We are regulars at First Watch -- Bowie. We're very happy with the great service and the consistent quality of the food. Today we were waited on by Rashidah who was very friendly and an excellent, thoughtful waitress. Staff like her -- and there are numerous other terrific staff members -- are one of the reasons we keep coming back. read more

Unfortunately have to give one star for poor/no service. Went this morning with my 2 year old. Not only was I seated at a dirty table with lipstick stained coffee cups, no one ever served us! I decided to leave and go somewhere else. read more

This is my first time coming to this location. I frequent the Falls Church location and have an amazing meal every time, so I was a bit nervous to try a different location. I have no regrets coming here today! We came towards the end of the shift around 1 PM. We were seated quickly after being on the waitlist through the website. Our server Jordan was timely, courteous, and just on point! So shoutout to her! The trifecta was perfect as usual, my waffle was crispy, which I love. My eggs were fluffy and my bacon was thick and flavorful. The Floridian French toast was soft and I'm not sure if it was supposed to have a bit of crispiness but it didn't. The flavor was ok though. The fruit was very fresh and perfectly ripened. I wish I had a picture of my buttered grits but I was too busy eating them! They were great! The barbacoa quesadilla birria style Benedict (say that 3x fast ha!) was great. Talk about a one-way ticket to FLAVA TOWN! read more

First time at First Watch. Sat morning breakfast was amazing!!! Just the fact I was able to get one slice of French toast as a side for my breakfast was outstanding!!! Try the fresh juice. It was so good my Girlfriend sent her husband back the next day to get her another cup. read more

First Watch is always a vibe. The food is always fresh and customer service is awesome. I always recommend any of the freshly made juices, the million dollar bacon, and French toast or waffle. If I don't want a waffle or French toast, I get the steel cut oatmeal with the grilled blueberry muffin or chocolate muffin. read more

Great service and delicious breakfast. Pumpkin pancakes and chicken sausage patty were great. Speciality juices were fresh. read more

Great Farm Fresh Locally Grown Breakfast spot! We stopped in for breakfast on a Thursday morning and were shocked that there was a 20 minute wait at the Bowie location. We gave our name and took a seat. It's a very cute cozy place with an exciting menu. We were seated in under 20 minutes and the food was delicious and worth the wait. I ordered cheese grits, bacon and an English muffin, my boyfriend ordered the pumpkin pancakes with sausage. Both were very fresh and good. I also had the Carrot Crush drink that was very refreshing. I will definitely come back and try something else on the menu. read more

Solid breakfast/lunch spot! Waffles and pancakes are especially delicious. I like how many options are on the menu...I think anyone that comes here can find something they'd like to order. The wait is usually very long so beware. You can join the waitlist online but it usually takes longer than it says. Wish they stayed open later than 2:30 but they stay open for those still dining or that have been waiting which is nice. read more

My friend said she didn't know what the definition of a rubbery omelet was until she had one here. It was our first time and likely our last time eating here. The menu looked good and it was busy with both eat-in and takeaway. However the service was lackluster at best as it took 50 minutes for our coffee to arrive. And then when our food arrived, the toast was cold and only toasted on one side. Everything was over cooked. Perhaps we came on an off day but not going to come back to find out. read more

For a tasty, healthy, and wallet friendly meal we highly recommend any First Watch Daytime Cafe! We highly recommend ordering any of their fresh-press juices, but the Morning Meditation and Acai Squeeze are our favorites. For meals, the Tri-fecta and Ancient Grains Power Bowl (on their seasonal menu) are really good. If you come during the weekend, arrive early because there is typically a wait. Also, the service can be hit or miss at this location. We came once before and the service was excellent, but this time the service was slow and inattentive. read more

This is one of my favorite places to have breakfast and a brunch. The food is always fresh clean and delicious. Also a note. The service is outstanding, especially the last time I was there her name was Rashida. She was very attentive, professional friendly offered suggestions to my friend who had Never been before and overall the ambience is quite nice. read more

The food and service was excellent, even during the very busy Black Friday rush. Rashidah was very attentive and kind. Thank you!

Rashidah was a great server! It was our first time here with the family and the food was amazing. Will definitely come back.

I think the staff all need wrist watches. When we were making our reservations we were told 25 minutes. After 45 minutes I asked and was told they were setting up our table, and they needed to give the kitchen staff a break because they were getting slammed. After another 25 minutes we were told it would be 5 to 10 minutes. Again I went back to talk with someone and was told 5 to 10 minutes. When I told the gentleman I was told that 15 minutes just prior. He responses was oh well. We ended up waiting a total of an hour and 50 minutes. Once seated I had to flag down a waitress to take our ordered. The food was just barely ok. When we had finished I had to flag someone down for our bill We will not be going back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. . read more

I keep wanting to love this place and give it another try. I have been to other First Watch restaurants and have had excellent experiences. The First Watch in Bowie Town Center (Bowie, Maryland) is awful. Before COVID, the service was poor at best. It seems it has gotten worse. I have dietary restrictions. This restaurant did not remove any food items from my order that I can't eat. I reached out to corporate office and was told they would look into it. read more

Food was decent, however I had a very poor first time experience. Customer service was not the best. Was sitting for about 20 minutes plus before I had to flag down someone to please take my order and no apologies for the wait or nothing I saw several waiters having conversations about travel plans and no one noticed that I haven't been helped. read more

Decided to go out for breakfast this morning and our stomachs led us to First Watch. Nice rustic interior design. Menu options are great. If you want something filling and healthy they got it. International flavors they got it. Hearty, sweet, savory, and salty, they got that too. We had the lemon ricotta pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Amazing lol. Pancakes were hot, airy and fluffy. The whipped lemon ricotta topping was a nice add. You could eat it without syrup if you wanted to. Biscuits and gravy was hearty, peppery bit not too heavy. Certainly will be the go to breakfast spot on this side of town. read more

This First Watch location has: Good food, great service, and a nice calm atmosphere. Would definitely eat here again!!!

So we are finally done with this place. We absolutely love the food. However every time we come, we end up waiting an insane amount of time. We use the app to get in line before we come. That helps. But then we have to wait for our waiter to come and take our order (or our drinks). Then we have to wait AGAIN for our food. And by wait I mean we waited an hour to get our food. By the time we get our food, we are so upset from waiting that we don't really enjoy the food. We decided while we love the food, it's not worth it anymore. The service ruins the great food experience. We are done. read more

I wanted to like this place so badly because they have cage free eggs and most diners don't. The eggs were great the Turkey Sausage gravy was excellent. Negatives: my biscuit was very dark. The potatoes were burnt and hard. The grits could have used some butter and seasoning. It was an online order so I didn't check my food. I might try it again but not sure. I would definitely go back for the gravy. But the biscuit was not good. read more

Food is good but quickly gets expensive. In my opinion there are better cheaper options.

First time trying First Watch. I've heard a lot about this spot from friends and co-workers and a after mild morning hike, I checked in. I ordered the Braised Short Rib Benedict with a French toast, and the Kale Tonic drink. The Kale Tonic was recommended by Lala, the bubbly waitress. Often times, I order the more healthy option drinks from different places and the taste is mediocre. This however, the Kale Tonic, was on point! The Benedict was also great. It was very filling and looked amazing. The potatoes was just right, it enriched the flavors of the Benedict with its own rich flavors. (Shout out to the chef!) I'm going back for that Avocado toast but I definitely recommend this spot for your next move. Can't go wrong. read more

A few weeks ago ordered the Trifecta with an egg cooked over well. Got home and the egg was runny! Had to finish cooking it myself on the stove. This was our first time at First Watch for a quick bite. We were at the community table. I ordered the breakfast tacos and sweet tea. My friend ordered the waffles and the morning meditation (drink). I should be writing this review about the amazing food and how much I loved everything. But unfortunately it was overshadowed by the manager on duty being a complete hellion to everyone she encountered from the customers to the employees. It's actually interesting that she is running the place because you can tell by the aesthetics of the place they have a nice and inviting atmosphere. She is seriously their only problem. The entire time we were eating she was constantly being rude to everyone she encountered. Two employees were sitting at the table beside us maybe rolling silverware I'm not sure but she stopped over to them and just barked ordered. She even got on our waitress about us not wanting our drinks to go even though our waitress was right and she had to take them back and pack them up because of her managers bad information. I spent a little under $100 and while I was eating all I heard was her telling customers what she was NOT going to do. Someone came a little late for their Togo order and she was telling them she's not making it over because they should have came when it was ready. Now I understand not wanting to waste but there is a way to go about getting your point communicated without offense. When I went up to the register to pay she was standing there and instead of greeting me or saying how was the food or anything she chose to put her figure up like hold on and never said one word. So I'm just standing there with my card ready to pay and she playing on the POS system like it was more important than letting me go on about my day. The funniest part was I left there and went to the dirty Dollar Tree next door and was treated like I was at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. So all in all the food was great the purple haze drink and their fresh juices are great. The lemon ricotta pancakes are delicious everything about my meal was great. I wish they didn't use water in the hot chocolate but I can deal with that. However if you want a pleasant dining experience without a side of verbal abuse taking place I'd advise you to try another one of their locations if they have one. I hope she gets training or finds a job doing landscaping or something not involving people. You can tell this was not a bad day it's her bossy attitude she needs to reevaluate. I hope the upper management understands that the experience is way more important than the food. I could have wrote a great review of average food if the service was nice but instead I have great food and a less than stellar experience. read more

I came here with my mom for lunch and it was pretty busy. I ordered the morning meditation, breakfast tacos with black beans. My mother ordered an omelette, toast and salad with the million dollar bacon. Every time I have been here the stay have been very friendly and accommodating. When we walked in we were greeted by the hostess. She was organized and told us there was a wait but was still effective when helping people to get sat at a table. Once we sat down we were pretty much ready to order since we looked at the menu while waiting. My mother ordered off the seasonal menu which had a seafood omelette. She enjoyed it. I also had some of her bacon which was really tasty. It had a sticky sweetness to it and was cooked perfectly. I have had the breakfast tacos before and they definitely did not disappoint and were filling and cooked to perfection. When in the area and looking for a new breakfast, brunch or lunch place this will be the place to consider. read more

Now I really like First Watch. I have always only gone to the Laurel location which has always been good. I never knew there was one in Bowie, which is actually closer to me. We were greeted upon arrival and seated right away. Now generally First Watch usually has a wait, especially on Sundays. The server was very nice indeed. She explained the menu and the most popular dish there. She checked in on us frequently to make sure that we didn't need anything. The food was great and came in a timely manner. It had flavor and the portions are generous. I really like the Kale Tonic Juice, its a refreshing glass of healthy goodness. It does have a taste you have to get used to though. Overall it was a great experience which has been the norm of all 3 locations I have been to. read more

Great food and attentive service from the staff. The restaurant is also very clean and inviting

Like many of you I too turned to Yelp for a review of First Watch. I too read the reviews on the long wait time for food, and like you're thinking right now, I still went. Don't be like me. Don't go to this time trap! There must be one stove and one cook bc the wait time for food is unreal! Usually people complain that the server is slow, but not in this case. There is clearly a delay in the kitchen! I swear we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Please note, my food arrived after my friend's food and I watched my food go to two different tables before it made it's way to me smh Is the food worth the wait...no. The end. read more

I walked into First Watch around 12:30 pm to order Breakfast to take home. The restaurant was crowded and it appeared that the staff couldn't handle the number of people. That is definitely not what I ordered!! I am definitely dissappinted. read more

Hallelujah!!! Excuse me while I do my praise dance!! Finally, a wonderful breakfast restaurant has invaded the Bowie area. All I can say is, WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD! For years I've complained to my family about how the area lacks a really decent breakfast restaurant. Sure, we have the usual suspects in IHOP, Panera and Bob Evans, but I've been there, done that and bought a t-shirt. First Watch is a breath of fresh air to my taste buds. Focusing on fresh vegetables and fruits as the main star, FW's main focus is fresh and healthy menu options, with a twist of power packing flavor. Located in the Bowie Town Center (actually it's directly behind the Safeway and a few doors down from the Next Day Blinds store) First Watch specializes in breakfast and lunch foods. Open daily from 7am to 2:30pm, this restaurant packs a lot of healthy flavor in every bite of your meal. When I arrived, I was greeted by a server who seated me immediately. After ordering and tasting the food, I knew immediately that this was going to be my new go-to breakfast spot. The omelette I ordered was cooked to perfection! It was light and fluffy and even included fresh herbs!! Deep sigh! Who puts fresh herbs in their omelettes??? FW does and it was fabulous. The potatoes that accompanied my meal were even seasoned perfectly. Even the English muffin was great!! My server was friendly and answered every question I could imagine about the food. All of the staff I encountered was nice and spoke to me when they passed. The decor is rustic, yet makes you feel like you're at your grandparents home. They have free Wi-Fi and its a very warm and welcoming environment. I've heard great things about their lunch, so will be back soon to try it out. As far as I'm concerned, FW can do no wrong in my book. I can't think of one thing that could've been better. PS try the Day Glow juice (carrots, oranges, lemons and ginger juice) it's the perfect pick me up. read more

First Watch has been on my radar for quite some time. All my VA peeps would chat about it and post yummy pics to entice you to make a trip down to Fairfax County. Well thanks to my fellow Yelpers (Adrienne, Rae, Toya) organizing brunch here at the new Bowie location, my wait was over. I went to the early church service to ensure I made it in time! During my initial visit I ordered the Trifecta. The Belgian waffle was light and airy as promised with a nice crisp. The waffle had a light coating of powdered sugar, topped with a dollop of cinnamon butter, and served with a side of berry compote. It's good and sweet (without syrup) plus my over medium cage free eggs were cooked perfectly. That's no common feat. I'm so used to people overcooking my eggs so I was pleasantly surprised. On subsequent visits, I tried the avocado, bacon, hash substituting the bacon for turkey sausage. It was really satisfying and the fresh OJ was great. At a later date, I tried the healthy turkey egg white omelet with spinach, tomatoes, and feta. I had to return multiple times to ensure I had enough information before developing my review. Service is consistently good even though I've never had a server introduce herself and share her name. They kind of just walk up and start talking. Maybe it's their policy. Any who, First Watch offers farm to table freshness at a great value. I'm looking forward to my next visit! -The line to pay is always a slow process for me. First Watch should invest in handheld credit card processing units. read more
