I used this company on the recommendation of a friend without checking them out first. My move was supposed to happen in two parts on a saturday. By the end of the day I was told it would have to be Sunday instead. This created some significant problems but I was willing to work with them. On Sunday, I was told it was going to have to be moved to Tuesday. It just so happened that I was going to be out of town on Tuesday and couldn't receive the second part of the move. I was told that would be rescheduled at my convenience. The bulk of the move did actually happen on Tuesday. When the day came for the second part of the move to happen, which was only a bed and a grandfather clock, I got put off again, from Saturday to Sunday. And on Sunday, right at the end of the agreed-upon window, I got a call asking for more money to complete the job. I was informed that because of my inability to receive the second part of the move on Tuesday, I was going to have to pay more. No matter that I was available to receive it Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday if that had been an option. The delay was not due to any action on my part and was actually very stressful for me. Yet I was at fault for not being available on Tuesday at the second location. My big mistake was not reading enough reviews before hiring this company. Although they have some good reviews, and I have no doubt they can do a good job, several other people have reported having issues similar to what I experienced. Yesterday I was in a really rough spot after All My Son's bailed on me. I wasn't sure exactly how I would make the impossible possible. I did the only thing I knew to do... I prayed. If God can move mountains, surely He would see us through this move. And in our time of need... He did just that. My fiancé called mover after mover with no luck until she came upon Compassion Movers. With a name like that you know they are good people. On top of that, they had some stellar reviews! Happy customer reviews one after another. So we crossed our fingers and called them. Immediately they were extremely sympathetic to our plight. It turns out that they were actually in the process of moving someone else in the same situation and despite working long hours that day they agreed to take time out of their evening and meet with me. That alone moved me to tears. I couldn't even get a call back from the other guys! Adam and Claudia showed up and assessed my situation. Right away I felt like these were the people I should have used in the first place. They knew their way around the moving business and didn't give me any bull. They were straight forward with what it would take to get it done and gave me a flat rate price. I agreed on it and we set a time for 10:00am. They communicated wonderfully about their ETA and showed up ready to conquer this task exactly when they said they would. Just having them there put my heart and mind at ease. Right away they rolled up their sleeves and got to work! Everyone seemed happy and you can tell that they really loved their job. I don't think I saw anyone without a smile all day. Throughout the move they did their best to update me with the progress, how much time was left, and asked me if they could help pack or even clean! Claudia jumped in and started packing the rest of my kitchen with lightning speed while taking great care to wrap everything and protect it all. I said- "Just toss it in the box, it'll be fine." She looked at me and said- "Nope. I am going to make sure NOTHING gets broken." I was amazed how quickly they got me loaded up. I trusted them completely and that freed me up to go behind them and clean my house completely. Because of this hard-working crew I was able to not only get completely packed up and moved in one trip, I had time to clean the WHOLE house and even patch picture holes! I moved out and had the house done on time! When we got to the new place they helped to assemble beds and went the extra mile to get us settled. It was getting dark and the crew still had tons of energy and didn't stop wearing those smiles. The dedication and professionalism the crew exhibited had me very impressed. All day long I felt at ease and truly blessed to have found this company. They truly cared about us and our things. They lived up to their name, Compassion Movers. Take a second and say it aloud. We do NOT recommend this moving because the owner does not want to take responsibility for the damages that resulted from careless moving. The only thing positive that we could think off were the nice and courteous staffs that work for them. On June 21, 2019 they were scheduled to pack up/wrap our furniture and belongings, but nobody showed up. We were told by Adam (owner) that they were busy with another job. They showed up the following day at close to noon and did not finished until midnight. They left at midnight and parked at their place until the next morning. They arrived at our new place (Austin area) around 10am the following day. The contract stated fix rate but was told by Adam that he ran out of boxes and tapes. He charged us another 300$ but settled to pay 150$ just to get over with it. During packing Claudia (owner's wife) accidently broke one of my fine bowls. Upon arrival Adam took pictures of the damaged furniture such as leather chair, breakfast table chairs, formal dining room chairs,coffee table legs, and many more. We were told that his furniture repair person will call us within a week or two. We also have a lot of broken things like China jar, glass plate, decorations, picture frames, We sent him all the pictures of damaged goods through text and email but NO response from him. He also did not unload our ladder and when asked about this he said he will drop it off at our house in The Colony. I have not seen my ladder yet. Up to this day we have never heard from his furniture repair person yet. Stay away from this company (Compassion Moving). First things first, Adam and Claudia are very nice people. When I met with them, I was pretty comfortable with their team moving my things to my new place. Adam assured me everything would go smoothly. They promised me they'd wrap all my furniture and be careful with my breakables. Claudia also promised me there was no need to pack my clothing hanging in the closet because she would personally put it all in wardrobe boxes and when we got to the new place she would put it all in my closet. They also told me they could mount our tv and hook up our washer and dryer. They offered me a flat fee and assured me they could start early since I would be having to go to work that evening. Having heard all this, I felt that my husband and I had made the best decision in choosing compassion movers for our move. Fast forward to a couple days before moving day. I contact Adam to make sure we are still good for the move, and to also discuss the time and other logistics because I like to be organized. Instead of hearing back from Adam, I hear from Claudia who explains that Adam had been in the hospital for a few days and was expected to be there for another week. She also asked if we could do an afternoon move instead of morning move. After reiterating why I needed an early morning move, she says "I have cancelled the other move we had scheduled and we will be there in the morning". (I was told they only schedule one move a day so why she had to cancel something to give me what I requested in the first place makes no sense) Then I asked that she be there by 8:30, her and her team didn't arrive until 10:30. (I had to be at work by 4.) So her team starts moving my things. I was specific in what was in the boxes since I had several fragile boxes. They completely disregarded the writing on the boxes and stacked as many boxes as they could on their dollies and even had heavy boxes on top of light/fragile boxes. They ended up breaking a couple boxes and having to bring me all the items that spilled out. They also used what little wrapping plastic I had to semi wrap my furniture and when they ran out did not attempt to use theirs that they said they had. They got my couch dirty and scratched the material getting it in the new place. They dropped my washing machine. They also severely scratched up both my washer and dryer and also cracked the dryer door. Upon getting my washer and dryer in the new unit they then told me they could not hook it up due to the caps placed on the connections. They said "that means the apartments have to do it". (The caps are simply placed there when the connections are not in use). They also informed me at the new place they have a guy that mounts TVs for 100 bucks. They don't do it. So that ended up not happening as well. So after a long day of moving (and having to miss work since they weren't on time), I had broken boxes, damaged furniture, no hooked up tv or washer and dryer. And I had to fork out a lot of money for a half ass move. Upon verifying with my apartments that they could have hooked up the washer and dryer, I attempted to get Claudia to come out and hook it up she kept giving me excuses as to why she couldn't come back. She even read my messages and didn't respond. So would I do business with Compassion movers again? Definitely not. read more

Unfortunately, we needed them on short notice and they were fully booked. No surprise....they are really, really good. So I am put in the unenviable task of finding another company......sh!t. Adam and Claudia and their team were nice, but they damaged over $10,000 worth of our furniture and appliances, and they broke many of their promises. They are unprofessional and unreliable. Adam said they would arrive at our house the morning of the move, put our clothes in wardrobe boxes (which they would provide), and have everything loaded on the trucks that day. They didn't show up until that afternoon, they didn't have any wardrobe boxes (so I had to pack the clothes myself in regular boxes), and they left a few large items to load until the next day. I told Adam I had to have everything out by 10:00 a.m. the next day because I had a carpet cleaner coming. He assured me he would be finished by 10:00 a.m. Once again, he was late. He wasn't finished by 10 a.m., so the carpet cleaner had to wait. This was a two-part move. We moved our things into storage while we looked for a house in our new location, and then we had our things moved into the new house. Adam wasn't there for the second part of the move. His team gave me conflicting stories about why he wasn't there. I had told Adam our new house had wood floors, and he said he would bring felt pads to put on the legs of the furniture to protect the floors. His team arrived without the felt pads, so I had to drive to the store to buy some. They dropped and broke the headboard to the bedroom suit I inherited from my parents. Adam's lead guy took a picture of it. He said they had a furniture repair person who would glue it back together. They also did major damage to our almost new $1,100 TV console, put several creases in the door of our almost new refrigerator, and they damaged a stereo speaker, our dining room table, two dining room table chairs, two bookcases, an office chair, a wood custom-made dog ramp for our bed, a nightstand, our master bedroom dresser, the dryer, a coffee table, an end table, a side table, and two other tables. Most of my follow-up phone calls about getting the furniture repaired were not answered. Several times the greeting I got from their answering machine said the voice mail box was full. I eventually got a hold of Claudia. She said Adam was out-of-state, so she would come inspect the damaged items and take pictures. We made an appointment for a morning the next week, but Claudia didn't show up. She didn't even call or text to say she would need to reschedule. I sent her a text message after the no-show, and said she would come that evening. Once again, she didn't show up, and she didn't call or text to let me know she wouldn't be coming. It's been almost a month since we moved into our new house. No visit from Adam or Claudia, no furniture repairs, and no compensation. read more
