Market veggie omelette with Colby jack cheese instead of goat cheese and a side of bacon
Jack P.

Great place for brunch. I prefer the veggies mixed into the egg instead of placed in the center of my omelette, but it was still very good. Eric was a great server, too

Sunday August 31st 10:30 AM. Our son found a hair on the pineapple in the fruit side. I turned to my right to look into the kitchen and realize there are some cooks with no hairnets or nothing over there beards and I was thinking to myself maybe that's where it came from... Our waitress could've been a little bit more bubbly or exciting she seems like she could use a cup of coffee or that she really didn't like her job. I don't think the service business and talking to people is her thing. The overall food and platters were really good. The service was average. We haven't been to this restaurant in quite some time. I was really excited to go with my family. However, the experience was slightly disappointing. Maybe just wished we had a different waitress to serve our table.

First time coming to this location and it was bigger than expected. We went in at 1030am on a Monday and there was no wait. We were seated immediately and the service was helpful and attentive. The food was delicious as always, I tried the salmon frittata for the first time and it was delicious. My husband did the avocado toast and he enjoyed it! I always enjoy plenty of natural light at restaurants and this place definitely did not disappoint with that. It wasn't too loud and we were able to enjoy conversation without raising our voices. I would recommend coming to this location again.

A nice meal but pretty sparse at $14+. Another pancake would have been welcome.

Stopped in while waiting for a relative's appointments to finish up. Ordered the special cinnamon chip pancake meal which comes with 1 large pancake, some bacon (or other meat of your choice), and 2 eggs cooked to order. Everything came fairly quickly and it was tasty. Not overwhelmingly good but just fine. Jagged Fork serves a much more exciting cinnamon pancake. At the $14+ price point one might expect a little more. It would have been nice to have the server check in more often too. Also, when cashing out their credit card tip lines start at 20%. Is this the new normal? Yes, I could have gone custom to get to 15%. It would have been more appropriate for the just ok service. A 3.5 score rounds to an overly generous 4. (Feel like I should also say " everyone knows the rules").

Barbacoa quesadilla Benedict (seasonal)

Pro: Good ambiance. Fast service. Large variety on their menu. A brunch place where you don't have to wait in line for a hour. Con: Food very mediocre. The purple haze drink is pretty but way to sweet. Not refreshing. Barbacoa quesadilla Benedict is also very salty. Not a healthy place like they advertised. Don't plan to return.

Solid spot! Can't go wrong here ! So many offerings on the menu, and you can make a reservation which I find rare at breakfast spots. Service can be a little slow but that's alright bc this is more of a linger and eat place not a quick in and out.

Went to this location for the first time today and went with Avocado Toast from the Healthier Side menu (gotta start somewhere). The thick-cut whole grain toast was COVERED in fresh smashed avocado. Paired with the basted eggs, this was delicious! I highly recommend the location and menu. I look forward to going again soon!

First Watch is always a solid choice. The menu has a variety of options too! We came in around 1 ish and it wasn't all that busy. We had missed the breakfast rush. Thankfully, we got seated right away! My sister and I got the chorizo hash from the seasonal menu, while my other sister got a quesadilla and my mom got the lemon ricotta pancakes. Super filling! My moms pancakes weren't overly sweet which was good. The hash was flavorful, but didn't have much chorizo. Much more potatoes than meat. They also forgot to add scallions to my dish but remembered to add it to my sister's. My other sister's quesadilla looked like two tacos. She liked it but found that it didn't meet her expectations presentation-wise. Prices are reasonable here. Staff is friendly and service is quick! You don't wait long for your food which is great! Parking around here is chaos! There are other restaurants in this area, and even a Planet Fitness. The parking always looks perpetually filled. We did find a parking spot really close to First Watch though.

Didn't review First Watch last time I was in, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but two times of underwhelming experiences leads to this review. Ordered a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon (requested it chewy), potatoes and toast. Eggs were cooked fine; bacon was cooked to a crisp (nothing chewy about it), potatoes underdone (I crunched through a few); toast was ok. My food was warm, but not hot--I'm guessing mine was first in our order to be finished. As a former short order cook I was super underwhelmed. If you're looking for a trendy place and don't mind sub-par food, this is your place. Honestly next time I'll just go to a local Coney Island and find the food hotter and faster and cheaper.

I think I just have bad luck when it comes to First Watch locations. My boyfriend and I decided to try this one out today, since I had been to the other Troy location (Big Beaver/Rochester Rd.) a few years ago and had bad service - so much so that they gave me a $20 "Brunch Bites" card to come back, but due to the pandemic I hadn't used it yet. I figured we'd try this location today instead. First off, the food is always good at First Watch. I ordered the standard brunch platter which came with your choices of meats, as well as multigrain toast with jam, eggs, and potatoes. I don't eat eggs so I gave those to my boyfriend, and I got turkey sausage with it, since we got a side order of their "Million Dollar Bacon," which is always fantastic, and today was no exception. My boyfriend ordered an omelette and enjoyed it also. The first issue was that there was some sort of (syrup?) or something on the booth side of the table. I used a napkin and wiped it off. I went to use the bathroom and came back and apparently no one had come to the table yet. After about 10-15 minutes our waitress showed up and apologized. To preface the rest of this review: we could see she was working hard, she just had a lot of tables. I think this FW location is probably understaffed due to the pandemic. She took our drink + food orders and we got the food maybe 20 minutes later, which was fine. The other issue was that I asked for a box, when we were done eating, and waited ... hadn't seen our waitress yet, so we asked a busgirl, who never came back ... about 20 minutes later, the waitress came over with the box, finally. She also asked my boyfriend if he wanted a to-go drink order of his soda, I think as kind of a peace offering. Probably would not come back to this location again because of the service, unfortunately (friendly service but extremely slow) so I may have to try Big Beaver/Rochester again if I go to First Watch anytime soon. Their food is good (especially that bacon) but I'll probably try another brunch place in the area first, as Troy has no shortage of them.

Lavender lemonade, very good!

We've been here several times on the weekend (even with the kids). The line is never too long, although it can look long but it moves quickly. All the pastries are in the refrigerated case or sitting atop of the counter for you to ogle and salivate at while you patiently wait to give your order. Everything we've tried has been delicious, almost too decadent from the cakes to croissants to sandwiches. We've also had their coffees and hot chocolate. Can't go wrong with a handcrafted beverage to warm you up or cool you down. They do provide a water carafe on the house you just have to go up and get water yourself either way the cups provided. There is a side register near the exit, not sure if that's just for coffee or pickups. Haven't investigated that yet. They have some seating inside of tables and bar seating but nothing more the a 2-3 seats per table, not a place for a large group. Outside on the patio they have large umbrellas and heat lamps depending on the weather. It's also better luck to find a table that can accommodate 4 outside, although the tables are small cafe tables to it's a little cramped for 4, perfect for 2-3. They have low and high top tables available. If you do have a larger group, there is a park a block and a half up Eton that has picnic tables and benches so you can always take your treasures to go and enjoy some people watching at the park. However after placing our order on the screen, the two iced latte drinks came out with no espresso added? Apparently on the ordering screen you have to CHOOSE to add espresso, which is counterintuitive because then it's just sugar milk. Anyways that was fixed and my bubble fruit tea was good. I appreciate all the ways to personalize the tea and it's Good that they have non dairy drinks options! The staff person kinda awkwardly set the tray on our table and left - she didn't hand out the drinks to us, which is kind of weird? The cake we ordered took awhile to come out even though it was right there in the display - and I even inquired about it. we were done with our drinks by the time it came out - so it wasn't great timing and we were just over it. The spoons were cute but way too small to enjoy anything - my kiddo liked it though for a few bites. I feel like this was just for ambience and not really sustenance, not sure if I would come back. Maybe for the noodles or other foods but there's lot of other options nearby! They also advertise pizza on their front sign but I didn't see any on the inside menu...? Easy lot parking - watch out for the large pothole up front though!

If it's my first time getting coffee from a coffee shop, I will get a plain black coffee. Therefore, I ordered black iced coffee, which had a good balance in flavors. As for a second coffee, I ordered the Iced Cafe Miel Latte with oat milk. This drink was very good and there was an even ratio between coffee and milk, not too sweet too. Originally, I wanted to grab my coffee and sit inside the coffee shop (from the view outside, the shop looked pretty and modern) but there was no parking spots and the parking lot is beyond small but I did see folks park in the establishment next door and walk over. The drive thru is narrow but the wait time was a bit long and the person at the drive thru didn't seem enthusiastic. Overall, I did enjoy the coffee but I do not see the hype. It basic coffee, nothing that stands out from the rest. I must say the coffee was a bit overpriced, it did not match the quantity. Would I recommend this place to others? I would, only if you're in the area. I wouldn't drive out of my way (20 min) to grab a coffee from this spot.

I got the "burnt orange espresso tonic" and a "rosemary biscuit". Both were amazing. The biscuit was warm and buttery and the included jam (which appeared house made) was the perfect compliment. The flavor was fresh, light and fruity, with the bitterness of the coffee keeping it grounded and sophisticated. I even ate the orange slice at the end. The wait for my drink was probably about 7-10 minutes but knowing that in the future, I'm willing to plan around if the product is going to be this good. When you need something, it does cause some issue. I sat outside for the first really warm weekend. The table could have used an umbrella. The espresso martini is good. Ordered a Greek salad plus chicken. Just okay for $19. Dressing was good but not standout. For my first time, we ordered a large Mom's House pizza. There is always a concern with tomato on a pizza. With the tomato, cheese, and amount of toppings, the pizza was soggy. Not sure if this is a common issue, or if the crust was undercooked or maybe too much cheese. I deleted the photo. We didn't mention it to the server. Probably should have. Did not want to be that guy though. Took the L. My two patrons ate one slice. I ate two. Threw the rest of the soggy pizza away. I thought it tasted solid, but the sogginess ruined it. The soggy pizza was served without a slice spatula/server - which made the pizza hard to grab. We didn't bother to ask if one was available. I will try another pizza for a second chance. My other patrons would be hard pressed to come back. The soggy pizza ruined their first time opinion. Lastly, the pizza and salad bowl are served on beige, recyclable plates and bowl. While I understand the convenience, it comes across as tacky and limits the ambience. Old pics show the Greek salad presented in a nicer bowl.
