Service: our waitress was very attentive Food: came for the seafood specials on Monday. 1 lb crab legs for $15.95. I think these were previously frozen hence the price. Also got 1lb steamed shrimp which was fresh and cooked perfectly with old bay seasoning. It comes with lemo wedge and warm butter. They also have tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, if you ask. Ambiance: its a regular old bar in an old fire station

What a cool pub to visit! There are potent libations, which I rarely consume these days, and a plethora of bar food at this long time establishment in old town Fairfax City. This used to be a volunteer fire station way back when, and inside the bar there are pictures of the historic place. My go to orders are the Heineken Zeros. There are food specials too, like $0.50 wings on Sundays during certain times. If you're in the GMU area, or walking around old town Fairfax Main Street and University Drive, make a stop to check it out!

Bacon cheeseburger. Very tasty. A go to for lunch.

I was in Fairfax and got hungry for a burger. Quick search and The Old Fire Station #3 came up. Ok, into the GPS. I find the place and have trouble parking. Everything has a sign on it....nothing I could find for the restaurant. I end up parking in a spot that expires at 4 pm with towing. I grab a seat at the bar and order a Tony's lager. It's 3 pm on a Monday and only a few customers are in the place. I decide on the bacon cheeseburger sans tomato. The beer is tasty and cold. I'm thinking it's a local brewery because it's really fresh. The burger comes pretty quick. I order another lager. Burger is perfectly cooked. I think it's grilled. Fresh toppings. Just what I was looking for. French fries are crispy, hot and good. They need ketchup. Quick time check, I have about 25 minutes before my car is towed. I finish the burger, the last of the fries and wash it down with the end of the beer. They have lots of notifications with events in the bar, food specials, drink specials. Definitely a place to visit with friends or family for a meal or a drink. Too bad the parking is so bad. I guess the city doesn't really care about businesses in favor of towing fees. Maybe I'll uber it next time.

Such a great neighborhood bar! I have been going here for years. I love the cozy atmosphere, and all of the staff is so friendly and gets to know you. Everything on the menu is great, but my favorite is the gyro sandwich. When you're here, you feel like family. This is a great social venue. Great for coffee and some lunch on a lazy weekend or great for groups when they have karaoke night on Tuesdays and Fridays 9pm-1am. Their sound and light system are so good! Updated the Specials, Events & Happy Hour info: Family friendly. Free parking. Bathrooms are always clean. Live music. Poker night Wednesdays and Thursdays 7-11pm. Mondays have Trivia 7-9pm, half off Seafood and wine bottle special. Happy Hour drink specials Monday-Friday from 4-7pm! One dollar beers and two dollar rail drinks on some nights!! Can't beat that! There's also an upstairs available for private groups or private events. It's so cool with a thunder and cloud-like ceiling with special effects (Harry Potter ceiling) and usually has DJ dance music upstairs on Fridays & Saturdays. I am so glad this place was revived!

I ordered the gyro and fries over the phone, service was friendly. The food was good, definitely decent for a quick bite. The only downside was the strong smell of cleaning products when I went in to pick up my order. It was a bit overwhelming, but overall the experience was good.

Allison is pure delight! I think I've found my little hide away bar. Karaoke night is hilarious and definitely a pick me up if you need it.

OFS#3 runs a Sunday blues open mic from 6-9 p.m. that is great fun. Organizers are friendly and accommodating. Everyone gets to play and the music is excellent. Everyone from novices to studio musicians play together. Lots of regulars and first-timers show up. The organizers provide a full backline -- amps, drums, PA, etc, and they bring up 4-5 people on stage at a time, based on their order on a signup list. Everyone gets to play. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and the food is good and reasonably priced. Tons of free parking on Sundays, right in the center of Old Town Fairfax. Just show up.

One of the highlights of the night was meeting the owner, Jason. We bonded over our shared Cantonese backgrounds and even got to meet his aunt, who was visiting from California and happened to be sitting next to us. It made the whole experience feel incredibly welcoming and personal. We ordered the Dynamite Roll, which was a solid choice with 8 generous pieces, and the Szechuan spicy wontons, which were juicy with just the right amount of heat. If you visit, definitely grab a seat at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and really add to the experience. We were treated to a complimentary shot of Jäger with Jason and even got to sample their Lychee Pearl cocktail because the bartender had made an extra. The cocktails really stood out. Instead of masking everything with sugary juices, they use extracts and creative techniques to build balanced drinks that complement the flavors beautifully. Jason also mentioned that their cocktail specials change every month, so we already told him we'll be back regularly to see what new creations he comes up with.

I've been here a few times and tried several different things. All average or basic. Nothing wow. I think people come here for the drinks and vibes. Which is fair. Cool ambience. As soon as we entered, General Manager Sam welcomed us like old friends. After we were seated, my wife asked if he had previously worked at The Dabney, and sure enough, that's where we recognized him from. It was great catching up as he shared what he'd been doing since then and how his dream had always been to open his own restaurant. Seeing that dream come to life made the evening feel even more special. The restaurant was busy (definitely make reservations), but we were able to enjoy cocktails while we waited for our table. My Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese olives was phenomenal and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We started with the Bison Tartare and the Ceviche. The bison tartare was leaner than traditional beef tartare, and the crispy chips added the perfect savory crunch. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and bright. For our entrées, I had the ribeye while my wife ordered the Dory. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. My wife couldn't stop talking about how buttery and delicious the fish was. To finish the evening, we ordered the 100-Year Port Flight featuring 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-year ports. Vertical tastings are such a fun way to experience how a wine evolves over time. The 40-year was absolutely outstanding, and the 20-year was another favorite. The 10-year was enjoyable but still showed its youthful character compared to the older vintages. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between upscale and relaxed. The main dining room can feel a little tight when the restaurant is full, while the bar area has a few TVs for anyone wanting to catch a game. One thoughtful touch that stood out was the women's restroom being stocked with amenities like hair ties and hair clips. We noticed they also offer a tasting menu, and after this experience, that's already on our list for our next visit. Between the outstanding hospitality, exceptional food, excellent cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, Evelyn Rose absolutely earned five stars.

Decided on this little spot in Fairfax town center after having a quick weekend day trip to DC. Really pleasantly surprised with the whole atmosphere of the place. It's a true fusion of asian bites but still a legitimate dive bar. The space is small, patrons are merry, and the whole place is an absolute vibe. I ordered some pilsner and some other lager on tap from local breweeies. Delicious. Ordered popcorn chicken, pork belly, and some 'real food' - a quick rice bowl with chicken. The fried bites were wonderfully crispy. They have good oil management and felt quite light especially with a swig of a cold lager. The rice bowl was tasty too. Construction was indeed very Taiwanese, and yet... I still felt like I'm in a dive bar complete with all its grunge. So cool They sell 4/6 packs of craft brews here too. They've got stuff all the way up from some Vermont and Maine (true craft beer land IMO)

The salmon, while the best part of the dish, still left more to be desired. It was a bit dry and I didn't think the sauce was all that flavorful. The vegetables were fine, but the mashed potatoes were simply bad? They had the texture and flavor of instant mashed potatoes, slightly liquidity while being quite bland. I just don't think this place is worth coming back to.
