Food is good but on the weekends you may have to wait up to two hours for your food. The waitlist is extensive and it takes the cooks nearly as much time as your wait to get your food out. Service is okay. Gets busy with OSU students. Bathrooms barely functional and not very clean. read more

A group of 8 of us stopped in around 11 for brunch on a Tuesday. Overall, it was a good brunch spot- 5 stars for customer service and 4 stars for the food. The hostesses were very nice about our large group and let us decide between squeezing into a smaller table or waiting a few minutes for a group at a 10-top to finish; we chose the latter, but unfortunately two of the people at the 10-top remained, so the hostess very kindly asked the manager if we could move a table to make a booth work, which was great. I had a cup of coffee (which was pretty good) and the smoked salmon eggs benedict, which had a delicious hollandaise sauce on it!! The seasoned potatoes were also pretty good. They have a huge selection of both breakfast/brunch foods and regular lunch as well. My friend got the chilled pear cider off the winter menu (which I've added a picture of) and I tried it- it was pretty good! She and another friend also got the cinnamon chip pancake breakfast off the seasonal menu which they enjoyed. Others got a Florentine eggs Benedict, a hash, a sandwich/salad combo, the French toast, and the healthy turkey omelette. I think everyone enjoyed their food! Our server was also very accommodating with our large group, and made sure we had lots of water refills, our food out at the same time, etc. I think the only downside was the booth we sat in was by the window, and because there are no shades, the sun was pretty blinding for half of the group and it made it pretty warm as well. It's also worth noting that there are gender-neutral restrooms and you pay up front at the end! All in all, this was a pretty good brunch place, and the prices aren't too bad either. I can see it being busy on a weekend, though, especially since it's in a busy area, so just be aware of that! read more

Great breakfast/lunch place on OSU campus! Lines can be especially long during the school year but you can avoid lines with the app "NoWait" which holds your place on your phone and lets you know how long the wait is. The establishment and staff is very nice and service is fast! I love how fresh the food is and everything has a good portion size. I got the turkey club with Italian soup on the side and loved my meal! If you've never been, I would definitely try out First Watch as it is reasonably priced with great food. love first watch. i always get a chickichanga and my bf gets french toast and sausage. we never order anything else bc our regular is just so good. service is always super nice. i recommend coming in around 9-9:30 because after that it gets super busy. the wait times can be long and sometimes exceed what they tell u. other than that i love first watch. i tried the purple haze today and it was a nice lemonade with a bit of lavender. super yummy and great atmosphere. read more

Gosh, everyone seems to love this place, so I'm not sure what is wrong with me. But I've been here twice and both times left feeling like it was "ok" but nothing exciting. Probably why my review has taken a while to post! First time around, I had a sandwich and second time around, I had a power bowl. Both were... good... but neither was stellar. I also felt like the prices were just $1-2 too high and it rubbed on me while I ate. The space is cute (parking is hard though, unless you work nearby, like I do) and the service was ok (except, do I pay at the front? or my table? I have done both ... neither was clear). If you are wanting a (Columbus) farm-to-table, slightly more upscale eatery near OSU, give this place a shot. But don't come expecting it to be the best place you've ever been for food. read more

I love first watch but I just went there to try an açaí bowl for the first time (takeout) and they served it to me in this cup pictured... for almost $11.00 what the??? Not to mention that it doesn't look like as much of the portion as they advertise. Very disappointing. Even though it was takeout it doesn't seem right. read more

Excellent food and service! We had a wonderful waitress Jordan who was so attentive and friendly with a smile.

First Watch is a fun breakfast and lunch spot just south of OSU. I stopped by for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Their coffee is excellent; it's responsibly sourced and your table gets an entire carafe. Unfortunately the only creamer you get is the cheap tubs that are loaded with chemicals so as not to require refrigeration. They should really invest in some fresh cream. I tried the Floridian French toast. It was two thick pieces of whole grain toast with a heap of tropical fruits and a berry jam. The toast was coated with crunchy nuts to add to the texture. It was delicious and I was impressed with the quality and freshness of the fruits. Prices were fair and service was friendly and efficient. read more

Wait staff was prompt and professional. They were trying to handle crowds of people and orders while being short staffed and they managed it very well. The food at this location was excellent. My eggs Benedict and breakfast potatoes were the best I've had yet. Loved the kale tonic, too. Appreciate this city location having seating for one on quick lunch breaks. 5 stars. read more

Wow this place was pretty fricken good. The atmosphere was 10/10 is was lively yet not hard to get a seat which I appreciate. The service was good and the staff was accommodating as they replaced the eggs in my avocado toast with potatoes which was super nice. Kinda loud but in a fun way I would recommend this place for sure. My parents loved First Watch also and I attached photos of their food. This place is a super short walk from campus so you're gonna catch me here more often. read more

As a lover of brunch, I have been here multiple times. The food is not bad, but I always leave feeling unsatisfied. In my opinion, the food is overpriced, extremely average in flavor and the portions can be disappointing. This tome, I tried the Tri-Athlete with no tomato. I asked to swap fruit for the toast and add a side of potatoes. None of my requests were honored (I moved the toast off of my plate) and ended up paying an extra $4 for the fruit which I asked to replace the toast! read more

I love this place! It is my go-to place with friends for a good breakfast/brunch. I absolutely love their smoked salmon eggs Benedict, but I've only ever had good food while there. I haven't tried any of their fancy juices (I'm poor), but I would like to one day! I would definitely recommend. read more

Great place and very nice servers! Definitely use their advance seating option to join the wait list before you get there!

For a Saturday morning on a big campus, service was exceptionally quick and polite. Though packed, there were plenty of servers willing to help out at whatever tables. My only little complaint is that there was a hint of a fast-turnover culture- but that's understandable given the location. The culture did not take away from the food. My friend got two of the pumpkin pancakes and she loved them. I got the smoked salmon and roasted vegetable frittata- also very good. read more

Went here with a friend. Delicious food and a wide selection. I love how they had the seasonal menu as well. Restaurant was nice and clean, staff was friendly and attentive. First Watch is a great place to meet for breakfast. You can set your reservations early using the OpenTable App. The food is always good, and the environment is good to meet with friends. Parking is a bit of a hassle, as they don't have their own parking lot. Aside from that, great service, good food! read more

Great place for breakfast. Consistently good on all the locations I've been to around the country.

First of all, this is the best location they could have! it is in the heart of OSU campus. I used to go to wirthintong location. There was always a very long line. This location is new and very very clean. The view on high street is amazing. They have the same good omelette. They only need to make their coffee leas watery. I am so happy that we have a closer location! We have something you can depends on in terms of clean and good food around campus area! Thank you first watch! You made my day! read more

If you don't mind extremely long waits then this is a great spot. I ordered an avocado toast to go and waited over 30 minutes to get it- It just feels like a crazy wait for such a simple item. I also noticed people getting called for their table and the host wasn't really loud enough and some people lost their table because they couldn't hear him so the table was given to a different couple. My avocado toast was cold and soggy but I will say the taste was there and I enjoyed it. Overall, I wouldn't go back because honestly Panera or Trism offer the same quality avocado sandwich. read more

I obviously work outside-- I wear a high vis vest while working. I walked inside the restaurant and asked an employee if he could fill my water bottle for me. It was 86 degrees outside. He said no. Water is only for dine in guests. Soooo I guess I won't ever be going to first watch as a customer. It's WATER. read more

Love me some eggs Benny but still a chain. Would go again but wouldn't be my first choice. They have a lot of variety and healthy options!

Randomly decided to go here on a beautiful Monday morning. There was a 15 minute wait but we were in no rush. When we asked about sitting outside they did it no problem. This food was delicious. This place isn't bad, I would say exactly average. I got an avocado toast and my avocados were stone cold, they almost seemed frozen. Not bad, but I dont think I'll be rushing back anytime soon. For whatever reason there was a strange odor wafting through the place when we first arrived. I couldn't quite tell what it was but guesses at my table ranged from vinegar, to unclean bathroom, to sewer gas. Thankfully it went away, or I went nose blind, not too sure actually. Anyway our server was okay. He seemed to get slightly flustered/irritated when my friend was ordering. She has a soft voice and an accent, and the place was loud. I thought heard him mutter "Jeez" while she was explaining what she wanted. Not the most welcoming. On the plus side, our food came out pretty quickly. On the downside the servers seems a bit confused about which table ordered what as they brought my meal with the other table's meal in addition to forgetting the bread with my friend's salad. I'm not sure if it was just an off day for them, but it seemed like kinks you would expect if the place just opened. However, I really enjoyed my egg sandwich, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. Unfortunately upon checkout 2 out of the 4 people at my table had incorrect checks. Literally my friends check came to $0.09. Ummm... what?! Again another rather strange amateur mistake. And it took them some time to sort the checks out unfortunately. Really wanted to like this place, but it was just meh for me. read more

The food here always comes out great. I've been here a few times where the food has taken too long and they always offer a discount or free entree without question or complaint. The food is good enough that you won't mind waiting anyways. read more

This place was very cute and the service was fast and or waitress was really nice. There were a lot of options on the menu and i was torn between a few things but I ended up with the salmon eggs benedict. It was really rich and good and the salmon didn't overpower the meal as a whole. The potatoes were good but really salted. Usually I can handle a lot of salt but I couldn't finish my potatoes because they were so salty, so if you're thinking about getting the potatoes as a side, I would suggest to not get them. read more

The food is very consistent of this location on The Ohio State University campus area and every location that I have been to. I am never been disappointed to go First Watch and great service with a smile. I had The Works Omelet with Ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack; minus the sour cream with potatoes; and drank a Diet Coke with my meal. It is great that First Watch is in campus area because of students and faculty, plus the parents of the students can go there and have a great breakfast or lunch. With me, I got to do the Breakfast all day. read more

First Watch is a chain in a crowded field: breakfast and lunch restaurants that close in the afternoon. This location is brand new, has motivated staff, and has enough specials to make you look at the chalkboard and menu every time you come in. A near OSU campus location, you can get in and out if you time it properly. Take out? Yes. Eat in? Yes. Eat at one of the sidewalk tables in good weather? Yes. Be forewarned: the place has no beer or liquor license, so don't get bent out of shape if you have to forego a mimosa or breakfast cocktail. You're near a campus, for goodness sakes. Get a huge breakfast, then wander down the street to the Bier Stube, across the street to World of Beer (with weirdly late opening hours), or up the street to any number of campus watering holes. I stick to standard breakfast fare and am never disappointed. My friends get the stuff I can't pronounce and seem super satisfied, too. In a pinch, the eggs, toast, meat, potatoes at the top of the menu is gold. X-crispy bacon comes out properly. If syrup is your thing, pancakes or French toast should tide you over, but those pancakes are vast. Plan a nap accordingly. Put this place on your pre-2pm campus rotation and the food will never let you down. Caution: on street parking is tough, so try the Gateway garage, walk, or COTA bus your way here. Also, this is not a $5 breakfast. It may run a bit more, but it's worth it. Tip well and return often. read more

Great brunch place with lots of tasty options! Service was good despite them usually being super busy. Their food is overall great but not super unique, just very classic brunch food which is not bad! I highly recommend trying their seasonal drinks as those are great! As long as you don't mind the wait and the crowd I highly suggest checking this place out! read more

Came here on a Saturday morning with my friends and the place was packed ! Luckily, we had just beat the big crowd so were seated relatively quickly. Our waitress was friendly and took our orders pretty quickly. She also gave us a coffee pot for our table which was nice since the place was getting really busy. I ordered the classic benedict. It was good, but the meat was actual ham instead of Canadian bacon that I thought most "classic" benedicts had. Nevertheless, the poached eggs were cooked nicely and the portions were good. You also get a salad which is a nice touch. The prices here seem pretty standard, with most dishes averaging about $11. Overall, friendly and fast service. Good food. Would definitely come again. read more
