Mentally, I've always loaded First Watch into the same dull bucket as Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel, a place to get breakfast when you're on the road and have few other options. Not so anymore. A refreshing menu at the intersection of American traditional breakfast and hipster chic, with better coffee than you'd expect from a chain. Service was prompt and discreet, about all I can ask from them considering how busy they were for brunch. Despite the crowd (and full parking lot), there wasn't a wait for a table, and the dining room rarely rose above a soft din. Overall, surprisingly good for a stop to or from CVG in the mid-morning. read more

I am usually a fan of this chain but this location in Florence was really not a good representation. The design of the restaurant is just all wrong - Every First Watch I've ever been in has been very busy - always packed. So it's a mistake to make this one a large, open concrete like place - feels like a gym. It was cacophonous. I ordered the Frittata Rustica - eggs are usually so reliable at any First Watch. but this was terrible. The frittata was so overcooked that it looked more like a pancake. Overcooked kale and mushrooms did nothing to improve the really unpleasant taste of burnt eggs. Just bad. I only had a few bites. It tasted like something I would cook and that is not praise. My mother two pancakes - very large and served with nice warm syrup but just a small piece of butter for such large thirsty pancakes. She wanted more butter but after taking our order, we only saw our server once - when she dropped a check on the table without even asking how our meal was. If this was the only exposure one had to First Watch, I can understand why you might never go back... this is the worst location I've visited. They're usually much better. read more

We found this place on Yelp visiting from California. The food was good and the kale juice was delicious. We ate a lot of food the night prior and the kale juice did exactly what we needed it to do. Lemon ricotta pancake was yummy and the bacon was wonderful. Fresh orange juice was nice, and the omelette with sausage and peppers was great. The biscuits and gravy looked nice (at the next table) and the fresh fruit bowl and homemade tasting jam for the toast were surprisingly good. Everything seemed clean and efficient. Better than the big chain restaurants, and a little more expensive ($40 plus trip for breakfast for two). All in all it was a good stop and I would do it again. read more

This seems to be a favorite place for breakfast and we cannot disagree! We've been her a few times now, and the service has always been friendly and efficient. One server remembered us the last time we were there, and even though she wasn't our server that day she told us that seeing us there again made her day... how sweet! The food is fantastic and I typically end up with the classic breakfast because it gives me a little of everything. Hubby and I often order a pancake to share, and they're a pretty good size. Took my sister after picking her up from the airport and we were happy with our choice. I started with a summery beverage of pineapple watermelon Fiji apple and mint. It was perfect for a hot morning. Then came the avocado toast with two over easy eggs. My favorite breakfast of all time. Not the best first watch location I've been to, but it still has the feel that a first watch should. Good food with quality ingredients. Unfortunately, my mint hot chocolate coffee thing tasted like hand sanitizer, so I requested a regular iced coffee instead. That also tasted like hand sanitizer. This is a place in downtown Florence that seems to specialize in breakfast and healthy type of stuff. The restaurant looks pretty cool and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I have it at 3 stars because it really is a niche restaurant. It's not a place suited for everybody because it really is a menu of natural and healthy options. If you bring a person looking for a hearty breakfast and doesn't care about counting calories then they will probably be disappointed. In any event here's my food... Chiki-Changa What Is It: Whipped eggs with spicy, all natural chicken breast, chorizo, avocado, onions, green chile's, cheddar, and Monterey jack cheeses. It's topped with a Vera Cruz sauce and all natural sour cream. Fruit and homestyle fry style potatoes were also included in the meal. I left off the onions. Presentation. Top notch plating here as it really was a beautiful dish. You can't do it any better. 10 out of 10 Taste/ Final Analysis: They really packed this thing full of tasty stuff as the chorizo, cheeses, and chile's all gave this thing proper Mexican flavour. My favourite part was the Vera Cruz sauce. It really had some delicious semi spicy flavour to it and would be delicious topping any enchilada or chimichanga. The disappointing part was they were sort of skimpy with it and the sour cream too. The fruit and potatoes were par for the course although they did flavour their potatoes exceptionally well. Delicious food. My husband and I are visiting from California and decided to stop by this place on our way to the museum. My husband had the Hawaiian French toast with the million dollar bacon, and I had the traditional breakfast. We both really enjoyed our food. This has become one of my favorite brunch places with their million dollar bacon and amazing services. The food is always delicious and I never have had a bad experience. The only thing I was sad about is that they have some items that are only seasonal and they are so good I wish they were year round lol. 10/10 recommended. We came her for breakfast. I ordered online, it was an easy process. I ordered online via yelp. Once I made my order the site will provide you the wait time. I waited at least 14 minutes which gave me plenty of time to go to Starbucks. When I went to pick up my order, the wait staff asked for my name and got my order which was waiting for me. The food was delicious and still has the perfect temperature. I ordered the market hash, I'm giving it a 4/5 for the food prep because some of the potatoes were under cooked, it seemed like the cook mixed 2 different batch because of were perfectly cooked. It's seasoned perfectly. I also asked for eggs that over medium not over easy. I just don't like undercooked eggs specially when I'm ordering out. My daughter's farmhouse order is just done right and she enjoyed it to the last crumb. I will definitely order from this place again. Location/Parking: It's located in the same shopping center as TJ Maxx and across from the Florence Mall. Parking is plentiful. Food: The concept of this breakfast eatery is farm fresh. The eggs are cage free. You'll find fresh squeezed juices and ingredients like kale and quinoa. I ordered the day glow and the key west crepe eggs. The day glow was a combination of carrots, oranges, lemon and ginger. It was a great tasting fresh juice. The key west crepe eggs consist of potatoes, English muffin and a crepe with eggs, bacon and avocado with salsa on the side. It was light tasting and good but not exactly like what I was hoping for. My husband ordered the bacon cheddar pancakes and that was amazing. I would order that pancake in a heartbeat. Price: Everything on the menu is less than $10. Very reasonable. The single pancake were around $2. The kid's menu is a steal at $5.95 and the portions are HUGE. Service: Service was exceptional! The staff was friendly, came by often to check on us and brought drinks out in a timely manner. Ambiance: Rustic feel! You can see the kitchen. There is a large chalkboard wall. The tables are made of reclaimed wood. Overall, this is a great place to have breakfast! It's a new restaurant with fresh and uncommon ingredients and dishes that are simply unique. read more
