The food is great! I love that they offer healthy food that tastes great. My problem with this First Watch has always been the service. I have been to this location at least 15 times since it opened and it always ends the same. Great enjoyable food with a waitress that shows up every 45 minutes to refill a drink or check on you. Not only do they lack the ability to provide service while you are there they also are not friendly and just have a blah attitude towards everyone. My family has eaten at First Watch for breakfast shortly after the restaurant opens. We always had great service and a short wait to be seated and served. Today we decided to try eating there for lunch. When we arrived around 11:15am, the hostess let us know there would be a 30 minute wait, including both inside and outside seating. After about 15 minutes, we noticed the outside seating was available with just a few customers seated in the area. We also noticed the tables were not being cleaned and turned over to seat other customers. When inquiring on the wait and open seating outside, the hostess said they were short staffed. As a customer, I do not want to know about being short staffed. All hands should be on deck to help shorten the wait time to get customers seated and served. I inquired again with the hostess when the waiting time was approaching the expected 30 minutes. As I looked around, there were also many tables available inside as the late morning crowds began to lessen. The hostess let me know that it would be another 15 minutes because 4 other people/couples/families were ahead of me. I told her to take my name off the list and my family and I left. We found another place to eat for lunch where we were seated quickly and had great service. First Watch in Northglenn exhibited their inability to handle crowds on a Saturday during brunch time. The staff was not able to have all hands on deck to turn around tables to seat customers more quickly and maximize the seating areas. We will think twice about eating at First Watch in Northglenn for either breakfast or lunch. We had a poor experience today. read more

I returned to First Watch to give it another shot and I want to update my thoughts about it. The food is good and I am a fan of the coffee. I still don't like the "whip" that they provide for pancakes, etc., feel that good 'ol real butter is MUCH better and was disappointed that even when I asked for it, it was not an option which seems like an unfortunate choice given the farm to table emphasis. The servers are generally friendly and if they make a point to come around often enough to clear off the creamer, honey and jam containers, then the table doesn't feel cluttered. I'll go back. We tried First Watch for the first time this morning. We arrived at 8:15 am, got seated promptly, and our waitress got our coffee and water. Came back shortly taking our orders. It was not real crowded, but people came in pretty steady around 8:30 and we still had not gotten our breakfast. We noticed that people who came in about at that time were getting their orders in less than 10 minutes. I saw our waitress several times, and even pointed to my watch, which she ignored. Then 4 people came in at 8:40 and got served by 8:48, and that was it for us! I believe a manager was busing a table next to ours, and we said that we had been waiting for 40 minutes for our meal. This is our first and last time here. He just said, "didn't anyone wait on you? " I said yes, she took our order 35 minutes ago and then we walked out. I can't believe that she walked by our table at least 5-6 times and didn't realize that we had no food after sitting there that long. Horrible service!! read more

Good food and friendly waitstaff, which yielded the 2 stars. We have had good experiences in the past. Unfortunately today was a terrible example. Waited 45 minutes for a table. Not unexpected on the weekend. However, when we ordered, we were told that the kitchen was "a little backed up". It is partially my fault for not asking her to define 'a little'. After 30 minutes with no sign of our food or food on any of the tables we could see, we started asking for an estimate. After several '5-10 minute' responses (and another 30 min), we were finally served. Creating a positive customer experience is about setting appropriate expectations. We would have appreciated an honest estimate or warning from the host and/or waitstaff that they were missing cooks and it would be an hour to receive food once seated. Hope the management is able to facilitate a better experience in the future. read more

Three strikes and you're out! Last three times had to send food back it WAS not cooked. Got there a hour before closing enough time to eat and get out befor closing! Sent it back still was not cooked,could see the manager was with the cook! When I talked to the manager he just said he was sorry, he never made it right. The manager was so worried about getting everyone out, he didn't care! We will NOT be returning! The other mangers are just as hateful! Save your money, don't bother! read more

Almost got 5 stars but the service is sorta slow but understandable considering there was one waitress for more than 5 tables.

The food is great, but it's the lack of management and hostesses taking initiative to utilize all their open tables outside for parties who didn't want to wait an hour to be seated. However my problem is that I explained we would sit outside in the beginning of our wait because there were open tables and sitting outside was an option. So about we were told to hold on why the hosts asked. We waited until about 50 min into our wait with 10 min to go, we were called to sit outside now. Fine that's cool I guess had that been 50 min earlier. I asked if our actual call to be seated was our actual wait and the host said no but that we looked frustrated so they put us outside. So we we never got served drinks, or anything and about 10 min we got up and left! Told the hostesses thanks for nothing. Hey I've never in my life did a burn out with my vehicle but thanks to first watch I was so frustrated and angry I did! My wife and I have been laughing about it all morning lol! My husband and I tried this this morning and we love us some breakfast food. The waiter was friendly and the food was pretty good (I had the French toast with eggs and he had a ginormous pancake with potatoes and eggs). The reason for the three out of five stars is how we felt. Extremely rushed to order, finish, and leave. While the waiter was polite, he barely gave us time to look at the menu... even after we requeested he give us a few minutes. He gave us one. I didn't feel the need to argue so I feel like I didn't have time to look over the menu to decide on what I really wanted. No more than five minutes after getting our food, he gave us our check and wished us a Merry Christmas. Polite yes, but we wanted to ENJOY our morning together and take our time. There was no line waiting for tables and there were empty tables everywhere. I'm sure we'll be back and they probably just anticipated to be hit with a morning rush... yet there wasn't even one before or after we arrived or left. Again, food was awesome, service needs a tad bit of work. Let your customers enjoy the atmosphere (which is also comfortable and inviting). read more

Eh, not exciting, pairing the sketchy service with the okay food. With only two couples ahead of us when we arrived for Sunday brunch and open tables, we figured we'd be seated quickly. We waited about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad in the Sunday brunchiverse; however a couple who came in after us was seated before us. They asked for an outside table and were immediately seated. When we arrived we weren't offered an inside-or-outside option. After being seated, we waited 7 minutes before any of the waitstaff even glanced our way...and the first one to glance our way completely ignored our empty coffee cups and juice glasses and made her best effort to forget she had seen us. Finally a server arrived, by all appearances annoyed by our presence. She did, however, bring us coffee and then begrudgingly take our order. The good news - our food was out to us 6 minutes later. And it was okay - the Key West Crepeggs contained what appeared to be an entire avocado and half a pig's worth of bacon and was tasty, but the husband's biscuits and gravy was merely passable (I have given up my quest for a decent biscuit and gravy in Colorado) and his scrambled eggs were "weird" - whites and yolks scrambled separately and then thrown together, yolks not completely cooked. Overall, food was good enough to merit a second visit but the service needs a boost or there won't be a third. read more

I have been to First Watch many times since they opened, then stayed away for some time because of what I feel is a huge problem. In their defense, their food is fresh and very good, but ever since they began doing business, they never have enough staff on board to handle the large or smaller amount of customers. I was there Sunday, Mar. 19, and the wait time was 45 minutes, however the whole time my friend and I waited, there were at least 20% unoccupied tables and even when we finally got seated, the service was slow and there was still a long group of patrons waiting, while there were still many, many open tables. Our server was OK, but I think all the servers get overwhelmed and cannot keep up because of the lack of amount of servers in the restaurant. I will perhaps try this place one more time after taking a break, but I eat out quite frequently and there any many other places that have great quality dishes along with great quality service. In the past, we (many people I've taken there) have talked to the manager/owner? about this and they always say "we're trying" but it appears even after staying away from First Watch for awhile, nothing has changed! I am very disappointed and wish they would change things asap. read more

Absolutely horrid experience. I've been to first watch before in other states and loved the experience any time I have gone but the colorado store needs to step up there game. A group of us (3 people) went in before we were going to hit the trails and a day of adventure. I made the recommendation to go to FW based on the awesome experience that I've had before. Needless to say that was not the case when we went to the northglenn store. I ordered a stack of pancakes which came out still RAW in the middle so they re made it and took twenty minutes for the pancakes to come back to the table. No manager came to the table to make sure everything was all right our server Jessica was the only good thing she was very polite and seemed educated on the menu. The kitchen was loud and definitely needs to step it up if they want to be up to par with some of the other breakfast places in colorado. We then went to pay the check and the spacey hostess gave us the wrong change. All in all I will not be recommending First Watch to anybody you are better going to a place like snooze or any other breakfast place. If I could give it zero stars I would. read more

I ordered the Veggie Grill with dressed greens in balsamic to-go. I have a mild dairy allergy, but nothing serious and I can eat it in small doses. I placed my order without any butter or cheese, and the server was very polite and told me the veggies are already prepped in butter (totally fine with me). The food came out quickly, I asked for an extra side of mayo, paid, and left. Once I got back to work and opened the meal it looked pitiful to say the least. There was NO basil pesto OR mayo on the entire sandwich. The bread was TINY, barely grilled and looked and tasted like a slice of cheap wheat bread you would find at the grocery store for 99 cents! Good thing I asked for a side of mayo or else this thing would have been completely dry. Now I understand that the basil pesto may have dairy in it, but I asked for no cheese or additional butter, that's it. If the server would have told me I'd be getting this without pesto or mayo I wouldn't have ordered it. The whole purpose I came into this place for lunch was because I was craving a pesto veggie grilled sandwich. Needless to say, after eating this ugly, sad excuse for a sandwich, my craving was NOT satisfied AT ALL. Not worth the money! read more
