Place was clean and stocked with cooking supplies and various items we needed. You do need to provide your own sheets and towels but that's fine. You are VERY close to two public beach access points, restaurants, bars and a short drive to all OBX has to offer! Water pressure in that shower was amazing :) We would highly recommend sea spray cottages to friends and family and hope to come back!

The cottage was clean, comfortable and has a fenced in yards for pet use. There are relatively few places that are pet friendly and accommodating but here they go out of their way for pet owners. The unit is not represented well in the photos. The queen size bed is shoved up against a wall on one side so you can only enter from one side or the end of the bed. There are no side tables to charge phones or set glasses, etc. There's no room for them because the bedroom is that small. I use a CPAP and was unable to use it the whole time we were there as there was nowhere to put it and you can't put them on the floor. You had to turn sideways to squeeze between a corner and the refrigerator to get into the very tiny bathroom. The shower was extremely small, you can't even raise your arms much to wash your hair as there is not enough room in the shower. There is lots of deferred maintenance at this property, rotting wood, trex type boards with no support beneath so they sagged when you stepped on them (walkways and pool deck), formica countertop in room was unfinished on one end, shotty carpentry work throughout the Sea Level unit and lots of bugs (little ones that I have no idea what they were). The homes all around this one were very well maintained but this one stands out as being neglected. Breakfast was packets of instant oatmeal or grits, bagels and apples and bananas, a far cry from what most bnb's offer. At the very least most bnb's offer at least some type of baked item. We will not stay here again. We were celebrating our anniversary and this room was not at all what we had envisioned from the photos. We loved the Outer Banks and will probably visit again but choose a much better place to stay.

We stayed one night after…read morespending the day in Ocracoke - we checked in late in the night and Mike was kind enough to extend our checkout time to 11 a.m. However, we did not use the extra time given since we couldn't leave there quick enough. It was obvious the minute we entered our room (Deck Side Room) the cleaning was at best minimal. From carpet stains; bugs; mold in the bathroom; molded and dusty vents it instantly made us feel grungy! The room temperature was obnoxiously hot (even on a November night); and the wobbly and filthy ceiling fan barely did a thing. My girlfriend cleaned out dead bugs from the tub and to her surprise brown water came out of the faucet (after running for awhile it was clear water). Breakfast was set for a 6-year old chid - pop tarts, instant oatmeal & grits, 4 powdered doughnuts and single-serve cereal boxes. We used the Keurig to make our own coffee and discovered how gross and unkept the kitchen was. The powdered creamer was a solid brick with dead bugs in it; and the sugar was hard as a rock with rust on the lid! We did not expect to have to go to an amazing breakfast at WaveRider after spending over $200 at this "Bed & Breakfast" We do NOT recommend staying here unless you don't mind uncleanlinesses and just need a bed for the night. The only perk to this location is its proximity to beach.

The one recommendation I will make is that the houses need mirrors in the guest rooms. That was a huge issue for the wedding party, family members and friends staying in the houses. We ended up buying some for our stay since the only mirrors were in the small bathrooms. Also, there isn't any area for guests to park and most surrounding areas are 'Tow Zones'. We found spots but they were 2 blocks from the house which was inconvenient. This is a wonderful location for large families, perhaps reunions, or just a vacation.

Shampoo, conditioner, soaps and beauty pack filled with toothbrushes, q tips , dental pics. The views are fantastic. We watched dolphins and otters while eating breakfast. The breakfast is a work of art. Fruit cups, yogurt eggs with ham and cheese. Freshly made crepes with bananas and homemade Carmel sauce. There is a microwave and dishes, silverware and cooler with sodas and water upstairs with couches and games. Fresh baked cookies outside your room in the evening. There is fishing and crabbing on site. If you don't have the equipment they Wii loan you what you need. There is also a pool, several swings and chairs outside. Everything is so tastefully done and welcoming. There is also a small elevator to get suitcases and people upstairs.

Having checked out of our Air BandB place we had to find a new place. We found this B and B about noon, and the owner led us right to a room and we were in! The room was beautiful, clean, large, and very comfortable! The house is directly across the street from a public beach access making it super convenient. The owners were incredibly friendly and fun to chat with. We were so happy to have found this place. (And no, we didn't want to leave the next day either, but we did.)

When I booked The Loft, I was unsure what to expect as I hadn't read other reviews about it, so here is my take for those potentially interested in booking: The Loft * it is basically a one-bedroom apartment -- with a bed in the living room area and a bed in the bedroom. There is a microwave, a refrigerator, and a Keurig. You have a full sized bathroom as well, and a legit living area with a couch and a couple chairs. It is perfect to split amongst 4 people; you won't feel crowded! * It is a walk upstairs. You can get to The Loft using a separate entrance from the house. You do not need to walk through the main house to get to The Loft. We liked this a lot, for privacy. But, you may need to make several trips to/from your car if you are carrying a lot of luggage. If you are unable to carry luggage on your own, I'd recommend having a friend help you or, if you are staying alone, I would recommend a different room at Cypress. The walking up the stairs was not an issue for me and my friends, but I think it could have been an issue for my parents. * It has a outdoor patio area with 4 chairs around a small table, and you have a distant view of the ocean. It's lovely. The B&B experience: Bill was simply fantastic throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious every morning. My husband and I are early birds so had no issue making it in time for the 8:30 breakfast. The breakfast was fresh and yummy! You are walking distance from the beach (like a 3 minute walk!). The B&B has chairs for your use, so you can grab one of those chairs and walk over to the beach. You're also walking distance from a few restaurants and to Duck Donuts if that's your thing. We tried Duck Donuts for the first time on a morning walk; it was ok -- to each their own! Tips: If you are driving to Duck for a wedding, please leave the Cypress 2 hours before your event start! We had no clue how bad traffic could get. What should have been a 20 minute ride took slightly over 2 hours. Apparently, it's just like that on the weekends (especially Saturdays), so you've been warned! All in all, we had a fantastic experience here and will be excited to return.

This time, there were a couple of minor issues such as debris in the car port area which was cleaned up on the last day of our stay. We were initially given just one key. FFR did arrange for a 2nd one. The cleaning could have been a little better. One of the bedrooms had not been vacuumed. The base of the toilet in the 2nd bathroom had not been properly cleaned. Also, someone left an alarm clock set for 12am. Ha ha! Great fun! Thanks again! This property is NOT really boardsport friendly. The bulkhead directly behind the building has a 7-8' drop to the sound floor. Behind the pool area it is only 5', which is workable but you have to carry your equipment an extra 100'. For windsurfers this is ok because here, the water out to the sound is deep enough and you can sail out without too much trouble. It's very shallow just behind the building. For kiters, it puts you between the resort's pier and then pilings on the adjacent property. The storage locker is ok for kite equipment. Windsurf storage is on the concrete floor of the carport.
