The Banana Dream Match caught my eye so I ordered it immediately along with an Avocado toast + egg ( extra cost). They give you a buzzer for the food and you have to find a corner to wait in that's out of the way and pick your food up by the kitchen. The vibe was very open and I liked the different seating options as well as the abundance of outlets. I ended up eating outside to get away from the busyness and the I was in the middle of talking when the taste of the Banana hit me. The best. Banana matcha I've ever had. Which I didn't expect because I've tried so many but what I loved most is that the banana flavor was sweet but tasted like real banana and the matcha flavor was still present. My husband and I shared a decadent chocolate and pistachio treat. And he really enjoyed his drink. This place is perfect for a date, where you can talk with enough privacy, without being interrupted by waiters during a meaningful conversation, with the elegance that feels like you have been transported to another region of the world. I was really impressed by how spacious and beautiful the interior is... definitely not what I expected based on the exterior of the building. There is plenty of seating, in various configurations, throughout - small tables, bigger tables, comfy bench seats, lounge chairs, and the like. There was only one girl working during my visit and she was kind, helping me with questions about their menu items. I did not have anything to eat, but they did have an assortment of baked goods to choose from. The coffee I tried was okay... I went for something new to me, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I ordered the Chef's Bowl, and because I love rice, they were kind enough to add an extra scoop of rice along with the potatoes, which I really appreciated. I had asked for the bacon to be removed, but unfortunately it was still included, and there was a lot of it in the bowl. I spent most of the meal picking it out, which definitely took away from the experience a bit, but the dish itself was still delicious. I also noticed the presentation was different from what I expected. My graham vanilla bourbon latte was missing the cookie, and the drink came in a plastic cup instead of the tall glass I'd had on previous visits. My food also came in a little to-go carton instead of plated presentation. Has the place moved away from using plates and glassware? If so, what a pity, presentation really does make a difference, especially for such a cute café atmosphere. One thing I found interesting is that despite being only a few feet away from Karen's Bakery, Sociology still had a steady line of people waiting for coffee and food, which says a lot about how popular it is.
