Was staying in downtown for work event and was so happy to discover this place. Went in on a Saturday morning and was seated right away. I ordered a chocolate chip and plain pancake with a side of whipped cream. When they say the portion is huge, they mean it. Yes, this is good breakfast food, with excellent pancakes, but it's not worth standing in line on a cold Sunday morning to eat those pancakes or the slightly less successful eggs benedict. First Watch is a national chain and seems to be everybody's favorite breakfast joint in Cincy, but I don't think it's all that. I placed a carry out order this morning for a Cobb salad, and they accidentally forgot the egg. No big deal, I work nearby and asked if I could just run back and get a side of egg. The lady on the phone was very nice and said it would be no problem. I ran back in and they had the egg in a side cup for me. I grabbed it and walked out the door but as I look down I see all this hair and dirt through the lid on the egg. I opened the container and pulled some of it out and it's covered in hair and little brown and black speckles like it had been on the floor or something. Seeing this made my stomach turn so I went back to return my order. The servers in the front we're all very nice and apologetic while one went to get the Manager Damien. When the manager came over he was very clearly annoyed with me for insisting on a refund and not a new salad. When I told him I didn't like seeing the hair in my food his exact response was "Yea, most people don't." He was very short with me and didn't apologize or offer an explanation. An it definitely left me with a very bad opinion of their management at this location. Accidents happen and sometimes food will get messed up but there's no reason a customer should be given food covered in hair and then made to feel bad for wanting a refund. read more

They're always very accommodating to me and my group of moms and babies who come during Brunch time. Always quick with our food, refills and any other needs like high chairs or baby slings. We have had a party of 6 moms and 6 babies before and were able to get in an seated with no problems or complaints. Love the staff and the delicious food! First experience at First Watch and it will definitely not be the last! I can't say enough good things about this place, but I'm going to try anyway :-) Went with the fam on a Sunday at 10. We were a little nervous about it after hearing about the wait times but decided to give it a try anyway. The waiting area was packed when we got there but they did have coffee in said waiting area which I thought was kind of awesome. Anyway, they told us there was a 15 minute wait but we only ended up waiting less than ten minutes, not bad! Anyway, there are plenty of things this place does right (great atmosphere and service, coffee carafe at your table, home fries in lieu of hashbrowns) but for me, the best thing about first watch (as it should be) is their awesome menu! Crepeggs (crepe filled with eggs and other fun stuff,) breakfast chimichangas, egg white omelets, fresh fruit, bacon-cheddar pancakes, what?! If only there were ten of me so I could have tried more! I had the turkey chive crepegg and it was ridiculous! SO good! It came with home fries and an english muffin. Wish I would have foodspotted it, it was kind of beautiful :-) If there is to be any critisism whatsoever (and I'm nitpicking here) it would be that the potatoes could have been crispier. However, I'd take less-than-crispy homefries over the most perfectly cooked shredded hashbrowns ANY day of the week. My husband had a waffle which was gone before I got a chance to taste it so it must have been good and my daughter's shared a GIANT chocolate chip pancake which I did try and was really delicious. First Watch is a standout eatery because of the fresh ingredients. There's such a stark contrast between their quality and the other large chains' breakfast options. We arrived a little after 11 and didn't have a wait at all. Everyone was very satisfied with both the taste and the portion of their respective meals. I came to this restaurant because the hotel that I was staying in had stop serving breakfast that morning. So I was recommended by the restaurant in the hotel to come to this restaurant for breakfast which was right around the corner. I was greeted by a friendly waitress when I walked in the door and promptly seated. After taking a look at the menu I realize that I've come to the right place. There is some normal fare for breakfast and brunch on the menu but there was some unusual standouts like bacon and cheese pancakes. Sounds gross but it was outstanding. We settled on the Chilaquiles on special, and I opted for bacon avocado omelette. all I wanted was a hot breakfast on a cold 33F morning. and i was served up cold toast and cold potatoes alongside a glass of ice with a some water squeezed in. i am dairy intolerant and it is on the cusp of 2017 and an upmarket, not cheap cafe has nothing but cow milk. Come on guys, you make kale juice and tout organic eggs -- it is like $3.50 for 2L of almond, coconut, cashew, rice or even soy. It would last a week or 2 in the fridge. the eggs were good and when i asked for bacon AND sausage they did not charge me extra for the sausage - for that simple kindness 3 stars. read more

Oh, First Watch, I used to love you when I lived in Florida. What happened? Good coffee, nice service, attractive menu. I ordered the Key West Crepegg, and I have no idea what it was. It had the strangest taste -- like all the flavors were competing, resulting in no discernible flavor at all. The Caps Etc. was even weirder -- mushroom caps with grated cheese over them in one bowl, and eggs in another. The potatoes were not crispy, as I like them. Perhaps unfair to give a low rating on a single visit after so many years, but there are so many other good breakfast places around that I doubt I would return. read more
