We spent Christmas at Croatan Surf Club, unit 3H. The condo was clean and comfortable, with luxurious touches (spa tub, nice appliances). The location is perfect (on the beach, easy access to shopping for necessities). The instructions preparing us for arrival/departure were clear and communication from the rental company was prompt. Overall it was a great experience. read more

My wife and I had a unique opportunity to spend four weeks at the Outer Banks because I was the recipient of a clergy renewal grant. This meant a great deal of extensive research needed to be done to assure we had a great time and could comfortably be in one place for four weeks. Additionally, we wanted our two adult daughters to come and spend some time with us as well as my one daughter's dog. We also wanted an ocean front location. Finding the 'perfect' spot was going to be a challenge. I found First Flight and after a lot of discussion and planning we booked a condo here. The condo was second floor, which they assured us would give us an ocean view. It also had two bedrooms, two baths, and was pet friendly. Perfect, right? Well, yes, it was perfect, or as close to perfect as you can come. We found the parking to be easy and there were carts that enabled us to bring our months' worth of stuff to our second floor condo. And elevator from the parking area was helpful. We opened the door of the condo and it exceeded our expectations. It was well furnished and immaculately clean. The bedrooms are cozy and the living space is expansive. The kitchen was well equipped and we even had a small washer and dryer. And the view! We had two sliding glass doors with a very spacious balcony with lots of comfortable deck furniture as well as a large table. The location of First Flight is really ideal. It is in walking distance or a short drive from a nifty convenience store, large grocery stores, shopping, churches, and Duck Doughnuts. Duck Doughnuts is about a 2 minute drive and makes you happy you are so close... This condo was almost perfect. The imperfections were not that big a deal. The WIFI is not all that great. It worked, but it wasn't all that great. Of course, the facility is built to withstand hurricanes so the walls are thick thus weakening the signal. It was, however, good enough. The pool area was great and I loved how part of it was in the shade. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. I was disappointed, however, that the pool was not heated as advertised. We came in mid-May and it was too cold to swim for the first week we were here. Brr. Beach access was great and having a lifeguard on the beach was wonderful. The only big negative we had about First Flight was leaving! Talk about a wonderful facility and this is it. The customer service and people on the phone were excellent to deal with. I spoke a lot with Michelle from First Flight and she is one outstanding employee. Great experience and a great vacation. I highly recommend this location if you want to have fun at the Outer Banks! read more

Be sure to double check the terms of your rental and your credit card statement after renting!! My husband and I rented one of the Waves condos in Rodanthe, NC back in August for our "babymoon". We wanted a quiet weekend get away with the two of us and our dog before our new baby arrived. When I booked the condo, we were waived the pet fee!! (awesome) While we were there, a girl stopped by to clean the hot tub. Being that I was 9 months pregnant, we told her that we were not going to use the hot tub and therefore didn't want it to be cleaned while we were there. The manner in which she spoke to my husband and I was very rude. (But that is not what upset us the most.) Apparently, when she contacted management to let them know that we were not allowing her to clean the hot tub, it was never noted that we were bringing a dog. So therefore, they proceeded to charge our credit card the pet fee without our permission. (NOT awesome.) Upon checking my credit card balance a month later, I discovered the fee. When I called to question it, they apologized for not notating the account but I was told that it was too late to refund my credit card because "the money was already distributed to the owner of the condo". I entered into a transaction with First Flight Rentals (not the owner of the condo) so that is BS. I left a voice message for management to call me to discuss and heard back from anyone. read more

Condo was awesome, wonderful views, spacious, clean, comfortable, great pool, exercise room, lots of parking, centrally located, loved it!

We have stayed at the Croatan for years. This was the first year First Flight took over as the management company. HORRIBLE service and management of this unit. They charge $50 for 3 hour early arrival (previous company did not, and let us in when it was ready -- this is a common courtesy at other companies, at OBX and elsewhere. If it's ready, you can us it; if not, wait til later). When we entered the unit was not really clean--food remnants, etc. left in a bowl on counter, showers had grime in the corners, etc. it didn't feel very clean. They sent the cleaning crew back over after we had taken care of it ourselves. We also noticed that some of the furnishing were gone--we had stayed in this unit several times before. The sofa bed in the master was gone, lamps were gone, etc. Evidently as things broke they were not replaced The kitchen was infested with ants. We discovered after a day or so the dish washer did not clean the dishes--they came out dirtier than they went in. The cabinets were full of greasy, dirty dishes, flatware, pans and glasses. There were broken glasses in the cabinet (wine glasses with chunks of glass on the shelf). One of the bathroom sinks was clogged. When we called to tell them about the major issues (like the dishwasher and sink) we informed them we would just deal with it--but we wanted them to be aware. (there are many instances of being blamed and charged after departure for unresolved issues that weren't reported) We were ok with hand washing dishes. We were on vacation and just wanted to chill--not sit around waiting for people to come clean and fix things that should have been in order when we took possession (especially since they had the extra $50). Instead, the rental office called repeatedly that week, leaving increasingly unpleasant voice mails informing us we better be at the unit to meet the repair man and exterminator on their schedule (mid-week). Sorry, I don't take my cell on the beach. They were downright nasty every time we had an interaction with them. There was no effort to be accommodating or an "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" Not once did they ask what we wanted to do to address the issues--which would have been nothing, as we just wanted to make them aware to fix after we were gone--and we didn't want blamed or charged for any repairs needed. I was on vacation--not baby-sitting their condo repairs. On one of the last calls "Joyce" informed me that because we had a dog with us they would now charge us extra. She claimed they hadn't known we had a pet. It was no secret, and THE ONLY REASON WE RENTED THIS UNIT WAS BECAUSE IT ALLOWED PETS. She informed me they were going to charge our card AGAIN for an extra pet fee. Nice. They already advertised as pet friendly, these units typically cost a little more for that reason, and there's already "extra charges" on my agreement for $50. Joyce informed me that there was supposed to be a check box on the form to note a pet. Pretty sure that $50 is the extra fee for a pet. There is no way to see the actual contract or form she is talking about because the confirmation only refers to the amounts due--not every option you can accept or decline. The only one I'm positive about seeing is the check box to decline travel insurance, which we did. That shows up on our summary. On Wednesday of our vacation week they proceeded to charge us $140 and change for our dog, which I am pretty sure we already paid for. My husband visited their office and told them to stop calling and just leave us alone--their interactions were borderline harassment. Not only did they keep tacking on fees after we arrived, the issues we reported and they insisted on fixing were never resolved. The exterminator never showed, the dishwasher repairman could not fix the machine, and they didn't bother to close the loop on anything. Customer service is certainly not one of their core values. They are about milking a guest for as much as they can get. When you are paying over $4k for a week at the beach, the last thing you want is to be harassed and barked at by the rental company agent. The good news is that most of units in that building are managed by their competitor--we'll be using them next time. First Flight is a crash and burn at take off. read more

We've stayed at First Flight Retreat 3x over the past 4 years, primarily due to the location. Over that time there has been some apparent neglect. The pool area has cracked areas and a broken ladder. It could also use a good cleaning. The units have areas that need caulking, sealing and repainting. Unit 111 has stains on the carpet throughout. Upon arrival I had to clean out a bathroom sink clogged with hair and the kitchen sink had food particles and an avocado pit left in it. One of the beds had a blood stain on the mattress. In prior years we've had issues with the hot tub not being clean. The location no longer compensates for the lack of cleanliness. We'll be looking elsewhere next year. read more

We rented a condo at Sunset Rodanthe in July 2018. The pictures are deceiving. Upon entering the place we noticed a strange odor from the AC. We immediately went to open the windows but had to clean the windowsills from dead bugs. On one of the windows there was several pieces of broken glass. We contacted First Flight but didn't hear back for two days by then we had bought some cleaning products to help with the odor. The couch is filthy covered with stains as is the carpeting AND bedding. Each of the ceiling fans are covered in filth. If I had known the true conditions I would have never chosen this company. Also the dryer is 110 volt be aware a small load could take up to 3 hours. I wish I had known and would not of fallen for the staged photos. read more

We stayed here mid September and at the end of October in 2014. Both times we really loved our stay. The first time, we were on the second floor in #19, and the second time we were in #31 on the top floor. I really can't pin-pont much of a difference. On the first floor we heard those above us a bit, but not enough to bother us or our 15 month old while he slept. I found the management and staff to be beyond friendly. They went above and beyond for us. Chris who does it all at Waves Village is always there, and answers texts really fast. My husband is a Kiteboarder, and there is no better place to stay to get to kite as much as possible during a trip to the OBX. Again, the helpful staff need a huge shout out. His harness got separated from his gear when he moved his kite after a long session on the water. A staff member noticed it immediately and picked it up, and held on to it. A few hours later, in a panic, my husband searched all over for the harness. He went over to ask in the shop, and sure enough, it was there. He was so relieved he hadn't lost it and it hadn't been stolen. There are so may other kiterboarders there to launch and land-and he was able to find help each time. We will definitely be back. As soon as possible! read more

First Flight is our first choice of rentals in the OBX. We love the location and the units are beautiful.

My wife planned a vacation for us in January before the Covid-19 crisis was rampant and a national emergency was declared with "Stay at Home" orders were instituted in NC and our home state. To make matters worse, my wife is the nurse epidemiologist for our county and is under emergency hours until further notice. Called their "customer service" (or lack there of) about this and told them she was a nurse for our local health department and we were not going to be able to take our vacation due to her obligations during the outbreak. We were told that we would still have to pay full price if the condo was not rented because "the virus is not here yet and we clean and sanitize all our condos so we won't have an issue!" They are basically putting profit over human life and they are still sending us balance due emails even with a stay at home order issued. Paid half down and they will not even refund any of the money. So, we have filed complaints with both state attorney general's because they are taking advantage of people during a global pandemic when our nurses and medical professionals are stretched thin. They do not care about nurses or their families and instead they take their money even during national and state emergencies. Plus they remove your reviews from social media and block you for telling the truth! Beware of this company especially if you are a medical professional they do not care about any of you just profit. They should be ashamed of their actions and hiding of the truth on social media! read more

We stayed for a week of much needed rest at the FFR condos. The week was amazingly peaceful combined with the absolute professionalism of the management staff. Once entering the unit we found a welcome package making us feel wanted and warm! The unit was emaculate and so well taken care of. We intend to not only return but discuss a possible rental for four months. We found all and more than what we had hoped for. Hats off to Michelle the manager at this propery. She takes care as if it were her own! Cheryl Moretz read more

Highly recommend this place. We stayed in unit 303 and it has plenty of room. The condo is located right on the beach. It has all the amenities I need which are a pool, Jacuzzi, fitness room, and free shady parking area. Parking is located under the property with easy access to the elevator. They even provide a push cart to help with the loading and unloading. And on top of that, this place provide a partly week rental which is PERFECT!!! We stayed for 3 nights and we had a wonderful time. The only negative comment I have is that the shower by the pool stinks. It needs a sulfur cleaning. Also, the pool area need lights at night. read more

I stayed in the Waves Village WVR31. Conditions of the unit upon arrival were deplorable. The unit was dirty with pet hair all over the floor, pillows and couch. All bed sheets had hair on them. Comforter had dried blood on it. Mold was growing in grout of showers. Dead bugs were found in restroom. Many kitchen utensils were not cleaned on arrival. To make matters worse, our locks were malfunctioning from our initial arrival. The issue was not able to be resolved within the first 24 hours causing us to have to stay in the unit to ensure the security of our belongings. Huge inconvenience and disappointment. Property manager did not reach out to us to make sure issue was corrected. We also had an unpleasant encounter with staff member Doris. When asked what she could do to make our vacation better, she ignored our request. She said and I quote, "since we had a fridge and running water, we deserved to pay for it", even though we had no locks to leave or protect ourselves. So we were forced to stay in a dirty unit. I have never encountered such poor customer service. First Flights mission to provide a high level of integrity, ethics, quality, and excellence failed us for our family vacation. Would not recommend or return. Dissatisfaction is an understatement. read more

Customer Service is officially dead. I arrived at my First Flight Retreat vacation rental to discover both elevators were out of order. I am in an electric wheelchair, with my 3 children, in the parking garage under the resort complex wondering how I am going to get in and out of my unit. An unit owner calls the management and leaves my number and situation. She lets me know 1 elevator was hit by lightning and the other seems to be heat sensitive. I then call First Flight Rental and leave a message. While I wait for a return call, I spot someone with a name tag. She works for a different rental agency. The heat sensitive elevator is news to her and her agency. She apologizes and says her agency's policy would be finding me other accommodations or having to refund my money. In the meantime First Flight Rental leaves a message that I should call the fire department nonemergency number to have them get me in and out of my unit each time I wanted or needed to go somewhere. I then visit their office. They stop me in the hot parking lot, prevent me from transferring to my wheelchair, and reiterate the elevator is an amenity, and I should call the fire department nonemergency number for unit access/departure. I say that is not going to work and ask what else they can do. Nothing. They say it is unusual heat which is out of their control. I let them know I have been coming to the area for decades and have seen that heat many times. I ask for help locating (even at my expense) other accommodations until either elevator is fixed. Not happening. They say everything is booked. Best they can do is to text me when an elevator is working. I start to cry. The man starts to complain about his having to use the stairs. Really?? I tell him to shush - exact word. Yes, they texted the elevator was working the next afternoon. I may book a future vacation at First Flight Retreat, but not through First Flight Rentals. By the way, the following morning I found 3 elevator units able to fit my family available for the week within blocks of First Flight Retreat. read more

Beautiful, clean, quiet, modern condo. Gorgeous view, clean large pool. Great location, close to everything. Easy parking. Easy keyless doors. Easy website. Would highly recommend!! read more

Amazing location, right in the middle of outer Banks. Amenities are nice, but average- pool was not open when we were there (first week of April), and the game room only had two games... But who cares about that?? Right on the ocean, amazing third-story balcony view. Our condo was very well stocked- we brought way more than needed. All dishes, knives and even wine openers were available. We also over packed on the good end. I searched grocery stores and got the impression there wasn't much around- wrong!! Food Lions on almost every corner, and most convenience stores are pretty well stocked. Save the space and pack light. Great seashelling, lots to do on rainy days as well. Overall, a restful, happy vacation for my husband and four year old son. Definitely recommend!! read more

This was my first time to visit the Outer Banks and my husband and I booked this trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had looked forward to this for so long and couldn't wait when we booked our trip. We had to drive 13 hours from our home to get there. Check in time was 4:00 at the condo we had booked and at approx 3:30 (30 minutes before check in) we received a phone call that said our room was unavailable due to construction and the balcony had been removed and covered with a tarp therefore we couldn't stay there. We were told that the property manager had just been made aware of this by housekeeping! Supposedly this condo had been rented and housekeeping was just there for cleaning and they didn't know the balcony had been removed?? We were told they would attempt to find us a place to stay that was pet friendly , we did have our dog with us. We were also told our other option is to turn around and drive back home! The property manager was very unconcerned that we had driven 13 hours and now had nowhere to stay. We were told the GM was out of town and in meetings and therefore could not speak to her. So for the first night, they sent us to a motel room that if we had not had our dog with us, we would have probably slept in our truck. Not a place that I really felt safe at and not clean at all. We had to check out the following morning and wait all day until the next place they found us to stay was ready. It was a condo that was on the beach however, not what we had booked and after check in, I had to clean it again as there were remainders of food still left on the table and kitchen counters so I wasn't sure how clean it was. It had none of the things in it that were in the condo that we had originally booked so we were not prepared with items that we thought were there, such as a fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs etc therefore costing more money as we had to go and buy the things needed. After 3 days of dealing with the property manager we were finally able to speak with the GM. Both the GM and the property manager kept trying to blame everyone else for the lack of communication and for the fact that our condo was not available and did not want to take ownership of this train wreck. The fact that they waited 30 minutes before our check in time to inform us of this and leave us scrambling trying to find a place to stay 13 hours away from home was unacceptable and the most stressful thing. It was one excuse after another. They did eventually refund us some money equivalent to one night however that was like pulling teeth to get that to happen because the GM and property manager felt like they were not at fault and they were worried about losing money. We just wanted them to take ownership of the issue and not make excuses and blame others. If they were in our position I am sure they would have been just as upset. If I ever do make it back to the Outer Banks, I will not rent from this company for sure. read more

Our unit at First Flight Retreat condos was very clean and a nice layout for us. My biggest issue is that the management company nickel and dimes renters. You have to rent beach chairs at a high rate. You have to pay for extra bath towels. Our pre check-in directions even said to bring your own dish towels. For travelers that are flying there, it's not ideal. read more

Beautiful condo! Great location right on the beach, with any beach accessory (chairs, umbrellas, etc) you need available if you want them. Pool and hot tub are a bonus with tons of comfortable seating on the deck and everything kept up very well. Super quiet, couldn't hear any of our neighbors. Overall wonderful stay, we will be back! read more

My fourth time at these condos. You can't beat the location and the condos are pretty nice. I would have preferred a higher quality mattress with a pillow top but it was not the worst one I have ever slept on either. The kitchens are stocked differently. The one I am in right now is stocked pretty well. On day 2 we lost wi-fi. Called the rental office (Village Realty) and they promised to send some one. They did but it was really a job for the internet company. We contacted the internet company and they sent someone the next day. We happened to be in when the technician arrived. We were in unit 318 but the router is in 314 and the "extender" is in 317. Luckily there were people in 314 and it turns out they had fiddled with the Ethernet cable so that THEY had service but not others. This unit (314) is run by another company so if it was empty or the people weren't in, it would have been impossible to fix. Obviously this is not a good set up. The internet tech put an extender there since he couldn't get in 317. Blah blah. Just annoying. In the midst of this we were getting mixed messages from Village Realty (too much detail to put here). Also, the door codes were not clear and some of the posted codes did not work. The lock on the storage unit in the garage was too rusty to open. This sounds like griping but while an overall descent experience, I am detecting a degradation in things from my first visit here about 3 years ago. I will probably go back to another nearby condo (Croatan Surf Club) next year and monitor reviews for FFR before coming back. I hope they keep this a nice place. Oh...the pool is nice and someone services it each morning. The pool furniture is in good condition too. Parking is plentiful but some signage is confusing. Charcoal grills were in good condition. read more

The good: Great view, nicely appointed kitchen, spacious living area with nice furnishings. The bad: a horribly sagging mattress, clogged shower drain, no water pressure (fixed within 24 hours), semi-functioning ice dispenser, pot-smoking neighbors in FFR114, chain-smoking neighbors directly above (there is a no-smoking policy), people with multiple barking dogs. We also had to clean/bleach the entire porch because the floor was full of sand and the furniture was caked with sand and black mildew. The guests should not have to do that. Would we stay here again? Not a chance. read more

nice and clean. our unit was very modern and cool. convenient and centrally located. good times!

We stayed in 317 (Horizon Hideaway) at First Flight Retreat in Kill Devil Hills. It was wonderful! The condo was very clean, had all new appliances, and the bed was very comfy. The kitchen was stocked very well and everything worked. This is an "oceanside" condo, but after having oceanfront for several years, I have to say it was very nice to have shade on the balcony all day! We still had a great view! This was our 4th year at First Flight Retreat and we look forward to the 5th! read more

We stayed in First Flight Retreat for a week during the summer. I have to say that the condos are absolutely beautiful. They are relatively new, spacious, clean, and well-decorated. We have no complaints about the facilities, but we did not have a great time dealing with the folks at First Flight Rentals. When we were trying to rent the condos we had a very hard time getting in touch with someone. We went days without email responses, and then when we would follow-up with a call and leave a message, we would go several more days with no return call. I'm not sure if they are understaffed for managing several properties, but we found it really surprising that it was so difficult to get in touch with someone to make a reservation. Once we finally did get in touch, we did not find the people to be particularly friendly. I suppose this is not necessarily a problem, but was just surprising given that we have visited the Outer Banks many times and everyone else we meet (including rental management company staff) is so helpful and friendly. We also found the reservation system for FFR to be very inconvenient, especially if you are renting more than one unit. Even though we were renting units under the same name and paying for them together, we had to make separate reservations AND pay a separate reservation fee on each unit. If you are only renting one, this probably won't be a concern for you, but if you are planning to rent more than one, be aware. One additional word of warning about having pets in these units. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in Kill Devil Hills between 9am and 5pm (which we knew), but as it says on the First Flight Retreat website, they are allowed on their property, which they say extends down to the average high tide line. We brought our small dog to the beach and had him lying under a tent up near the sand dunes on a leash, right near the FFR walkway to the beach. Based on the description on the website, we thought this was their property because it was clear that even at high tide, the water did not make it up to where we were sitting. When the beach police came by they told us that none of the beach was private property and that dogs were not allowed anywhere on the beach in KDH. We received a warning and our dog had to spend the rest of the trip inside. This was a big disappointment because we selected First Flight Retreat because they were pet friendly and dogs were allowed on what they said was their beach property. It is not FFR's fault that KDH beaches are not dog friendly, but I wish this wasn't misrepresented on their website. Also, dogs are not technically allowed alone in units without you, so I am not sure what they expect you to do with your dog during the day. Just be forewarned if you plan to bring your dog on vacation and stay at First Flight Retreat -- they are NOT welcome on the beach between 9am and 5pm and the beach police will stop you! Overall, although the condos were very nice, when we come back to the Outer Banks next year we will be finding somewhere else to stay that has more friendly staff, an easier reservation system, and has dog friendly beaches. read more

Very clean but had problems with air conditioning, ice maker, and hot tub. I tweaked the icemaker and got it working; air conditioner had to continually be reset by resetting the circuit breaker switch; and hot tub continually lost heat with no instructions anywhere about how to reset it. Button didn't work; was "later" told you had to unplug from wall to reset the thermostat. No instructions posted anywhere! Had a short 5 day stay and didn't want to be entertaining repairmen the whole time so tried to work the problems out ourselves. Huge bug in room freaked me out kept me up all night....found out later was palmatto bug. Travelled a long distance and had annoyance after annoyance. My handicapped husband fell in the bedroom and hurt his back while trying to vacate when fire alam went off early in the morning....he only has the use of one leg, and.had to walk down 3 flights of steps only to learn there was no fire emergency!! Hot tub maintenance never showed up after servicing was scheduled and tried to say it was my fault that I didn't call him......I have written proof that maintenance was scheduled....blame the customer....always a poor way to do business.....will not stay there again. Purpose of a "vacation" is to relax and get away from it all....HAH!!! Not at this place. read more

My wife and I stayed in #112 for New Year's and loved it. The condo was modern, relatively clean (few stains on carpet/furniture but nothing significant) and perfectly located. Not only was the view of the ocean fantastic from the balcony but you can walk to plenty of restaurants and its a short drive to Kitty Hawk or Nags Head. I wish the hot tub had been open in the off-season but that be my only minor gripe. It was a fantastic/quiet get-a-away. read more

We loved our spring break vacation at Croatan Surf Club! It has wonderful amenities and the location is central to great restaurants and attractions. We enjoyed the peaceful off-season beaches and can't wait to go back when it is warmer! First Flight provided top notch service and the Croatan is a newer gorgeous condo with wonderful amenities like indoor/outdoor pools & jacuzzis, a small gym, upgraded kitchen, jacuzzi on the deck w ocean views and nice decor. My only complaint is that the mattresses felt cheap and were uncomfortable...I would expect higher end mattresses in such a high quality condominium. read more

We stayed at Croatan Surf Club. The location is convenient. We enjoyed the covered parking, elevators, heated pool, and beach gear storage. I'm docking the rating as the amenities do not match the advertising, the unit needed maintenance (lighbulbs, clogged drains, broken TVs, blinds that don't open), and the internet was painfully slow. Additionally, the rental company doesn't provide enough towels for the # of people that the unit sleeps (Our unit slept 6, but there were only 4 sets of towels. My husband and I stayed there last summer and loved it. The facilities had everything we wanted. It was so easy to access the beach and we also enjoyed the pool in the afternoon. My hubby is into fitness so he liked working out in the fitness room. We have made plans to return there agin in July. After the winter we have had - it can't come soon enough. Our condo was oceanfront and the views were great. The condo had everything we needed in the kitchen and our beds were made upon arrival and also having a washer/dryer was so nice. Enjoyed our stay at 102 Coastal Retreat. Nice clean condo close to beach. Would stay again. Anna

Croatan Surf Club The Platinum Suite To whom it may concern,  I was very disappointed with our stay last week. When we arrived there were bugs by the hundreds on patio couldn't even open patio doors and if we wanted to couldn't even open screen cause screen door was broken as well as the screens on Windows so for two days we couldn't even enjoy the sound let alone the view from the ocean where the sliding door or windows weren't even clean. The table, chairs and loungers where upside down with sand and water (smelled like fish) all over them. The 2 loungers were rusted and broke and we couldn't even use. We called office but no one called us back as it was after the office closed. The ice maker was broken the keurig coffee pot that we paid extra for was a joke to use. I would suggest for the future that you get a full size keurig. Very disappointed with what the pictures showed and what bad shape the pool was in. No luggage carts to help bring our stuff up to condo. Very poor management all together read more

We tried to do a long New Years weekend with a 1st floor unit. It was very nicely appointed and clean. It had a beautiful view of the sound. After we got settled we heard what we thought were workmen on the floor above us. Linoleum floors, no rugs. They were VERY noisy with their feet and voices. No sound protection. Well we quickly found out it was a number of couples moving in for the weekend. The noise was worse than I have heard in the cheapest hotel I have ever been in. The unit was dog friendly and the noise made our pup unbearably nervous. It was so bad I told my wife that it was not habitable and we had to leave. I came for quiet and relaxing weekend and this it was not. Numerous calls to the management have yet to be returned. We did in fact leave immediately and we found a very nice house a few blocks away, at 3 pm New Years Eve. Yep. We found someone that wanted our business and could provide peace and quiet. We would not recommend these people to anyone, nor would I consider returning. read more

After years of renting through other companies, we decided to try First Flight out. It's been a disappointing experience and one we won't repeat. The condo at the Croatan Surf Club is one we've stayed at before when it was under a different property management company. Therefore, we expected the same type of experience. Instead we got stained carpets, light bulbs that don't work, tvs that don't work, and a hot tub that needs to be replaced. When we tried to get these things resolved the management refused and went so far as to deny there were any problems in the first place. The crux of the issue is the pool service person said the hot tub couldn't be fixed and needed to be replaced to rectify the barely functioning jets. First Flight's response to that was to blame us as the customers and accuse us of lying. We could understand if the response had been they're not going to replace the hot tub until the end of the season or maybe even an apology that it's not working at full capacity. But to tell us we're lying about what the pool service person told us was surprising and shocking. We've had nothing but positive experiences with Sun Realty and Village Realty. Highly recommend you check those companies out instead. Please don't lose money like we did on a poorly maintained unit. read more
