Due to financial constraints, I decided to store my things locally for now while I relocated. I'm someone who's huge on reviews (non-incentivized) and personal experiences people have with a company or product, so Einstein caught my eye. From the first conversation with the representative when I called, I knew I was in good hands. The conversation was calm, every step was explained, emails and communication was fluid thru moving day. The truck was much bigger than I was expecting as well as the ramp placement at the side of the truck vs the rear which made me nervous, but luckily we were able to make it work in my apartment complex. Sully and Kenan were friendly and understanding overall. Asked questions along the way as needed, and took some of the stress away from what typically comes with a moving day (especially when it comes to this being my first time moving things into a storage unit). I do have to note that the move may have finished sooner had one movers not been out of commission by his lunch choice longer than expected... Also, seeing the feet of my couch during the move has me a bit nervous about how they'll look when I remove my furniture from the unit. From a few feet away when I saw them on the cargo elevator and being placed into the unit, they seemed like they were angled and scratched a bit from positioning during transport. The email after my move stated that I can inform them if I notice any damages, whenever it may be, so I'll have to do a thorough check when I next access or move-out of the unit. Other than that, I would for sure use them again, possibly even for when it's time for that move-out. Omar filled in the details of the job to get us the right crew, and got us scheduled for the very next morning. Lorenzo and his team showed up early, communicated clearly, and holy wow did they work fast. In less than 90 minutes they moved what took our team 6 hours to do. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

Beau, the owner, visited us and gave an estimate that was very competitive. Throughout the move process they had very good communication. Before the move, we packed up most of the things ourselves, but Phoenix offered to have some of their office staff pack up the fragile items like dishes and art work on an hourly rate. This really helped! On the day of the move, they were on time and they brought in 10 people to pack the van and get us on our way quickly. When they moved us, they did not consolidate and transfer our things to another van, our things stayed in the same van until it reached its final destination. For some reason, this time I was assigned movers who seemed to have absolutely no sense of urgency. They moved extremely slowly throughout the entire process, to the point that even the leasing agent on the 1st flr commented on how long they were holding up the elevator and potentially damaging it by just having it ait idle and open. Even after that, there still didn't seem to be any urgency to move things along. What was especially frustrating was that instead of one person going downstairs to grab the next item while the other continued working, they seemed to insist on waiting for their partner before going back down. Then they left the dresser just siting outside instead of bringing it in ehich added more time instead of just doing it the first time. My bf was helping some as well because we had to hurry things along. There were several moments where the process could have been much more efficient, but they simply lacked the urgency and teamwork I had experienced with this company previously. The biggest disappointment is that I KNOW what good service from this company looks like. The first two times I used them, I had the same two movers, and they were absolutely amazing, efficient, professional, and constantly moving. If I had those same movers again, I would gladly pay the price because the service was worth it. Unfortunately, these last two movers completely changed my opinion of the company. It's not even about the price. I would rather pay more for good service than pay less and watch a move drag on because there is a lack of urgency. My advice to anyone using this company: take pictures and videos throughout your move, especially when you notice things that appear inefficient or careless. So, if you want the right workers to come help from AMS and you want it done right, you might want to request these 3 workers who work amazing together and were very careful with putting my items in my home for me. Last week, after downsizing quite a bit, doing most of my own packing (much of my stuff had never been unpacked and was still in AMS boxes from last year., I called them again based on my experiences in previous moves Unfortunately I didn't read recent reviews. They offered a "complimentary" kitchen packing, which I accepted. (It's not complimentary!) The crew of three men and one gal showed up- gal in charge. One guy was great, the other two did t speak English and were like two of the three stooges. Laughing. Goofing around. Boss lady stayed in the truck and listened to something with headphones for hours. Then she decides to start packing the kitchen after 5 hours which ran the clock even further. Two Stooges Moe and Curly dropped my sofa, damaged the frame. They continued to mess around. Unloading was even worse.. I don't want to pay for someone to screw on lampshades. I need assistance to MOVE boxes and furniture. The guy who was hard working left between loading and unloading. In short: instead of the quoted price of $3500, I was charged $7500! I called customer service and they knocked $400 off labor because the fourth guy wasn't there to help unload. The movers broke a mahogany dining room chair, damaged my buffet, sofa (then tried to hide the damage) and a few other items. I will never ever recommend them again, nor will I use them to move again. Horrible customer service from Troy, horrible experience with YaYa and her two stooges. They acted like college kids helping move for beer and pizza! Hideous!
