HangOverEasy is popular for its retro diner feel with modern touches, nostalgic artwork & playful tongue-in-cheek food menus. This place has been a favorite of mine for years! This time we went to their Mt. Lookout location & they did not disappoint! Here's what we ordered: Lil' Juicy Dirty Sodas Biscuit & Jam Cup of Sausage Gravy Frog Eyes The Dirty (Breakfast Burrito) The sodas were sweet & refreshing with a fizzy kick! The Biscuits were warm, buttery, and perfectly paired with delicious Jam & rich creamy Sausage Gravy. The Frog Eyes were savory & indulgent, and The Dirty was stuffed to the seams with Eggs, Chorizo, Hoe Fries, and covered in warm creamy Queso & Pico. It was everything a foodie can hope for at breakfast time! My favorite bites were the Lil' Juicy Dirty Soda & The Dirty! ‍ Whether you're craving a hangover cure, a weekend brunch, or a classic diner breakfast with a twist, HangOverEasy always delivers. We walked in and immediately were greeted by multiple good mornings from the staff. They only serve breakfast and lunch here but the menu is really expansive. I wanted to do the pancakes which are dinner plate size but stuck with the basic breakfast because it's so yummy. Eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash-browns were delicious with just the right amount of brown and the bacon was perfectly crisp. Love that this place supports the animals. They feature adoptable pets on tv screens and do fundraising through out the year. Love that everyone seems to know each other. Servers are greeting guests by name. Just has a great diner feel to it. Bite has been on my husband's list for awhile because he's all about local small businesses. Any who, here is what we ordered.. Blue crab smothered fries 7/10 - So I don't know if they used fresh blue crab or in a tin, but nonetheless this was fairly good. Quite an innovative plate I would say.. I didn't know what to expect, maybe something more like a poutine...? The flavor of the blue crab and shrimp were seasoned very nicely. My only two recommendation would be... 1) they should make their fries fresh in-house - I could tell these were frozen fries and then 2) I would have like to see the "smothered" cheese/sauce be thicker because it was quite watery. Chicken alla vodka 6/10 - The crispy chicken cutlet was very good! Probably the best part of the dish. As for the vodka sauce - I thought that this was just okay and possibly its just my taste preference. There was a heavy taste of possibly too much cream? Or maybe even sour cream? I can't put my finger on it.. I don't know if it's me (it probably is), but I tasted even a hint of mustard...? Anywho... this dish was okay, the chicken really saved it for me. I recommend that they should do grated pecorino vs slices only because the cheese would be even distributed throughout the dish. The vodka pasta tasted better the next day as a leftover because I put a ton of parmesan cheese. Blueberry maple salmon 9/10 - My husband ordered this dish and I would agree that this dish was the winner of the night. Another innovative dish for a quaint local establishment. The salmon had a real nice crisp, cooked perfectly to medium, and there was a really nice smokey taste to the salmon. Overall a good dining experience - definitely small recommendations on a couple of the things we ordered on execution, but nonetheless we'd come back here to support.
