Love the new menu! Great variety and the brioche French toast is delicious! The challenge is that at 1 pm, I expected a better quality. the bacon was clearly made early this morning and when it showed up on our plate it was dry and burned. they actually delivered a black piece of bacon. my over easy eggs were actually over hard and i would have said sonething but our server disappeared (maybe too many tables in her section. incredibly disappointing. we will give it another try and hope that it is better next time. We were hungry and afraid to send it back. read more

First Watch - Bacon not good! - Cafes Near Me - Gaithersburg, Maryland

Mixed reviews. This location is a fave for grabbing breakfast. Good food, always friendly staff. My concerns simply are around the wait and seating availability. For weekend brunch, there's always a wait as expected here in Montgomery County, and they combat it nicely by using the NoWait app. It's the seating that is the big concern. There simply isn't enough of it. The seating layout is haphazard and sorely underutilizes the space. This location could easily seat 20-30 more patrons if the space were professionally redesigned. read more

My favorite brunch place in the area. Great service, lots of healthy options (and really great "not so healthy" options), fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. For breakfast I go with the elevated egg sandwich and a morning meditation. For lunch, the two for you deal with the ham and gruyere melt with the tomato basil soup. A pairing made in heaven for a great price. Service may be slower on the weekend but it's understandable with that much clientele. I'd advise getting on the online waitlist for weekends. I personally prefer going during the week. Servers are kind and attentive. Always a great time at this location. read more

Always a wait no matter what day of the week you go. Service was attentive and sarah was our waitress. She recommended some great breakfast choices. Very loud for a breakfast place though... read more

The avocado toast is a hipsters dream and the millionaire bacon makes my mouth water thinking about it! I've always had excellent service

Edmond was our waiter and he was the bomb-diggity!!! Ask for him every time and you won't be disappointed. Homie stays on top of things and doesn't settle for anything less than egg-celent service. I will be coming back just to hang with my manz Edmond. You go glen coco! He makes the restaurant!!! Give that manz a raise!!! read more

Service, location, quality of food, and price was amazing! I believe I'm a loyal customer now. I would recommend coming here!

If you are looking for a great place for breakfast this is it! The juices are amazing, the food is amazing and the price point is decent. Edmund, our server, was helpful, efficient and cheerful and overall made the experience really pleasant! read more

I will never come back here. After last time I decided to give this place another try but the service was just horrible. We had a table of 4 and the server took our order after 20 minutes. Then two people got their orders first. After 10 minutes and still no order for the other two the server comes to tell us that the wait is due to the eggs sliding off the plate and them having to make me another one. She said nothing about the fourth persons order. So we waited. Finally I get my order but the first two are just about done. Finally the food came for the fourth guy and it was disgusting. Soggy bread for the Benedict. The fourth guy waited close to an hour for his food!!! The only good thing was the removed it from the tab but we will never come back to this place. The whole point of coming out together for breakfast is so no one has to cook and so we can eat together. This was horrible service. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is solely because their avocado toast, skillet potatoes, and bread/jelly is good. read more

Great food every time! loved the freshness of the food. Got the elevated egg sandwich and would definitely get it again. Awesome service from Edmund! Can't wait to go back!! read more

If the food wasn't so amazing, I'd never go back. I think the management is really unorganized and uninvolved because the blame can't be fully placed on the servers. There's no point in calling in a take out order because no one will answers the phone. Today I called three times and let it ring for a total of 20 min before arriving at the gaithersburg location, to see in person they weren't answering the phone. Then I placed my order in person, waited 15 min, for it to be missing one item, to wait longer for the missing item. ALL OF THIS is not a commentary on the food. IT IS REALLY FREAKING GOOD. FRESH AND WHOLE INGREDIENTS. In total I was there for 30 min today waiting for take out. Just hoping an owner or manager will get more involved in the day to day operations and fix some of the logistical issues that keep this place from getting 5 stars. I'd give 5 stars just for the taste and freshness of food. read more

This is my third time here, I didn't review the first 2 times bz they had awful slow service and I just thought maybe they r having bad day but Come on, I sat 20 min and walked to find a waiter, after getting order it took ages for food to come out! read more

They're only open for breakfast/brunch. They have the best breakfast in town!! Everything is all natural and very healthy. The food is just simply divine. The restaurant is always packed. I definitely recommend getting their app too, you can get in line for a table with the app. It saves you time when you actually arrive at first watch. read more

I've heard great things in the past months about this place, so I finally decided to make my way over on a recent Saturday morning. I was extremely disappointed. The only reason I am giving two stars is because our service wasn't horrible, though our waitress was not the one helping us most of the time. I arrive with my partner and the wait is 45 minutes, understandably. Very accurate. We sit down and our table wasn't seen by a server for at least 10 minutes. Then another 10 minutes for our drinks, while watching her bring drinks to tables that has sat after us! Eventually, I flagged a hostess down and she kindly grabbed our beverages. We ordered, and after 35 minutes of waiting for food, no visits from our server (other wait staff came), we received our orders... incorrectly. At this point, I asked to speak to a manager. That never happened. After another 10 minutes, and no manager coming by, our order finally came out correctly, but cold. Prices are fair, food looks tasty, but we did not get that experience, seemingly due to poor management. Everyone seems to be scrambling around. Yelling from where the servers are. Bathrooms that don't work. I don't know what's going on in this place, but it seems to need a change of something. Like I said earlier, I'd give it one star if not for the hostesses, Cecile and Krystal being so generous and empathetic at the end of our our transaction, as well as Edmund and Paula being so helpful throughout our "ordeal". I DO NOT recommend this place on a busy day. read more

The food was terrible. Customer service was awful. I walked out the restaurant without paying b/c the cashier I had forgot to charge me. Wth?? Who forgets to charge someone ??? I don't think I'll be coming back there read more

We went on Mother's Day with a party of 5, so I knew there would be a wait. They told us 45 mins, but that they would take my phone number as call us. 1 hour later, we went back in to see how much longer it would be and they said that they had tried to call us (there was no missed call logged). That's ok , we were then seated immediately. The waitress was friendly, if a little rushed, no problem there, it was totally understandable. Then we waited for our food. For TWO HOURS! Tables that were seated before ours didn't receive their food for an hour and a half after we were seated, so it wasn't just us. The restaurant was extremely warm and we came with 3 hungry children so that long of a wait for the food was pretty painful. When the food came, one of our party's food was not included and since they dropped it off without a word, we didn't get a chance to ask where his food was. 5 minutes later, someone came around and saw my eggs benedict and said "Phew, there it is, we thought we'd lost it!" and walked off. The problem was, that was the same (missing dish) my boyfriend ordered. We finally managed to flag him back down and explain that there WAS a missing eggs benedict and he said that he would look into it. Our waitress came back around and ask how everything was (10 mins after the food was dropped off) and we told her about the missing dish too. Finally, they figured out that it hadn't been made and our waitress assured us that it would be out promptly "since we're getting ready to close". Great. The food was ok. The best thing was the crispy bacon, but it really wasn't worth $90 for 5 people. The service assured that we would never be back. If service of this caliber was an unusual occurrence, I would've expected the manager to be walking around apologizing for the wait and generally trying to placate the hungry masses, but we never saw anyone like that, so I'm guessing that this was the standard treatment guest can expect there. I'll pass, thanks. read more

Just had the best experience at First Watch. Celebrated a few birthdays, we had s large party. Chris the mgr went out of his way to get us a table to seat super fast. We lucked out and had s great server, Amanda. She was super efficient and our food came out quick. Amanda hit the order for so many people 100 percent current! Great experience, can't wait to go back. read more

My wife and her pals love the Rockville First Watch so she and one of her BFF's took me to the G'burg one for Father's day. My order off the specials, toast with avocado mash and 2 eggs sunny side up was fine, 4 stars. However, my wife's order of Market Hash to quote the menu " Two eggs* any style atop a hash of fresh, seasoned potatoes, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, zucchini, onions and red peppers with spinach, melted mozzarella and herbed goat cheese" was mostly potatoes and you would have to do a DNA analysis on the few flecks of green to determine if it was zucchini or spinach. In short, seriously short of vegetables other than the spud cubes. She ended up trading most of her spuds with me for part of my toast and avocado mash. read more

Delicious but very busy on weekend mornings I highly recommend calling your food in to go so you do not have to wait for a table. As it is a small restaurant. As a vegetarian, I appreciate the amount of options I have for breakfast at this location read more

Heard that this place was very good from a "health conscious" friend so wanted to give it a try. Arrived at 9 AM on a Saturday and was surprised to get a table right away. It was very busy, many young families, fun to watch! Ordered the Day Glow which is a carrot, ginger, etc ... drink (freshly made). Tasted very refreshing! Ordered some coffee and the Tri-athlete omelette - made with egg whites and veggies. The coffee came with a thermos of coffee (for refills). The omelette was very tasty and healthful way to start the day. Overall, very pleased with the service, ambiance, and quality. Will definitely be back! read more

The food is good, if you can put in an order. The service has been hit or miss recently. Today I walked in and was seated immediately. but 10 minutes later, no server had been to my table, so I left. As half the tables were empty, it's not because they were being overrun. read more

While the food at first watch is good. The service is consistently sub par. We came into the first watch in Gaithersburg and there were three empty booths and one empty table. Yet, they had a significant back up, unable to seat anyone because, and I quote "We are short a Buser". I don't think it ever occur to the lady at the front that she could actually bus tables. She actually said "There is nothing I can do". First watch needs to train their waitstaff to go beyond the bounds of Their jobs and really look at the customer experience. It's so sad that with three hungry boys we had to wait 20 minutes longer than we should have to sit down and order our food. read more

We love this place and not just because ti is walking distance from our house. Kids adore the chocolate kids pancakes. And I believe I tried most things on the menu now and was never disappointed. Avocado toast, eggs benedict, breakfast tacos all done to perfection. read more

My favorite local breakfast restaurant. Service is usually good, but I think the tone is the real highlight to me. I enjoy how friendly and genuine all the servers are. My girlfriend and I absolutely love First Watch!Hands down this is the best breakfast spot in town. I love the Sunrise Breakfast Bowl and my girlfriend loves the Traditional breakfast! Just after our second visit in his section he remembered our drink order (ice coffee is a must)! read more

Seems like a great repeat place but my customer service experience wasn't really nice. The wait was 30-40 minutes with no place to sit and REALLY cold. Since they took our number I told one hostess that we were going to Starbucks and she said ok and we have your number. Soon as I go the text 40 min later we walked over. The one hostess was just very flippant and said oh you didn't come when I called so didn't we didn't wait. I understand the pressure of a long line and getting ppl seated but he wanted to explain his side and not hear me as a customer. I wasn't upset that he moved on I was upset they he made it seem like it was our fault that we weren't there when he called our name. The commitment to wait 45 minutes and be talked to as an annoyance was not appreciated. I let it go but when he started another conversation in front of me with a coworker about all these people not being there when there name was called ...I couldn't hold it anymore and let him know that I had told somewhere where we were going and don't offer texting if you can't manage it. He just didn't want to hear my side and really argued and walked a way. WHAT! I just waited and about to spend my money. The female hostess and other male hostess apologized and understood. That's all I wanted was to be understood as a waiting paying customer. I didn't need your explanation or attitude. Not my first choice again read more

Eh, maybe 3.5 stars. The food there is good, and there is a nice selection of items, including seasonal ones. I had the Elevated Breakfast sandwich, decent portion, good flavor. My two friends had the Chikichanga and the Breakfast Biscuit. They were both pleased with their entrees. I think where this place loses stars is the service. We got on the waitlist through the Yelp app and arrived by the time indicated for check in. The estimated wait time was 20-35 mins from the time we got on the list. Once we arrived (about 20 minutes into the wait), we were told it was going to be another 20 mins or so. Ok, no big deal, 5 minutes longer than the estimated wait time. Well, it was another 35 mins or so before we were finally sat, so in total over an hour from the time we put our names in and being sat. I don't have an issues with waiting, but I have an issue with majorly misquoting the wait time. As far as service while we were eating, our server was nice enough, but seemed overwhelmed or maybe was just on the slower side. There were large gaps of time in between her visits to the table and she never came back after dropping off the food to check if we needed anything else. Perhaps it was an off day, so we shall see if I decide to try again if I am up in that area again. read more

We live in a nearby neighborhood and had been to other First Watch restaurants and were so excited to have a great family restaurant opening up nearby. Sadly, after 10-12 visits all of which have been filled with total service blunders our New Years resolution is to stay away. Here are examples of the blunders that have occurred on each and every visit: Simple meals -- everyone at the table orders pancakes -- take 25-30 minutes for service Orders are wrong-- totally wrong In a party of four three meals are served 5-10 minutes ahead of the others (and no, we're not talking about kids meals we asked to be brought when ready) Orders served cold In one case a meal - pre-made oatmeal and an english muffin --was never served. They packed it to go after one person never ate and when we got home the order was still wrong! Portions of orders -- like a side of toast-- are never delivered and the server disappears. These kinks should have been worked out long ago. It is really quite sad that they cannot seem to get it right! read more

This is a great place for lunch and breakfast. Beware there's usually a a fairly large line on the weekends. There's lots of extremely reasonably priced breakfast and lunch meals to choose from. Service always is decent and the food is always excellent. Parking can sometimes be tough in that part of the mall. The best way to describe this place is it's kind of like a higher-end more trendy Diner. read more

Good food, but pretty poor service by our waitress Angela-she was probably near the end of a shift or something but clearly couldn't care less. We probably won't bother going back to this place. I truly dislike giving negative reviews, but we were so disappointed by our experience here. It was a Sunday morning, and the wait was around 25-30 minutes for a table for two. Not unexpected for brunch time. However, after we were seated, we waited 15 minutes for a waiter to appear, another 10 minutes for our water and coffee, and after we ordered our food, it was another 45 minutes before we got our food (Eggs Benedict and a breakfast burrito)...and it was UNDERCOOKED and COLD. Ugh! I understand poached eggs are supposed to be runny, but that should apply mainly to the yolk, not the whites (the white were still opaque). Plus, neither of our dishes tasted that great overall...but it could have been because we were over this place by that point. I was SO upset by everything we had endured (that's how it felt) that we complained to a passing waitress (we didn't see our initial waitress again because her shift had ended). We got the Eggs Benedict taken off our bill, but we still felt like the whole meal and experience was a waste of money. read more

I've tried First Watch several times and I really want to like it, but every time I go I remember that I really don't like it. The service is very slow. This morning it took a full 10 minutes to be greeted once I sat down and I had to ask someone for a waiter. The food took another 20 minutes. The omelet was almost inedible. I had to then flag down my bill. When I asked at that register whether they had a "comment card", I was told I could go to YELP. read more

Waited 45 minutes for a table after being told a 20-30 minute wait. The staff was not friendly. Our waiter mumbled. My food came out cold. I sent it back. When it came out, it was warm not hot. That tells me that the food waited to be brought to the table. read more
