, the space is cramped, tables are jammed so close together that servers and guests can barely move around. Also, there's no way other 4-5 star ratings are genuine. My daughter enjoyed a variety of sushi and surf and turf rolls. I reserve a star because I asked if the Hibachi chicken had mushrooms and was told it did, but that they could make it without. I then said, yes, I would like the Hibachi chicken without mushrooms and it came with lots of mushrooms. The server took it back and they expedited a remake which was delicious. read more

Okay, so this place is a 10 star out of 5! I have been to all the better sushi places in San Diego. This place is far better. I never say this, but THE BEST! When we were seated, the host walked us through the menu and explained the sourcing of the food and what was fresh and popular, etc. All the staff took great care of us. Stopped in here recently for lunch and thought it was great! Owned by the same owner as Love Boat in San Marcos (but not the Oceanside location). Fresh crab in rolls, not just imitation is a plus. My husband and I arrived around 6:40 and let the host know we were waiting for the rest of our party. I asked if we'd be seated outside since it was chilly, and the host, sounding annoyed, said that parties of six or more are seated outside. At 7 PM, we checked in again, and he told us-rudely-that it would be another 30 minutes. When my husband asked why, given we had a reservation, he just repeated it without explanation.
