5-star potential with a few dings which unfortunately brings it to 3.5/5. Let me start with the Pros: the food! I tried their waffle for the first time, and it was both crispy (unlike many other diners and breakfast spots), and delicious! I loved the mild cinnamon and powdered sugar. The service was good, but you could clearly differentiate the warm and friendly (which was real nice to see) to the stoic and neutral; this can be an area for improvement - synchronicity of good customer service. My main reason for the lower rating is the price. I ordered a combo which was $13.50; because I don't eat meat, I asked them to substitute it for toast instead (a lesser priced item). Although they make the substitution, they charged me ~$17 instead of the $13.50 without tell me; turning my combo into a more expensive individual sides. Over rated brunch place. The food was normal breakfast food and the portions were a bit small for the price. It's always extremely crowded in there so I wanted to give it a try and was pretty disappointed. I got the eggs Benedict which had a hair on it and got it replaced but had to wait for my food for a second time which was frustrating. My boyfriend got the omelette which was just a regular omelette with nothing special. It is pretty overpriced for normal breakfast food that could be made at home. read more

We were so excited to come to this location since we love the other ones. We joined the virtual waitlist around 11:30 and checked in in-person at around 12:10. The first hostess with long white fake nails and a pink claw clip told us we still had about 45 minutes left so we walked across to the Old Navy until we got our text. EIGHT MINUTES later, we received a text saying our table was ready and they would hold our table for TWO MINUTES. When we got there, she said that we had been kicked off the wait list and would have to wait another 30-40 minutes. When we told her it would've been impossible for us to have come back in time, she said the system showed we were notified more than 10 minutes ago but when we showed her the text we received came through less than 5 minutes ago, she had no response and redirected us to the other hostess with brown curly hair, glasses, and arm tattoos. When talking to this hostess, she cuts us off and says "the system is automatic, there's nothing I can do. Follow me to your table." and walks away while we're still standing there???? So all that attitude and bite all for us to get sat immediately? LOL. I can completely empathize if they don't like the system themselves because it's frustrating to deal with things that aren't their fault. But to have a shitty attitude towards people who YOU told to wait 45 minutes but then being notified after barely 5 minutes and then given a 2 minute grace period? Work on your attitudes, girls. You're the first workers to greet your customers and leave a lasting impression. Side note for the actual food; my poached eggs for my Eggs Benedict were basically hard boiled however the manager with the long braided ponytail did not hesitate to get it remade. She handled it with such kindness and grace. You could tell she was a person with class purely based off how she spoke to us. I have always enjoyed first watch! I've been to many locations and have never bern disappointed, I would like to make it known though it isn't an amazing brunch or breakfast place. It's quite good in my opinion, but if you are looking for top tier breakfast this isn't the place. I know it can get super busy during the weekends especially on Sundays, so I don't recommend just showing up. They have a handy wait in line option on their online website for most of their locations and you can join the line ahead of time, you do have to go to the hostess stand to get checked in but afterwards you can walk around to the local stores nearby and just roam until you get a notification to return to the restaurant. I see so many people crowd around and I'm not a huge fan, so that's usually what I do. Also, the service here is always good. I never had any issue with any servers. I like this place a lot but I know it can be a bit busy so just plan accordingly. read more

I haven't been inside another First Watch that looks like this one, or captures the essence of a quaint & cozy farmhouse - but this location does and nailed it! The white & light blue astetic, the open coffee bar right in the middle of it all, the outside & inside murals, the different lighting effects used, the service, the presentation, and last but not least THE AMAZING FOOD!!! Your girl got the French toast, million dollar $ potatoes, and a mint mocha iced coffee. All *chefs kiss* For a lone patron, one of the hostess' thought maybe I had been waiting longer than normal (I was but certainly did not mind. It is their 1st day after all.). She gave me a $20 gift card to use today or whenever! Definitely not needed but I appreciate it all the same - and used it! Super nice addition to the Promenade, and definitely healthier of an option than having a TGI Friday's. I was very excited to see the "no wait" mark on their website (since First Watch doesn't take reservations, and rely on getting in the line online), given their notorious waittimes that could easy get up to an hour. However, I clicked "get in line" to be on the safe side, and to my surprise it was 10-20 minutes. To my surprise, when we arrived at the restaurant, it was still 10-20 minutes. All this is to say: the wait in line feature doesn't seem to be accurate (at least not yet.) Benefitting from the brand new location, the setup is super nice and clean. Service was timely, but had an abrupt ending being handed over the check. Overall, nice mix of breakfast and brunch classics; good iced coffee; great option to pick 1/2 sandwich with a side salad or soup; and solid selection of breakfast sides, all at a reasonable price. read more

The lighting in this restaurant is incredibly inconsistent. They have this middle section where overhead halogen lights make you feel like you're on an operating table. They have a menu item called Millionaire Bacon, but it was a floppy, undercooked, over seasoned mess. Our server got our simple order wrong on multiple dimensions. The whole experience is like a cheap cafeteria or bad summer camp food. I think the scrambled eggs are fake eggs, though can't prove it, they tasted horrible and had a sticky texture. The toast is served without butter, just plain and dry. This location opened across the street from Silver Diner which is delicious and amazing and has a powerhouse menu, we'll keep going there. read more

They tell me my order will now be ready in 10 minutes and they'll text me immediately to let me know, so I go sit in my car because there is next-to-no room to wait inside (or out, really) of the entrance. 30 MINUTES LATER, I call in to see what the hold up is...the host (different person) told me it had been ready to go and on the pick-up shelf. This place was terrible which was such a shame because I've been wanting to try it for years. The ambiance was cute and they have a great menu, but those were the only positives. The service was terrible - the waitress never came back once our food was delivered. The caramel donut appetizer was inedible - the donuts tasted store bought and old and the apple butter tasted like sad apple sauce. The million dollar potatoes were fine - they had bacon and a "Parmesan" sauce. Not executed well and should've been warm. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes and ONE pancake came out - I was shocked. No flavor. ONE chicken sausage patty on the side. Instead of a couple scrambled eggs, I swapped in fruit and I received some sad pieces of melon, a quarter of a strawberry, and three grapes. I was shocked at how big the plate was and how small and tasteless the portion was! The prices were fair and I'm sure the ingredients are better quality (ex. cage free eggs) but I left hungry. The honey crunch iced coffee barely had any coffee - it was just whipped cream on top of ice pretty much. Will never be returning.
