Just for context, I live in the neighborhood... This place is not worth the effort. We put our names in for a table online before we even walked over. There is little to no organization on getting people seated timely or just simple updates on timing ( I get it things are not exact) but you expect simple communication. Once we were seated, we waited for 20 min (yes I verified) before being offered a water or even being asked if we would like anything to drink. Needless to say we didn't stick around any longer. As a solo diner, I was offered a seat at the "community table", which is a neat concept I suppose. The biggest downside was the uncomfortable chairs. I started with the Morning Meditation juice from the Juice Bar, and added their antioxidant vitamin shot. The juice (orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, beet, and agave) was wonderful. Unfortunately the vitamin shot made it too sweet. Next time I will skip that addition, because it was perfect before that. I had the Crab & Avocado Toast, which was delicious but definitely needed to be eaten with a fork and knife. Finally, the Million Dollar Bacon is absolutely worth the tiny upcharge from regular bacon. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with family on a quiet Sunday morning. 7 of us ordered very different items but we got our meal quickly and the taste was great. We did have a few errors with our order but that, flavor and kindness of our server made up for errors. We enjoyed the seasonal menu prepared for fall. It was quite a busy day and I am sure the restaurant is a bit understaffed like everywhere else. We were right behind the welcome podium, and thus a part of all the action. I asked for coffee and never received the creamer with it. Apparently creamer is meant to be on the tables and I had to steal it from the guests next to us after waiting so long my coffee was cold. We both ordered the green juice and different omelets. I had to say, the green juice was delicious and my favorite part of the whole experience. Neither of us were able to eat our omelets - we both picked at the cold, thick eggs. They were fairly tasteless and the texture was not welcoming. Mine was supposed to come with pico de gallo and I had to ask for that too. At one point our server was standing next to our table, yelling over our heads about an incoming party. I do have to note that the same server brought us entirely new juices when we asked for to-go cups - definitely a kind afterthought. The most confusing part was trying to pay. We were not notified to pay at the counter and sat waiting. I was pleasantly surprised to see this restaurant in the city as we have one at home. We were seated right away. Our server Nisha was on point. She has only worked here for two months, but you can not tell. We ordered the Bacon Cheddar Cornbread, Belgian Waffle and French Toast. They did not disappoint. The BCC is a summertime offering and definitely should be ordered. It is not dry and honey butter is served on top. Not a little, but a lot! The Belgian Waffle was ordered by my teen. It was gobbled up immediately. The French Toast came on two chibatta pieces of bread. It came out hot and was a perfect portion. Be cautious here when splitting bills. I attended with four friends, and our waiter put us on one check without asking. We paid individually up front. However, the tip suggestions (18%, 20%, 22%) was based on the full bill rather than our individual bills, which I didn't realize until after my card was charged! Three of us made this mistake and resulted us in leaving a 90% tip. We asked for our bills to be voided and to repay with correct tip amounts. Our waiter was not apologetic about this and seemed annoyed. I'd ask that First Watch either fix their point of sale system so that it splits the tip suggestions individually or train their staff better to alert customers of this system quirk. I'm curious how many people have left an exorbitant tip on a split bill without realizing it. read more

Downtown Cincy on a Sunday morning was pretty empty despite being Fathers Day. We were one of three tables occupied so it seemed very personal at 8am. Street parking was ample and free until 2pm. Score! Chocolate Chip pancake was huge and delicious, so glad I only ordered one. My first cheesy grits experience was a great one. These are in fact cheesy and so good. We were seated and greeted by our waitress right away. The table was clean and the menus were paper/disposable. Every time I go to First Watch, I try to order something different. This time I indulged in the avocado toast. I substituted the poached eggs for scrambled eggs. The toast was delicious and had TONS of avocado on it. For the first time ever I couldn't eat it with my hands and had to cut it up. In addition to the avo toast, I couldn't not get the freshest glass of first watch orange juice. Wow I absolutely love this restaurant. The last time we visited one of these was in Dallas Texas. So we had to wait and drive all the way to Cincinnati Ohio just to eat at another one! My introduction to First Watch was in Charlotte, NC. When I found this happy spot while visiting Cincinnati I was absolutely going. Took my family and First Watch did not disappoint. Kind server, lovely atmosphere and we all had a great breakfast. You can go all in with huge delicious pancakes and fabulous maple bacon or swing the other way and get a superfood bowl with carrot juice. Something for everyone and in my family's opinion, all was wonderful. Going back today with a party of 13. Confident we will have and equally lovely experience.
