I haven't had first watch in a couple year being back in Nebraska, so I was excited to return as I have always enjoyed it! That being said, I wasn't impressed. Our server was short and acted like she didn't want to be there. She rushes the order and left. She did check on us a couple times. The food was the real disappointment. I've ordered the avocado toast for years and it was bland and flavorless. You could see the avocado was in a bowl before it was put on the cold toast. I got the watermelon wake up, it tasted mostly like mint and pineapple. My friends dish was incredibly salty. I would try another location before I returned here.

For some reason, the food at this location is just not as good as others in town. I usually love First Watch, but my food was overly salted and too much this past time--I had the SoCal bowl. It was loaded with potatoes and had so much salt that I could not eat much of it. Folks at the table commented it looked like I didn't even touch my dish. The portions here are very generous! The service is fantastic, and this location is clean, but I don't even like the food as much there.

I had a doctors appointment in Village point and my husband works near the area so we met up. there's never anything I can say wrong about first watch. The service is always great, the food is always amazing and we just love to relax and enjoy ourselves. I always try something new because the menu is constantly changing to keep up with the seasonal supply. My ultimate favorite thing to order is the million dollar bacon. On this particular day, we ordered two plates. Sometimes you have to splurge.

They told us a 15-20 min wait, we ended up waiting for 50 minutes and I even did the "get in line" on their website. That's our only complaint! Overall the food never disappoints though and very family friendly atmosphere.

Baracoda Breakfast Bowl

Another great experience with my travel favorite breakfast place. This First Watch was across the 4 lane highway from my hotel Home2Suites. Only tricky thing about the parking is if you're planning to get back into the highway after you eat, make sure and go to the stop light to make that left hand turn! Today I got the Baracoda Breakfast Bowl with a side of sourdough toast and it definitely didn't disappoint. Flavorful and filling! My server was also great: friendly and knowledgeable, and she even kept up with my TikTok side of sourdough in a genuine fashion.

I've been to first watch a number of times but this one was different. I usually attend with my family when they come from out of town since they have a wide variety of menu items. My family loves the Belgian waffles and the sunrise granola bowl. This time we decided to change things up a bit and order some fun breakfast drinks! We got the spiked lavender lemonade and the cinnamon toast cereal milk. Both were lovely, but the lavender lemonade was my favorite! As for food, I don't think you could order anything here and not enjoy it! I ordered off the seasonal menu getting the shishito brisket hash and let me tell you, IT. WAS. AMAZING. The creativity put into this dish with the brisket, garlic aioli, and pickled onions was an insanely delicious combination. This was a good pairing with the lavender lemonade. My handsome brunch date ordered the Trifecta. It was the perfect ratio of sweet and savor pairing a light and fluffy Belgian waffle with eggs and a chicken sausage patty. Our waitress was also super sweet and made sure we were taken care of! This establishment is always well maintained and I really thought the Nebraska themed decor was a nice touch. This restaurant never fails to blow my socks off!!

We've been wanting to check this place out for brunch for a long time. I got the biscuits and gravy with potatoes, scrambled eggs and cheese. The biscuits were dry and hard. The gravy was decent. The seasoning on the potatoes was good, but the different sizes in the potatoes led to inconsistency in cooking. Some were undercooked while others had a nice crips. My wife's French toast was excellent, but it was very odd that it didn't come with sides. I had more than enough so we shared. The service was friendly and attentive. It was hit or miss for me, but we may come back.

Last week I had the Carbonara which was delicious. Served with lots of crispy bacon and choices to add. I tried the grilled chicken. The pasta was perfect and the sauce was amazing!! While dining the chef came out to visit and get feedback as well dropped off a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies fresh and warm out of the oven. What a treat!! This is the perfect go to spot for any and everyone. Don't expect sales people to mob you, just follow your nose off the showroom floor. Nice and clean and worth a little wait during busy times. The restaurant offers a mix of booths and tables, and I love the thoughtful theming throughout. The owner is incredible. So kind, genuinely passionate about what he does and always willing to customize orders to make sure guests leave satisfied. My husband and I visited for lunch on Friday. It was busy, but we easily snagged a booth and our food arrived quickly. I tried the Gregg's Chicken Enchiladas and absolutely loved it. So much so that I finished every bite, which is rare for me since I usually get full quickly! The plate wasn't small either, and the chicken was perfectly cooked with just the right touch of spice. It came with a side of black beans and rice. My husband had the Carne Asada Burrito and was equally impressed; he didn't leave a single crumb on his plate. We make it a point to visit at least once a month for breakfast or lunch because we love supporting this place. I cannot recommend it enough!

This time I got the chicken fried steak, with biscuits, and frips on the side. I'll be honest that the chicken fried steak wasn't as good as last time-- it was more of a ground beef texture. The biscuits were absolutely amazing, and the perfect texture and taste to go with the gravy! The frips were also surprisingly good as I'm not a huge potato person! The burrito bowl is also something I wouldn't have ordered myself, but my friends loved it! Overall, it did have a good flavor, better than I expected. I love a pancakes come with real maple syrup! This is a huge plus for me, as it makes such a difference in my opinion. Overall, the price point for these made from scratch Meals is so good! This may be my favorite brunch in the city, as everything comes out piping hot, and incredibly fresh. Service is also amazing as well! The restaurant is small, with one back room that allows for a more intimate setting. There's also a patio, which I have not yet gotten to sit on with the cold weather! I would recommend making a reservation in advance since there is not a huge amount of seating.

Most of the dishes have sausage gravy, and you can't request not to include sausage gravy. Placed and order, server came back to our table to let us know that they can not make anything without sausage gravy if it's included. Makes me wonder if everything is pre-made and just warmed up. So I had to sit while my girlfriend had her breakfast. Update Please don't put words in my mouth. We ordered a latte. If the server chooses the side, the paying customer needs to be notified or asked. I asked it it was possible to have WITHOUT sausage gravy. I was told that was no problem. Then that they were unable to remove sausage gravy. I never spoke to you about that, again please don't out words into the customers mouth. I asked to remove the sausage gravy. I DO NOT eat pork. Removing sausage from the gravy would not total remove the pork from the gravy.... Think about how dumb that sounds. I can't believe you, who I did not speak to, would phrase it like that. Again I asked to have without Sausage gravy and the kitchen said no. After that, we noticed the charge for the latte. I said the menu said $5.75 was the small. Why did you charge for the large? Server said he would fix it. Maybe you should have the server reply as he took the order The description on the menu said sliced steak. It was not. If it is designed to be an open faced sandwich, maybe put that on the menu. When I order a sandwich that's what I expect. I was not expecting it to be sauggy to have to use a fork to eat a sandwich. This was our first time here, I did not know it was an open faced Sandwich. Rather than be surprised again and have to refuse food. We went somewhere we know how the food is served without surprises. And if we ask no sausage gravy, they kindly serve without sausage gravy. Having a well trained server could have made all the difference. I also though about ordering something else. I ask what kind of pancake syrup was available, we were told sugar and sugar fee. Picking up the server didn't understand the question, I ordered something else rather than try to get the server to understand what I meant. When I ordered hash browns, the server asked do I want them how it comes, or extra crispy? When I asked how do the hash browns normally come, the server said the "regular" way. I didn't want to make our server feel stupid, because I don't know what the regular way is either, so we went along with it and tried to make the best of it. You on the other hand fail in the area of emotional intelligence and I can't believe you would put words, creating your customers response is beyond anything I could imagine. WOW

For my beverage, I ordered the maple chai, which I was excited about, but unfortunately the flavor fell a bit flat and didn't really taste like maple or chai. I love the mission and atmosphere, and I'm glad it exists in Omaha, but I'm not sure I'd go back based on my experience. That said, given how busy it was, it could've just been an off day for me.

But my son and I both agreed that we were quite pleased with our pivot plan to visit Con Azucar! We hadn't yet been in, I'd seen tons of photos but that was about it. For breakfast, I got myself a chilaquiles meal because that's my favorite - their take on it was decent: the sauce was the real star. I appreciated that it was served platter style with house potatoes, beans, and I believe there was also rice. This made it super easy to split the meal with my son: we just added a couple of eggs to the chilaquiles for me, and then ordered him a side of beef and a delicious pastry, and then there were plenty of sides on my dish that he enjoyed picking at. I actually was not planning on getting coffee here but toward the end of our visit I decided it would be a loss not to try it while we were in here. I ended up deciding on an iced Mazapan latte and I was very pleasantly surprised! I have since returned for this exact latte again. It is such a great balance of creamy and sweet and nutty. For my personal palette, I'd probably prefer it with one extra shot just because it is quite sweet, but however they are making their Mazapan syrup... Man, they've nailed it! HIGHLY recommend trying that when you're visiting!
