Excellent food and service! We had a wonderful waitress Jordan who was so attentive and friendly with a smile.

A group of 8 of us stopped in around 11 for brunch on a Tuesday. Overall, it was a good brunch spot- 5 stars for customer service and 4 stars for the food. The hostesses were very nice about our large group and let us decide between squeezing into a smaller table or waiting a few minutes for a group at a 10-top to finish; we chose the latter, but unfortunately two of the people at the 10-top remained, so the hostess very kindly asked the manager if we could move a table to make a booth work, which was great. I had a cup of coffee (which was pretty good) and the smoked salmon eggs benedict, which had a delicious hollandaise sauce on it!! The seasoned potatoes were also pretty good. They have a huge selection of both breakfast/brunch foods and regular lunch as well. My friend got the chilled pear cider off the winter menu (which I've added a picture of) and I tried it- it was pretty good! She and another friend also got the cinnamon chip pancake breakfast off the seasonal menu which they enjoyed. Others got a Florentine eggs Benedict, a hash, a sandwich/salad combo, the French toast, and the healthy turkey omelette. I think everyone enjoyed their food! Our server was also very accommodating with our large group, and made sure we had lots of water refills, our food out at the same time, etc. I think the only downside was the booth we sat in was by the window, and because there are no shades, the sun was pretty blinding for half of the group and it made it pretty warm as well. It's also worth noting that there are gender-neutral restrooms and you pay up front at the end! All in all, this was a pretty good brunch place, and the prices aren't too bad either. I can see it being busy on a weekend, though, especially since it's in a busy area, so just be aware of that! read more

Great breakfast/lunch place on OSU campus! Lines can be especially long during the school year but you can avoid lines with the app "NoWait" which holds your place on your phone and lets you know how long the wait is. The establishment and staff is very nice and service is fast! I love how fresh the food is and everything has a good portion size. I got the turkey club with Italian soup on the side and loved my meal! If you've never been, I would definitely try out First Watch as it is reasonably priced with great food. love first watch. i always get a chickichanga and my bf gets french toast and sausage. we never order anything else bc our regular is just so good. service is always super nice. i recommend coming in around 9-9:30 because after that it gets super busy. the wait times can be long and sometimes exceed what they tell u. other than that i love first watch. i tried the purple haze today and it was a nice lemonade with a bit of lavender. super yummy and great atmosphere. read more

Gosh, everyone seems to love this place, so I'm not sure what is wrong with me. But I've been here twice and both times left feeling like it was "ok" but nothing exciting. Probably why my review has taken a while to post! First time around, I had a sandwich and second time around, I had a power bowl. Both were... good... but neither was stellar. I also felt like the prices were just $1-2 too high and it rubbed on me while I ate. The space is cute (parking is hard though, unless you work nearby, like I do) and the service was ok (except, do I pay at the front? or my table? I have done both ... neither was clear). If you are wanting a (Columbus) farm-to-table, slightly more upscale eatery near OSU, give this place a shot. But don't come expecting it to be the best place you've ever been for food. read more

First Watch is a fun breakfast and lunch spot just south of OSU. I stopped by for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Their coffee is excellent; it's responsibly sourced and your table gets an entire carafe. Unfortunately the only creamer you get is the cheap tubs that are loaded with chemicals so as not to require refrigeration. They should really invest in some fresh cream. I tried the Floridian French toast. It was two thick pieces of whole grain toast with a heap of tropical fruits and a berry jam. The toast was coated with crunchy nuts to add to the texture. It was delicious and I was impressed with the quality and freshness of the fruits. Prices were fair and service was friendly and efficient. read more

Wow this place was pretty fricken good. The atmosphere was 10/10 is was lively yet not hard to get a seat which I appreciate. The service was good and the staff was accommodating as they replaced the eggs in my avocado toast with potatoes which was super nice. Kinda loud but in a fun way I would recommend this place for sure. My parents loved First Watch also and I attached photos of their food. First of all, this is the best location they could have! it is in the heart of OSU campus. I used to go to wirthintong location. There was always a very long line. This location is new and very very clean. The view on high street is amazing. They have the same good omelette. They only need to make their coffee leas watery. If you don't mind extremely long waits then this is a great spot. I ordered an avocado toast to go and waited over 30 minutes to get it- It just feels like a crazy wait for such a simple item. I also noticed people getting called for their table and the host wasn't really loud enough and some people lost their table because they couldn't hear him so the table was given to a different couple. My avocado toast was cold and soggy but I will say the taste was there and I enjoyed it. I couldn't quite tell what it was but guesses at my table ranged from vinegar, to unclean bathroom, to sewer gas. Thankfully it went away, or I went nose blind, not too sure actually. On the downside the servers seems a bit confused about which table ordered what as they brought my meal with the other table's meal in addition to forgetting the bread with my friend's salad. However, I really enjoyed my egg sandwich, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. Unfortunately upon checkout 2 out of the 4 people at my table had incorrect checks. It was really rich and good and the salmon didn't overpower the meal as a whole. The potatoes were good but really salted. I am never been disappointed to go First Watch and great service with a smile. I had The Works Omelet with Ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack; minus the sour cream with potatoes; and drank a Diet Coke with my meal. First Watch is a chain in a crowded field: breakfast and lunch restaurants that close in the afternoon. This location is brand new, has motivated staff, and has enough specials to make you look at the chalkboard and menu every time you come in. A near OSU campus location, you can get in and out if you time it properly. Take out? Yes. Eat in? Yes. Eat at one of the sidewalk tables in good weather? Yes. Be forewarned: the place has no beer or liquor license, so don't get bent out of shape if you have to forego a mimosa or breakfast cocktail. You're near a campus, for goodness sakes. Get a huge breakfast, then wander down the street to the Bier Stube, across the street to World of Beer (with weirdly late opening hours), or up the street to any number of campus watering holes. I stick to standard breakfast fare and am never disappointed. My friends get the stuff I can't pronounce and seem super satisfied, too. In a pinch, the eggs, toast, meat, potatoes at the top of the menu is gold. X-crispy bacon comes out properly. If syrup is your thing, pancakes or French toast should tide you over, but those pancakes are vast. Plan a nap accordingly. Put this place on your pre-2pm campus rotation and the food will never let you down. Caution: on street parking is tough, so try the Gateway garage, walk, or COTA bus your way here. Also, this is not a $5 breakfast. It may run a bit more, but it's worth it. Tip well and return often. read more
