Fast friendly service. I was on a bit of a time crunch, and the order and receiving the food was very quick. Ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs and potatoes. They gave me 4 biscuits, way too much, gravy was very good, but your can tell a big difference between turkey and real pork sausage - wish you had an option. This place is totally a hit or miss...I had crab eggs Benedict and was so disappointed. On the other hand my husband had the avocado toast and millionaires bacon which was amazing. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing but the horseradish sauce tasted like it was out of a can and so did the crab meat. We unfortunately had the perfect storm of errors while visiting this restaurant. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful while we made our selection. We had plenty of time before catching a ride to the airport, but 45 minutes later it was discovered that the ticket had never made it to the kitchen. My husband and stopped in looking for breakfast and WOW we were very pleased with the meal that was served. I had one egg, waffle, and sausage. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. KACHOW! What's up, my friends! It is I, Lightning McQueen, back with another review. This time, I'll be telling you about First Watch in Florence. Let me tell you: the service at this restaurant is subpar at BEST. The server always takes at least 10-15 minutes to take your drink order after you sit down, the servers are absent for long periods of time, and the simplest requests often take a ridiculously long time to fulfill. My experience this time, unfortunately, met these low expectations. When she filled our coffee cups, she only filled them halfway. We discovered she did this because the pot of coffee was nearly empty! The fact that she did this means she knew that the coffee pot was almost empty, and instead of bringing us a fresh pot, left us with the empty one. One of my companions and I both asked for water. No problem, right? WRONG! She did not bring us our water. We waited 20 minutes for our water, and when we asked her AGAIN she acted like it was the first time we asked. I don't think it was necessarily her fault, though. First Watch seems to get increasingly inefficient as they get busier. It was busy when we dined. I will say, the food is always good and made just how I like it. No one in my party had any complaints. Maybe it's just because I'm so used to the speed we go when racing for the Piston Cup, but I wish the service was better! The food was tasty, but not tasty enough to make up for the service. This is apparently a local chain with several locations. The food is locally grown. The menu is extensive with breakfast and lunch items. There is also a seasonal menu with special items. I ordered the smoked salmon cucumber toast from the summer menu at the recommendation of the waitress. The toast was perfectly toasted and came with two cage free basted eggs. While smoked salmon with capers and cream cheese is quite common of a combination, I enjoyed the cucumbers that added a freshness to the toast. My friend ordered the oatmeal which came with a cranberry sugar muffin. She enjoyed the sugary texture mixed with the cranberry taste. Her fiance ordered the blueberry pancakes short stack with a side of beacons. The pancakes were fluffy with lots of blueberries. The maple syrup was warmed in a glass jar which was nice but a bit hard to handle. When you are leaving, you can choose to take your coffee to go and they put it in a to go cup for you. Very poor and slow service. We used the app to get in the wait line. Showed up 15 mins before suggested seating time. Waited additional 45 mins when we saw people walking in and being seated, my wife asked how much longer. She was told five parties ahead of us. Another 15 mins and more people seated ahead of us we asked again. Another five parties ahead of us again. We decided to leave after waiting one hour and fifteen minutes. This isn't the first time we've encountered such poor and slow service. I travel all over the southeast and have never experienced such slow service at any other First Watch as we have at this one. This morning my 92 year old father and I went to First Watch in Florence for breakfast. The handicap parking space was quite snowy and I was concerned about him falling. I mentioned this to one of the servers and she told me that the landlord sends someone to clean it and First Watch did not have a shovel. Before we finished our meal, Adam, the manager came over the find out which car was mine. He had purchased a shovel and Zach was shoveling the area! Thank you First Watch--it was truly appreciated. I love this place when I need some delicious coffee, fluffy pancakes, feeling super healthy and want a quinoa bowl, or feeling super indulgent and want a cinnamon roll waffle. I got to first watch in florence at 12 :30. There were at least 10 tables open and clean. I was told there would be a 35 min wait. I went outside and waited as I watched at least 10 parties come in and leave due to the wait. Then I saw a part of 7 go right in and get seated after I had waited 35 minutes. I finally got called in to be seated and waited 5 minutes exactly, just to find out who my server was and of course by then who wouldn't know what they wanted to eat. So I order, 15 minutes later I received my food. It is a good thing the food is great otherwise they would not have my future business. I think I will stick to takeout with this location tho.
