Don't order carryout because they screw up every time. The food is always good and not crazy expensive.

Love the food, but I almost always have to send something back. Usually because it's freezing cold or comes out ten minutes before my dining partners food. The wait staff is always friendly and accommodating but the service is so slow we don't come here that much anymore. Who has the time! read more

Seen it on yelp for breakfast and brunch very happy I decided to munch. shrimp and grits cooked to taste and a price that's wasn't a waste i know my rap was lame but I'm full and currently still at my tables read more

Zero stars if possible. I have never left a review before but my experience here was so awful I decided I needed to share it. This is my second time dining at this location (had an okay experience the first time and decided to give it a second chance) and it was a HUGE mistake. The long wait to be seated didn't bother me at all and neither did the long wait for food (40 minutes) after ordering. But several things did bother me. First of all, our waitress never came by to check on us or ask how the food was, so when we had problems we had to flag her down. We asked to split a drink and the waitress forgot, then later gave us an empty glass and told us to split it ourselves at the table, which was a very messy ordeal. My friend ordered the BLT eggs benedict, which arrived without avocado (as listed on the menu) and with mixed greens instead of potatoes like she asked. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict; the eggs were cold to the touch, way overcooked, and the smoked salmon tasted tough and chewy. To top off the experience, I've been running to the bathroom with food poisoning for the last four hours and can't leave the house (this is the only place I've dined at in the last few days, so the culprit isn't hard to guess). Will never return, and will recommend my brunch-loving friends take their business elsewhere. read more

I love this place and i love the food here. HOWEVER, the wait time is ridiculous!!!!!!!!! I'm at the restaurant right now and it's not busy at all (on a Tuesday) and we've been waiting here for over 40 minutes for our food to come out and i've been observing other customers who have been here longer than us and still haven't gotten their food. I usually don't complain but, i had to say something. Absolutely terrible. read more

The only reason I keep coming to this place is because I'm too lazy to drive into Rockville Town Center. The service is still slow, and the food is mediocre at best. My omelette had cooled to the point that the cheese inside had re-hardened. I know Sunday brunch Rush is difficult, but come on-- you guys have had over a month to get it right. You should take some of the seasoned staff from the other location and bring them here to fix the problems. read more

Went here for breakfast while we were in town. The food was delicious and the portions were big too. Our server was very nice. Great little spot! read more

Solid basic breakfast. Chickichanga is pretty good. Are they giving me decaf instead of regular coffee though? Where the caffeine at.

Was recommended this place by a good friend, so since we had the day off thought we would give it a try. There was a wait (about 30 mins) but not too bad. When we got seated there were coffee grounds in the cups preset on the table. These were taken away and replaced when the waitress finally came over after about 5 mins. The service for the rest of the meal was ok at best. Drinks were kept full, but no small plates were provided for the appetizer and the finished plates were not cleared. The food was ok, but not exceptional. There was nothing wrong with it but nothing great either. We had high hopes for this place, as there is very limited options for a sit down breakfast restaurant in the area, but it fell short. Might try this place again, but more than likely not. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. We put in to wait in line from the website - said it would be a 1-2 hour wait. No problem yet. Placed an order for takeout, would be about 20 -25 minutes. Arrived and picked up our order no problem. I received a call on my cell phone as soon as we had left and had gone too far to easily turn around and come back that they had not put one part of our order in our bag. I asked that the amount for the item to just be refunded to my card. The woman on the phone told me she would check with her manager and call me back. When she did call back, I was in the bathroom and unable to answer. She didn't hang up upon getting my voicemail and left a three minute voicemail. When I attempted to call back she picked up the phone and just sat the receiver down as I heard pots and pans clanking and the kitchen staff talking. I hung up and called back and the same thing happened again. Not the first time I've been disappointed by this place but it will dang sure be the last. Will never return and will never recommend. read more

One of the best breakfast places in Gaithersburg. Great environment and excellent quality. 4 out of 5 stars due to there is a long wait on weekends. read more

I'm very disappointed in this location. I'm from Pittsburgh and this is one of my favorite places to eat there. I was excited to find a location close to my boyfriends house and bring him here to try it. The food was flavorful as usual. My boyfriend got the cornbread carnitas bowl. It was good but there was only like a spoon full of carnitas. That was disappointing. Also from the time we received our food until we finished it our sever,Delaney, NEVER came to check on us at all. She passed us multiple times and never even acknowledged us. I have been a server for 10 years and I wasn't even upset that she never checked on us when we got our food because we were fine and I get that it gets really busy sometimes. I was just annoyed that I stacked our plates and set them to the side in hopes that she would at least ask us if we were ready for the check. About 10min past and she passed our table multiple times with still no acknowledgement. I finally walked up to ask the hostess if I could pay. She never said bye to us or apologized. None of the workers, except for the hostess, seemed very welcoming or friendly. Will not be returning to this location. read more

This is a really nice brunch place, open from 6am - 2pm. There is usually about a twenty minute wait, so not a great place if you are tight on time. However, if you have time, every minute of the wait is worth it. The food is AMAZING. I usually get the trifecta. The eggs are great, the pancake is amazing and the bacon is astounding. Not to mention the freshly-pressed orange juice! This place also has a really nice atmosphere and very helpful staff. I would really recommend this place. read more

Stopped in for a quick solo breakfast. Super-fast and friendly service and the quality food First Watch is known for. Just a couple minutes off I-270, so it's convenient if you're just passing through. read more

Another great experience today. There are some Yelp reviews that complain about the size of the meals. I have no idea what they mean - the portions are perfect and very filling. read more

i went to First Watch this morning for eggs benedict - one of my favorite breakfast food. They have two options - one with ham and tomato and the other with spinach, avocado, and tomato. I had a really great waitress who kept coming by to ask if I needed anything else. She was able to give me an iced coffee the way she would make it (so I could add the flavored creamers on the table instead of the syrup used in the kitchen). She also was able to tell me, upon my asking, if the tomato on both options for eggs benedicts was cold (yes) as was the spinach and avocado, but I could ask for them to be warm. Who puts cold tomato, spinach, and avocado on eggs benedict? I asked for them to be warm and she said the kitchen could do that. Once I finally received my dish, which came with fried potatoes I was let down. First, the potatoes were cold and had no flavor. Thank goodness, S&P, hot sauce and ketchup were on the table and I was able to dress them up. I then cut into my eggs and they were hard boiled! Ugh. Am I the only person who knows that poached eggs aren't supposed to be well done? The nice waitress took my order back and it took another 20 minutes to get it. I got there about 9 o'clock but didn't leave until about 10:15. I may try this place again, but I'll get the smoked salmon toast instead. read more

We had a TERRIBLE experience at this place, very unfortunate as I love FW! And been wanting to come for a long time. Besides the long, expected wait (no complaints there), we were sat down and server came up fairly quick, took our order and brought water. 40 minutes later, with still no food, no ordered drinks and NOBODY even coming up to us, we caught another server and asked for manager, few minutes after that, my sister's juice came out, 40 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS ORDERED. Then food started coming out, my husbands entree and my toddler's pancakes, entree was barely warm. In about 5 minutes after that my sister got her sandwich and then was told the soup she ordered was not available any longer, then 5 minutes after that I got my entree, so I got my food about 10 mins after my husband... To top it off, my poached eggs were basically hard boiled. Also, when I asked the server if they still have bacon pancakes, she told me they do not, however, they have pancakes and bacon so they can still make them. Later she brought out plain pancake with 2 slices of bacon on a side... Not sure why she would offer it, if it wasn't a possibility. Food was pretty good otherwise (just to give SOME credit), but having to wait for it for 40 minutes without any kind of acknowledgement from the server is NOT acceptable in my opinion... Manager was definitely not phased by us complaining that it took so long and made it seem like it's a normal practice at a restaurant, I guess it might be at First Watch... read more

Just ate brunch at this location with my family. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was impeccable. Thank you to our server Antonio for a wonderful experience. We will be back! read more

I've been here a few times for breakfast and finally decided I have enough of a feel to write an appropriate review. Gluten free options are not straight forward here which was a little frustrating for me. There is usually a wait but they provide free coffee while you wait which is nice. The servers are always really nice. I also like that they have different healthy drinks such as their Day Glow and Morning Meditation. One recommendation I would make if you order the potatoes is ask for them well done. Other than that their prices aren't bad and they have a lot of healthier options on their menu. read more

Food is terrific. Service not so much. There have been several experiences where after sitting down the servers seem to purposefully ignore us. They seem to walk right past us and run to hide in the back as soon as we get seated. Hire some people who want to take tables and make money. If you aren't ready to work in the morning you shouldn't be waiting tables at a breakfast restaurant. Won't be back for a while. read more

I was very excited to hear that a First Watch was opening in Gaithersburg. However, this location has a lot to learn from their Rockville location. The wait was longer than expected by the host, who was not friendly; the food was not spectacular; the waitress provided poor service; and our water glasses were dirty. I recommend the Rockville location! read more

We finally made it over for breakfast and it was the best way to start 2015. The atmosphere is adorable, the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I had the trifecta with egg whites and a waffle. It was one of the best waffles I've had in a while. My husband had the via veneto omelette. I snagged a bite of the sausage and was very jealous. We are so excited to have finally found a brunch place in Gaithersburg. read more

First we waited too long for a table because they didn't get my husbands name right, and when we were called, we didn't know it was us and they gave our table to someone else. Nobody at the front desk seemed to really care. After my husband complained that people who arrived after us were being seated, the young man at the desk said 'you're on the list now'. Then Slow painful service waiting for our breakfast. Must be changing of the guard or something going on in the kitchen. Ridiculous. I hope the food is worth the wait...... Well it wasn't. We both had a hash dish w eggs over medium. The hash was mostly potatoes that had a funny oily taste with No seasoning. My husband's eggs were over cooked. English muffins were barely toasted. It took 45 minutes to be served a mediocre breakfast. 1hr 10 minutes for the whole experience. The only saving grace was good coffee, a nice side of fruit and very nice waiter...and knowing from perusing the other patrons that we weren't the only people wasting our time and money on a Sunday morning at this restaurant. read more

Absolutely delicious!, this place is beautiful, cozy and welcoming! The servers and the staff are amazing! Did i mention yummy!

We waited an hour to get seated and 30 minutes for our food. The food came to the table and was cold around the edges with a slight hint of warm in the middle. I couldn't taste the chorizo in my omelette because there was only a few tiny specs of it. Ridiculous. When I told the waiter about our food being cold he said he would talk to the manager and offered to remake our food. We were starved by then and ate it cold. The manager said and did nothing. Also the waiter did not bring cream to the table when he served us coffee and tea. Hmmm. Think I'm going back? No way. Don't waste your money here!!!! A chorizo chile omelette with avocado with sour cream would have tasted great BUT there was only a spec of each so why bother. read more

UHHH MAE ZING! I leave reviews quite often becauSe I'm obsessed with food and feedback. First watch has an amazing eye catching indoor setup with the perfect amount of modern rustic touch. On my first visit I ordered the salmon Benedict and also the blt Benedict both with the seasoned potatoes and an extra side of French toast. The salmon was smoked perfectly and not too much holandaise sauce which was great and the egg was poached to excellence! The BLT Benedict had too much of the arugula sprinkled on top, seemed like the star of the plate Instead of the bacon being the shinning star. Would of liked thicker bacon. The potatoes were a great side to these two Benedict however, a little under seasoned. French toast was the perfect amount of tHick and the fruit spread option on the side was to die for. I'm a plain Jane but that spread caught my eye. Last but not least the most important thing about the morning is COFFEE. I may be a youngster but I enjoy some great black coffee especially if it's a dark roast. The coffee was a little too bitter for me but a little sugar did the trick so I still enjoyed my two cups. Overall GREAT experience. I'll have to go back definitely! read more

We went in about 12:45 on Tuesday. More than half of tables were empty but they couldn't seat us since all empty tables were dirty. Waited about 10 minutes to get a table cleaned. It seemed like the wait staff didn't want to clean tables. Then getting our food was very slow although several waiters not busy. Waiters were having a great time talking among themselves. Maybe everyone was on their break??? This place needs a manager who can get the staff to work. On other visits during less busy times the same slow service existed with staff in "party" mode behind the counter. Food was okay, not great. read more

I have been here several times. Open until 2:00 pm. The place is very casual. The menu is small, but most breakfast items are pretty good. The service is good and I like the coffee, although my daughter says it is a little weak. I did try a sandwich once and won't order again. This place gets really crowded, so the earlier you make it there, the better. They don't take reservations; not sure about call-ahead. While waiting to be seated, one can view some empty tables, so maybe the staff-to-table ratio could be improved. Also, sometimes the booth seats are not wiped off and there are crumbs or evidence of other food left by previous patrons. But, all in all, it is one of the better places for breakfast in the area. read more

I have had nothing but great food here! The service was good and attentive. I had the chicken salad on one occasion and one of the protein special bowls. It was very delicious! Great addition to Gaithersburg without the parking drama/waits of the Crown or same-old of Panera. Our party was 2 adults and 2 toddlers and we all enjoyed ourselves. Waitress was attentive, food was good. Only feedback is about the kids portion--- huge portion size and not kid friendly. Next time my daughter can split mine. read more

Could be sooo much better, busy place as usual alot of guest, we got seat fast and had our food brought out quickly which was great. I had ordered the acopulco express ( w/chorizo sausage, avacado, onions, sour cream). There was little to no sausage in my omlet. The potatoes were mediocre. Lucky the service makes up for that so they get a two star on my books. Hope this helps read more

Food was okay, had much higher expectations. The pancakes were kind of dry. The kale tonic was very good. The service was horrible, took over 10 minutes to get greeted at our table. Took 15 minutes to get out drinks. Even though they seemed understaffed, their service was bad. One of the servers kept mistaking our table for another and seemed completely disoriented. read more
