Bacon cheeseburger. Very tasty. A go to for lunch.

I was in Fairfax and got hungry for a burger. Quick search and The Old Fire Station #3 came up. Ok, into the GPS. I find the place and have trouble parking. Everything has a sign on it....nothing I could find for the restaurant. I end up parking in a spot that expires at 4 pm with towing. I grab a seat at the bar and order a Tony's lager. It's 3 pm on a Monday and only a few customers are in the place. I decide on the bacon cheeseburger sans tomato. The beer is tasty and cold. I'm thinking it's a local brewery because it's really fresh. The burger comes pretty quick. I order another lager. Burger is perfectly cooked. I think it's grilled. Fresh toppings. Just what I was looking for. French fries are crispy, hot and good. They need ketchup. Quick time check, I have about 25 minutes before my car is towed. I finish the burger, the last of the fries and wash it down with the end of the beer. They have lots of notifications with events in the bar, food specials, drink specials. Definitely a place to visit with friends or family for a meal or a drink. Too bad the parking is so bad. I guess the city doesn't really care about businesses in favor of towing fees. Maybe I'll uber it next time.

Such a great neighborhood bar! I have been going here for years. I love the cozy atmosphere, and all of the staff is so friendly and gets to know you. Everything on the menu is great, but my favorite is the gyro sandwich. When you're here, you feel like family. This is a great social venue. Great for coffee and some lunch on a lazy weekend or great for groups when they have karaoke night on Tuesdays and Fridays 9pm-1am. Their sound and light system are so good! Updated the Specials, Events & Happy Hour info: Family friendly. Free parking. Bathrooms are always clean. Live music. Poker night Wednesdays and Thursdays 7-11pm. Mondays have Trivia 7-9pm, half off Seafood and wine bottle special. Happy Hour drink specials Monday-Friday from 4-7pm! One dollar beers and two dollar rail drinks on some nights!! Can't beat that! There's also an upstairs available for private groups or private events. It's so cool with a thunder and cloud-like ceiling with special effects (Harry Potter ceiling) and usually has DJ dance music upstairs on Fridays & Saturdays. I am so glad this place was revived!

I ordered the gyro and fries over the phone, service was friendly. The food was good, definitely decent for a quick bite. The only downside was the strong smell of cleaning products when I went in to pick up my order. It was a bit overwhelming, but overall the experience was good.

OFS#3 runs a Sunday blues open mic from 6-9 p.m. that is great fun. Organizers are friendly and accommodating. Everyone gets to play and the music is excellent. Everyone from novices to studio musicians play together. Lots of regulars and first-timers show up. The organizers provide a full backline -- amps, drums, PA, etc, and they bring up 4-5 people on stage at a time, based on their order on a signup list. Everyone gets to play. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and the food is good and reasonably priced. Tons of free parking on Sundays, right in the center of Old Town Fairfax. Just show up.

Allison is pure delight! I think I've found my little hide away bar. Karaoke night is hilarious and definitely a pick me up if you need it.

Good bar food but could be better. Service was great though. Ok for kids but better for couples.

I was very impressed with their extensive menu and offerings. I had the Italian cold cut sandwich, blackberry lemonade, and salted caramel brownie. The sandwich was a 10. There's an art to how to make a sandwich, how it's layered and put together, the staff here know what they are doing. It was the perfect size, and tasted amazing. The blackberry lemonade was perfect. Not many places offer a blackberry option, so that get extra points. The salted Carmel brownie was inhaled...so yea it was awesome as well . The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave me enough time to select my lunch. Thanks for the excellent experience today.

The staff are genuinely some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered at a coffee shop -- they remember your name, your order, and somehow always make you feel like the most important person in the room. The coffee? Next level. Whether you're a straight-black-espresso purist or someone who loves a beautifully crafted latte with stunning latte art, De Clue delivers every single time. The beans are clearly sourced with care, and you can taste the quality in every sip. My go-to has become their seasonal special, and I look forward to it every single visit. The space itself is absolutely charming -- perfect for catching up with a friend, grinding through some work, or just enjoying a quiet moment to yourself. It has this rare quality of feeling both lively and relaxed at the same time. De Clue Coffee isn't just a coffee shop -- it's a community. Decent amount of seating both indoor and outdoor. Staff is friendly. I tried the dac biet (combo) with extra pickled vegetables. Pickled veg was super sweet/ needs a little more vinegar or something. Their combo says it comes with jambon, Vietnamese ham, and pork roll- I don't know which of these ingredients is head cheese but it definitely had head cheese. I don't like the gelatinous texture of head cheese so I asked for them to not put that on. It also comes with the usual Vietnamese mayo/pate, as well as a drizzle of some sort of chili sauce. The sauce didn't deter from taste. The bread was super hard and not in a good way. It softened after a quick nuke in the microwave. Overall, decent, I'd come back again, but not the best banh mi.

As of this review, Banh Mi Ong Beo has been in operation for 6-ish months. And while there are many positives about this place, operational kinks need to be smoothed out. Located in the University Mall across from George Mason, BMOB (should've arranged the letters to create the "BOMB" acroynm), is in a great location. I'm here often enough to catch a flick at the movie theatre or as in this instance, I was attending a conference at GMU. After the meeting, Yelp popped up this new banh mi place to check out. The interior is decorated tastefully and creates an inviting space to hang out. Counter seating and semi-uncomfortable backless chairs line the front windows, while the rest of the shop has more traditional tables and chairs, including a cozy couch area with an electric fireplace. Colorful lanterns and Viet style artwork also adorn the walls and ceilings. As is my penchant, I ordered the Dac Biet (or combo) as this is the benchmark by which any good banh mi place is measured by. The sando was ready in about 5 min, and I wanted to enjoy it fresh at the restaurant. On first inspection, I could feel it had good weight to it and it was filled with an appropriate portion of meats and veggies. While I thought the sammich was good, my tasting notes were: * Bread - Not sure if they bake bread on premises, but it didn't taste "fresh." The exterior was crunchy (correct) but the interior was too dry. But I get it; the place is still new so they don't want to order or bake too much bread to keep food waste down. * Pickled Veggies - One of the hallmarks of a banh mi sando, are the pickled carrots and daikon radish. IMHO, these were waaay too sweet. I liked that the vinegar flavor wasn't overpowering, but tamp down on the sugar. Also, I thought the veggies weren't drained properly so the bread got soggy when it was compressed. I would suggest using less liquid when storing the veggies on the prep table. Again, as this place gets busier, I don't see this being an issue. I didn't try any of the drinks, but did notice a few GMU students wandering in to get an order of the egg coffee and cafe su da. When judging a banh mi shop, the ultimate factor for me is whether the place prevents me from having to drive to either DC Banh Mi (my preferred destination) or Eden Center where there are a plethora of options. As of now, Banh Mi Ong Beo does not meet that criteria; especially at $9-$10 a sandwhich which is on the higher price point compared to other shops. But I'll check back in a few months to see if my opinion has changed.

The best part was something that we ordered to share, the Chapli Chopped Cheese Loaded fries. It wasn't on their menu boards yet but I had seen it on their instagram and had to try it. It was delicious! I would definitely come back and get those again. Also, the gentlemen at the register are always so nice and welcoming! The Burgers (tried all 3): 10/10. The Patriot Burger with double meat tastes like a love child between a hot and fresh In-N-Out burger and a Big Mac. I just finished one and I'm still salivating. The Chopped Cheese: 7/10. They messed up a previous order of this by adding jalapeños to both sandwiches instead of just one and it was too spicy for me. The fries: 8/10. They get cold quickly, but they taste similar to fries from Burger King. They're good and they came with organic ketchup, which I appreciated.
