Unfortunately, not a good experience. We had our food delivered via Door Dash. Eggs were ice cold, potatoes barely seasoned and barely cooked (and ice cold), waffle was good but not warm. Bacon was good. For what we paid, we expected warm, if not hot food and actually cooked potatoes. Not sure we'd eat at First Watch again after a few misses in a row. I've never left disappointed or hungry. I like to try different things each visit. This trip I indulged in the BARBACOA CHILAQUILES BREAKFAST BOWL. It was extremely flavorful. Perfect balance of spices to me. Loved the crunch of the tortilla chips with the flavor of the meat, the Cotija cheese and fresh avocado balanced out the salsa roja. Their new Mango Passion Palmer was a great drink to pair with the meal as well. It wasn't too ginger-ry nor too sweet. As always, service did not disappoint. Attentive and friendly even in the busy environment. We arrived around 10:30am on a Sunday and it was PACKED but only waited about 30 minutes, just as the host quoted. What a fraud. Despite the LL Bean catalogue model convention crowds here on the weekends, this place sucks. What appears to be a real restuarant that uses fresh ingredients to deliver an honest breakfast/brunch is just another "fast casual" chain where literally everything comes off a truck and "cooks" just add water. Don't be fooled. The menu that suggests there's a real "chef" somewhere behind the counter cranking out new spins on old fare. There is not. There's just slop being piled on plates and arranged to look pretty. Rubbery eggs, cornstarch & water serving as sausage gravy, frozen potatoes warmed through, frozen biscuits, ultra-preservative packed bacon, and so forth. You're wasting your time waiting to get in this joint and you're wasting your money on their faux froo-froo food. That being said, this place is packed out every weekend. Our most recent visit to First Watch was a birthday celebration. We had been to First Watch before but this was our first visit to the Wake Forest Location. It was great from beginning to end. We did call ahead seating so were seated right away which was nice. Emmy was our server and she was a delight. So friendly, positive and attentive (but not overly so.) Another visit to the local First Watch. It's a little lengthier wait because there are fewer tables due to COVID precautions. Food is still good and service crisp. Shrimp & Grits is a unique interpretation of the dish. Sauteed shrimp, onions, peppers, andouille sausage and roasted tomatoes are served over the top of a bed of cheesy grits. With a slice of buttered toasted ciabatta bread on the side. I'm not sure if the grits are intentionally lukewarm or if that's whole idea, but took away a little from the experience. It was tasty, tho! The frittata rustica was on-point. A kale, mushroom, tomato & onion infused omelet topped with 2 kinds of melted cheese. Delicious! After hearing a lot of good things about First Watch, I decided to give it a try. We went for Brunch on a Sunday at the Wake Forest location. It was packed! We started off with some juice. I got the Watermelon Wake up and it was really refreshing. For my Entrée, I got the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata. I was not impressed with it at all. First of all, the salmon in the frittata was namesake. It only had 2 pieces of Salmon in it. The Frittata was all onions and tomatoes. Other items that we got were the million dollar bacon, power wrap, veggie burger, farmhouse skillet hash & a chocolate chip pancake. My favorite was the Million Dollar Bacon. It is a MUST try!! This is my first time at this particular First Watch location. The business is located in a plaza right across from a bank drive through exit so vehicles are exiting in the same area where you are trying to park. So you may have some issues getting in and out of the area. There is outdoor and indoor seating at the business. The tables were pretty full with people sitting very close inside of the business. We chose to sit outside in the patio area of the business. The seating was more spaced out in the area. However where we were seated was close to the front door so some patrons waited close to our table and there was a lot of traffic passing by. Our server came over and brought us water and lemons. She came by a short time later and took our food order. I ordered the salmon and vegetable frittata. The frittata comes with a salad and ciabatta bread. I chose to get potatoes and the gluten free bread instead. Our food was brought out in a timely manner. The food was good. After bringing us our food the server did not check on us at all for an extended period. Nor did she ask us if we needed anything or refill our drinks. We stayed at the restaurant for an extended period of time and did not see the server again until she brought over our bill without us asking for it. After paying for the bill I noticed that I was charged for a coffee that neither one of us ordered. The staff removed the charge from my bill without any issue. DO NOT place pick up orders from here, when I came home with my food today my bacon still looked half raw, potatoes underdone, and my pancakes were burnt. 50 dollars down the drain and most of it went in the trash. they would never present this food to someone sitting down. highly disappointed. read more

Visited 8-9-2024. Had the traditional breakfast with bacon, eggs and potatoes. Asked for eggs over medium well, no runny yolks, both orders came back with runny yolks, not edible for my system. The waitress ask if we wanted to have the eggs redone. We didn't want to do this, because why waste food...get the order right the first time. The other items on the order were cooked okay. It just so disappointing when you stress to the service person how you want your order and they bring you the opposite. Also, the area where we were seated had at least 5 flies, flying around trapped in the glass window. This was unsanitary and not what I expect when eating at this restaurant. Got here after Sunday morning service and there were super busy. They do have indoor and outdoor seating available. Wait was not that long on this Sunday morning looks like we beat the rush. I had the Traditional Breakfast with Pork Sausage links, home fries and scrambled eggs. Sausages were cooked to perfection, eggs were great and the home fries were not over seasoned. My wife had the Trifecta with bacon and a Belgian Waffle. Bacon was extra crispy as requested and the waffle was super light. Berry compote was delicious when dipping waffle in it. Fresh fruit, avocados, green leaf salads, healthy wraps and bowls abound here. My favorite is the two-for-two lunch special where you can select from four half-sandwiches, four awesome salads, or soups of the day. While the breakfast menu might be somewhat overpriced vs. say, Waffle House or IHOP, the lunch menu is the better deal. Service is outstanding, with attentive servers. The service, like many places today, is not fully back due to staffing shortages which seem to be the "new normal" in many of the service industries. In this part of Wake Forest we get very excited over new business, especially food. I gave a little time before trying this First Watch location and from the other reviews, I guess that was wise. First Watch is an above average breakfast spot with better than usual options. I like they use locally grown products and the food does taste healthier, say than Waffle House or Denny's for sure. That said, it's certainly not extraordinary for me. Today I got the Bacado Omelette which is, you guessed it - bacon avocado omelette! It was really tasty and served with greens, fruit, potatoes or grits. I got the greens and felt good about myself (pat on back). They definitely deliver on freshness. The coffee is pretty basic and I do like that they leave the carafe on the table. For their fresh menu philosophy I'm bummed they put out creamer packs rather than cream or half and half. Our server was very nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean overall, maybe with some additional washroom checks I'd give another star. I know things happen, but the restroom needed some care. I was fortunate to dine here fairly early on a Monday but I imagine in this already congested area it gets very busy. Overall I'm glad to have a First Watch closer to my home. read more

I've seen many of these First Watch's popping up in different places so I decided to give this place a try. The place was clean and there was separation with other tables so for people very concerned about Covid this place feels pretty safe. When it comes to food I was unfortunately not impressed. The portions were small so both my wife and I left hungry. I believe there are some substitutions that can be made but our waitress didn't give us any options. Flavor was ok, not blown away. So if you don't mind smaller portions as long as you are eating in a comfortable and somehow hipster establishment then this is your place. For me breakfast is still one of the most important meals of the day so I prefer a more cozy (mom and pop style) establishment with a hearty portion. Peace out read more

My sister and I came in for brunch and she ordered the feature Brussel hash. The eggs were undercooked so we asked to get a new set of eggs. Our server took the whole plate and when we got it back the eggs were extremely overcooked and she only had half of the amount of food that she originally received. I came here last Friday, with it being my second time ever in the restaurant, and my first time being exactly a year ago! I got the Trifecta, which is their Belgian Waffle, which was big but sizeable enough to eat, eggs cooked any way you'd like, and pork sausage! The Belgian waffle is the best thing on their menu hands down!! My friend got avocado toast with fried eggs which she LOVED. First time at this location, which is at corner of Main St and Rodgers rd. I've always enjoyed the selection of foods at First Watch. They add items seasonally. This time around, I opted for the salmon frittata. This has roasted tomatoes and shallots. Well presented dish, and very filling. Portion sizes are pretty large. The dish was tasty, only complaint I had were the shallots could've been cut to bite size, but guess that's what silverware is for. The glasses on our table were dirty and I pointed it out to our server. She apologized and took them away. It happens. For 2 of us, bill was about $30. A bit pricy for cheapest meal of the day, but the alternative is to stay home and cook and clean yourself. So good for a splurge every now and again. Server did an awesome job. It's a bit industrial and acoustics not great so a bit noisier than others I've been to. But it's closer to home so will be back. Good looking salads for lunch. read more

Not as bad of a wait as last time. I opted for the market hash. Yummy goat cheese with potatoes, zucchini, red peppers, spinach and shallots. The potatoes were crispy and delicious. Absolutely loved it. I got scrambled eggs, which were a little over cooked but I'm pregnant and eggs are an adversion for me so I typically don't eat them anyways. I love the simple lemon and olive oil mixed greens. The toast that comes with is multi grain and delicious. I love that the coffee carafe stays on the table but like someone else said, I wish they did fresh cream instead of the creamer packets to stay in line with they're saying. Breakfast is by far what I order every time I come. But I've heard the lunch foods are yummy. Wish my server was more friendly and attentive.
