This is one of the best and tastiest restaurant. Service is very very good. Their coffee is simply THE Best. I love this place!!

The service was ok. Ordered the short rib, got about one rib on our plate. When the waitress approached us and asked if we were happy about our choice, I remarked it was good but the portion size of the rib was very small, almost an after thought. She said she was sorry but did absolutely nothing to fix the issue. Probably not go back again. read more

Not overly busy today. Yelp says 26 minute wait. Host says 75-90. 45 minutes into wait, restaurant still not overly busy. 2 people sitting and waiting. Host says "you are 40 minutes into what we told you would be 75-90." Not impressed - won't be back read more

So after a failed trip to the MVA my Wife and I were in need of some yummy breakfast. First Watch was close by and I had previously been to the one in Rockville but right upon walking in to the Gburg location the decor and ambiance suited me much better. We got a table in the back and the server, Latonya (loved her!) greeted us and we immediately ordered some of their house made juices. Morning Meditation for my Wife and Lemon-aide for myself. Both were amazing! We used to juice regularly and enjoyed them very much. The price couldn't be beat either ($3.99 each). As for our orders we got the Eggs Florentine and Avocado Toast, wowowow. The eggs were all cooked PERFECTLY, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the potatoes were delicious! In addition I LOVE a place that doesn't have Heinz ketchup, as if we needed anymore High Fructose Corn Syrup in more of the crap we eat. Little details like that make a huge difference in my book. We very much enjoyed everything. Next time I'm in the mood for breakfast this will definitely be the first place I think of. read more

Don't waste y'all please it's not wroth the money. And the food did not look presentable read more

Wanted to give it a second chance and they did not disappoint, service was very good, food was awesome and you can feel the sense of teamwork. Very good atmosphere for brunch looks like they finally got their act together and will definitely be coming back. read more

The wait was a bit long, but it was Sunday! We put ourselves on the waiting list using their app. The food was great and our friends who were visiting from Ca. were impressed. This was our second visit to First Watch and we can't stop raving about it. read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. Today is the first time my husband and I have been back to Gaithersburg First Watch in almost a year. Stopped visiting due to poor service. Well, today reinforced that reasoning. Attempted to check-in at 9am for breakfast. The vestibule was full with people waiting. We were told it was going to be at least a 30min wait. Normally I would have no issue whatsoever with this; however, looking around the restaurant and seeing the majority of it empty raised a red flag. Sorry, not wasting my time. Headed to Ted's Bulletin at Crown, less than 5 minutes away. Several other customers were following us. Ted's thanks you for the additional business! read more

Once I was seated this morning, I waited a whole 10 minutes before a waitress even approached my table. I could totally understand if they were busy. However, this was an early afternoon Thursday. Once, she finally approached me I was so angry and ready to order. I told her my order and she was trying to convince me to get something different. I have been to this First Watch location once before and the service was terrible. I excused them simply because they were busy. Now, I understand it's just a bad customer service business. The best location I have ever attended was in Bowie, MD. They are always busy but, never short with the best customer service. I just can't with location. Poor service and also my bacon was old and not hot. When you see the grease on the bacon has settled in and not shining like a star. You know it's old. Lol. Just take the extra drive and visit the Bowie location. I know I will from here on out. read more

So proud of the host, Oliver- he handled an irate customer that was upset with the wait- called Oliver a liar and was shouting and making a huge scene as well as dropping F bombs - other customers got up to get involved and it was wildly inappropriate because we are all waiting for brunch. I hope that First Watch commends Oliver and bars this customer and his wife from ever ruining all of our breakfast here! It's just brunch people! But the truth is that it is worth the wait and that good- but no establishment or their employees deserve a little Napoleon complexed ass to upset the atmosphere! read more

Went today for breakfast. I have been to the one in Rockville many times and this one comes pretty close to the same experience. I like how the leave a carafe of coffee on the table and an ample amount of water. We got a tri-athlete, crepeggs and blueberry pancakes. Everything was very good, not greasy, and not over salted. Staff was very friendly, and on point with service. We did not have any issues that previous reviewers had. We went today (Saturday at around 9AM). read more

Great food. Recommend the avocado toast to split between two people as it isn't filling by itself. Been there twice and haven't been disappointed with the food. The service wasn't great, a little slow, which is why I gave only 4 stars. read more

Out of bacon on Sunday morning?! Service was terrible. Food disappointing - and a chicken bone in my salad. Won't go back!

Love the breakfast food at this place. Service has always been great too. You may have to wait at certain times of the day because they get busy. read more

Have yet to have a bad meal here - we frequent this place often for brunch. Great kids menu, and healthy options. Delicious light eggs Benedict and market pan hash. My husband loves the Chimichanga. Service good and food great. read more

My wife and I love First Watch for breakfast or brunch! The food is good quality and always fresh. I do wish they stayed open later.

We went back and had a completely different experience. We went on a Saturday morning and it was busy but we didnt have to wait too long. Service was really fast and the food was fresh and tasty. I loved the avocado toast so much. There was so much avocado on very hearty multigrain bread. I will definitely go back for that. My husband got an omelet and it was pretty good. We had to ask for cleaner glasses but the overall experience was good. We will be back for more avocado toast! read more

Let me start by saying I'm so so glad I took a chance and walked in! I never knew what FW was until I walked inside its glorious doors. I've lived in the area for about 8 years and never knew of this place, actually I thought it was some sort of bank from the outside. Every time I dine in, I'm always greeted from the lovely staff. I mean I can't begin to tell you how great they are! I've even become friends with some of them! Food: one word. AMAZING! I'm pretty picky with food but they have everything I've ever wanted!! Also, the iced coffee is phenomenal! If you're anything like me and like your food fresh and natural, please go there! Also sign up for their email! Well worth it! It's also a plus that the food is very instagram worthy haha (: read more

Great customer service by Kayla. I was sat at the Community table but she made it feel like I was at a table of my own. Her recommendation of the shrimp and grits was perfect. I'll be back. read more

Came here for the first time today. Not bad but not great either. I had the "works" omelette and a plain pancake. The omelette itself was ok at best and so was the pancake. The sizes are generous on everything so that's a good thing. Overall, it was just "ok". read more

tried first watch in gburg for the first time (total fan of rockville location) and im not sure if they were short staffed, but we waited an hour for our food. our waiter didnt check on us to see if we wanted refills for our drinks or to let us know that our food would take a bit. finally our food came, my chimichanga was cold. disappointed in the service and food at this location. *** update i finally was able come back to first watch to try it out again after what had happened with my first review and i still wasn't impressed. when asking questions about the menu, it was fine, but there were specials on the chalkboard and i asked the waiter what is in the first dish and he responds back "oh i can't read that far, im not sure anymore. i used to know, but everyone tells me they like it." i was kind of in shock that he didn't know the specials and what was in it. but i like to try new things so i agreed since 'everyone liked it.' i got the pot roast? (we sat far away from the chalk board so i can't remember the name of it). my fault for not asking him to check whats in it.. it was okay. was warm (not hot). it was filled with tons of potato chunk . ill just stick with what i know from the menu. i think its safe to say that i would rather go to the rockville location than gaithersburg. read more

We called in advance to try to make reservations for a group of 10. We were told that they didn't take reservations, so we tried using the app and Yelp as suggested. Both only allowed a fewer number of guests than we had and we were told to call to make a reservation. A few of us arrived at 9:30 knowing the bulk of the group would not arrive until 10:00. We were told it would be a 35-40 minute wait which seemed to be perfect. We were seated at 10:45--an hour and 15 minute wait. Food was great and service was on point. We waited to be seated longer than it took for our food to arrive and for us to be out the door. Disappointing experience given the staff made minimal efforts to strategically sit other guests so we could be seated in a timely manner. read more

I had a wonderful experience at First Watch on Muddy Branch. I was excited about having my daughter's baby shower there... But with such a large crowd (20 people)...I was a bit nervous. The manager assured me that he would make it work. They did a wonderful job. Food came out quickly, coffee was delicious and hot. Speciality juice drinks were very good. We all had a marvelous time. We were not rushed out. They even helped me clean up our trash after the party. The food was excellent too!!! We will be back and so will all of my guests at the party. It was a great day!!!! Thank you First Watch!!! :) read more

Tried the biscuits with sausage sauce. It was delicious. Biscuits were nice & fluffy. My husband had the pick two. Salad & 1/2 salad.

First time visiting this place, went in on a Monday morning around 8am. It took about 5 minutes to get seated, the host wasn't very friendly. She looked at us, grabbed menus, put them down at our table and walked away without saying a word. Could have been having a bad day so not too worried about it. The place was FREEZING. Now it is summer time but there were people, at least 3, who went out to their cars to bring in jackets and sweaters because it was so cold, myself included. That being said, that got us to order hot chocolates. Our waiter Jaime was super friendly. She came to the table, greeted us, asked if wanted coffee and took our orders. My boyfriend and I asked for a hot chocolate to share and she literally split the hot chocolate for us to share which was super nice. My boyfriend got the farmhouse hash and it was pretty tasty, I got a giant chocolate chip pancake, only got through half because it was as big as the plate, yummy though. Overall this place was pretty good. Hopefully it's not always that cold in that place! read more

I really wish this establishment would do better with picking up the phone for people who want to place an order instead of waiting at the restaurant. I constantly have issues when calling in. Last time I just went in to make the order and waited. While I waited I gave them a call just to see if they would pick up and the woman standing right by the phone did not answer the phone. She wasn't seating anyone, she wasn't busy... just stood there. I understand that it's busy on weekends, but they need to do better with phone orders- or create an online order system. We love the food and often come on weekends to sit at the community table because there's always a long wait and service is slow. Please, please fix the phone service! read more

We have been here so many times, and have love/hate relationship with this place. I love the brunch here, and service was good for the most of time. But the last two visits we don't have too much good experience, my frittata was kinda of burned, they didn't tell me to charge extra when I substitute side of bread with greens. And service was bad. Bathroom was disgusting. Maybe because weekend was too busy, and they messed it up during peak hours. My suggestion is to avoid the weekend if possible, and you'll get much better food and service during weekdays. read more

I was dissappointed in the front of house at First Watch. I have been to several sister restaurants and have loved the food. Unfortunatley the Hostess they have chosen is pretty angry. I placed my name and waited with my 6 year old daughter outside. Intially they said it would be 30-40 min. After 40 minutes I inquired about how long it would be and she accused me of trying to cut the line. She then said" I can't make people eat any faster!". So we then waited for another 20 min- they asked us to wait outside, and not nicely. After 20 min we came inside and waited in front of the hostess booth, where she refused to make eye contact. I looked around and saw several tables open and unseated. I finally flagged someone down to ask them and they said it was not their job to seat people. After a 70 min wait, I insisted on being seated at a table that had be open and clean for 15 min. When your front of house treats you like a nuisance and and the enemy it ruins your experience and meal. It is unfortunate for the hard workers in the back of the house. It just takes a smile and" I'm sorry about the wait. Your time is valuable and thank you for your patience." Customer sevice 101. Hostess , you have one job and your are not doing it well read more

Solid breakfast/brunch food spot. Everything I've ordered over the years has been great and the price isn't bad. Good atmosphere and always friendly service. They don't serve alcohol so if you want a mimosa you gotta look elsewhere. read more

First - WOW! I haven't been to any other restaurant that can compare to this restaurant for the combination of taste, creativity, quality and healthy ingredients. Their staff is also always friendly and helpful - they must eat the food there. Second - Someone from my party had a problem with their order and the manager on duty really handled the problem with expertise. I was really impressed with him. A big Kudos goes out to this restaurant and the chain. I'm such a fan, I've been to their other restaurants in multiple cities and in different states. read more

Our server was rob. We waited about 30-35 minutes but it was worth it. It even took a little while for the food to come out but everything was hot and fresh and delicious. I ordered the Floridian French toast. It was the perfect portion where I was satisfied and not over stuffed. Rob was incredibly friendly and he made sure our orders were right and prompt. I will definitely recommend this location but suggest to have a reservation. Limited seating in the waiting area. read more

First Watch is definitely one of my favorite brunch/lunch places. I like the one in Gaithersburg better than the one in Rockville, which feels too sterile to me. The one up in Gburg is a lot cozier. However, I feel as if the one in Rockville is usually more efficient. The food is solid, fresh and made to order. It's more expensive than IHOP or similar family brunch places, but the food is much higher quality and definitely more creative. Right now they have a carrot-orange-ginger juice that is awesome (though kind of pricey). Service is friendly and cordial, though not always efficient here. I've been with friends who have gotten fairly impatient and felt the need to hunt down the staff, but I've never felt that poorly about it. It depends on when you go. If you hit it early (especially on the weekends), you're usually good. After 9 though, the place just fills up. The one big gripe I have is that they charge for coffee per person, so when I go with just one friend they bring out one pot. If I go alone, it's also one pot. they leave the pot on the table, so it's the same amount either way. It'd be better just to charge by the pot, dontcha think? read more

I've come to this location a few times and always we have good service. This particular time, it's rather disappointing on managements part for not planning ahead. It's unheard of to have a breakfast place run out of potatoes and the seasoning used for the million dollar bacon. The big catch is that there is a giant next door and no one has the great idea to go get some. I expect more as a Floridian from a Florida restaurant. read more

When we first walked in it seemed promising with the nice and cozy decor and complimentary coffee. Given the chains reputation for fast service we were disappointed when I food took over 20 min to arrive. Even more annoying was the fact that other people who had sat down long after us were given their food before. As for the food itself we were very underwhelmed. The eggs tasted like they were microwaved and were barely warm. My pancakes were definitely undercooked as well. Seriously doubt we will ever come back. read more

One of, if not my favorite brunch spot in the burg. Seriously delicious and fresh food with so many different options. The drinks they serve are yummy, fresh and also unique. The service is also outstanding with such warm and welcoming staff. I try to go here a couple times a month. The food takes a while to come out, but honestly who cares because it is so worth the wait. Make sure to try the avocado toast. SO GOOD! I hope it stays consistent because I love this place! read more

I love first watch and have recommended it to so many people in the past. This was my first time coming to this particular location and it was so lacking in quality and service. We waited an excessive amount of time for our food to come out and it was flavorless and cold. The eggs were not only cold but incorrectly done and the hollandaise sauce had no flavor in it. I think Firstwatch as a whole is amazing but I do not recommend going to this specific location. read more

Went for brunch today (long wait although that was to be expected on a holiday). They should consider taking reservations as there isn't anywhere nice to walk around in the area while waiting. The fresh squeezed juices were a nice treat. Many places boast "fresh" juice that tends to turn out to be too sugary, but these were perfectly refreshing. The breakfast scramble was a nice balance of eggs, spinach, and ham atop a piece of multigrain toast with potatoes and a fruit cup. I added avocado to my eggs because I saw them on other options and thought they would add nicely to the scramble (they did). It was just the right amount of food and was perfectly cooked! My boyfriend had the Italian Bennedict special which had the eggs scrambled rather then poached atop toasted ciabatta with a deliciously salty slice of prosciutto laid across it along with a a spinach salad. The saltiness of the meat paired amazingly well with the egg and spinach, I definitely recommend trying it. A very affordable brunch considering we both had juice, coffee, and that we added onto our orders. There aren't a lot of great brunch options in the area so I couldn't be happier to find First Watch. read more

I love this place. The food is always delicious and healthy, with never ending coffee (my morning must have). I got the pumpkin pancake, which tasted just like a slice of pumpkin pie, just not as sweet (which is how I like it). I also had the Acapulco express, which was a great mix of my two favorite things: breakfast and tex-mex. The avocado and chorizo really complimented one another, and the fresh salsa gave it a nice and refreshing taste. I've been here about 4 times now for breakfast and I love that it makes me feel energized and awake afterwards. read more

Went on Memorial Day around 1230, 3 or 4 other parties ahead- went to use the ladies room and noticed 4 or 5 tables needed to bussed ... waited maybe 20 minutes for a table.. server took our order pretty quickly but then waited another 20 minutes for the food; again noticed many tables needed to be bussed - they seemed to take forever to clean a table, carrying two plates at a time; why not get a cart ? Cleaning tables faster means more customers ... then the crepe was burned, had asked for water when the server tood drink orders; water didn't cone until we asked again .... the food was ok ... the one in Rockville needs to teach this location. read more

Ok so I have to give this spot 3-stars because it's ok, not amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating but that's not grounds for a 4 or 5-star rating. My coffee was about as good as IHOP's and I wasn't impressed with the Coffee Delights option especially since this place boasts about locally grown ingredients. I ordered the pumpkin pancake breakfast, eager to try a taste of Fall this Labor Day weekend but was less than dazzled by the pumpkin pancake. It was OK... Where's the taste of all spice? No nutmeg, cinnamon, clove hints... Just a bit of pumpkin. I think I do a better job with my homemade pumpkin waffles. My eggs were pretty good (but they were just eggs not hard to mess up). The chicken-apple sausage tasted more like maple sausage... Way too sweet for my palate.... Meh. The kale tonic drink was refreshing, a tad on the sweet side but good nonetheless. First Watch should take a Second Look at their ingredients and align them to their company's mission. read more
