Pretty good burger. For those who like to drink under a thatched roof outside, there is a tikki hut. The establishment's motif is all over the map. But let's just stay with the island theme in Naples, FL. Would I go back again? I don't know, I have had this book marked, and I have eaten at another of their establishments, Sonny's. POV: You're finishing your coffee at your favorite breakfast spot and a stranger steals your coffee…read more Okay so. We have been going to The Rooster in Naples for YEARS. Years. Long before it was on food network. The food? Immaculate. Never once had an issue. Today? Today changed everything. Our waitress was an angel, no notes, we love her. We're sitting there, happy, sipping our coffee, not even an hour into the meal, barely finished eating, when suddenly a completely different server materializes out of nowhere and just... puts her hands. On the WHOLE top, every inch of the top half of our coffee cups. Mid sip energy. And starts trying to take it. This was our FIRST ever interaction with this woman. First words exchanged. We say, simply: "we are just going to finish our coffees." She hears us. Denies it. And grabs the cups anyway. I look up like excuse me?? And she looks at me, dead in the eye, and goes: "Well aren't you done?" MA'AM. NO. We were NOT done. We hadn't even finished writing the tip on the receipt which, by the way, she then just SNATCHES off the table. Gone. Like a magic trick nobody asked for, and I certainly didn't order. I say, still not finished. And this is where it gets unhinged, because she goes: "well there's a wait." A wait?? For WHAT. There were FOUR tables open inside. EIGHT tables open outside. Not a single soul waiting for a seat. She said it like she was reading off a script from a restaurant that was actually busy, which plot twist it was not. Then, and I need you to picture this, she starts REACHING ACROSS ME. Full arm extension. Into my personal space. Grabbing plates. Grabbing cutlery. I am frozen. I do not know this woman. She does not know me. And yet here we are, inches apart, over a fork. Questioning if I should ask for her last health test results because we are sharing breaths like a horror movie. My companion, sensing the unhingedness of the woman gets up to go find our ACTUAL waitress, the good one, because at this point all we want in this world is to finish our coffee, leave our 30% tip (we were being SO generous, we do not play like that), and say thank you like normal diners. But does the story end there? IT DOES NOT. Because as my companion is trying to talk to our sweet waitress, coffee cup snatcher strikes again and BUTTS IN. Not once. Multiple times. Interrupting my companion mid-sentence, over and over, like she just could not let the woman finish a single thought. Louder. Meaner. Full attitude, unprompted, uninvited, unwell, unhinged. Our actual waitress, bless her, is apologizing over and over, offers us brand new coffees, offers to reseat us like nothing happened. And she was so genuinely kind about it that we almost said yes. Almost. But we were both so shaken by that point that we just... left. And the WILDEST part? This woman was TRAINING someone. Actively. In real time. Passing the torch. Teaching the next generation how to traumatize brunch customers over a coffee cup. We love The Rooster. But that experience? Left a mark. I'll send you my therapy bill Roosters.

Our party of six was seated promptly. The menu offered plenty of choices, so it took us a while to decide. We ordered a full rack of ribs, Florida Cobb salad, bone-in pork chop, grilled fish special, and other entrées. Each meal came with sides such as smashed sweet potatoes, crock pot beans, and steamed broccoli. The portions were generous, and everything was flavorful. The only disappointment was with my bone-in pork chop. Somehow, my order never made it to the kitchen. Once the mistake was discovered, the kitchen prepared it quickly, and it arrived exactly five minutes later. Unfortunately, it was raw in the center. I was told that the pork chop is normally served slightly pink, but this was clearly undercooked. I wish I had taken a photo. The kitchen promptly took it back and returned it properly cooked. Despite this mishap, the staff handled the situation professionally, and the overall service was good. The food was delicious, the portions were excellent, and I would consider returning, hoping this was just an isolated kitchen error.

From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. Thanks to Angel and the kitchen for such an outstanding experience. Seventh South has earned a spot on our regular rotation whenever we're in Naples.

When we walked into the restaurant, we were presently surprised on how pretty the place transformed from what used to be Three60 Market. Cozy, rustic, chic. Since it is a small place, every table seemed to have a view of the river. They also had outdoor dining, which would be nice once the weather gets cooler. We arrived right when they opened so we were initially the only people there. However, that quickly changed in the next hour or 2. We were seated by the hostess, and our waiter quickly appeared. He was warm and friendly and was attentive throughout the night. They had a good selection of wines by the glass, and specialty cocktails From the summer dining specials, we all ordered different entrees. Everything was delicious. Both the appetizers and dinner were full portions. Great deal for the price. All of us will be coming back, and bringing our husbands.

I parked near their walkway sign and once I ventured through, it's such a lovely walk up to the restaurant with a bridge over water with fountains and tons of blooms everywhere. Once inside, I was met with a bright, crisp dining room that was clean and comfortable. We started with cocktails and I got their version of a Manhattan, the hog-hattan. It's made with Whistlepig 6 year and came out on the rocks. Manhattans not served up are kinda a pet peeve of mine--but this one? Truly and honestly one of the best Manhattans of my life. The server did not steer me wrong. It was exquisite. For my dinner, my dining companion and I opted for a deal they had that allowed you a starter and main for a reasonable price. I got the kale salad for my starter which was bursting with flavor--chopped kale, brussels sprouts, butternut squash, chevre, and a bright citrus-y vinaigrette--what's not to love? For my main, I got their Mahi Mahi which was also perfectly executed. It was served over a bed of rice and asparagus with chopped mango and a sauce (not sure what kind but balanced the dish perfectly) on top. I would have a hard time not ordering this dish again. It was craveable. Our server was lovely and provided wonderful recommendations for both myself and my dining companion. No notes! Get to it!

I asked for her recommendations and I went with the hogfish sandwich. Luckily, she told me I could get it grilled and blackened instead of fried. I could tell they knew how to cook fish because it came out perfectly. Most would probably think it was undercooked, but that's how fish should be cooked. I appreciated this attention to detail and thought it was delicious.

While scrolling through some of the photos and reviews, I saw the stuff French toast and I was immediately in! We came on a Saturday morning and they were busy enough but not packed. We asked for their first available, which was outside. During summer it's a bit of a risk to sit outdoors, but it was in a covered area. They have a little side patio area, but a lot of the outdoor tables are randomly placed up against the building and in the walkway to accommodate additional guests. It's kind of weird when people that live in the building walk by as the walkways aren't very wide. The inside area of the restaurant is not very large. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Even if she did spill a bit of coffee on me which she was apologetic for. My husband got the crab cake Benedict and I got the strawberry stuffed French toast. Absolutely loved everything! My husband's only note was that he did not like the corn inside crab cake. The cheesy hash browns were definitely a hit for us! The stuffed French toast was divine - basically desert! I like that the dish also came with eggs and bacon! The iced coffee was pretty good as well. Overall, this was a great experience with the exception of the weird outside seating arrangement. 8/10 recommend!
