Is truly so sad. I stopped going here before covid because the service was so slow. Today I thought we'd give it another chance since I was hangry after a medical treatment and nearby. Once again, the service was so slow however, this time they got my order wrong. I ordered a veggie sandwich and got an omelette. They joked saying this mistake happens all the time! I haven't eaten a full egg Omelette in years. I always have egg white omelettes. They were very apologetic however I was extremely hangry. It was now 1:30 without any food in my system. I said I'd would eat it since we waited almost 1/2 hour to get this. When we were checking out the cashier asked about our experience and I told him how disappointed we were. He joked that he would never eat a full egg omelette, yes, only egg whites. It's too bad they didn't give us a discount on that omelette since we did save them the money of making what I originally ordered or an incentive to come back. I'm never ever going back to this place! BTW, my food was mediocre, Like I said I don't usually eat whole eggs but the side salad was drenched in lemon vinaigrette, hardly about to swallow. read more

I am a big fan of places that are well run and serve fresh food, even if the traditional breakfast fare are not the predominant menu items. This First Watch location strikes the perfect balance between newer dishes (Quinoa Power Breakfast Bowl!) and some of the best pancakes and eggs in Tucson. The manager, Melissa, runs a tight ship. There is hardly any wait time, even on busy weekend mornings. She has the staff well-trained. Some of my favorite servers remember my orders from weeks before and are ready to serve them up without any prompting which is very cool. Ask for Brittany or Joe, and you will not be disappointed. My family and I went to the 1st watch on Oracle road for a Sunday brunch. Our Abbey waitress was awesome and attended to our every need. With the covid situation its hard to remember Everything you need you take for granted that it used to be sitting on the table! She was very thoughtful and kept up with everything we needed. Food was great... Love those lemon pancakes! The signature juices were very interesting my favorite was the watermelon. I have been here two times now & it never disappoints! The wait was about 35-45 minutes but we had 16 people and it was right during brunch hour! Making a reservation wouldn't be a bad idea by any means. The restaurant was very clean, our food came super fast, and the service was outstanding. Free coffee and water while your waiting too! Honestly had the worst experience of my life here. I've come in multiple times and my food is always a gamble on whether or not it's good. The waits are long, and the waitress this time, skylar was extremely rude to me and my husband which was the final straw. And when she saw we didn't give a tip she became even snarkier. But why should I be EXPECTED to give a tip when there was bad service? Why are the waitress'/waiters EXPECTING a tip whether or not THEIR customer service is good. If you don't like how much you get paid find a new job where you get paid what a human DESERVES. But if you EXPECT a tip WE EXPECT GOOD SERVICE AND GOOD FOOD. This is our second time here - the food both times was cold. Cold waffle - cold eggs - cold bacon with cold grease. I rarely write a bad review but with this happening two times I think it must be how they serve it up. The waffle is good and the compote is delicious but having everything served cold is not good. I hate cold eggs so I couldn't even eat them. The hot chocolate is so weak it tastes like brown water. We mentioned it to our server and she said that this is just a powder that they put in water. I had a very bad experience trying to eat lunch. it was extremely unorganized with people standing around everywhere. I waited over 35 minutes for a sandwich and while I was waiting, three people got their food who had all ordered after I had ordered. The staff could not seem to keep track of who ordered first. Another person had to threaten to leave because he had waited over 30 minutes before they would bring his food. When the food finally did arrive, it was bland, tasteless and cold. I could really love this place if it wasn't SO overpriced. My son had the French toast the other day and it was good, normal French toast. Normal serving, but for $9! No sides, no eggs, nothing. Came to brunch on a Saturday morning with my mom and boyfriend. Walked in and really liked the ambiance. Very clean and modern setting. There's a nice waiting area where they have cucumber water and coffee while you wait to be seated. That was cool because I don't think I've ever seen that anywhere before. We got seated and wanted to try the juices but couldn't choose. they have Morning meditation and kale tonic. Our waitress was Brittany and she kindly offered us samples ! ( I love samples ) It was so hard to choose what to eat too. I'm a picky eater so there is usually one thing on a menu that sounds good to me but I wanted just about everything on the menu. Yogurt bowls , wraps , eggs Benedict, chia seed yogurt, lemon Ricotta pancakes, avocado toast! It all sounded so good and are some of my favorite things. Food: I ordered the power wrap. It's on the "healthier side" Brittany suggested getting feta cheese in it instead of mozzarella and it was delicious ! She also suggested dipping it in a pesto ranch . I was just about to ask her if they have good dipping sauces before she suggested that so she read my mind ! Also my iced coffee was delicious and Brittany even put whipped cream and chocolate syrup on it for me because I said I wanted something sweet but it was too hot for hot coco! Unfortunately I only finished half of my wrap because by the time I got to the second the tortilla was far to soggy and felt like I was eating mush. And the potatoes were pretty dry. The millionaire bacon: I LOVE bacon, so Brittany suggested I get a side of this . It was very different but good different. Spicy and sweet almost tasted like candy and beef jerky. I tried a bite and the sauce was delicious, I thought eggs Benedict in a ciabatta roll was going to be weird but it was actually really good. The sauce and eggs really absorb the roll and made it soft to eat. The eggs Benedict blt: this is what my mom got and she loved it . I tried it and it lacked flavor for me but she ate every bite ! We ate there this morning because I got a gift card as a gift. We arrived there at about 10:00 and the place was packed with a 40-minute wait. We were lucky a table opened up really quickly and we didn't have to wait. I ordered their Italian omelet and my wife had eggs Benedict. The Italian breakfast was cooked to perfection and very tasty with lots of Italian sausage and cheese and peppers The eggs Benedict that my wife had was also excellent with lots of avocado and cheese sauce. Extremely disappointing. 10 minute wait to be acknowledged after being seated. Gave drink and food order, and then found that it was much more important for our waitress to clean the table next to us than to bring drinks. Coffee arrived unscathed, so that was ok. I should point out, though, that a carafe of refrigerated water is nearly useless without accompanying glasses...sigh. Then meal. Wife receives regular syrup for French toast, having asked for sugar-free because she is diabetic. Glad she noticed before pouring. My eggs were gross, being quite underdone, having asked for well done. The place was FAR better as The Good Egg. Now, mediocre food (though oh, so trendy), very sub-par service. Our group of ladies eat lunch here every week. The menu is varied enough to satisfy 12-16 of us. We have the best waitress in the world. I will start off by saying that I was hesitant about eating here after reading all of the other Yelper's posts. I am glad that we tried it. Our waitress was a little slow bringing out our drinks but quickly recovered. The problem I think is that they didn't have enough waiters. She was managing an entire section by herself. I had the chilaquiles and i was impressed by the flavor the dish packed. The green salsa had the perfect amount of acidity to cut through the egg yolk. The only complaint about this dish is that they are using store bought chips instead of making their own. Great dish overall. I tried the fresh cucumber something drink and it was pretty good. I come here often with my family. Great place to have breakfast if you want food quality that's better than Denny's and IHOP, tastes better than Denny's and IHOP, except for IHOP's pancakes. But the pumpkin pancakes, when First Watch has 'em are really good. Despite what the description says, there's no TV. The free wi-fi internet there is faster than the one at our house. Noise would be pretty quiet if they didn't play music. And they won't turn it down or off upon request. The ambiance is warm, and i like how they don't shade the windows to make the place like a cave like they do at IHOP and Denny's. The service here is excellent and quick too, but as with any place these days especially Tucson, you gotta immediately check your eggs and meat to see if they're cooked properly and how you like it, before the waiter(s)/waitress(es) bringing it to you leaves. And be clear with what you want. It's also clean here. The cooks seem to cook better when they're busy than when they're not. Like most restaurants, i think. Weekends is great even though they're busy. They're not as busy around lunch time nor weekdays. Wait time even when they're slammed isn't that much. The most i've waited to get in there was 30-minutes but i rarely have to wait that long and we're usually seated within 5-minutes, 10-15 for weekend mornings. I like how they have real maple syrup as an option, but for $1 up-charge. You usually won't nerd it though because there's like a crushed-up berries syrup they have and provide for free with e.g. your waffle. I like how they have an express table near the entrance that's open seating and great if you wanna get-in-and-out quicker. I actually think that's the second-quietest place to be seated because it's away from the other tables. It also lets you mingle with the other customers who are sitting at the same big rectangular table as you unlike the traditional tables. But overall the noise level is about the same. Prices are pretty reasonable, even when compared to Denny's and IHOP. Even if you think it's slightly more expensive it's worth it because they use cage-free eggs, higher quality ingredients,... Now that i think about it, I've actually waited longer to get into a IHOP or Denny's. And the noise at both has been the same if not worse, especially IHOP. I'd rather hear music than the screams of children and babies that you'll hear at IHOP. This place is family friendly too, because the people who come here are well behaved. One of the waitresses there has bad breath, despite being young and pretty. The skinny ponytail one about 5' 8" with dark hair and without glasses. So beware, Lol. Don't believe me? We had gone to the Good Egg once before and while we watched as two parties who were seated after us had food and drinks in front of them before we were even greeted, we decided to try again. Bad idea. Well we started our second time around with an open mind. Fresh menu. Army of waitstaff even though the place 2/3 empty. Should be good right? Well, no. They were out of menu items, our server was preoccupied with her phone and the manager was mia. I ordered an 12 egg sandwich, my daughter had a pancake and my beautiful and talented gf had an omlette. 32 minutes later we got a dry egg on toast, a mediocre pancake and well.the omlette was just sad. No refills offered on coffee and when we advised this should have been a 15 minute experience not an hour and 15, we were told that the transition to a new concept had everyone busy. Shit on this concept and start a new one? Not for us! Never again! Do yourself a favor and try the Mom and pop place up the road! read more
