I went here over the summer with my partner. We ordered take out and ate in the car. Her food was awful. I went back in to ask for a refund and return her food (she took one bite). I waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me even though wait staff walked by be a few times. I couldn't even get them to make eye contact with me when I called for their attention. Eventually someone came over and said they couldn't do anything for us but would take my email and get back to us after they "talk to corporate" or something. Months later-- still nothing. Go to IHOP instead. read more

The menu has an excellent selection of both food and drink options. I also appreciate that they donate to the Amazon rainforest and try to use fair trade coffee. However, we waited far too long for our food and it arrived cold. Normally, I would've asked them to reheat it, but I was starving by the time we got it so did not even bother and just ate the cold eggs Benedict. Additionally, it took a long while to get drinks, strange since we were at the bar, and when I reordered another drink, it was forgotten about completely. I do appreciate that it seems their take out containers are compostable and not plastic, so overall, I commend them for trying to be more conscientious. However, service was slow, the food was cold and additional orders were forgotten. I would return a second time to see if that was just a fluke but a bit disappointing for a place we had high hopes for. read more

Service and food quality has has recently declined. I have been twice in the last 2 weeks. On each visit, I have been brought the wrong meal. When I do get the correct meal, food has been undercooked or overcooked each time. Unfortunate because I used to recommend First Watch to everyone. read more

Understand they are new and working out the kinks, but really slow service for an online order. Arrived at time of pickup. Order not ready. Asked for update, none provide. Waited 15 mins and asked for another update. Took another 10 minutes before food was ready. Drove the 2 mins home and all the food was cold. Very small portion of cold eggs is not good. Would not recommend. read more

We have been here twice. First time, it seems like it was opening weekend (we didn't realize), and we blamed away the poor service on being extremely busy and new staff. Not a huge issue. However, when we went back a month later, on a an extremely quiet day, it was truly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. 1. While we were seated quickly, our server arrived late. We asked for waters in addition to our coffee... a carafe ultimately arrived, but only one glass of water. My son never got his kids milk. Because there are food runners, we literally never saw our server again. She never checked back in to see if we needed anything, etc. Truly one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. 2. The wait for food was long. This is not inherently problematic, but what was a problem is that our food arrived to us cold. Pancakes, eggs, etc. The egg dishes were inedible. The food came out piecemeal, with upwards of a 10 minute wait between some of the dishes. Quality was poor. 3. There was a visible argument between what appeared to be the manager and hostess. I would say the vibe in this place is pretty awful- seems to be low staff morale and poor energy throughout a new restaurant. There are 5/5 breakfast places in AA, not just downtown, but within a 1 minute drive of this restaurant. Unless there was a pretty dramatic change, I would be hard pressed to ever set foot in this establishment again. read more

The restaurant was very busy, so, had to sit at the bar. Took about 10 minutes to get waited on. Had Belgian waffle with blueberry compote. Was good, but even after asking for more compote, still not enough. They are VERY stingy with it. That big waffle needs more! Waiter was really nice, but looked like he was training someone, so that's probably why they ignored us so long. read more

I really liked the First Watch in Pennsylvania, so I was beyond excited to see that we were getting one locally. What a disappointment. The server was not friendly at all. Rather, she seemed annoyed and was not very attentive. My friend and I were there right when they opened, so her lack of engagement should/could not be contributed to her being tired, if so, perhaps she should have called off for the day. Likewise, the food was mostly just okay. I ordered the Trifecta. The eggs and the meat were okay. I used my napkin to soak up the grease from the bacon. The Belgian waffle was delicious! I would definitely order it again. But, next time, if there is a next time, I will order a carry-out and avoid the lackadaisical wait staff. read more

Pleasant atmosphere but food was mediocre. Soft scrambled eggs were overdone, potatoes were undercooked. Both our dishes were cold.

Terrible service. Food arrived to the table sporadically and cold. Would not recommend.

My husband and I had breakfast here on a Saturday. The staff was welcoming and the food was good.

I have a great time every time I come here lol food and service is great!!! The ambiance is family oriented but also fun for a friends brunch hangout I love it. read more

Added our name to wait list from website. This is a useless feature because they don't add you to waitlist until you get to restaurant. Waited 35 minutes to be seated. Waited 15 minutes for waiter to get to table. And waited 45 minutes for food. Admittedly, the food if good but the slow service isn't worth it to me. What should have been a 60-75 minute brunch took two hours. Such a disappointment. read more

If I could give it less I would just for the simple fact that the manager Brittney was preying on our server. i watched at my table while I was trying to enjoy my over priced cold food as she berated the young waitress about her eye liner and eye lashes. this young woman was busting her tail in her section and instead of being a good team lead and positively reinforcing the work she was doing (that matters), only brings up the fact that her lashes aren't to her liking. let's put energy towards what matters and let people know when they're doing a good job instead of bringing them down for their expression. she really just sounds jealous of this beautiful young server. this girl was put together and respectable and did not look in any way offensive to the customers or anyone in question. read more

I was seated right away and no one came to check on me for 30 minutes I complained to hostess since I was by myself I moved to counter. Waitress was rude, took my order. Food came 30 minutes later COLD. I will never go to first watch at this location and will NOT recommend. read more

The food was decent. we waited 48 minutes to get our food and then it came out 1 plate at a time for the 6 of us, delivered by people other than our server. All except for mine, which our server gave to another table and then forgot to check back for 10 minutes. During the wait I was unable to flag down any server and there was no manager in sight. I get it. People have bad days. If our server had checked in like most servers do the issue could have been resolved quickly. But she didn't. She disappeared and I had to hunt her down. Hopefully this was a fluke. Once I had my good it was mediocre. read more

The waitlist is a joke and completely pointless! The app allows you to "get in line" and quotes a wait time however when you arrive and check in, it's even longer Makes absolutely no sense read more

My daughter and I happened to look for a breakfast place to eat the other day and found First Watch. Walked in and was greeted with friendly hosts and were seated right away. Our server Corinna was very courteous and friendly. She gave us samples of their juice drinks. All were very good but our favorite was the Kale juice. We had their pancakes as well as their biscuits and gravy along with potatoes. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. All the servers we observed were very nice and hard working people. Very busy place but worth checking out. Turns out their restaurant just opened their doors the day we ate there! We definitely plan on returning and trying their other items on the menu and hope we can get our great server again Corrina. read more

First visit with a few friends. As another review mentioned, we were seated & waited---and waited---and waited on a non busy Wednesday early afternoon. Our server wanted to be anywhere but at our table, or any other table it looked like. I get that---customer service is not the glamor of a job. We started with the bacon---it was fine. Boy, the $$$$ prices but that is everywhere. We had a few omelets that were okay, one order of the lemon pancakes----very, very little lemon flavor & very, very dry. Do not recommend! And an order of biscuits & gravy----just nope. My eggs were super dry but not once, but twice---the gravy was cold. Now, we waited for about 25 minutes for our food to arrive---no check from server or to let us know our food was coming shortly---and by the time it arrived, it wasn't brought out by our server. But I had to wait about 5 minutes for her to return to our table to say to her---this is cold. How? Made to order but still cold? She said she'll have them remake the order & walked away---returning 10 mins later with the same dish. The rest of the table had already finished their meals & were ready to leave. But that was it----no apology for the cold meal or anything. I do not recommend visiting here. The food was just okay--not worth a return visit at all & very pricey for small portions. Disappointed. read more

Great food and service. Abbey, our server, was very attentive and prompt. We will be back.

Breakfast preview with the family was delicious. Kids enjoyed pancakes and the grilled cheese. Bacado was yummy! Cute location, great service. read more

Sat there for 36 minutes without water or anyone acknowledging our table. I stopped a waitress and asked if we could please have some water when she had a chance. She snapped at me and told me they were busy. 2 other tables right near us were seated after and had ordered by this point. read more

I got carry out and was extremely disappointed. I didn't get any syrup for my waffles. They didn't give me a straw for my drink. They even forgot my moms side salad. read more

Our party of three visited Black Friday for breakfast. Arrived 9:30, was seated a little after 10 but didn't get our food until near 11:30. Pancakes and sausages were great, potatoes really good, but my scrambled eggs were near cold and the waffle with butter had a long black hair in it. Really a big turn off, waiter was apologetic, took away my plate and didn't charge me for the food I did not eat but still charged me for my coffee. read more

Long awaited, very disappointing. Yes, it's very popular. And, yes, the breakfast potatoes were great, and the service was good. But the scrambled eggs were cold, the coffee very bitter, and the the turkey sausages so wierdly sour they were simply inedible. read more

Super healthy and delicious! We had Maxwell as our server and he was awesome. Very attentive and helpful when choosing the right meal!

Awesome new breakfast spot. Offers healthier items that won't leave you feeling like you just ate a day's worth of calories. Everything we ordered tasted great. Very nice inside! Maxwell was an amazing server! read more

Every single time I come here they have multiple staff doing nothing while many people are waiting for tables and no one is bussing the empty ones. The food is mediocre at best and service is eh. Has potential in Ann Arbor but they are definitely failing. read more

Call ahead seating was useless. It's not clear that you're supposed to check in via text when you get there. I tried to check in with a hostess but it took at least 10 minutes for one to appear at the hostess area, where we were told 10 minutes to wait. It took over 30 minutes to get a table. Over half the tables were empty, and I get that there are only a limited number of staff. But once seated there was a major draft and it felt like the air conditioning was in as opposed to heat... maybe to prevent folks from lingering over their meals? We ate and got out as soon as we could. Not sure we will go back. read more

Must be understaffed. Our 30 minute wait time turned into one hour. When we asked how much longer, we were told 30 more minutes. Not worth an hour and a half wait. Looked like people were not getting served either, so it would have been much longer. read more

First Watch came highly recommended by friends, so I thought I would try it! My first time in First Watch, I had the soup and sandwich combo...it was really good! The portions were generous and the price was moderate. I spoke with the Manager, Bradley, who was super accommodating and kind. This is definitely an Ann Arbor breakfast and lunch spot. read more

Long waits for a table are a given and are usually indicators of a desired experience. Unfortunately, that was shades of things to come. Food preparation took almost an hour and a half and the food arrived cold and poorly execute. The poached eggs were overcookEd and the pancake was burnt. Skip. read more
